We moved into a building with a massive roach problem, and no one in our building was singing up for monthly treatment, and we were the first due to a sighting we'd had about 6 months ago. When NYC Pest Control came by, they sent their best team!! Xavier is probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He fully educated us on which bugs were most likely to see and where and how to prevent them in between treatment, but most importantly, we noticed during the months we had our apartment treated we had no issues at all whatsoever--even if we left food out or if our bathrooms had moisture, we saw NOTHING. Any month we missed the treatment like if we weren't home when they cane by, we knew it was possible run into a single roach before the next treatment due to the issue on our block. We've only encountered 3 single roaches in a 6 month period and that's once when we moved in and it was not being treated and once after missing nearly 2 months of extermination. Although our super hasn't opted to treat the issue on a building level and leaves it up to apartments, Xavier mentioned having everyone in the building opt to have their unit treated would help our issue. Right now we're working to get our whole building involved because just by treating our unit alone we've seen a massive difference!! I know after Xavier visits, it's guaranteed we won't encounter a single bug. He knows what he's doing!! Bottom line is I have so much confidence in this pest control service based on firsthand experience. These regular treatments have made it possible to live on a highly infested block without having a major issue in our apartment. Xavier is so personable, knowledgeable and diligent. He always gives an update, sets traps around the apartment as a precaution and spends considerable time spraying at risk areas. Super reliable! I need to get rid of some pests off my garden. I asked them through Yelp the chemicals they were using and activities they would be doing. They were very courteous and responsive. The exterminator Bill came, and he was super friendly and helpful. He fan-sprayed everywhere, and gave me tips to quickly eradicate insect pests in the future. He also pointed out to me problem areas in my exterior where I should pay attention to. Overall, very happy with work them, prices were reasonable, and would highly, highly, recommend them to anyone. I am not one to leave many reviews, but Billy's service is above and beyond. I had an issue with a mouse infestation in my apartment, and I also had a dog who is not a fan of strangers. Billy was very patient, working with me to make sure my dog was comfortable and also making sure to spray in areas where my dog could not be harmed by what he was doing. It worked like a charm. A year later, I had a horrible moth issue and Billy took time away from his daughter's birthday party to talk me through what preventative measures I should take before considering service. I reached out and spoke with their office multiple times about service for a small building, spoke with 2 really nice folks (mike and Janice) on 2 separate occasions, each gave the same price. When I finally had the day and date agreement from all the tenants in the building, called to finalize the visit and the price had gone from $250 to $375. I was told that the other two people were incorrect and $375 was always the price in a really rude way. I explained my frustration at a sudden increase of $125 from the agreed upon price and rather than say a mistake was made or that things had changed, I was told that is price, no we will not budge and split the difference or try to figure out something. It just left an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. Called another highly rated exterminator, they told me a price, similar to $250 and now they have my business. I would be cautious with these folks, seems like nothing is certain. read more

My daughter saw a mouse and freaked out. I called my friend Caryn and she reccommended NYC Pest Control and to ask for Aurelio. He was prompt and provided excellent service. He inspected my whole house and found possible entry points that I wouldn't have noticed. He was very patient and reassuring. He was very knowledgeable when using traps/poison since I have pets. THESE PEOPLE ARE AMAZING. Angela was like a friend I already knew. She gave me her home number and said to text her at any time, day or night! She did this, I am sure, because of the state of frenzy bugs can put people in. When I told her my progress at home with a certain horrifying and spread like wildfire bug, yes BED BUGS, she texted that she was proud of me and I glowed like a praised child. In the end, my landlord paid (as I think is law) for a different company to come. But still Angela was so kind upon even hearing this. By the way, I am a success story of eradicating bed bugs by myself (if it is a new infestation you can find them and do this, if you are obsessed, which you will become stat.) True, the other pest control person per my landlord came, but he said he didn't see any because I had done such a good job. (No bites since, this was a month and a half ago.) We have a fabric headboard and let me tell you: look into that if you have one, avoid if you do not. At first glance, even LOOKING for the things, I couldn't see any. Upon obsession, THERE THEY WERE. You must find and kill each one. Go around with a roll of tape, a flashlight, and a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol. Stick each bug or egg (puke, I know) on the tape and roll it up to seal it. Stay up late or set an alarm to find a bug traipsing about and see where it goes: there you will find its little town, where they like to hang out, live, die and breed, and you yourself can then go to town on an eradication spree. They aren't fast. They move like lady bugs, without the flying. So they're not so scary. I was lucky to catch them early. But I'm writing this just in case anyone is in a similar situation and wondering if the next few months of their life is going to be hell because bedbugs equal hell. Mine were not! So it is possible to have a little tiny not yet horrible, squashed when obsessive bedbug prob. But if not, call these people. Or, call them anyway. Angela will help you. This review is overdue. In July, I realized that there were bed bugs in my apartment and came to Yelp for a recommendation knowing my landlord couldn't be trusted and I was too embarrassed to ask friends if they have had a similar problem. I called a few folks but Billy was the first to get back to me and rather than sell me services immediately gave me a step-by-step guide to DIYing my home first to see if that might be enough to control them. As my luck normally dictates, it wasn't and I called Billy back to make an appointment. He was so easy to work with