I had take out on 12/20/21. Service was very friendly and prompt, server had good knowledge of the menu and made good recommendations regarding portion size and menu items. Pork tacos were exceptional, shrimp was also excellent, but veggie taco was a little lacklustre, hence 4*. Didn't really survive my 20 minute drive home but that can't really be expected. This is NOT authentic Mexican food. This is a restaurant that is very PNW and I feel the menu is kinda a PNW and Mexican fusion in a way which in my opinion doesn't really work. The food is just ok. I am all about supporting smaller businesses in down town camas my home town. Not to long ago Me and my Hispanic friend went for dinner here and the service was extremely rude. My friend of Latino descend and a darker skin complexion went in and was not asked by any staff member his order or anything, he was just ignored by surrounding staff. Until I went in, a white middle aged female. All of a sudden one of the staff members quickly seated me and asked for our orders. We both immediately saw the difference in how we were treated, so we left. Unfortunately I won't be returning which is a shame because this was a great family friendly place to dine :( read more

This was our first visit to Nuestra Mesa. We were immediately impressed by the warm, inviting, and stylish ambiance. Although the restaurant was quite busy (Friday night), we were promptly greeted and seated with 2 minutes. Our server, Jose Andres, was friendly and attentive and helped us to easily navigate the menu. We ordered Crispy Bruselas (roasted brussel sprouts with chorizo, a poached farm-fresh egg, and topped with tajin and chicharrones); a bowl of Pozole (traditional soup made with pork shoulder, hominy, chiles, cabbage, avocado, cilantro and lime); a cup of Pollo Poblano Chowder (chicken chowder with poblano chiles, sweet corn, potatoes, celery, and carrots); and a Taco de Pastor (marinated pork, grilled pineapple and avocado salsa folded in a housemade corn tortilla.) The food was prepared quickly, served hot, and was nicely presented and delicious. For desert, we had the Lemon Carlotta Blueberry Compote and a traditional Flan Mexicano... again both delicious. We also loved how the table water was served in ice-cold, re-purposed La Gritona Tequilla bottles... nice touch! Thanks, Jose Andres and all of Nuestra Mesa for starting off our date night so well. The first time I came here in 2015 stands out. It was the beginning of August and the street outside had been shut down for a live band. I sat at the bar with two of my best friends and enjoyed delicious cocktails and tacos. It was a perfect summer evening. This past weekend my husband and I ventured out on a Saturday drive. We stopped into Nuestra Mesa for lunch and it was everything I remembered and more. My husband had the Spicy Camarones Taco as well as the Pork Tinga. The Camarones was one of the best tacos he's ever had. I had the Taco Salad and it was absolutely divine. It's always a welcome surprise when restaurants use mixed greens rather than iceberg lettuce on their taco salads. And the salsa! It's fantastic. While there was a six year intermission in patronizing this restaurant, we will be sure to make our visits more frequent once we move north. This place is a gem. read more

Food was absolutely a joke, nothing authentic about it, nothing Mexican about it. You have to pay 7$ for chips and salsa, what a joke, everywhere else I have ever gone gives you free chips and salsa. The salsa was disgusting. Then we get our meal, I got carne asada enchiladas. The steak was bland as can be, no flavor whatsoever. The red sauce on top of the enchiladas tasted like straight tomato paste out of a jar. The "Mexican" rice tasted nothing like Mexican rice, it also tasted like tomato paste. The black beans were whatever. I am extremely disappointed with the food in every aspect, I would never ever eat there again. The only good thing they have going for them was the customer service, the guy waiting on our table seemed very nice and attentive. The service here was top notch! Ordered the Chocolate Chip Cookie for my mom for dessert. It came warm in it's own skillet with ice cream melting on the top. My mom ate the entire cookie! Nuestra Mesa is located downtown Camas surrounded by cute shops. The salsa and guacamole were delicious and the chips were served warm for an added touch. I really enjoy this place. The food is fantastic and I am a huge fan of their ginger margaritas with the house chili pequin syrup. While they have a family side and a bar side I tend to enjoy it more as a date spot or catching some of the great live music they have on Wednesday than a family affair. Ever see a movie that you wanted to like but just couldn't? I ordered the chicken enchiladas and that was a big mistake. The beans, sauce on the enchiladas and the rice had that "been under a heat lamp" look. The beans and rice were passable, but the enchiladas were a "warm mess." Dry and shredded chicken inside an apparently stale tortilla does not an enchilada make. It's not like the place was busy because we were one of three tables outside. I guess it could have been packed inside, but I seriously doubt it - still no excuse. We'll try one more time in case it was an off day. And I will try something else. read more

