Jon is knowledgeable, kind, professional, and tactful. He is exactly the kind of person you hope to deal with during as stressful a time as a bed bug infestation. A couple of great things about his service: 1. He has answers to any question you could ask him and clearly does lots of professional development, attending conferences, etc. 2. He was prompt in all communication 3. He sends a professional written report immediately after the inspection, which I can imagine would be very helpful when finding an exterminator, or proving to your landlord that you have an infestation 4. He was extremely careful and thorough during the inspection 5. Daisy the dog is well behaved, cute, and clearly well trained and taken care of 6. He keeps in touch after the inspection, to ask if you have any questions or need help This is the kind of family business you can feel great about giving your business to!! read more

Anxiety and sleepless nights are over. It all started when a bed bug was found in the office. Not knowing where it came from we decided not to take any chances and immediately scheduled an appointment with BBIG. Jon arrived promptly and did a thorough walk through of our apartment and didn't find any bed bugs. Jon is very professional answered all our questions and concerns. Thanks again Jon and Daisy. read more

I can't speak highly enough of Bed Bug Inspection Group. Jonathan responded to our call on a Saturday afternoon at 12:30, and was at our apartment by 2:00. He methodically inspected our entire apartment, taking time to answer all of our questions and explain exactly what he was doing and why. He was incredibly knowledgeable about bed bugs and their habits. He didn't hide the truth that we had a small infestation, but was calm and thoughtful with us in a way that really helped to assuage our fears. He helped counsel us thru the next steps of the process and offered some pivotal advice. The beagle that he brought along, Sway, was not only adorable, but spotted bed bugs under our couch in a place that would have been impossible to find. Overall, Bed Bug Inspection Group is a can't-miss first step in the process of going from "OMG I HAVE BED BUGS KILL ME NEW YORK IS A TRASHPILE AHHHHH" to "okay I can deal with this." You can't go wrong using them. read more

I can't recommend these guys enough. I recently had a bed bug scare and was completely freaking out, so I called up BBIG to make an appointment for an inspection. I spoke to Jon on the phone and he was so kind and flexible about scheduling an appointment later that day (I was in a panic and wanted to find out if there were bugs immediately). He arrived promptly and did such a thorough job with the visual inspection of my apartment. His manner was so professional and polite, and he was incredibly patient and knowledgeable when answering my questions. The inspection wrapped up with Daisy, the adorable bug-sniffing beagle. Jon even emailed me to follow up with links to some preventative measures he had mentioned while at my house. It turned out there were no bed bugs, but my peace of mind was worth every penny I spent on this (the price was also reasonable compared to other options). If you have the misfortune of needing this kind of service, BBIG is a great go-to. read more

I've continued to have only positive experiences with Jonathan including a thorough and reassuring inspection and more prompt and informative email exchanges. KEEP UP THE GREAT WORK! read more

This post is way overdue. In early September I called Bed Bug Inspection Group to inspect my 1 bedroom since I found dead bed bug on my bed. Jonathan came over the next morning with his dog Daisy and did a very thorough inspection of my place. First, Jon did a visual inspection on his own of my bedroom and bathroom and he spotted dropping stains on my mattress. Next, Daisy did a full inspection of my apartment and alerted on my bed and in my dresser. I have to say it was one of the worst feelings I've had finding out I had these dreaded creatures. Jonathan obviously noticed my angst and he stayed an extra half hour just answering every possible question I had and offering great advice. He later sent a written report which I was able to forward to my landlord. Jonathan then made follow-up contact the next afternoon to see how I was doing. I cannot express to you how great Jonathan was at making himself available to answer any and all questions, whether through email or phone. It was a great feeling of relief knowing that I could call/write him at any time and get a prompt response. Thanks so much, Jonathan! I'm happy to report that the nightmare is over!!! read more

I have bites on my arms and legs. My doctor recommended getting a BB inspection for my place. After searched the net and read many good reviews on yelp. I decided to go with BBIG. Jon and Daisy (dog) came by the next day. Jonathan was outstanding. He was prompt, thorough, pleasant, knowledgeable & professional. Daisy was well behaved, well trained & cute. Thanks god, they didn't found any bed bugs. I'm very pleased with their services. Highly Recommended!! read more