and we got something scheduled immediately- he clearly knows how to talk to someone on the brink of a bed-bug related meltdown. Billy came to do the treatment- he was friendly, respectful and informative. He showed me proof of the bugs (that I could never find aside from the bites) so I knew I wasn't crazy, sprayed quickly and efficiently and left me with piece of mind. He even told me how to care for my dog around the chemicals. One of his guys came back two week later for the second spray- was just as awesome- and for two months I have been living blissfully bed bug free. Unfortunately, there seem to be bed bugs in my building- as evidenced by the number of mattresses being thrown out. I recently woke up with some bites. Bed bugs? Mosquito? Not sure. I called Billy immediately and he was once again helpful and understanding. He's ready to come back as soon as I make the call and I literally couldn't ask for better service then what I received from the folks at NYC Pest Control. My mom is a 93 years old snd currently bed-bound. With different Home Health Aides in the home we had la problem with bed-bugs in the past. Recently there was another claim made by a Home Health Aid. I suspected this claim was used to get money for a service my mom would receive for free from the Management Company. As, the Home Health Aide continued to solicit money for service related to bed bugs, Marianna knocked on the door. She began to inspect my mom's home and spoke with the Home Health Aide. The surprise look on her face suggested she was inciting a deep concern for possible bed bugs. Marianna eased my concerns which was incited by the Home Health Aide . Marianna educated her about bed-bugs as well. Marianna is always professional, caring and my mom is always glad to see her. Marianna is a very kind and caring person. Her disposition is always pleasant. She is extremely knowledgeable and highly skilled in her field. Marianna is a tremendous asset to NYC Pest Control. Wow - nothing like a good neighbor. We noticed 3 or 4 roaches last month, then another today and called Bill at NYC Pest Control to make an appointment for treatment. On the phone I explained to Bill that we put down "Combat" roach baits 3 weeks ago, but saw another roach today and we were ready to call in the local pros. Rather than pushing me to make an appointment, Bill advised that we give the bait another week or two to kick in (apparently it can take 3 weeks to take full effect) and also advised that we lay down a few tape strips to help us detect the extent of the problem. I plan to repost in a week or two - either this problem is gone via the bait traps (and good honest advice) or I am calling in the pros! read more

It seems that my apartment building is having a fly problem. We thought it was just our apartment, and wondered why, about a month ago, we began to be infested with them. I mean infested, so that we were killing 30 or 40 per day, and (of course) new ones always appeared in their place, and we had no idea where they were coming from. Although my cheap landlord decided to go with "his guy," who has been uncommunicative and whose effectiveness still remains to be determined, Angela still answered all of my questions -- even though she knew we had hired someone else. After a month of true hell, we're finally able to sleep through the night thanks to Billy, Angela, and the NYC Pest Control team. We found bedbugs right at the start of the coronavirus pandemic, and despite the entire city shutting down around us, they jumped right on our case. Our landlord insisted on a second opinion -- which took two weeks after a string of no-shows -- and when this other provider said they could get it done in one single appointment with an aerosol treatment, we didn't buy it for a minute. We pushed back on our landlord, and couldn't be happier that we did: Billy confirmed that we had a highly unusual case that would need 4-5 treatments. I could not control the infestation on my own and life had become unbearable in my apartment In desperation I used an online service and I was connected to NYC Pest Control. I had an appointment in less than 3 days. The team arrived early. Always a plus in my books. They explained what was going to happen, what I needed to do afterwards, and then I was promptly booted out the apartment so they could get started. They were quick and efficient. The technicians that helped me were professional, smart, and kind. I could not have asked for a better team to provide my service. The next day I got a call about the balance of payment as I had prepaid I asked for time to resolve the issue. Ms. Swann worked with me to help get this resolved. Everyone was nothing but kind and understanding and willing to work with me to get the payment issue resolved. I would have not liked to pay twice for the service but I was not willing to let NYC Pest Control take the hit for this issue. I would have paid the bill twice if it had come down to that! I think that should say more than enough about the care and service I received. (Honestly, I wouldn't be happy about paying twice but I would have done it because its the right thing to do. I live in a co-op and saw a mouse in my unit and messaged NYC Pest Control. They responded right away and scheduled an appointment immediately. Billy came over and he looked around and then said, "You know, your building should provide an exterminator. I don't want to do the work and charge you if that's something they provide." I called my building and he was right. They said they would send someone over. He was kind enough to look under my radiator anyway and spot at least one entry point for the mouse. He offered to look for more since he was already here but I told him I didn't want him to work for free. He said it was his pleasure to be helpful and then he went on his way. It's rare that you find someone that honest and caring in these small contract jobs, much less the world at large. So I thought the least I could do was write a glowing review for Billy and his team. I had a complete bed bug infestation behind my headboard and this angel of a man came over 3x over 6 weeks to check and spray, he was super responsive to my many many texts and phone calls AND he offered to swing by my cat sitters apartment to check around (in case any bed bugs hitched a ride on her) free of charge! My father has a house in the Gowanus area. There has been lots of development in the area which brings out lots of pests. My dad has tenants that reported a rat in their apartment. They have an 18 month old baby so it needed to be taken care of right away. I needed someone who was in the area and could come to take care of this right away. I spoke to Angela who asked me some questions and was able to speak to my tenant as well. We made an appointment and the tech came out.