The menu is limited, you know..COVID-19 (queue scary music), but what they have is made fresh in house, quality ingredients and filled with authentic flavors. We love Mexican food and this place always delivers. I love the chorizo brussel sprouts, the Chile relleno, and the fried avocado taco. You can't go wrong with any of their margaritas. This place is an absolute joke. I mean, it has to be. I was there with my husband and we were seated next to the kitchen and the host left us with some menus. After 5 minutes nobody came by to greet, offer water or beverages... nothing. At about the 10 minute mark we were sick of the lack of respect from the servers constantly walking to and from the kitchen with no acknowledgement. We walked out and there wasn't a host at the door so we could say why we walked out. Since this has been documented by other Yelpers, this is absolutely the truth about the service. After hearing much hype about this restaurant, three friends and I made the trek out to Camas. We entered a clean restaurant to be greeted by an unmasked hostess. Once seated, we noticed three others (servers and cooks) also unmasked. When we inquired, our masked (& kind) server shared their establishment was a "mask optional" one. We contemplated leaving but opted to request that masks be worn. The server left to speak to her manager and returned with the odd response that when preparing or delivering our specific table number's food, the staff would mask. We gave our cell and never received a call. We came back after 20 minutes and saw multiple tables empty but needed to be bussed. We gave them time. At the 45 minute mark we asked if we could sit soon and she said she'd bus BUT the kitchen closes in 15 minutes and acted very put out like we were showing up last minute. My first impression was how big the mesa burrito was! I couldn't stop alternating from taking warm bites from the burrito, and dipping chips into my salsa. My favorite salsa was the crimson colored one.. something about the flavor just makes me want to order it again. Even though the food was delivered, the food was still warm and very hearty. Not my first rodeo with this place! Ordered a house margarita which was $8.50 today and low an be hold it was half full! I requested Little to no ice because when you don't it's full of ice and no margarita ( been there done this a few times) ! My husband and I come here quite a bit. It's fun because they are often changing their menu around and there's cool new things to try. Aside from their amazing tacos and delicious soups/chowders, they have lots of interesting sides to share. Their queso Fundido is delicious! Only thing I didn't like about their service is, I'm used to chips and salsa coming with our meals free (I know we were spoiled in CA). Mesa charges. And that's not the problem. When you first walk in, they seat you and before you even get a chance to look at the menu for the first time, they take your drink order and then ask, "Chips, salsa, and guac?" Who says no to that? Hahaha Only later when fully examining the menu do you find the $7 price tag. Not an issue of price, ok. It's just that they kind of imply they are offering it as a part of the meal. Again, we come quite a bit and that delivery is always the same. You sit down, they hand you a menu and ask if you'd like a drink. Then ask if you want to chips, etc to start with. Mmmmmm ginger margarita! Best margarita I've ever had. We came here on a friday during lunch hour and it was busy but we didn't have to wait. Great atmosphere, clean, fun energy and great customer service by the woman who seemed to be doing it all. Kudos to her. I hope they get her some help soon. I had the veggie mesa bowl. It was packed with flavor and lots of delicious vegetables! Big portion and their rice is good. My dining partner had a bowl of chicken corn soup and he said it was velvety and very tasty. I thought the broth was a bit thin but tasty nonetheless. He also had the chicken enchiladas with red sauce, rice and beans and the red sauce was flavorful and the chicken was seasoned nicely. We also had chips and salsa which were good. The guacamole was a little bland and watery. Avocado probably wasn't ripe enough. But no stars deducted for that. They have a hot sauce made in house and oh my it's HOT but it's very flavorful and I put it on everything. I even asked for a tiny bit to take home for my leftovers because it's so good! The entire meal was good and we will definitely be back. I can't wait to have another ginger margarita! Prices are average for the area. read more

Stood at the reception area, no joke 15 minutes, little teenagers wouldn't even make eye contact, this was their 3rd chance, I don't even want to mention the two previous experiences. When they finally approached me, I just asked for the owner and the managers name at that point. For a test why don't you order chips to go and do that once a week and you'll see how the price is never the same. 5, 8, 12, 15 one time I paid 23. It's roulette. The guacamole is fresh, the ceviche is good but could use a little more lime & seasoning, and I love being able to get 3 different tacos every time I go. Jean and I Had a wonderful lunch at Nuestra Mesa, in Camas WA on June 1st, 2021. Our daughter's boy friend recommended we try it Man O Man, Chris, you were spot on! Thank you. These are some of the reasons we enjoyed this establishment : 1) They offer a large beverage selection (we enjoy a draft beer with Mexican food and Nuestra Mesa offers an adequate selection of both draft or bottled beer), 2) The day we visited was a perfectly sunny day with Blue skies and 85°. Massive Oak trees Line both sides of Ninth Avenue and they Perfectly shade the entire block Including the street as well as the store fronts of various nearby businesses and the street. Before entering the building we noticed much cooler it was in the Shade away from direct sunlight. Once we looked up and Viewed the canopy from down at street level we both commented how similar it looked to a cathedral. You couldn't find more welcoming ambiance 3)The food was memorable with generous portions and plenty of greens and a tasty homemade dressing. Jean had a shrimp taco and a taco salad. Cannot recommend this place enough! Good food and drinks are flavorful with attention to detail and very reasonably priced! The mood and vibe is authentic to Mexico for a small town like Camas. It's been about three years since our last review and we've come here quite a few times off and on since then. I think the new food menu is pretty darn good really. We always eat in the bar, preferably at the bar but if not, at one of the tables. Usually we have great service and really enjoy the food. Last time we were there, probably a month ago, we sat up at the bar and ordered our usual drinks. The bartender, a guy - don't know his name, made the drinks and delivered my wife's drink behind our water glasses and mine next to one but not in front of me per se. She had to reach around and through two glasses then up and over to get her drink? WTH? What bartender does that? Set's a drink down behind a couple glasses to where the patron has to reach around and carefully grab it. That kinda pissed us off but the most-lovely co-owner just happened to walk by us and she asked how we were doing and told us about their new menu and hoped we'd try something off it, which we did. I forget what we got but we got two of the newer items and they were fabulous to say the least, we loved them. She came by again after we were half way done and asked how things were. By then we were on our second round and he actually put our drinks in front of us this time. Even though that riled us we didn't mention anything because maybe it was just a brain fart or something. But that was so strange to be honest. Having said that we keep going back over and over once or twice per month (or more) mainly for dinner and drinks and will continue going there and happy to do so. read more
