I never write reviews, but this company deserves one. James was exceptional! He saw our problem through to the end and came back to make sure our issue was resolved, even though our property was out of his way. Reliable, honest, great communication, and worth every penny! read more

I thought I had a bed bug problem and immediately began to panic, as most people usually do. I decided to call a professional to come and take a thorough look. Before deciding on this company, I called two other local companies, both of which were expensive and were insisting upon a canine inspection. After reading other 5-star reviews for Northeastern Exterminating, I decided to give them a call, and I'm glad I did. I explained my issue to Joe, who worked to calm my nerves about this situation and thoroughly explained everything that would occur with his company's home inspection, to be performed by his son, James. I wanted an appointment ASAP, and although Joe could only offer me an appointment for several days later, he assured me that he would keep my number at the ready just in case they had a cancellation. The night before my inspection, I received a text message from James confirming the time he would arrive, the price that was agreed upon, and simple instructions for how to prep for the inspection. The next morning, I received another text about an hour before the scheduled time to pinpoint the exact time he would be arriving - which is insanely helpful and courteous. Upon arrival, right on time, James asked me about my situation and immediately got to work performing a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the three bedrooms in my house, from floor to ceiling. The bed, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, etc. everything was carefully inspected while he explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and even what I could do in the future to put my mind at ease. He made sure to look at everything I asked him to, and could not have been more easygoing and professional. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Prompt, affordable, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. On top of that, they are a family-run business, which is always a good thing. Give them a call and you will not be disappointed. read more

They did a good job and were easy to deal with . Guy was friendly and did a good job . Recommend

We did exactly like we said and had Joe and his son treat our backyard for a very important family gathering - our daughters dedication! Our family was so impressed and couldn't believe how comfortable they were to be in our backyard without warding off mosquitoes every minute! Joe is known to work miracles and he indeed did just that! From our family to yours Joe, many thanks! read more

I reached out to them for a survey of a potential pest situation. James came and provided an honest assessment and made some sound suggestions on how to proceed. He did not exaggerate the problem as some other company would have ,to make more money. I'm glad I went with Northeastern Exterminating and will be referring them to my friends. read more

I'm sure for most of you looking up exterminators you must be stressed. I know I was until I found these positive reviews and spoke to Northeastern. Joe was able to put me at ease right away - he is an expert! He reassured me that everything was going to be ok. He took the time to explain in detail the causes for termites and the treatment plans. He was patient, knowledgeable and went above and beyond to calm me down. He told me not to worry about it and to call him when I was ready to start the project. I was so relieved after speaking with Joe that I didn't call anyone else. A few days later I called Joe and we were able to get the inspection going right away. Joe's son, James, did the inspection for us. James was reliable, thorough and detailed. He called me after the inspection and explained everything to me and we moved forward with the extermination. I am happy to say that we are an extremely happy customer - and termite free! I am telling everyone about this family owned business with 40+ years expertise! They are some of the most genuine, good-hearted people you'll ever meet who truly care about their customers and will treat you like family. I wish I could give them more than 5 stars! :) read more

Joe did an incredibly thorough job addressing a big ant issue in our basement bathroom! He figured out where the ants were coming in from outside and was meticulous in his treatment. Two weeks later, and no ants! read more

This company was excellent to work with. I called them at 2:30 pm after waiting hours and hours for another exterminator. They were able to set up an appointment that worked with my schedule for the following day (instead of my taking the whole day off from work). John was prompt, thorough, and answered all my questions. He arrived when he said he would, finished when he said he would, told me exactly what to expect, and put my mind at ease about his work and my two dogs. I would call these folks again in a second, and recommend them to everyone I know. Hopefully you don't need an exterminator, but if you do, I highly recommend this company. read more

From my first chat with Joe at Northeastern Exterminating, I felt a sense of relief that he not only understood my rodent issue, but he had a very clear, actionable plan to fix it. I had tried another service before this one that was not able to solve my problem and wanted more money for subsequent follow-up visits. Joe offered a 30-day guarantee and the true feeling a being a partner in helping with the problem. Joe's son, James, did the initial inspection and service. I found James to be extremely personable and understanding to the needs of our household. He was also very clear about what he was doing, looking for and why all decisions were made. After the first visit, James proactively kept in contact to check the status, which I greatly appreciated. As it turned out, our issue was completely resolved after the initial visit. I would recommend this family-run business to anybody in the area in need of pest control service. They are fair, honest and genuinely want to build a relationship to understand their client's needs and provide excellent service. read more

