The fear of bed bugs is real. And for someone who's heard horror stories but never actually encountered a bed bug... it's easy to jump to conclusions. Well, I jumped to conclusions. I spent about 3 hours panicking, googling, and sanitizing my bedroom. I had video footage of the supposed bed bug, and I was convinced. Jon came to the rescue. I called, left a voicemail, and received a phone call back in about 3min. I was able to text him the video I took, and he reported back to me that it was NOT in fact a bed bug. BTW, Jon did this for free. I read other reviews where Jon also performed saintly acts of confirming non-bed bug infestations. This guy goes around spreading goodwill and cheer requesting nothing in return. *Don't start expecting free services, I'm just reporting he's generous and won't rip you off. The only downside of this is that I didn't get to meet Daisy, the bed bug sniffing star. read more

Jon and his adorable dog were both so incredibly professional and thorough. They came in for a visual inspection and a canine sniffing test. Jon used shoe covers and was incredibly neat, knowledgeable, and efficient throughout the inspection process. I selected Bed Bug Inspection Group (BBIG) when I saw that the company "is an independent bed bug inspection company dedicated to providing thorough and accurate inspections to commercial and residential property owners." I was thrilled with their services and could not recommend BBIG more highly. read more

Could not recommend Jon more highly. Incredibly professional, thorough, kind, knowledgeable and calm--he was a godsend at a very stressful time! If you are ever in the position of needing his services, you could not find a better person to help. read more

I found a bug's exoskeleton on my dog's tail and immediately jumped to conclusions especially since I had gotten a few unidentified bug bites while asleep and all of this was exacerbated with all the recent news about bed bug infestations. I immediately started tearing apart my bedroom on the hunt for more evidence before my friend sent me a link to Jon's Yelp page and encouraged me to take it one step at a time and get confirmation that I had a bed bug problem before going nuclear. I called Jon and he picked up on the third ring. He was incredibly patient and friendly as he listened and asked me to send him a photo of the bug I found. Within 2 minutes, he confirmed the bug was in fact not a bed bug. What a huge sigh of relief! Jon is a godsend. I could not recommend him more highly!! Jon was professional, knowledgeable, and efficient. He seems honest and trustworthy. His service included a visual check he did, and a canine sniffing detection. His price is fair and comparable to others, after asking around. Luckly he did not find anything, but it was worth the peace of mind. If you are concerned and losing sleep, I recommend hiring Jon. read more

We were pleased to see that BBIG is not affiliated with any extermination company. We called on Saturday and they came Sunday morning. Very careful visual and dog-assisted examination. Fortunately they didn't find any sign of bedbugs. read more

Jon was great! He came with his dog the day after I sent the request. He was diligent and pulled apart my bed. He and his dog didn't detect anything but I'm really glad I used this service to confirm. read more

Incredibly fast to respond, even outside of working hours. Jon was super helpful & honest. Really saved my day

I am so thankful to Jon and Sway. My spouse and I had been getting occasional bites for some time, but we kept thinking that they were mosquito bites. After all, we had not traveled or gone much of anywhere since the start of COVID. It wasn't until I woke up with 12 bites on my neck one morning that I realized this was no mosquito. Jon came the day after I called, and Sway quickly confirmed that bed bugs were in the bed slats. I called my building's management group and lo and behold, the neighboring apartments also had bed bugs (why the management company didn't alert us is another story). It turns out that my next-door neighbor had a SEVERE infestation, but refused treatment for months, so the infestation spread to a dozen or so other apartments. Anyway, I highly recommend Jon and Sway. If it wasn't for them, I would not have had the evidence needed to spur my building's management company into action. read more

Cannot say enough positive things about Jon and Sway! Jon fit us in same day for an inspection amidst a potential bed bug scare and when he arrived he was so polite, knowledgeable, information, personable, and importantly, thorough! We have had other bed bug inspections and they did not hold a candle to Jon and Sway. Jon truly analyzed every possible crevice of our apartment, moving cushions and pillows and slats and whatever else he could find. We feel very lucky that neither Jon or Sway found any bed bugs and we feel like a weight has been lifted off our shoulders because we trust no corner was left unturned with Sway and Jon! read more

We had a great experience! After dealing with numerous incompetent or outrageously expensive inspection services, I took to Yelp and found BBIG. Jon was super responsive and was able to come the same night with Sway to investigate. They did multiple, thorough rounds and eventually gave us the all clear. The price was super reasonable as well. I highly recommend calling these guys if you are ever in the same position. read more