This company is amazing. After taking an early morning call and listening to all of my concerns they were in my place in a few hours. Jonathan and Sway not only checked my place from top to bottom, they went above and beyond in addressing every concern and question I had regarding bed-bugs. The fact they don't exterminate or suggest exterminators was actually very assuring. I knew all the advice I was receiving regarding methods of extermination were legitimate and not an effort to sell a product. Jonathan told me the right questions to ask regarding methods, chemicals, cost, guarantees, warranties and timeline. Also, worth noting that they are well priced for the service. $300 sounds expensive but the city average is $500. Potentially having bed-bugs in your home is a traumatic, invasive and disgusting prospect; BBIG handles it (and you) with kindness, professionalism and tact. read more

I called Jon in a panic after a sleepless night due to a bug I found crawling on me at 3am. He immediately offered to review a photo and quickly got back to me to reassure me that it was not a bed bug. PHEW! When I asked him how I could repay him for the peace of mind he had given me, he suggested I simply pay it forward to "someone in need". I will, for sure, extend the kindness he showed me, to someone equally in distress. But I also wanted those reading reviews about him to know how decent he is. The fear around bed bugs is real, as is the cost to remediate the problem. Knowing that you're dealing with someone honest and compassionate is one of the few consolations. Thank you Jon! read more

It all started in Amsterdam. I was in that lovely city on business for a week; shortly after checking into my hotel, I chose to do a full inspection of my hotel room in which I found a little questionable bug on the bed. I checked out, threw out my suitcase, did my laundry, etc..(a bit neurotic but anyway) I thought I did everything necessary to avoid a hitchhiker. I was wrong. When I came back to the states, I unpacked and a little teeny tiny hitchhiker made his way back with me. Called a company and after their inspection they said I didn't have anything to worry about. Cut to a month later, I end up seeing an unwanted new roommate hanging out on my bed once again (you know, the kind that may or may not feed off of you for a midnight snack). I immediately came on Yelp and began searching for BB inspectors that actually know what they're doing. Jon was immediately responsive and attentive and came the same day. He spent over an hour on a visual inspection of my room, and then little miss Daisy (kindest dog I've had the pleasure to hang with in a bit) did her inspection, immediately finding the vile of live bugs that Jon hid meaning that dog knows her stuff! Thankfully, no signs of those awful critters were found during the inspection. It'll cost you a pretty penny, but the peace of mind is worth it. I can finally get some quality sleep! Jon & Daisy, you are amazing. Thank you! read more

This guys are great. I called panicked at 9PM after seeing an invader, thinking no one would answer and I'd have to endure a sleepless night wondering if these bugs were truly bed bugs. But sure enough, there was Jonathon on the receiving end of the line very sympathetic to my problems. I sent him a picture of the bug and he very promptly informed me it was just a beetle spider. Phew! Impressed with the responsiveness, knowledge and honesty. While I would've loved to meet Daisy, this was the best outcome I could have asked for. read more

My experience with Bed Bug Inspection Group was great. Jonathan and Susan were uber professional to deal with--seriously, a pleasure--on time, polite, respectful (even putting footies on their shoes before coming into my apartment), and patient. And the search (which involved both a visual and canine inspection) was done very thoroughly by an adorable, well behaved dog named Daisy. Thank goodness the search was negative. Still, when, a few nights later, I found some suspicious looking marks on a mattress, Jonathan came by my apartment for free at 11 p.m. at night (seriously!!!) to take a look and reassure me that they weren't bed bug feces. If you need a bed bug inspection, use them! read more

I actually never even met Jon and Daisy. When I thought I might have bedbugs, I caught the bug and sent Jon a picture asking him how much it would cost to come in and inspect. I figured any company would easily run me around $200, and regardless of what picture I sent, would tell me I'd need a thorough inspection. To my delight and surprise, Jon emailed me back within a couple of hours and told me that the bug I found was not actually a bed bug and that no inspection was necessary. This was a very honest and positive experience. Highly recommend. read more