James came to the rescue again recently with another troubling pest situation. I didn't think twice about contacting him; I would never go to anyone else for help battling bugs in NYC. He has qualities that you never thought you needed in an exterminator: kindness, supportiveness, a calm demeanor, and responsive communication skills. He's transparent and fair in his pricing. And of course, he is an expert in his field and stands by his work (unlike some chain-owned pest-controlled companies). You can definitely feel confident that he'll get the job done. Support family-owned, local businesses and go with Northeastern Exterminating! read more

I've worked with James a few times, he is professional, efficient, and friendly. Most recently he came to spray for ants and was quick and communicative, and made sure we were informed and happy. Each time I've talked with him he's been generous with his knowledge and addresses the problem with skill. Thanks James and Northeastern! read more

I highly recommend Northeastern Exterminating Co. Inc. James sent me a quote within minutes of contact. I had a hornets nest under my awning. He sent me a quote and after assessing the job in person charged less than the quote estimated. He was fast, efficient and honest! read more

Spoke with joe on the phone about really needing an appointment because I was worried I had bed bugs. James came out to inspect my entire apartment--all the corners, nooks, and crannies to make sure there were no bed bugs. He answered all the questions I had and was able to put my mind at ease because he was able to explain everything easily. These guys are amazing and really stand by their work. Definitely give them a call if you think you have bed bugs! read more

Our initial experiences with Northeastern Exterminating were good, as we had an issue with water bugs that they resolved. James was responsive and offered good customer service. Some months later, after discovering a rodent issue, we texted the company to have James come back, and we received an accidental reply from his father Joe that was very off putting and unprofessional. After discussing the situation with James more in depth, we understand that he is the primary person dealing with customers, and he apologized for the issue with Joe, which we appreciate it. Unfortunately we are left with a sour taste in our mouths and most likely won't be using them in the future, but it is only due to the text interaction with Joe. James provides a good service. read more

Excellent experience. I have an Ant problem and called a few pest control businesses. Chose Northeastern after speaking with Joe, who was very knowledgeable, helpful and kind on the phone. And their quote was super reasonable! James came out as scheduled, spent a long time carefully examining my house and outside areas, and ultimately advised me to take care of a structural issue where the ants are entering before doing any treatment. He didn't want to take any money if he wasn't going to be able to resolve the issue. So I got a really solid consultation and expert advice for free, and we have a good plan in place. Thanks so much!! read more

Great family business. So friendly, scheduled quickly, on time, thorough check for termites, precautionary sprayed. We will use them again! And we highly recommend them! Great service!! read more

James was fantastic helping me with my bed bug (non-)situation. After finding a single live bug in a strange place, I freaked out and got an inspection from a different company. They have tons of great reviews and they come and do a canine inspection. Note at this point we had no other evidence of bugs, no bites on anyone, etc. Long story short, they claimed to find evidence in my couch (which no one else could see) and recommended very expensive (above market) treatment. While under the influence of fear I threw away my couch, but before accepting their treatment I listened to that little voice in my head telling me something was wrong, and went back to Yelp to find that other people had similar odd experiences with them, and decided on a second opinion. While looking for another company, I found Northeastern, read every review, and found that one of them even sounded like my situation. So I reached out, explained what happened, and got another inspection. James did an incredibly thorough inspection, looked under/inside everything, checked every nook; I was super impressed by his professionalism and dedication. It was night and day compared the other place. And I was happy to hear that there was nothing here (and likely never was). Super impressed with them from the initial email communication through the actual appointment, and follow-up; just great all around. read more

I'm writing this out of gratitude to owner, Joe and his son, James and to help people find a great exterminator when in need. Northeastern Exterminators provided for my family excellent extermination service that cleared out a situation we had here in time so that I felt comfortable in the house for this holiday season! Such a relief:) Also, the customer service of this business is perfect...trustworthy and sincerely wanting to help their customers and not just sell them something. Experienced exterminators, and good people / great family business! Thank you. You will be happy you got their help! read more

Ok, nobody wants to call an exterminator. But, there's a first time for everything. After sending a picture of a bug we found (that we thought was a tick!) and speaking with Joe for a few minutes, he deemed it unnecessary to come to our apartment. He told us not to worry, we have a few seasonal little bugs that will disappear shortly. Great! Now we onlyl have to worry about Coronavirus, not ticks! Thanks, Joe! We appreciate your expertise! read more

James is our go-to exterminator. Nobody ever wants to have a problem with bugs, but if you have them, Northestern is who you should call. James is thorough, reliable, honest, fair and trustworthy. I'm so grateful for their services and helping us keep our home critter-free. read more

They did a great job. Answered my calls on their off hours, kept me up to date on their arrival time and were very professional.