I would never hope to recommend this type of service to anyone but god forbid I do, then I would recco this guy (points to Jon and daisy). Had a few friends come over, one of whom had BBs but never told us. My gf found out from other people about our infested friends and became livid and paranoid. She started saying how itchy she was and how the dog seemed to have been scratching more. I told her it was all in her head but she's a lawyer and a loquacious one at that, so many blah blah blah legalese blah blah blahs later she convinced me to call up this guy (points to Jon and daisy again) . Jon sounded professional and the rates were reasonable, but best of all Jon (and daisy) was PROMPT in coming over 2 hours after I called BBIG. Jon and Daisy spent a thorough 2 hours sniffing out every crook and cranny in my apartment and told us we didnt have bed bugs. The money spent is easily worth getting my girlfriend to shut the hell up in a timely manner. read more

We had a great experience with Jon! He is thorough, professional, and affordable. A few weeks ago my fiance and I were in town visiting his family in brooklyn and the first night i slept there i was having problems. I wasn't sure what it was because i'm allergic to a lot of stuff but when i woke up it looked like i had a rash on my arms and it was really itchy. We thought it might be bed bugs (we've lived in new york for years) so my fiance called these guys to have his parents' house checked out. thankfully, jon came out the same day we called. He and his dog searched their house and determined that there was an infestation. Glad we did this otherwise his parents' wouldn't have guessed. Highly recommend! read more

I called Bed Bug Inspection group because a friend used them when she had what turned out to be bird mites. Unfortunately for me I wasn't so lucky. While on vacation I wrongly brushed off my bites as mosquito bites and apparently brought the suckers home. I finally decided to call an inspector after getting numerous bites. I had my bedroom and roommate's room inspected. Their dog signaled on the mattress and my closet (where my luggage was) but my roommate's room was fine. To further confirm the presence of bugs, a visual inspection was done and I was shown evidence of dark black spots on my relatively new mattress. I told them how I probably got it and they advised me to always check the mattress for these spots whenever I go on vacation - even if it's a fancy 5 star hotel, you never know!! read more

If you're reading this debating if you should hire this company. DONT HESITATION FOR A SINGLE SECOND. Let me start out by saying I have a HUGE bed bug phobia. Huge. I have all white sheets (which I change weekly upon my own visual inspection) a mattress encasement, bed bug trappers on all my furniture and the like. I know their different stages, their patterns, etc. I cross the street when I see a mattress on the sidewalk. I'm insane. I know. So when I woke up with a couple mysterious bites that looked even remotely possibly maybe like bed bug bites, like all rationally-minded people I freaked the fuck out. I had used a different dog sniffing company a while back upon moving to my new apartment (just to be sure) and I felt like the whole process was rushed and not very thorough. He simply walked the dog around my apartment without moving anything and then said "you're clear". Not Jonathan. Most professional encounter I've ever had. My boyfriend called him at 8:30am and he was at our door by 10am. He pulled our bed apart, checked each individual slat. He even folded our sheets upon removing them to check the mattress. He took pictures off the walls, pulled apart our pull out couch, went through our closets. Making sure that he asked if we were ok with him moving and touching things along the way. He checked every pillow. EVERYTHING. and he wore booties as to not track dirt. I was so impressed. He told us he saw no signs of any bedbugs whatsoever but that the dog still needed to do its work because sometimes she can be more thorough. When he took the dog out she immediately went to work. The previous company had to point to exactly where it wanted the dog to check. Not "sway". Jonathan walked her around our apartment and she sniffed EVERYTHING on her own. He put her back in the cage and said he's going to reassemble the apartment (he took EVERYTHING apart remember?) and have her sniff again. Sway did another inspection of the apartment and still no signs bedbugs (thank the lord). He said the few bites I got could be a spider (probably) or even aggressive mosquitos. If his work can assure ME of all people that my apartment is actually beg bug free, he is a miracle worker. And he did exactly that. I feel so confident in his work and his inspection. God forbid I ever have another scare I know exactly who I will call without hesitation. Call them. Call them NOW. read more

Jonathan and his dog were AMAZING!!. He picked up the phone on three rings, and was inside the apartment doing the check up within 2 hours. This was money WELL SPENT. It was a complete pleasure working with him, and a relief to know that the apartment had not been affected. Thank you Jonathan! read more

What a relief! Jonathan and Sway did not give me the all clear, but gave me priceless peace of mind. I now know the probable size of my problem and what to do about it. Jonathan is a pro from start to finish, thorough, calm and informative. With Sway also on the case, I felt very well taken care of. When you are stressed about bedbugs, you really need someone this patient, expert and prompt. Plus you get to watch Sway on the hunt. Thanks Jonathan and Sway. read more

Jonathan responded very quickly to my Yelp request and I made a same-day appt. He arrived wearing a mask and put on disposable booties which I appreciated. Was discreet, calling first to make sure it was OK to arrive with the dog who was in a small carrier. Jonathan did a very thorough inspection himself before leading his dog through. Dog was very focused and responded to commands professionally. While nothing was detected, several years prior this team pinpointed precisely the origin of that particular bedbug problem. I feel very confident in Jonathan and his dog's ability and highly recommend. read more

