There is a reason these guys have 5 stars! TLDR: I arrived to visit my daughter in Brooklyn only to be greeted by a mouse flitting from one side of the kitchen to the other on the 2nd night. On the third night it ran over my toes while washing dishes. UGH. My daughter had just moved to the apartment 2 weeks earlier and said that the previous tenant had a mouse but that the landlord said he took care of it. Nope, the landlord did not. But, James from Northeastern did. What impressed me from the get go was he got back to me quickly to get a quote for services and to schedule the appointment so it could be taken care of before I flew back to California. He texted to confirm the appointment the day before, and showed up on time as promised. He spent a good amount of time investigating the areas where the mouse could be coming from and identified those areas. He set traps, cleaned out mouse excrement and blocked off areas of access. He also sent a follow up email highlighting the steps that needed to be taken to ensure that we wouldn't have a repeat of the situation, so we could forward that to the landlord. He moved the stove and fridge to make sure there weren't holes and checked behind the kitchen cabinets. He identified areas near the radiators where there were problems. He also advised us about installing a door sweep to ensure that they could not come through the front door. He was thorough and gave good advice. He also volunteered to help us get a heavy AC unit out of the window. They didn't just come in here and pump up ugly foam (which James said mice could eat through) all over the place like the previous attempt at extermination... They did the job thoroughly and professionally and gave us a warranty! Thank you Northeastern, rodents are gross, and now my daughter can enjoy her new apartment in peace. read more

Rarely you get excellent customer service and prompt response to an emergency. About a few months ago I had a situation with a couple of bed bugs. Now prior to the Northeastern Exterminating coming in, the building management had their own exterminators that assured the problem would be contained. After a few months of battling and another few months of just observing, the problem seemed to be no more. One morning that all changed and measures had to be taken. After gathering some evidence I contacted Northeastern Exterminating and within half an hour got a response confirming my situation. They were prompt and extremely empathetic to the situation, and showed up the next day to inspect the apartment. James was extremely knowledgeable and took the concerns and questions I had head on. He assured me that everything was going to be fine and gave me a plan of action before coming to exterminate the same week. I can't stress enough the level of service provided was both exceptional and meticulous. James knows his craft, his professionalism is top tier. I can't believe I never left a review for them. Three years ago, I found out I had a massive Bed Bug infestation in my apartment that apparently was going on for over 6 months, that my landlord was too lazy to take care of or hire a professional company to deal with. I would wake up in the middle of the night and I would see one on my bed, filled with my blood or on the walls. I had a 70 year old mother and a disabled sister living in the apartment, so I was more concerned about how this was going to affect them. After looking around to find a professional exterminator that can deal with bed bugs with no muss or fuss, I contacted Northeastern Exterminating and they asked me to catch one and photograph it to ensure that it was bed bugs. After they confirmed it was, they scheduled a visit and though charged for the initial visit, it was added to the total cost of the treatment. The best part was that they did it in one treatment, ONE TREATMENT!!! Most of the time it takes 3 or more treatments to handle these pest, because many of them are resistant to most insecticide. Also, the first treatment is usually meant to kill the ones that are visible, the second is to kill the ones that come out of hiding and didn't die from the first treatment and the third time is to kill the eggs that hatch afterwards. Even though I did still see them a few days after the first treatment, which is expected, three weeks later, I would randomly wake up at 3 o'clock in the morning out of habit, because of all the past bites that I had; sure enough, no more bed bugs. I am glad to say that after 3 years, I've had not one incident of a bed bug re-occurrence that has happened. Never thought that I could feel comfortable having an exterminator come to my home with what could have potentially been a scary disaster. i got a fast appointment despite that fact that it was a holiday, James came on time ready to inspect. I contacted Northeastern Exterminating to provide a basic extermination for my new place. James and Joseph are the absolute nicest people ever. James came to do my extermination, and he did a great job. He checked for signs of rodents and put down some traps just in case. Okay, I waited super long to write this review because I was still traumatized/scarred/humiliated/terrified from our bedbug disaster. I think I can say with certainty Northeastern did the trick. Not only that, the guy who visited our apartment (three times with no extra fees) was amazingly sweet and supportive. If you're struggling with bedbugs, you know that half of the battle is psychological, and these guys provided not only the bug-killing chemicals but also the smiles and reassurance that everything would be okay (it was!). Okay, now for the gory details -- it took us a while to realize we had a problem, because we were also suffering from an occasional mosquito problem last summer. I'd wake up with a bite or two, find a mosquito in the apartment, and think nothing of it. Long story short, not all of those were mosquito bites. We called Northeastern the day after we saw the first bug, they were there by the end of the day, and gave us a full list of instructions for how to prep for the treatment, and some helpful practical advice that you wouldn't think of (don't start sleeping in another room or douse your bed with over the counter pesticides -- these cause the critters to disperse and spread before the professionals come in). The treatment was actually fairly straightforward. We cleaned up the mattress/boxspring, bagged up our clothes and linens, they came and treated the entire bedroom, then told us to wait a couple weeks to unpack in case we needed a second treatment. I found a few dead/dying bugs for the next few days (and my new best friends at Northeastern even responded to weekend text messages assuring me that this was part of the process), they came back for one follow-up treatment two weeks later (no extra charge), and that was it. Of course, it took a couple months of freaking out about lint/crumbs on the sheets before I believed that everything was okay. But Northeastern did things right the first time, and we haven't had a problem since. read more