I called a dozen exterminators, and Joe at Northeastern Exterminating was by far the best. Most termite treatments are super-nasty chemicals, but when I found one that is *effective, *people-safe, and *eco-friendly (ALTRISET). I couldn't find a single exterminator that had used it, but Joe was thoughtful and open and offered to use it with a two-year warranty (!!). He did a very thorough job, was really careful about my garden, and was delightful to deal with at every stage. And his prices were as good or better than any of the other quotes I got. A win all the way around! read more

Highly recommended! Northeastern Exterminating was very responsive and professional. They gave me a very reasonable estimate to treat a garage for termites and provided a one year warranty for their service. They arrived on time and did a great job with the garage. read more

I called Northeastern the same afternoon I found a bed bug crawling on my sheets (yuck!). Hearing about the ordeal from friends who have gone through the whole bed bug experience, I was so anxious and wanted someone to come take care of the issue ASAP. I spoke to Joe over the phone and he was incredibly knowledgeable and said that he would squeeze me in the next morning and come by himself. Joe arrived the next morning right on time, took a look around my studio, and got to work telling me what needed to be done, how long it would take, what chemicals he was using, etc. We got along so well, and I stayed in the apt. for over 20 minutes just talking to him and helping him search for the nasty culprits. I left for an hour and came back to find a job well done. Joe had treated every surface and went above and beyond by doing extra work in several areas (even getting rid of a small ant problem he noticed as well). It has been a month and I am happy and relieved to say that I have not seen a bug since! Next time I need an exterminator (hopefully never!) I know who to call. You've got a loyal customer, Joe! read more

note: review is for customer service and not actual services. after about a month of inexplicable, sporadic bites, i could only conclude that these bites were coming from bed bugs. i reached out to joseph via yelp messages and received an immediate response, quote (quite reasonable), and availability. they were super helpful and answered my many, many questions about bed bugs, even though i was not even a paying customer yet. even though it was confirmed that bed bugs were present, i did not use northeastern exterminating for treatment (yet) (my building management is providing their service), but should i have any continuing issues after my building's treatment, you bet that joseph is the first person i'm going to call! read more

This review is long overdue! Should have written this review last year but never quite got around to it. Background: A year ago, there was the whole N-Train bed bugs news that really freaked me out. Around the same time, I had some mysterious bite marks near my upper thigh (in hind sight, I believed it was a very vicious mosquito that got trapped underneath my blankets and then went feasting). The combo of the bites and the N-Train bed bugs scare has left me sleepless for many nights so I decided to fork over the money and get professional help. I did a lot of yelp-research to find the best pest control company that has high reviews and is affordable-Northeaster Exterminating came up. I gave them a call and they were super courteous and helpful. In fact, the owner allowed me to share my fright and diagnosed that I probably didn't have a bed bug infestation if I only had a one time incident a month ago. He also provided some strategies I can try on my own to see if an inspection is truly necessary, which I so appreciate. In the end, though I didn't exactly see signs of potentially having bed bugs, I decided to do the inspection anyway because I just needed the peace of mind and they were quick to help me set one up. James provided the inspection and was very polite, patient, and thorough in his services. He answered all my questions and made me feel at ease. Overall, Northeastern has been superb! I can't recommend them enough. I hope no one has to worry about bed begs infestation BUT...in the unfortunate scenario where you're unsure or where you do have an infestation-they are the ones to go to. read more

I am adding my excellent review to all the others that James and Northeastern Exterminating have gotten. Yikes! My tenants on the 3rd floor got bedbugs. They hired a bogus exterminating company, and 6 weeks later, my 2nd floor tenants got them. That is when I found, James, from Northeastern Exterminating who treated the problem and resolved it once and for all. Right away, he put everyone in the building (who were all freaking out) at ease. His patience, good listening skills, diligence, understanding and professionalism immediately came through. He spent lots of time inspecting my tenants' apartments and helped them by explaining all of the prepping that was necessary, before expertly dealing with the problem. It has been over a month, and he just came back and re-inspected. Fortunately, there are no longer any signs of bedbugs. He will return in a month to check again, to make sure. I am grateful to James for helping my tenants to get rid of these nasty, unwanted pests. We will bring in the New Year much happier knowing that the bedbugs are gone, once and for all! read more

First, this is a family-owned business, and they care! I have been with Terminix for years, and the kind and quality of service that I get with Northeastern is unparalleled to any exterminator out there. Within days of their first visit, I could tell a huge difference in how their products and service were more effective than the years I have been with Terminix. I also love the personal care and service that Joe and James provide. It's the best. read more