I wouldn't wish bed bugs on my worst enemy, but I'd send friends and enemies alike to BBIG. Jon picked up the phone on the first ring and offered to be at my place the next day. He was right on time, wonderfully polite and personable, and wildly conscientious of my space and belongings. He even put little sanitary booties over his shoes. He went over my bed very carefully, inspecting sheets, pillowcases, and blankets with an eagle eye and then folding everything with hospital-corner precision while asking me questions about when and where I'd been bitten, etc. After flipping up the mattress and examining the box spring he informed me that we did, in fact, have bedbugs (SEE, HUSBAND? I'M NOT CRAZY), and showed me how to tell the difference between bedbug droppings (ewwwww) and regular dirt. Even though the visual inspection confirmed my suspicious, he still let Daisy out of her crate and had her check out our apartment. Naturally, she freaked the f*** out when she got to our mattress, as well as our couch and the coat closet (Jonathan said that was maybe because we had bugs in our vacuum cleaner, which we keep there). Fortunately we were already planning to move in a couple of weeks and had heard about the truck fumigation service. Jon confirmed that we were using the right one and told me to book it independently instead of through our movers to save money. All in all, the visit took less than an hour and told me everything I needed to know. I hope you never have to deal with the itchy crazy creepy crawlies, but if you do, call these guys. read more

Extremely kind, generous, and professional. Jon did an amazingly thorough job and Sway was so wonderful and impressive. Jon answered all of my questions and in the end we didn't have bedbugs but he also has a 30 day warranty in the very unlikely chance that Sway missed something. He doesn't take card, but takes venmo! read more

Pros: Professional, Thorough, Punctual, and Polite. Cons: None. You will regret not calling him if you suspect you have a BB infestation. Jonathan was extraordinarily polite, accommodating, and thorough. We had one bug show up in our apartment and we freaked. We called BBIG and they were here within hours, on time, and did a full inspection of our home. He explained everything, made sure we were kept abreast of all that was happening as he went, and asked us if we had any questions afterward. After he released the cute little hound we were double assured of this being a singular incident, but he still gave us follow up options to be aware of should it reoccur. Could not have ask for a better turn out, BBIG is worth every penny! read more

I called Jonathan after 8pm; He was on his way out of the office but still gave me his cell number and told me to send him the pictures I had of the bugs. Despite the late hour, he confirmed that these were bedbugs and recommended I get treated immediately. So despite not seeing a dime, I got the best possible customer service. There is no doubt I'll call these guys back if I ever need another inspection. read more

My experience with Bed Bug Inspection Group was great.  Jonathan is amazing, he was very professional to deal with--seriously, a pleasure--on time, polite, respectful (even putting covers on his shoes before coming into my apartment), very calm and patient.  The search (which involved both a visual and canine inspection) was done very thoroughly. The canine inspection was done by an adorable dog named Sway.  Thank goodness the search was negative.  Still, when, a few days later, I found some suspicious looking specs under the seating pillow of my sofa chair, Jonathan reassured me, after looking at the photos I sent to him that they weren't bed bug related.  If you need a bed bug inspection, use them! I cannot recommend BBIG enough. read more

We hired BBIG after reading the reviews on yelp, and we couldn't have been happier with the results. Jon and his beagle, Daisy came by the next day. First, Jon did a manual visual inspection, and then he brought Daisy in to do her job. Thankfully, none of the little creatures were found, but since we had found one in our house the day before, caught it and froze it so Jon could confirm it was, on fact a BB, Jon offered to come back and do a second inspection in two weeks. He also made several suggestions to us. Luckily, we continue to be BB free, but is highly recommend this service. read more

Excellent and thorough service! We didn't end up having bed bugs, but since we're expecting a baby in a few months wanted to make sure. Jon did a thorough visual inspection, followed by Sway the adorable canine who didn't find anything... He put everything back the way he found it. Jon took the time to explain everything, and what we should be looking for.... as well as how not to pick up bugs when we travel... highly, highly recommend this service. Money well spent! read more

Bed Bug Inspection Group - Pest Control Near Me

My office building had bedbugs and went over a month before informing any of the tenants or workers. I panicked and wanted my house checked out ASAP. I almost hope for another scare so she can come again. read more

Jon is amazing! I've now used his services twice, and both times I came away very impressed. He was very prompt with his response and was able to come that same day. His inspection is very mindful, thorough and courteous, and especially while examining very personal spaces during a stressful time. The puppy is quiet, but explores throughout the apartment. I came away with a confidence in his findings and a peace of mind. I cannot recommend BBIG enough. read more