My experience was SO amazing with Bed Bug Inspection Group that I am writing my first ever business review! I was waking up with bites and had an exterminator come in to have a look at my apartment. Unfortunately, he didn't really do a thorough check, saw a red mark on a decorative pillow and told me I had bed bugs. Another exterminator came in and said I had dust mites but my place is squeaky clean and dust-free. I was still getting bit and at this point not sleeping and showing up to work / spending my weekends red-eyed, riddled with anxiety and out of it. Not knowing who to believe and spending time on the internet with contradictive information on bed bugs made matters worse. I needed to know if I had bb's and feel confident that what I was told was factual. That's when I found BBIG. The rave reviews here on Yelp first drew me in and I have to say, no one has exaggerated! Jon was able to squeeze me in the same day I called - a Saturday mind you - and arrived with Daisy, the dog. Jon was extremely professional and took his time completing a most detailed and thorough check through out my apartment - from the bed and walls down to unscrewing outlet covers and looking through tiny crevices before bringing in Daisy to sniff the place out. The process wasn't rushed at all which was my first assurance things were going to be done right. I learned that Jon and his team got into this business as a result of their own experience with bed bugs, spending well into the four digit #'s and not knowing who to trust (after my initial experience, I can relate), they became a pros on the subject and the dogs as well! Very noble to give back in such a way and I personally prefer to stick with those who know! I did not end up having bed bugs and have to say, it was well worth it as I know for sure now, have peace of mind and my faith is restored in the bug business. Highly Recommended! read more

After I got bed bugs in my last apartment, I was concerned that they might have hitched a ride over to my boyfriend's apartment so I called Jonathan to come check it out. He and Daisy the dog showed up on time (actually a little early!) and explained the whole process to us. Jonathan hid vials of dead bed bugs and eggs with metal mesh tops in places where bed bugs wouldn't be hiding like the air conditioner, etc. He also did a visual inspection of the mattress and boxspring, baseboards, and surrounding are. Daisy found the vials but nothing else, thank goodness! After the visit, Jonathan supplied a report of the visit and a feedback form. Everything was very professional and was much less expensive than the other services. If I ever need inspection help again, although I hope I won't, I'll definitely use the Bed Bug Inspection Group! read more

What a nice, patient guy! Jonathan talked me through a bedbug scare on the phone and, while he easily could have made a profit considering how willing I was to get an inspection, he convinced me that I'm probably fine and just to stay alert for any more signs. If I ever (God forbid) have bed bugs, Jonathan is the only person I'll call. read more

Jonathan and Daisy are fantastic. Jonathan thoroughly inspected our home and Daisy successfully identified the infestation.

So glad I found this company! I turned to Yelp after finding a bug crawling across my bed at 1030pm on Saturday night... Jon not only responded within 20 minutes of my reaching out, but calmed my worries by assuring me that he would be at my place first thing in the morning to perform an inspection. The following morning Jon was at my place at 10am promptly, and then proceeded to perform an incredibly thorough inspection of my room, all while answering all of my questions. This guy is great at what he does- he took everything out from underneath my bed so he could perform a visual inspection, and then he brought his super cute canine friend in to inspect as well. Jon even checked behind the posters and photos I had hanging up on my wall, taking great care to be gentle and cautious with my things. Thankfully, we didn't find any other traces of any bugs, so the one I found was likely a straggler, but Jon promised to come back if I had any further issues in the future. I feel so much better after my inspection, and grateful I found a company that seems like the actually care about their customers as well as their peace of mind. Book with Jon, and you won't be disappointed. read more

HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend to anyone up against a New Yorker's nightmare. What amazing costumer service, knowledge, and thoroughness. Huge thank you to Jon for talking me off the ledge and Sway for confirming no bed bugs !!! read more

Best advice ever! So patient and knowledgable, they were great!

I don't think the Banksy piece had bed bugs, but I appreciate the dogs taste in street art.

