We saw a mouse on Friday and immediately told our landlord who hired broadway pest to come to the building. They called tues and came we'd. Gabriel was extremely professional and kind. He showed me where the holes were, filled them with steel wool, asked if I was ok with glue traps, and laid them out. I thought his approach to customer service was fantastic. Pretty disappointed with this business. They were more expensive than others but told me this service included 2 visits and a third follow up visit if needed. I was convinced Bc they guy on the phone sounded very knowledgeable. First visit was very thorough. From there it went down hill. It appears once they had my $310, they were done providing me professionalism and service. Second visit was unannounced, they didn't schedule with me prior to showing up - I wasn't home and had a neighbor let them in, so I don't know what they did. They told me I no longer had an issue but the next night we still had roaches. After I called to tell them this, they scheduled a third visit with me but they never showed up. I called and scheduled multiple times and even reconfirmed the appointment but they just never showed up again. When I called to complain about this, they said they would call me back to rectify, I never heard from them again. Once they got my money they were obviously on to the next. read more

Paid this company every month for 9 months and they didn't not get rid of the infestation. Still getting bit badly every night after 9 MONTHS!!! Whenever I want to speak to the manager I was told he's not at his desk and would call me back. This happened 3x in a span of 3 weeks. Last time I called I was told he needs to go over all the reports (maybe 10 max) so he can come up with why it's not working. I waited and followed up and waited.. no call back again.. meanwhile I keep getting bitten every day. Spent over $2500 on extermination services which didn't change a thing and is ignored by a clueless company. Very frustrated, anxious and fed up. This company needs to provide a warranty or change their extermination method if they are not getting rid of the infestation after almost a year. I also had to do tons of research FOR THEM as to possible reasons why their extermination is not working.. shouldn't it be the other way around?? I am begging my management to use another company but have been stuck with them pending board's decision. Separately, they provide general extermination for my entire building and the exterminator has not been here in months, at least in my unit. The first month or two when he showed up he had extremely bad hygiene and also did not do the job well (pumped some stuff into 2-3 corners of the room and called it a day). This was the third time we had someone come to exterminate our apartment. The first time around we thought we had cockroaches and the person came and sprayed gel in places that seemed to be affected. A few months later the problem came back and Miguel came to help. It turns out we didn't have a cockroach issue and they were water bugs instead after we shared we've only had the issue really in the bathroom and showing him a few pictures. He kindly sealed all the holes he identified and took his time. There was a hole near our exhaust fan and he suggested we tell our landlord to seal it as he didn't want to break the light attached to it. He even went as far as checking behind our stove and cleaning behind and under it without us asking. Miguel went above and beyond and took his time. He was very knowledgeable and helpful! I am writing this review for Devin, the exterminator that recommends products at Broadway Exterminating. Devin is knowledgeable, kind, helpful, tolerant and far better than the chunky, hostile and apathetic exterminator perched in the front earlier this year. Devin saved me from purchasing the wrong poison because he understood the active ingredient and did not see how it would remediate my mice woes. I'm a musophobic and I have had the most difficult time locating and exterminating a genius mouse who evades every trap I set for it. There's nothing like the panic of a critter in your house can cause, especially if you think it might be a bed bug. I had just such a panic today and a friend recommended (insisted) I go over to Broadway Exterminating to have them look at the specimens I encountered. Ramon and David were so lovely and immediately put me at ease. No bed bugs!!!! The critters were nothing special, spider beetle for one which I always thought was a tick brought in by my dog. David, he's a bit of a character (in a good way), offered to show my a live bed bug. I initially balked and then realized this would be helpful for any potential future panics. I live on the UWS in a residential building and my apartment needs regular servicing for roaches and mice (mostly in the winter). I'm meticulous about keeping everything clean -- no garbage or food left out. I had an exterminator who used to do it every 3 months and we were able to get the issue under control but he stopped doing residential. Broadway Pest was in the neighborhood so I called them. Polite and helpful on the phone. They got me on the schedule with Miguel, who arrived when they said he would, came on time and did a good job. HOWEVER, the next time they were scheduled to come they gave me a 4 hour window. 4 HOURS!!!! From 1 pm - 5pm. At 5PM he had still not arrived and I had to leave. I called the office and soon after, received a call from Miguel who said he was looking for parking. (I see from previous reviews that they seem to cite that as a reason for lateness.) In any case, by that time, I knew I would be late for a scheduled MD appointment. I had to leave. Sorry, but who has 4 plus hours to devote to waiting around for them to arrive. Meanwhile, when I posted this on their Facebook page the manager seemed to imply that I wasn't being truthful since he said they have great reviews re: arrival times. I indicated, yes, for the first visit, but for maintenance visits??? NO! Too bad since I did think they did a good job. read more

