STOP THE ABUSE!!! When last Sunday, June 27th, I called the owner of All out Bed Bug Exterminators/Above and Beyond Bed Bug Removal, Luis Balseca, to ask for a refund because I still had bed bugs after 7 weeks and two treatments, and because of his abusive attitude towards me (for example, when he said "do you think I would lose a new customer to help you?" in response to my complain about his delay in doing the second treatment; or when he said that women provoque men, after me complaining that the guy who did the failed previous treatment asked me and my roommate out), and I told him that I would a leave a bad review for him if he did not give me the refund, he responded: "You do no not want to see my bad side. You do not know the damage I am capable of doing to you if you dare to write a bad review for me, you do not want to know. I come from a very bad background and I have very bad contacts. I will make the situation so bad for you that you will need to leave the country". "What if I call the police?", I asked. "The police cannot do anything to me". "Why?", I inquired. "Because I have a relative who is a judge", he said, as if I did not know I live in a democratic country where justice works, instead of one of those countries where justice is sold all the time. I understood why I had been puzzled by the lack of bad reviews about Luis' company despite his abusive behavior more than ever before, though a pest control company I had contacted before calling Luis had already given me the key. They had told me that his clients complain about being mistreated by him and, when told to write a review or file a complain, they refused to do it out of fear of retaliation. But the company thought they still should leave the review, and I agree, specially after confronting the beast, which, I have to say, I did not do without fear and a nightmare the night before I called Luis. Writing the review was, by the way, the recommendation that the police made to me, besides reporting the man to the Better Bussiness Bureau, and some other pieces of advice. And here is the good bad review that Luis has been asking for so loudly for a very long time. Clientes de Luis les contaban del maltrato recibido por él y, al aconsejárseles que escribieran reseñas, se negaban a hacerlo por miedo a una revancha. READ THIS REVIEW BEFORE HIRING AN EXTERMINATOR! I rarely write reviews for positive services. I normally relegate my limited time to reviews of poor services so people know what contractors or providers to avoid. Unfortunately my elderly mother some how got a bed bug problem. It was something that obviously had to be addressed quickly and completely. As any son would be, I was very concerned regarding my mother being bit and seeing bed bugs on her bed. I researched several different exterminators; from the major nationwide big companies to the latest trend of dog sniffing companies to address this problem. I had at least four companies come to my home. I ran across All Out Bed Bug Exterminator and actually passed over them to contact one of the larger companies thinking like a lot of people do; bigger nationwide companies will do a better and more complete job at eradication and that they were more reliable. Then I read the reviews on these two big companies, the reviews on the dog sniffing companies, and the reviews on AOBBE. I called Luis at AOBBE, several times, with many questions. Unlike the big companies, he was patient, RESPONSIVE, and seemed to appreciate my dilemma. After having the four inspections, I decided to go with AOBBE. Because I had previously used one of the big companies to treat for termites 20 years ago, they were giving me a lesser price, with more months coverage than AOBBE. This still did not persuade me to hire them instead of AOBBE. Now, three months later, I am very glad I went with my "gut" and hired AOBBE. I can see why they have the reputation they do; the results show that. My mother's residence has been bed bug free since within two weeks of the treatment (probably more so as some were found dead before that and I saw no live ones). Its not only the positive results that made me write this review. It was also the immense professionalism of Luis and AOBBE, the responsiveness to my many calls, questions and concerns, and the patience and understanding shown. As anyone with bed bugs knows, its an embarrassing situation and it takes a toll on you mentally. Having someone that is sympathetic and understanding of your needs really helped. Compared to the big nationwide exterminating companies, AOBBE is relatively new. But they are what companies/businesses once were in this country, and should still be. I didn't have a Yelp account until today, because I made one specifically to be able to review All Out Bed Bug Exterminators, because they treated me so well and I wanted to rave about them. I've been in New York for a long time and have unfortunately had bedbugs before, so I know the process better than I'd like to and also know that different providers offer different levels and quality of service. So I can say from experience that Luis and his team are fantastic; they spent so much time walking me through everything, used innovative technologies, and have gotten their process so down-pat that this incident has disturbed my life as minimally as it could have - prep work was much less invasive than other companies require, made possible by their vigilant and innovative research-based method. Their rates are competitive and honest, and they are truly compassionate people who are looking to take care of you. I hadn't had the time to fully "prep" my bedroom before the technician Bradley arrived, and he helped me dust and carry items outside, which he did not have to do, with a smile and a sweet demeanor the whole time. And I have NEVER come across a company that will offer such an extensive warranty period (6 or 12 months depending on the option you choose), which speaks to how much they stand behind their service. Luis and team also assured me that they will be available for any questions and are happy to come back and inspect if I get nervous. I cannot recommend them enough, and while I hope I don't get bedbugs again and need to call them in the future :), I would 100% patronize this business again. Nothing will cause a New Yorker more distress than being plagued with bed bugs. I am so grateful to have found Luis and his team to assist me in my DESPERATE time of need. I initially tried to work with my management company to eradicate the bugs... big mistake. They hired Dial A Bug, who sprayed a water based product on my mattress (no where else!), advised I get a mattress cover and called it a treatment. I'm no bug professional.. but even I know