Three members of our family had a some insect bites and I was having a nervous breakdown fearing that we were infested with the dreaded BB. I called in Jonathan. He thoroughly inspected our apartment and then had his dog walk through our home. Luckily, no signs of infestation were found. What a relief! Jonathan was a pleasure to work with- he got back to me quickly after I contacted him, was pleasant and helpful when we spoke, showed up on time and calmly answered all of my many questions. He also responded to a text I sent after the inspection. This review is long overdue so I know that Jonathan's findings were on target. read more

My wife found a bug crawling on my daughter's doll beside her bed. We killed it. And called Jonathan first thing in the morning. We sent a photo, and he confirmed it was a bedbug. He was very helpful providing advice on what to do next and exterminators to work with. All for no charge. We really appreciate his help. Would highly recommend. Hopefully, we can find an exterminator that's just as good. read more

Very thorough and professional. They identified one bag in our bedroom that had bugs which allowed us to remove that bag before the problem became larger and much more expensive. It's not cheap, but the value is easily worth paying for. read more

My landlord wasn't taking my personal report of bed-bugs seriously because I wasn't showing any bites so I started to look into getting a dog here to officially report. Jon came by with a beautiful Beagle, who was very well behaved. He confirmed that the bug that i had caught (in tape and put in my freezer) was in fact a bed-bug and then proceeded to do both a visual check himself and two walk thru checks with the dog. The whole procedure was completely low impact. Yes he stepped on furniture but he put little bags on his shoes first, and really its something he has to do to get the dog where you really want them to check. The next day (or maybe even that night), he emailed me an official report that I could send to my landlord and a receipt. It was very helpful. I think the dogs name was Daisy, and she did end up finding a sent of bugs in a trunk near my bed. The report was very easy to forward to my landlord who (finally) immediately took action in getting an exterminator in. I also really like that they are no connected with an exterminator so you can trust that they are there just to evaluate and aren't looking to find bugs for a bigger paycheck. I highly recommend this company. read more

After seeing a few odds bites on my hands and later on my kids, I called the BBIG and Jon and Daisy came over the same afternoon. Jon was very thorough and patient (especially when my kids distracted Daisy). Unfortunately they found evidence of bed bugs in our room, and Daisy found the two vials Jon had placed elsewhere. Jon responded to our many, many questions. I have to trust the other reviews that the price was lower than others since we didn't look elsewhere, but I will say that the experience was well worth what we paid. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

There's a reason these guys always get 5 stars. Having gone through the bed bugs ordeal before, I knew what a pain the extermination process can be. When I found 1 live bug this week, I called BBIG to inspect the apartment with their dog. This was extremely valuable, as I will now not need to go through the whole extermination process and Jon was able to identify the best next steps with low impact to my day to day life. Jon is extremely thorough, able to accommodate my schedule and gave great unbiased advice. The dog was well trained and helped to isolate where the problem was and verify the magnitude of the issue. Cannot recommend this service enough. read more

My wife and I were on vacation in Thailand and she noticed these bites on her arm which resembled bed bug bites. We called emailed Jon from BBIG and sent him some pictures of the bites but it was hard to tell from pictures exactly what it is. He answered all our questions courteously and patiently even though my wife was freaked out by the bites. We scheduled a follow up inspection when we returned to the states and he inspected us right after we landed at our apartment lobby to make sure we wouldn't bring anything back to our home. Talk about customer service! He had Daisy sniff us and our belongings and luckily she found no evidence of us bringing back bed bugs from our trip. After getting the peace of mind from Jon and Daisy, we went upstairs to our apartment. We later found out that it might've been a rash from riding on Elephants since only my wife got the marks and I didn't. I would definitely recommend Jon and Daisy to anybody. The price is competitive and customer service is top notch. read more

Best service in NYC. We called in on a Sunday because we found a suspicious bug traveling through our bed. The person that answered the phone was extremely helpful guiding us with questions about the house and why we thought we had bed bugs. We took a photo of the bug and the inspection group offered to identify it at no extra charge! Luckily we didn't need the inspection but we recommend this service to all new yorkers! read more

