These guys are amazing. Recommended to me by a friend who previously had a bed bug problem, Jon was prompt in scheduling a K9 inspection the day I called him. He explained to me that since they don't offer extermination services, only inspection, they didn't have a conflict of interest in the inspection. This alleviated some anxiety for me and I felt I could trust them. The K9 inspector came out and the dog sniffed around and sure enough caught the scent. Both the dog handler and Jon offered me great advice and helpful links to help make the fumigation prep as efficient as possible. Would absolutely recommend them. It's worth noting that they do offer a discount for Yelp reviews, but on my honor, I would have given them the same 5 star rating and written my review exactly the same. read more

This company scammed me out of nearly 2k. I paid for 2 visits upfront, which I was happy to do as they were initially supportive, responsive, and helpful. Once payment was received, that changed. It was impossible to get a response on scheduling the second visit. The customer service representative answers every question with "100%," when in fact, there was 0% service, responsiveness, or resolution. I spent THREE MONTHS! calling, texting, emailing - when I threatened legal action I was told I would be reimbursed for the full amount of my payment - then promptly ghosted again. In the same email, they stated they would not contest if I chose to dispute through my bank. I was informed by my bank two months later that they had, in fact, denied my claim based on the merchants information. The amount of time and energy I have invested into this is so deeply unacceptable. This company should never be used, and should not be allowed to process payments or transactions of any kind. A gross mishandling of money, time, trust, and customer service. I would give 0 stars if Yelp allowed, truly horrific experience. read more

Same experience as Caitlin. Dealt with Michael who sold me an inspection which was positive. He then sold me two treatments (instead of one) that he said was best for bed bugs and he discouraged me from using my local exterminator, he would find me one. I paid up front and the first treatment was scheduled promptly and the exterminator did the work. After that I tried to schedule the second treatment I had paid for and he texted twice he would get back to me. He didn't. When I kept texting asking for a scheduled treatment he said the company would "make it right." It was then All communication Stopped. He ghosted me. I feel he upsold me a second service that he knew the company would not deliver. Beware of this company! read more

I can't tell how legitimate this company is . . . they have a website but it appears to be down. They have a phone number, but it goes to this generalized voice mail. They ask that you text with them . . . it's all a bit strange. That said, mostly due to panic and some very good reviews (that I now question the veracity of) I went with them. The experience was ok, but not great, and seemed very expensive for what it was ($350 for a service that took approximately 15 minutes). However, I am now left very frustrated as I have asked three times to be provided with the report of their findings, which is necessary in order for me to get my landlord to provide extermination, and despite being promised to get a report by noon today, they have sent nothing. They told me several times that "time is of the essence" and I need to get on this immediately so that I don't have a larger issue, so their then delay is very frustrating. It does feel a bit like they're only interested in talking to you when they think they can refer you to an exterminator, which I'm almost certain they make commission on. As an update, I just went on to the NESDCA website (that NYC Bed Bug Inspections claims to be certified by and shows the logo of among their photos) and NYC Bed Bug Inspections does not appear on the NESDCA list of certified bed bug detection teams so I am lowering my review to one star as this seems outright deceptive. Additional update, I did eventually get a response any my report after threatening to dispute the charge and report the company. So overall, I don't think they're a scam but I'm sure there are better run and certified companies out there so I'd go with those. read more

We have worked with Derrick and his K9 team for commercial projects in the past, and they consistently do a great job. Recently, they inspected a residential property for us, and their thoroughness and professionalism were outstanding as always. Highly recommended for anyone needing a reliable k9 bed bug inspection service. read more

The worst company ever. Doesnt get back to you and stole my money!!! My husband and I have tried getting in contact with the customer service rep several times without any response in weeks. Filing a complaint with the BBB. DO NOT USE THEM. WILL STEAL FROM YOU. read more

Update: they reached out to me after they saw my review and offered to come ASAP for a discount. I guess they had booked me for a different date by accident. Communication was much better when we switched from texting to email. To avoid a headache I suggest you do the same. They were nice and the dog was very cute. I appreciate their going the extra mile to remedy the situation. - Awful communication. We had an appointment for a routine inspection for an AirBnB unit we manage-they never showed up. No call, no explanation, no response to messages about whether they were still coming. Surprisingly unprofessional. read more

David was extremely professional and informative. I had gotten bed bug bites while traveling and was worried I might've brought them back with me. I called at 9pm on a Saturday night and they were able to send David and the K9 dog within an hour. It was really cool to see the dog at work. She would sniff around and if she detected something, she would look up at her owner as a signal. This did not mean that I had bed bugs, but rather she detected some kind of bed bug activity (eggs, fecal matter, etc.). David gave me really solid advice to buy some Bedlam spray to kill any eggs if I did happen to bring them back. He was also more than happy to bring the dog to sniff around the rest of the apartment as an extra precautionary measure even though he knew the incident was isolated to my bedroom. I peppered him with questions and he was able to answer every one of them and give me peace of mind that I did not have bed bugs. Even if I had brought eggs home, I was so proactive about this that I could kill off everything before it spread. Disclaimer: The price for an inspection was $300, but you get $50 off if you write a Yelp review. Although there was monetary incentive to write this review, my feelings are honest and I would definitely call again if I ever find myself in a similar situation (but let's hope I don't!). read more

Luckily no bugs but prompt service. Very through, and great price for the peace of mind.