I happily add my very positive experience to the long list of excellent reviews. I hired BBIG based upon the Yelp reviews. I didn't necessarily think I had a "bed bug issue" but I had unidentifiable bites/rash so a friend suggested I check for bedbugs as I travel a good deal. Jonathan was extremely responsive and courteous. He came to my apartment the next day after explaining his process, pricing, etc. He arrived with his adorable dog sequestered in her travel case. Jon is incredibly neat, calm and patient. He explains every step of the inspection. I was shocked at how long he spent checking just my room/bed for bugs. Luckily for me he's quite strong and he willingly took my very plush queen mattress and box spring off the frame in order to check every crevice. I prepared for his inspection by taking the duvets off the beds but I think I should have vacuumed! I was shocked to see how much dust had accumulated within the bed frame itself and under the bed but luckily...other than dust, Jonathan gave my room, bed and entire apartment a clean bill of health based upon his thorough visual inspection. He then let his canine partner do her inspection and she also found no sign of any bed bugs. I had him check out two other family bedrooms just to be completely safe. He then actually waited for me to vacuum up the dust under my bed before restoring the mattress and boxspring. Patient and thoughtful. I thought his price was absolutely fair and he verbally offered me a money back guarantee which I could tell was backed by his integrity. It was a great experience...obviously not the idea of bedbugs...but dealing with a business of great integrity, efficiency and expertise. read more

I had a series of mysterious bites and was driving myself crazy so I looked up different NYC inspectors and came across this page and the rave reviews. Jon lived up to the hype. He answered my late night frantic call on the first ring and was at my house the following afternoon. He did a thorough inspection and was very calm and reassuring... and ultimately he did not find anything. He really knows his stuff and goes above and beyond in terms of the level of customer service. Jon is extremely professional and I would highly recommend him to anyone who thinks they might have bed bugs. read more

Fearing the worst we contacted Jon and sent him pictures of the bugs we had discovered in our apartment. From the images, he stated that we had bed bugs and we set-up a time for him to inspect the following day. When he arrived, he took a close look at the bugs that we had saved in mailing tape and used his expertise to rule that they were not bed bugs! What a relief, and what an honest businessman! (Despite my protests, Jon would not accept compensation for coming all the way up to Northern Manhattan.) We've used Jon in the past for an earlier bed bug incident, and I cannot speak more highly of his professionalism and expertise. read more

My experience with BBIG was very professional and useful. I had Jonathan & his dog come to my apartment on short notice last fall to check for bed bugs. Thankfully, they didn't detect any, which was good peace of mind. I was grateful he ended up finding my actual problem... tiny bird mites crawling in from my window A/C. While I won't go into the nightmare that ensued from then on, I was so lucky Jonathan successfully caught a bird mite on a piece of tape, which was important in showing the exterminator I worked with next. read more

He really put us at ease as how to proceed with clean up. I almost never write a review but I really appreciated his service. If you think you might have an issue, give him a call! A few weeks ago, a uncle of mine suspected that their home might have been infested by bed bugs because they discovered that their next door neighbors had them. Not knowing what to do, they asked around for advice. It just happens that a friend of mine also got infested a few months prior (Not surprising since this is NYC after all, the apparent HQ of all bed bugs) and they recommended a company called Bed Bug Inspection Group that they used to sniff out their bed bug hot spots so they would know if they needed to hire someone to come in and kill them or not. Not wanting to hire a expensive exterminator and possibly poisoning themselves killing bed bugs that did not really exist in their home, I helped them out and gave Bed Big Inspection Group a call. My uncle have some strange hours because he worked in the restaurant industry but the company was very flexible with the schedule and was able to accommodate him easily. Soon, one of the inspectors of the company, Susan came by with her trained dog. She was very patient with my uncle's many questions. And boy did he have many questions because he was worried. Once he was assured that she knows what she was doing, Susan went around the apartment saying "Where's the bees? Where's the bees?". Apparently that is how the dog knows to start seeking out the bed bugs. I wonder why it's not "Where's the bed bugs?". Susan was very thorough with her inspection and soon confirmed that his bed, sofa, and parts of the rugs were already infested. My uncle was very happy with the job that was done. At least as happy as being confirmed that he have bed bugs could be. Now I just need to find a recommendation for an exterminator for him. read more

I spotted and caught a live bed bug last night in my apartment when I came home by our entryway. Worried and freaked out - I put the bugger in a jar and sent a picture of it to Bed Bug Inspection Group. Jon I.D.'d it as a bedbug and was super responsive and came to my apartment this afternoon with his inspection canine, Daisy, and did a full visual and canine inspection. He was very thorough and the inspection came up negative for an infestation thankfully. He gave me great advice on preventative measures I could take in case an adjacent unit is dealing with them and suggested I contact my building management right away to let them know so they can have the adjacent unit inspected. Hoping it was just a straggler I brought in, but am so glad I caught it. Jon was patient and answered all my questions and was very knowledgeable about all things bed bug. I highly recommend his services! read more