that wouldn't be nearly enough to stop these pests. Luis fit me in less than 24 hours notice for a 6AM appointment. His appointments are in hour time slots, unlike most companies who make you wait around all day long. His team showed up right on time and even gave me a 30 minute heads up. All Out is the only bed bug exterminator I would ever trust. My sister and I have had recurrent infestations because of a bad landlord situation. Last summer when we first realized we had bed bugs, the landlord asked us to do a ridiculous amount of prep work and disrupt our lives for potentially months. We looked into heat treatment but it wasn't a viable option. In our research, we discovered All Out and the bio-pesiticide they use which is called Aprehend. It is way more effective than traditional extermination, pet-safe, and required no prep work on our part. It is pricey but worth it! When our bed bug problem returned as a result of a poorly managed building with a landlord who refuses to check or exterminate in other units, we knew that we would be using All Out again, without a doubt. We had a nightmare rental experience where the renter brought bed bugs into our apartment while we were on vacation. Luis and his wife were incredibly professional, empathetic and effective when it came to responding to our initial enquiry, all of our questions/ concerns throughout the process and ultimately implementing the treatment. They used a non-toxic formula that got rid of the bugs and eggs. Since it was non-toxic, it meant that we did not have to go through the painful process of washing/ heat treating every item of clothing, linen and other belongings. They fit us into their busy schedule which we really appreciated, applied the treatment to every piece of furniture, floors, walls and outlet within a couple of hours and we were back in our house immediately after that. Its been about 6 months and we have not had any further issues. First off, I would give 10 stars if I could. I called Luis in a panic yesterday because I thought my kiddo might have brought bedbugs over from her father's place, where they had just found an infestation. Even though All Out was apparently booked for the next couple of weeks, Luis managed to get me a same day appointment for a canine inspection. What I didn't realize until the appointment was that the inspector was from a totally separate company (Doctor Sniffs, who are fantastic) that only does inspections, and not treatment, so that there is no conflict of interest, and they are not going to fake the presence of bedbugs just to make you pay for a treatment you don't need. I have so much respect for Luis and his company knowing he sent an inspector to my place even when it wasn't necessarily going to mean business for him (which, thankfully in my case, turned out to be true, as no bedbugs were found). I read a lot of reviews before I called All Out, and hearing how so many places scam you in a moment of vulnerability, the honesty and true desire to help on Luis' part is even more impressive. I received absolutely exceptional service from All Out Bed Bug Exterminator. I suspected bed bugs in my apartment. My landlord had an exterminator come inspect my apartment, who found nothing and made me feel like I was imagining it. A whole month after that inspection, I continued getting bites and hives. After going to two dermatologists (thinking it was an allergy), and reaching out to my non-responsive landlord again - my boyfriend spotted a tiny bug in my apartment. I called Luis and sent him a photo. Within minutes he identified this as a baby bed bug,informed me of the entire process and had a technician at my apartment the very next day. The technician, also named Luis, was outstanding. He thoroughly sprayed my entire apartment, answered a million of my questions, even made jokes to lighten the mood a bit. Bed bugs are a NIGHTMARE, and surprisingly I'm in my 6th NYC apartment and this is the first time I've encountered the gross couch surfers. And to make it worse, I was quarantined with these unwanted visitors for 24 hrs/day, so you could say I wanted them gone ASAP. I called Luis on a Sunday afternoon, and he was very nice and explained everything to me. He first said he could be there Tuesday, and when I said I was probably going to stay in a hotel for 2 nights he said "Oh I wouldn't want you to have to do that, let me see if I can move things around to be there tomorrow." And sure enough, he was there at 6:30 the next morning Professional, thorough, and FAST service (I could be back in my apartment after 8:30!). My family returned home from a wedding Memorial Day Weekend and discovered we had a bed bug infestation. Louis was extremely patient in our time of need, and answered all of our questions and addressed every concern we had about the infestation. I contacted and spoke with Luis of All Out Bed Bug Exterminator; he very expeditiously assisted me with my deleterious dilemma. I had been severely bitten all over, practically every inch of my body, by these vampire insects!!! When I texted the pictures of the bite marks, that I had sustained, on my body, and pictures of the actual insects that had bitten me, Luis readily identified and confirmed that I had indeed been bitten by bedbugs. What caught my eye most were there excellent reviews they have and I wasn't disappointed. I called right away . Luis was very nice on the phone the first day i spoke to him and sent someone out right away. I paid for them to spray my entire house ($4200) when the infestation was really only on the third floor. They sprayed twice and I finally felt content in my new house. However, a live one turned up and I called them right away. Came out sprayed the areas again. Luis said his technician didn't find any live ones. Came home & I found a live one in a built in drawer. Called again Luis was very rude but sent the technician back out to spray the area. I felt the technician did not do a thorough job. Finally, I decided to go with a different company which charged me $900 for a year guarantee and the problem was resolved. Easy to work with and their treatment was effective. The company uses a spray that's a relatively new technology. I've dealt with bedbugs before and it's been a very costly experience as well as very labor intensive regarding the prepwork before the treatment. With All Out it was done in one treatment and there was minimal prep, just wash your bedlinens and clothes in the bedrooms that were hanging out. It's been almost 2 years since the treatment and we have been bedbug free. Would definitely recommend them to friends and family. Unfortunately I am seeing bites on my family so after some investigating we will call them for another treatment.