I used this service November 1 as I suspected my apartment had bed bugs. The dog and his trainer were thorough and helpful, ultimately did not find anything. While the dog and his companion were great, the customer service here is abysmal. This company promises a detailed follow-up report prior to booking their services. It has now been a month and I have not received, despite having followed up six times. Moreover, I was charged a $300 fee plus tax (equivalent to a three bedroom search), but only one bedroom was inspected. Do not use this service if you are on a budget, and do not use if you plan to submit to your landlord for reimbursement. read more

Joesph and Jack were a great team, swept my property within 10 minutes and cleared the space for $275 (I'm sure pricing varies depending on location size of job etc). They are certified and by my research the cheapest option in town. Even though jack (the dog) didnt like to be pet it was still a great experience and I would highly recommend them to anyone having any issues or concerns with bed bugs. read more

Had to schedule a bed bug inspection last minute and they were able to send someone the next day. Joseph came with Luna, a black lab who is trained to not be distracted by cat smells since my roommate and I have a cat. Even though I was told I would get a call notifying me Joseph was 30 minutes away, I didn't get a call until he was parking outside my apartment. Regardless, Joseph was very nice and Luna was calm the entire inspection. Luckily, no bed bugs were found and Joseph assured me that if I find a bug within 30 days of his inspection, I could text a picture of it to them and if necessary, they'd come inspect again, no charge. Overall, they made a stressful situation a bit easier to deal with. Also, if you leave a review on Yelp, they give $25 off (although they do charge tax which brings the price back up). read more

Everyone was nice, patient, and incredibly pleasant to work with. It was worth the cost to have the peace of mind knowing that I don't have bed bugs. One thing to note if you have pets - the bug sniffing dog was pretty distracted by my cat's scent. The inspector was very thorough, so that made up for it. read more

Great service - quick and thorough! Great and speedy response in a challenging situation.

John was very helpful in finding the bedbug problem for a friends house. Our company recommended him based on our independent research and our customer needed the help. After calling we felt comfortable recommending him and he didn't disappoint! Customer was very terrified from the experience. NYC Bed bug inspections did a great job based on customer's experience read more

Scott is awesome!! I called for a consultation and he was incredibly helpful in calming me down and walking me through what to look for. Honestly if you're looking for a professional that knows his stuff, call Scott. He also really takes care of the inspector dog. He even sent the dog to Florida to make sure it rested. You cannot go wrong with this service read more

The person I spoke to was incredibly helpful when it came to answers my questions. I want to know what products was great to avoid any bedbug. They give me tips and recommendation, which was awesome. read more

NYC Bed Bug Inspections responded quickly and was able to come the very next day for an inspection. James, David and Jack the Dog did a great job at putting us at ease throughout the entire inspection by explaining the whole process of the inspection and giving us background information on the dogs training. They stayed for 45 mins to an hour and were very understanding about the anxiety I was experiencing. Luckily no bed bugs were found and they were nice enough to even have the dog look in my car as well since I was worried about possible bed bugs in the car as well. Would definitely use the service again! read more

This company was great to work with- polite, patient, thorough. We called in the afternoon and scheduled an inspection for later the same day. Joe and his dog helper thoroughly inspected the whole apartment, explained the process, and patiently answered all my questions. They thankfully did not find evidence of bedbugs! Having them here was such a relief after a few days of bedbug-induced panic. They offer a free inspection within 30 days if you find other evidence. Would definitely recommend to others! read more

*Dishonest or incompetent.* Found a dead bug in the guest bathroom of the apartment we had just moved into...these guys came in and told us it was definitely a bed bug that had recently been alive (+ charged $250 on the spot), leaving us in a near-panic. The next morning, we had a second inspector in -- who told us the "bed bug" was actually a long-dead water bug. read more

NYC Bed Bug Inspections was recommended by a friend, and I'm so grateful I went with them. I set up the appointment with John, who was super helpful and patient over the phone--and flexible when I needed to change times. Joseph and Jack (the beagle) showed up on the day of the appointment. Joseph was friendly and kind and answered all of my questions. He and Jack (so sweet!) did a thorough inspection of my bedroom and my whole apartment. Felt so relieved after they left and would recommend NYC Bed Bug Inspections to anyone. read more

This company was incredibly responsive! Eased my worries about potential bedbugs! After living in the city this is the best company to work with. read more

John and Jack were great to work with. I called them in the morning and they were there by noon. Polite, professional, thorough (and luckily didn't find any evidence of bed bugs!) They offer a free follow up inspection if you find any confirmed evidence within the next 30 days. Definitely trust these guys more than the K9 services that are trying to sell you an expensive extermination. read more

