After discovering their nopalito wet burrito, my partner and I are regulars. It's a vegetarian friendly dish that tastes fresh and homemade and we always get one to share. They have the best chips and salsa appetizer out of any other Mexican place we've been to, and we've been to many during our time in LA. Their chips are fried fresh before serving and you can tell because they're still warm and feel super thin. Their salsa has a fresh taste. This is a family establishment with very authentic food at very fair prices. The tacos here are enormous and are prepared with house made corn tortillas, which are absolutely delicious. Well, I think we finally found our sit down place! 4 Caminos located next to the neat Mexican market is amazing!! It's family owned, so they take the time to make everything fresh and perfect. Their chips were piping hot and salsa so fresh and delicious. We shared a wonderful chili relleno and both had the cheese & onion enchiladas. I had red and green sauce on mine which was awesome. We've been to Mexico several times, and this place is right up there with some of our favorite places. It's our 2nd time here, and they remembered us and welcomed us warmly. They also offered some bottled salsas which were wonderful! The place was very clean and had a nice ambiance. We'll definitely be back! *Also... there IS a difference between their enchiladas mexicana and their other enchiladas. This is my #1 Mexican restaurant in Vancouver. It is ran by a small group of women who make incredible food. The carnitas (slow cooked pork) is the absolute best carnitas I've ever had. I always get the carnitas tacos or carnitas burrito. Trust me on this! The service and environment are also very good here. It has a nice feel but not overly fancy. We just moved to this area. Clearly the first task on hand was to find the "it spot" Mexican food, 4 Caminos fills the spot! Food was fresh, great flavoring (a little heavy on the oregano, but that's just me) my husband had menudo, he loved it! I had the Mexican enchiladas; incredible flavoring, the chicken was dry however all the other ingredients brought it back to life. This is also why I gave it a four star! We decided to give this place a try for dinner one night. From the outside it looks like a hole in the wall, but it's actually kind of cute inside. For a while they had the TV on loud and some music blaring over the speakers at the same time, but eventually they sorted it out. They had no customers but it took forever to get seated. A woman looked at us when we came in and then ignored us to clean and do other things. After a while a man came by who was very nice and he seated us and got us our water, chips, and salsa. We eventually figured out he was a bus-boy and the rude woman was our waitress. We got our usual combination plates with three cheese enchiladas and another with a cheese and onion enchilada, chile relleno, and whole bean chalupa. Due to a llittle confusion we got whole beans on the chalupa and on the plate, when we wanted a whole bean chalupa with refried beans on the plate, but overall it was a minor thing and we didn't ask for anything to be remade. Unfortunately, the food just wasn't very good and took a very long time to be made even though we were the only ones in there. I liked the rice but all the beans were bland, the enchiladas were dry and the sauce had a strange taste, and the chalupa shell was wet and soggy straight from the kitchen. We ordered sodas and were brought a glass bottle of soda from a cooler to share with glasses of ice, which was weird. Everything looked so much better than it turned out to be, so we left pretty disappointed with the whole experience. read more

One of the better legitimate Mexican venues on 4th Plain. I got the menudo for $8.95 and it was pretty good. There aren't a lot of places which serve menudo 7 days a week and this is one of them. I ordered a burrito without onions and waited for about 15 minutes for it to come out, which wasn't a problem. I'm allergic to onions, so I asked the young lady if the burritos came with onions and she said they did not but of course when the burrito came it had onions in it. The burrito's appearance was huge but I told her to take it back because of the onions. She said it wasn't a problem and came back minutes later with what she claimed to be a different burrito, without onions. The burritos size had been greatly deducted and there was salsa splattered all over the plate. It felt as if she went and took all the onions out of the burrito and gave it right back to me. Would never recommend this place, as a waitress she should know her menu and the risks of what could happen after doing something like this. read more

(Perfect for me because Im gluten sensitive and often these are made with flour tortillas ) The Fajitas were decent too, nothing mind blowing but came in a large portion, perfect for 2 to split !