I am a new home owner and had visual damage from termites in my basement. i wasn't sure if i needed treatment or if the termites were already gone. Joe came by and was very informative. I almost never post reviews but I just had to. Joe deserved all the raves he has gotten. I had called a couple of exterminators because I was afraid i had bed bugs. I left a message with Northeastern but before they called me back I reached another who advised that I schedule an appt which was going to cost $250. As soon as I got off the phone with them, Joe called. He calmed me down and had me send him a text photo of the bug I saw. He immediately told me it was not a bed bug. WOW! Was I relieved. And also thrilled that he was willing to do that even though he didnt know me at all. If I ever need extermination of any kind, I will call him. And I highly recommend him. I reached out to Joseph this evening to inquire about a quote for inspection of my apt for any holes as I've been getting mice. He told me the price but then proceeded to inquire more about my situation to determine the severity of the issue. Based on my response he advised that it was best to work through my landlord as this may not be a contained issue to only my apt so didn't feel comfortable taking my money. I've taken on the responsibility for the care of my elderly cousin who's had a severe bedbug problem in his single-family house in Brooklyn for seven or eight years. At first I consulted the national chains like Terminix but (at least at that time) they wanted to be paid many thousands of dollars for work they would guarantee for only a few months. That was not only unaffordable but made no sense because, given that my cousin is prone to bringing clutter into the house, the problem was sure to recur. Things kept getting worse but eventually I found an independent exterminator in Brooklyn who agreed to come every few months for a reasonable fee. The problem was that they never could get rid of all the bugs and each time after a few months we had a serious infestation again. They would blame this on the clutter in the house, which is certainly considerable, but I was at a loss as to what to do. Luckily, I found Joseph and James through Yelp and arranged for James to come by in August. He did a thorough inspection and followed up with an equally thorough treatment. He got rid of not only the bedbugs but also a roach infestation in the kitchen. He came back a couple of weeks later to check up on things without charge and then again this month to do a follow-up treatment and so far -- amazingly -- there has been no recurrence. Given the severity of the problem over so many years I've arranged for James to do quarterly follow-ups, which he prices quite reasonably. (The first treatment was more expensive but not excessively so.) James is very personable and has gained the trust of my cousin, who is wary of strangers, especially if he thinks they may insist he toss out his clutter. So glory be, the problem may actually be licked, which is an enormous relief to my cousin and me. I couldn't recommend James any more highly. read more

I had a bad bed bug problem and my friend referred me to these guys. I was so overwhelmed because of the plethora of exterminators all over google. I called this company and the owner picked up he was honest with me and told me what needed to be done on my part to prepare for the service. He gave me a solid time that the exterminator would come to my door. The next day my bell rang 5 minutes after the schedule time and a nice guy came in and explained to me what needed to be done on his part. He was real down to earth guy very professional but not distant. He seemed knowledgable and comfortable , Sometimes when you have these exterminators in your home they're a little impersonal and just spray puddles and leave. The service alone was worth the money but the results were great. Either my problem wasent that bad or these guys are real good cause its been 2 months and no bites! Never in my life did I think I would be writing a 5 star review for an exterminating company but here I am. If I could give this company 10 stars I would for their customer service. A few months ago, when sitting on my couch on a Sunday evening, I noticed that I had a few huge welts on my back. I thought nothing of it and went to bed. When I woke up the next morning I found a bed bug crawling on my pillow. I freaked out of course. I caught and killed the little critter. That night I got home late and didn't have time to change my sheets and was bitten again. I woke up in the middle of the night because I felt like I was being bitten, freaked out and decided to vacuum everything!! After that, no bites but just as a precaution, the next day, I called another bed bug company that has gotten 5 stars on yelp. That night they brought in a dog and made me leave my apartment while they did the inspection. They claimed that the dog could not be distracted. The dog only apparently isolated an infestation in the areas where I had told them that I had been bitten. Apparently everywhere else was clear. The inspector also showed me a bed bug that he claimed he had found in my apartment but it had no blood in it. There five page proposal on how to treat the problem basically required that I pack up my ENTIRE apt and pay over $2500 to have the place treated. They did not propose any remedial solution to treat the limited areas that they claimed were infested. I got very upset at the thought of having to turn my entire home and life upside down. I thought to myself "there has to be a better way". Later that day I found Northeastern. Joe (the older owner) was first and foremost a therapist. He calmed me down and explained all of my options including less invasive ways to treat my minor infestation. Also confirmed that I would only be charged for what I needed, nothing more. Two days later James (pictured above) came out. Aside from being very handsome, he is the calmest and nicest guy. He inspected the entire place for an hour and found no evidence of any bugs. NO EVIDENCE! I now suspect that the other company planted the second bed bug but can't say for sure (since I wasn't allowed in my apt while they inspected). As a precaution, if you do decide to hire one of those dogs do not leave your apartment while they do the inspection. James told me to monitor the situation and let him know if I got any new bites. He also recommended a few products that I could use for general bed bug protection. Customer service wise, James showed exactly on time and did a thorough inspection. They were cost conscious, did not try to rip me off, AND here's the awesome kicker: 6 weeks later James called again to follow up and confirm that I was still bed bug free. These guys are BEYOND honest and extremely professional. I cannot recommend them enough!! read more

Yesterday morning I was alarmed when I looked out my window and saw swarms of insects flying around a tree in my front yard. When I got closer I saw that there were thousands of small bees. Within fifteen minutes they had all collected on one of the branches.