Having bed bugs is one of the most stressful things to go through, especially when you find bugs at night when most companies are closed. It was a quick response time and my apartment was inspected a couple hours later. The team (and their dog) were extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and went above and beyond to answer all of my questions. I would highly recommend this company. read more

I needed reassurance that I was in the clear, so I contacted the team to bring their dog by my home. The guys were very polite, thorough, and timely. John was very responsive to emails and their service was competitively priced. Id definitely recommend. read more

Joseph and jack were wonderful and professional! Came out to my apartment only a few hours after I called them in a panic and did a thorough inspection. Thankfully, jack did not find any evidence of bed bugs! But they told me if I find any suspicious bugs in the next 30 days they would come out and reinspect again. Not exactly a cheap service, but well worth the peace of mind. read more

Although the company showed up an hour and a half late, they were one of the first companies to respond to our call for help. The inspectors did a thorough inspection and provided tiers of responses to a minor infestation, saving us money, time, and plenty of anxiety. read more

We had a great experience using their service. John was extremely flexible with our scheduling despite us having had to cancel last minute previously. Joseph and Jack (the dog) arrived on time and did a thorough inspection around the entire apartment. Joseph did a visual inspection and Jack sniffed diligently for any trace of bed bugs. We were glad none were found and appreciated the thoroughness. read more

I got a response in minutes about the cost for an inspection, which I really appreciated in my time of crisis! Scheduled an inspection for the next day. The price was comparable to other providers. The dog and inspector, John, were very knowledgeable and explained everything well. However, they did show up around an hour and a half late. I was updated on the delay, which I appreciated, but it was still an inconvenience. read more

We recently discovered our cat in our living room playing with a dead bed bug, and wanted to be confident that we didn't need to set the entire apartment on fire. We called NYC Bed Bug Inspectors, and they showed up that afternoon. Joe showed up with his little beagle, and very thoroughly inspected our apartment visually and had the dog sniff through the apartment several times. The dog was a little distracted by the smell of our cats, but overall both the dog and visual inspection didn't find anything. He gave us advice and then let us know that if we get any bites to call them back up for another inspection with a less cat-crazy dog. (That's the only reason I cut off a star; I wish I had been reminded on the phone that the bedbug dog might be very distracted by my cats, even when locked in a bathroom for an 45 min to an hour prior to arrival) I really liked how honorable the company was, especially given some of the negative articles about bedbug detection dogs giving false positives in recent years. I highly recommend them. read more

Okay. SCOTT IS AMAZING!!!!!!!! I have NEVER experienced this level of customer service from ANY business over the last 6 years living in NYC. Inspectors found bed bugs at my office & I called him telling him the whole situation & that I wanted him to come as a precaution. He spent OVER a half hour on the phone with me telling me what I could/should do now and what I can expect to see if we actually do have bed bugs. To take that kind of time with someone who hadn't even set up an appointment yet was BEYOND anything I could've ever hoped for. Seriously- if you have an inclination you have bed bugs, call NYC Bed Bug Inspections! He is SO trustworthy and helpful. I seriously didn't know anything about bed bugs and after speaking with Scott I feel educated and confident if we do have a bed bugs problem, he will find them. They are the real deal- i'm so thankful to have found such an honest, trustworthy business to work with. read more

I thought I found a dead bed bug in my son's bed! I called scott EARLY in the morning and he picked up right away. He had me snap a picture of it, and he diagnosed the problem instantly. Luckily it was 100% NOT a bed bug. It was a huge relief. Scott was awesome and incredibly responsive. I would absolutely recommend him. read more

We haven't even used their services yet, but I had to write a review because we had a pest issue and Scott has been incredibly generous with his time advising us on how to deal with the problem. He identified that they weren't bed bugs and connected us to other specialists and had numerous follow up calls to address the issue, all without promise of pay. You won't find better customer service anywhere. I'd recommend Scott and his team to anyone. read more

NYC Bed Bug Inspections was amazingly patient and attentive over the phone. Scott agreed to do our extermination but suggested a free in person visit before-hand, just to see how we were getting on with the prep. When he arrived, he pretty quickly determined we had none of the signs of bed bugs and explained why, due to bed bug behavior and lifespan, etc, it was highly unlikely we had them. if we did, he said there would have to be so few that an exterminator would be completely unnecessary. He looked at my leg where i had been bitten and said that many insects make the same bite marks. He told us some things we could do ourselves (spraying dark corners and crevices with alcohol) that would eliminate any risk if we were very worried. I almost wish we had got to meet his cute dogs who would have sniffed bed bugs, but he kindly did not want to waste our money on any unnecessary services. He is a real professional and could tell himself. There are many scam artists looking to make money off of the hysteria and social stigma the bed bug epidemic has caused in new york. Unfortunately we learned that Metro Pest employs some of these. If you suspect you might have a bed bug problem, check NYC Bed Bug Inspections before you go anywhere else! read more