I hired BBIG after getting an inspection from a company used by my commercial landlord (we had an infestation at the office, so I decided not to take any chances). First, I had made the appointment with the other company for 1pm, knowing that I had guests from out of town, but the other guy decided to come at 8 am anyway. How embarrassing. I also had to ask him twice to take his shoes off inside my house. He took all of five minutes to walk his dog around both floors of my house, did absolutely no visual check, and declared I had bugs in two areas of my house (one was a couch where hardly anyone sits). I had not had any bites at home, so I was suspicious of this guy's proclamations and decided to get a second opinion. Jon was a total 180. He showed up at the appointed hour, immediately covered his shoes with booties without me having to ask, and meticulously took apart our bed to do a visual check before bringing his dog out. He took a full 1 hour to inspect my house, and cleared me of any infestations. I waited to write this review so a couple of weeks have gone by with no bites at home at all. I really appreciate his thoroughness and integrity. He is worth every penny and I've also recommended him to my commercial landlord. Thank you. read more

After moving into a new apartment, I got suspicious bites. I assumed it was just paranoia, but I decided to get a bed bug inspection just in case. Before making an appointment to come out, Jonathan talked to me for a while trying to make sure that there was actually cause for concern. He doesn't want to come do inspections when they're not needed. Well, there was cause for concern, he came he came out the same day I called, did the inspection, turns out I did have bed bugs. So that's a nightmare, but the point is, Jonathan is very professional, knowledgeable (he answered lots of questions about what to do once he found that I did have the bugs), and independent so he has no incentive to push you towards treatments you don't need. I know other people who have used him since, and they had great experiences as well. read more

Though Jonathan had to give me bad news today and let me know that my apartment does indeed have a bed bug infestation, I could not be more pleased with his service. I woke up with fresh bites for the second time this morning and, now beyond hope that the cause was anything but bed bugs, called BBIG to get a confirming inspection. At first I balked at the price, but when Jonathan arrived just three hours later (short-notice and on a Sunday no less!) and spent more than an hour inspecting our tiny three-bedroom apartment, I feel that it was money well spent. He began by showing us a sample of captured bed bugs so we knew exactly what he would be looking for and soon found indications of an infestation that I never would have noticed on my own. After an extremely thorough visual inspection of all our bedding, curtains, couch, etc, he did a full sweep of the apartment with Daisy, the sweetest and most professional dog I have ever seen. She confirmed the evidence he had found, and that was that. Even if we didn't turn out to have bed bugs, I would have had complete confidence in his professional assessment. He fielded our many questions about next steps with patience, and after he left, went to great lengths to provide me with an official report that I can show my landlord right away. I cannot say enough good things about BBIG -- if you want peace of mind and reassurance that this problem is solvable, this is your team. read more

Jon gladly helped me identify a bed bug via text message and provided some good advice. It was greatly appreciated!

Cannot say enough about Jonathan and Daisy. Jonathan is a true professional who takes pride in his work. He conducted the inspection with thoroughness and care, and is clearly an expert in the field. Although Jonathan gave us news we did not want to hear, he and Daisy were the sole bright spot in the whole stressful and unhappy process. When I needed guidance and advice, Jonathan took my follow-up calls at all hours of the day and was incredibly helpful. Very thankful for Jonathan and Daisy. We would have been lost without them. (Sidenote: This is my first Yelp review. I felt so strongly about sharing my positive experience that I decided to sign up!) read more

Shared a room in a large house in The Hamptons with another couple last weekend, turned out they had an infestation in the bed. Despite no other findings of bugs in the house, and washing and drying all our clothes before leaving, we found a live bug in our apt. the other day. BBIG sent Jon (inspector) & Daisy (dog) that same afternoon. Jon confirmed it was a bed bug, told me how to preserve it (in case I need it as evidence), very patiently answered all of my questions, then did a thorough inspection of my one bedroom apt, probably for about an hour. He found two stains on a pillow, but nothing else. Then Daisy made three alerts in the bedroom. Jon provided helpful advice (buy contractor bags to put our bedroom clothes in, buy mattress covers and climb ups.) He also said I could call his cell phone any time with additional questions, and sent a report of the inspection the next morning. Just an fyi that BBIG doesn't recommend exterminator services (I think it's a political thing), but I still felt the inspection was worth it as I didn't even know if what I had found was in fact a bed bug. I would definitely recommend this company!! read more
