We reached out to Alleycat Exterminating when we began to have some more visitors in our apartment…read moreof the mouse and roach variety after our cat died. Don talked my husband through some steps we could take to try and plug any holes and fix the issue on our own if we wanted to but after finding a few more bugs we decided to make an appointment to have professionals help. Lauren stopped by, did a thorough check of our whole apartment, and ended up calling in someone else to bring additional materials to help ensure our problems were solved. Both she and her husband (it's a family business!) did a great job explaining what they were doing, what they were using, and answer any questions we had. The traps they leave behind and poison they use are childproof and pet safe, and also placed in ways to limit chances of small kids or pets to even get to them. Their fee was incredibly reasonable, they're communicative, and I finally feel like I can sleep a little easier. They'll be coming back to check-in in a few weeks to make sure there are no new signs of anything and discuss any next steps as needed but we are feeling optimistic and taken care of by friendly, reasonable professionals. Very much recommend them!

We moved into a building with a massive roach problem, and no one in our building was singing up…read morefor monthly treatment, and we were the first due to a sighting we'd had about 6 months ago. When NYC Pest Control came by, they sent their best team!! Xavier is probably one of the nicest guys you will ever meet. He fully educated us on which bugs were most likely to see and where and how to prevent them in between treatment, but most importantly, we noticed during the months we had our apartment treated we had no issues at all whatsoever--even if we left food out or if our bathrooms had moisture, we saw NOTHING. Any month we missed the treatment like if we weren't home when they cane by, we knew it was possible run into a single roach before the next treatment due to the issue on our block. We've only encountered 3 single roaches in a 6 month period and that's once when we moved in and it was not being treated and once after missing nearly 2 months of extermination. Although our super hasn't opted to treat the issue on a building level and leaves it up to apartments, Xavier mentioned having everyone in the building opt to have their unit treated would help our issue. Right now we're working to get our whole building involved because just by treating our unit alone we've seen a massive difference!! I know after Xavier visits, it's guaranteed we won't encounter a single bug. He knows what he's doing!! Bottom line is I have so much confidence in this pest control service based on firsthand experience. These regular treatments have made it possible to live on a highly infested block without having a major issue in our apartment. Xavier is so personable, knowledgeable and diligent. He always gives an update, sets traps around the apartment as a precaution and spends considerable time spraying at risk areas. Super reliable! I'd hire them independently if our building didn't take care of it. Thanks guys!!

We had to warn our next door neighbour and they ended up suggesting OHPC. I was reluctant at first, but after 2 weeks of laying out the regular traps, I was OVER IT. I called and spoke to Ray. I was up front about my stress about the price and he was open about what he could do for me. Honestly a huge relief, because when you're stuck with pest you literally have no choice. I appreciated that he worked within my budget and gave me all the options. Ray was able to fit us in the next morning (THANK YOU!!) We were able to get an inspection and found out that it wasn't a whole family of them. Just 4 or 5! Ray got us patched up and applied rat poison under the appliances, and near the the holes he caulked up. He even came back a week later to pick up the corpse because my mum and I were too scared! So grateful, I know I'm a New Yorker but I just can't!! Grateful for my neighbour and OHPC. It's been a month and we are scot-free. It was a painless experience for everyone but the mice.

Before deciding on this company, I called two other local companies, both of which were expensive and were insisting upon a canine inspection. After reading other 5-star reviews for Northeastern Exterminating, I decided to give them a call, and I'm glad I did. I explained my issue to Joe, who worked to calm my nerves about this situation and thoroughly explained everything that would occur with his company's home inspection, to be performed by his son, James. I wanted an appointment ASAP, and although Joe could only offer me an appointment for several days later, he assured me that he would keep my number at the ready just in case they had a cancellation. The night before my inspection, I received a text message from James confirming the time he would arrive, the price that was agreed upon, and simple instructions for how to prep for the inspection. The next morning, I received another text about an hour before the scheduled time to pinpoint the exact time he would be arriving - which is insanely helpful and courteous. Upon arrival, right on time, James asked me about my situation and immediately got to work performing a thorough and comprehensive inspection of the three bedrooms in my house, from floor to ceiling. The bed, box springs, bed frames, baseboards, etc. everything was carefully inspected while he explained what he was doing, what he was looking for, and even what I could do in the future to put my mind at ease. He made sure to look at everything I asked him to, and could not have been more easygoing and professional. I cannot recommend this company highly enough. Prompt, affordable, knowledgeable, friendly, and accommodating. On top of that, they are a family-run business, which is always a good thing. Give them a call and you will not be disappointed.

WOW, what a great company!…read more Due to construction in my building, we had a rambunctious population of mice who boldly chewed through the steel wool used to keep them out. The professionals from District Rodent Authority came in and did a full inspection of our apartment -- behind every appliance, inside closets, places we would not even think to look. They sealed off all entry points and put down bait stations, and advised us how to deal with things like pet food storage (sturdy plastic container, no bags!) and before long, I stopped having to emit blood-curdling screams at seeing a mouse race across our kitchen floor in the middle of the night. after 6 months, we saw a mouse, called DRA back, and they promptly sent Saeed, who like all his colleagues was super prompt, professional, and sealed up a hole a mouse had re-opened behind our dishwasher. NYC mice are aggressive but fortunately, District Rodent Authority is up to the challenge. Nice to know they honor their 1-year guarantee!

This was remarkable since it means I won't need to call back for his help dealing with the ant nests again!! Thanks so much AL!! I'll be sure to reach out again whenever I have pest problems!!

On top of that, he was able to start right then. He took care of the nest (three colonies!) and as promised, returned the next day to scrape the remains of their construction off of the wall. (It was above and to the right of my second floor window) He also treated it to make sure there were no traces of the persons that will bring other wasps to start again. All at a fair price. I cannot recommend AL's 1 Extermination highly enough.

I explained that the technician must arrive prepared to assess and treat in ONE appointment. I specified that he must move appliances, stuff gaps with steel wool, get under radiator covers and plug holes with foam-- no more but no less than that. Pest pro was the third place I called and the only place that was willing to meet my requirements of coming prepared to plug up and treat. The other two places said they needed to do an assessment which in my experience can mean just forcing you to pay and stay home all day twice instead of once. The person who showed up was new to the job but came prepared as requested and did a great job. They plugged behind my stove, placed traps behind my fridge, plugged under several radiators, and left glue traps out. In the end a wooden trap that I placed caught the mouse and I haven't seen another since. I'm pretty certain that the kitchen mice were coming in behind the stove which pest pro mouse-proofed well. It was $325 in the end but it only took one appointment and the problem is totally solved so I would use them again, though I don't think I'll have to because they really sealed up the place and recommended some follow ups which I can do myself for larger holes that they couldn't handle wit steel wool and foam.