I don't need to reiterate what a nightmare the discovery of bed bugs is, but I'll be forever grateful that I picked Northeastern to help me deal with them. James was so incredibly helpful, patient, non-judgmental and communicative, and just an all-round nice guy to deal with under less than ideal circumstances. Instructions were comprehensive, and the treatment was pet-friendly and quick - and I especially appreciated the follow-up calls and visit to make sure everything was under control. These guys truly want to help you in solving your problem, and it shows. Been happily bed bug free for 6 months now and I have the whole team at Northeastern to thank for it. read more

I can't express enough how helpful and professional the team at Northeastern Exterminating was to us. We were in the middle of selling our apartment - just about to go into contract - when we got bedbugs for the first time in our lives. I don't know if you can imagine the stress this caused. Bedbugs, to us, was our worst nightmare come true. Multiply that by the stress of selling a home. We didn't know if we would be able to go through with the sale. We were certain that our buyers would back out. And on top of that, we couldn't sleep with the thought of those bugs. James is a true professional. He walked us through every step of the exterminating process. And his calm and reassuring demeanor got us through everything. I don't know how he has the patience, but he answered all our calls night and day with questions. And after all was done, he prepared reports for our buyers and their attorney. As it turns out, our sale went through smoothly and on time and both the buyers and sellers are living happily ever after and bedbug-free. I highly recommend them and would use them again, but hope I never have to. Thank you!!! read more

Northeastern Exterminating is a very professional company to work with. Fantastic customer service. Very easy to talk to and reasonably priced. I have heard of bed bugs and have seen documentaries about them and it scares the hell out of me. You never know who has it or if you are sitting next to someone on the bus or subway and one of those little suckers jump on to you and you bring it into your own home or if you invite someone into your home and they unintentionally bring them into your home. I definitely want this company on my speed dial. We had someone who had a bed bug problem but it was caught quickly. We made an appointment immediately and James came in and did a very thorough inspection unfortunately, he did find a problem. We scheduled to get the persons apartment treated ASAP. James then goes through the process of telling you how and what to do to prepare the apartment before treatment. James came back for the second scheduled appointment to treat the apartment. You cannot stay in the apartment during treatment and you have to stay out of your place for a few hours after treatment. I have to say that this person has not had any other problems with bed bugs after his apartment was treated. I will definitely use this company for all future extermination needs. read more

Well, it has been about two months since my unfortunate incident with none other than...bed bugs, and I am happy to say that they are still gone! YAY! I was horrified, mortified and paranoid when I first discovered that I had them. Luckily, it wasn't an enormous infestation, but nonetheless it freaked me out. I pride myself on being extremely cautious, clean and preventative when it comes to buggyness. So I never thought that this would crawl across my radar, but it did. I luckily found Northeastern and they did a terrific job. Joe, the owner, calmed me down various times and assured me that they would resolve my problem. He was always kind and patient and extremely understanding. His son, James came and did the exterminating and once the treatment was done, I did not have any more issues. I HIGHLY recommend them. If I ever have an issue like this again, I wouldn't even think twice about calling them. They sincerely care and they do a great job. read more

Spoke with Joe and he was very helpful providing us with information and expertise to help us deal with a bed bug problem. Gave great advise and confidence to us in being able to deal with the issue. Amazing customer service. I haven't written a yelp review in years but Joe deserves this compliment! I called in a frantic panic because I had tons of bites when I woke up this morning. If you want an honest customer service experience, seriously, give them a call. I can't explain how amazing Joe is!!!!!!!! read more

As someone who doesn't like poison being sprayed in the house, I cannot believe I am writing a 5 star review for an exterminator! But the experience I had with James was truly beyond 5 stars. First off, his communication is excellent from the first message I write here on YELP to a written thank you note I received in the mail after his visit. While he was here, he inspected my entire house, placed the poison carefully into cracks and crevices and was extremely attentive to the fact that I was scared my dog would ingest some of the poison. He was professional, thorough and just super super nice. I would highly recommend that you call James for any of your pest control needs, or if you are just in need of a friend...he's awesome. Oh, and my bugs are GONE too! read more

Bed bugs, no one wants to admit it and especially at first you don't believe. These guys are the real deal, father son combo with exceptional interpersonal skills. After a few weeks of trying to combat the problem myself and a nagging pregnant wife I submitted. Needless to say we are two months after and still bed bug free. These guys are the best! Money well spent. Keep up the great work guys. read more

Update: we used Northeastern for rodent issue in our rental apartment. James was very professional. He was able to fit us in the next day and worked around my tenant's schedule. The cost truly included my peace of mind because I don't have to stress out about this anymore. So glad we found this company! Thanks again, James! read more