I am so grateful to David Lutzker and Jeter for helping us to resolve our bedbug issues. We've had two unrelated events. Both times David was available to discuss options and help us determine effective strategies. He is extremely compassionate, knowledgeable, generous, patient and honest. Jeter is a skillful detector of bugs. Between the two of them, we were able to target problem areas which we treated aggressively and avoided a full blown infestation. The most recent event, they helped us locate and kill a bug in such a short time span my husband and I were amazed. In this case, that's all we needed and we are back to sleeping peacefully! David and Jeter inspected the whole apartment; David turned mattresses over, and even upended the bed. David is a very thorough inspector and gave us so many helpful tips as well. The bites I got were infrequent -- but terribly uncomfortable and I especially appreciated David's kindness and understanding. He gives you peace of mind as well as impeccable service. I live in an old brownstone with old brick walls. No matter how clean the house is, in the winter we get mice, and in the spring we get ants, and when the weather turns warm we get water bugs. It's a never-ending cycle, so I frequently have need for an exterminator, but for different reasons. I have used Broadway for the last 8 years, but I am looking for a new exterminator....because the guys they send over sometimes give me the creeps, like a character out of Men in Black or Beetlejuice. The worst part is, they put down stuff that is scented like bugs and mice. I'm sure the purpose is to lure the pests to the traps, but it smells disgusting. Other times, they send guys who seem to have no idea what they are doing. (Once, a guy stuffed steel wool around an electrical socket!!) Any suggestions?? read more

2 months ago I had a bed bug bite. No one found a bug, but the dog signalled that I had them. Today, I still have them, as evidenced by the poop on the sheets. Broadway came three times. The third time, the guys came only holding their Subway sodas and no spray packs - I'm not sure they even did anything. I had to follow up with Broadway everystep of the way: for scheduling appointments and to get the report that they offered for my building management. I must have called 4 times for the report. On a couple occasions they couldn't find my records. Broadway is very nice on the phone and the exterminators were also very nice, so I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. But now, with the problem unresolved and again, a promise to call me back that never materialized (and when I called again at 4pm, it was "Sorry, everyone has gone. It was a busy day.") I can only conclude that they took my $1000 and left me where I started. I would suggest anyone with bed bugs buy the Diatomaceous earth that you leave around your bed for the bugs to walk through. I've come to the conclusion that I used a less than thorough exterminator, but extermination is probably often inadequate. Also, it gives you something to fight back with, rather than simply waiting you see if they are gone. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have gone in here many times for various kinds of advice about moths, mold, ticks, and bedbugs. Most recently, I have had my apartment inspected by two other companies (the landlord's choice) who have found no bedbugs though I keep getting bitten. These other companies keep saying ridiculous things (like the problem might be dust mites, which don't even bite) so I have decided to use Broadway Exterminating and pay for the inspection (dog) myself because I have found them to be ethical, responsive, and intelligent. I will let you know how the service is once I've had it! But judging by my visits to the store, I expect to be very satisfied. read more

I would be very careful in dealing with this company. My girlfriend had a rash that we suspected might be caused by bedbugs. Apart from her rash, there was no other evidence of them (I had no rash or bites myself nor were there other telltale signs), but to err on the side of caution we had Broadway come over with one of their bedbug-detecting dogs. When the Broadway guy was preparing to have the dog inspect our bedroom, he asked me to leave the room. My first thought was, "Why do I need to leave the room? Do I smell like a bedbug?" 5 minutes later, he emerged from the bedroom saying that the dog had "alerted" and that meant we had bedbugs. I was skeptical and--because the process of fumigating for bedbugs is so onerous--we decided to take an incremental step before going with the nuclear option. We purchased (from Broadway) some white plastic reservoirs that are filled with a fine talc and placed under the legs of the bed. If you have bedbugs, they get trapped in the talc when they try to climb up into the bed. Weeks passed and we caught no bedbugs in the reservoirs. There continued to be no other evidence of the presence of bedbugs. It has now been over a year and it's clear that there never were any bedbugs. It is hard not to conclude that they had claimed to find bedbugs in order to get a payday. read more

They have a burly|obese guy addressing "walk in" customers who is apathetic and indifferent. I did not feel welcomed or likely to use the service for extermination services because of the poor representation he provided. They are also a UPS drop off and pick up site and I found the woman who accepted my package kind and thoughtful. I have hired Broadway 3 times to come and take care of our home. The first time was a pre-treatment as we were doing construction. The second time we had a bad infestation which was never fixed by them. The third time the 1st exterminator they sent did basically nothing (I saw some of the bait that he placed under 1 cabinet) and he placed some sticky traps. He did so little (said he couldn't move my stove even though the previous guys that came have moved it with no problem) that I had to have them come back the next day to redo what he didn't. A true waste of my time. The first guy they sent on Friday was scheduled to arrive between 12-3. At 4:00 my nanny messaged me that no one came yet so of course i called and of course he was looking for parking. He finally arrived at 4:30. No phone call, nothing. The second guy was very nice but was in and out within 15 mins. $244 for that? This is a joke. Save yourself a ton of money and buy the products and treat it yourself. read more

I have been plagued with mice for many years in this old walk-up building. My friend, who had a bedbug issue, recommended Broadway Exterminating to me. I found them to be very professional and helpful. Most of all, Miguel - the pest control expert they sent - really did a thorough job in my place. He was very knowledgeable about the habits of mice and found the point of access behind the stove area. After 10 days he returned (this is part of the service) and there were no droppings or evidence of mice. I can strongly recommend Miguel as a very good representative of this company - he takes his job seriously and is a professional (as I am in my own work - takes one to know one!) Mice are in this building and I worry they will come back, find new places to gnaw into my home. I'm hoping not to need his services again, but if I have mice again I would certainly ask for him to come and get rid of them. read more
