Natalia's Cafe is held in high regard by many for its fabulous breakfast options, and for good reason. From start to finish, everything about our experience matched our expectations, save for one thing: while it was delicious, the Hubbard Special that I ordered, listed on the menu under "omelets", is really more of a scramble, with the four egg whites being almost impossible to detect. In fact, when it arrived at my table, I actually inquired if they forgot the eggs entirely (see attached image). Perhaps this is a misunderstanding on my part, but it should probably be described a little more clearly, because even my wife was surprised by its appearance. Would we come here again? Absolutely! Would I order the Hubbard Special again? Maybe, but only if it were actually wrapped in egg, like an omelet. I happened into Natalia's during "once in a blue moon" day with several friends. During the summertime I see lines out the door on a weekend morning. But we went on the coldest day of the year and were fortunate enough to score a table right away. I ordered the "once in a blue moon" pancakes (they normally don't have pancakes). Topped with delicious blueberries and an egg and bacon on the side. It was so good I ordered another order to take home to my family. My friends ordered the morning breakfast, a waffle, and Benedict. Everyone was really happy with their order going so far as to say the waffle was the best she's had. My friends come from Portland but I live locally. They said they would absolutely drive the over for another visit to Natalia's. The chef is to be commended. Don't miss out. But expect a reasonable wait if you come on a weekend. read more

We stayed at the Camas Boutique Hotel for our anniversary and breakfast at Natalia's was included with our room. We walked the half block from the hotel at 8 a.m. on a Sunday morning and went inside of the diner style restaurant. Only one side of the restaurant was open that early and there were already two booths of customers there. We had a choice of four menu items or else we could use our meal credit from the hotel toward something else on their menu. I chose the bacon and cheese omelet from our meal credit and my husband ordered off of the regular menu. He got two eggs, patty sausage, hash browns, and toast. The sausage patty was almost as large as the plate it was served on. The food was hot and delicious! With two coffees and our meals, we only had a tab for just over $8 and a very hearty breakfast. Service was great and our order came out in about five minutes. When we left the restaurant, the other side of the restaurant was getting ready to open. This side was more in the style of the 1950's diner with many more tables. Where we ate only had stools along the counter and a few booths. This place is what happens when gentrification and caffeine addiction have a baby. I paid eight bucks for a latte and got a cup of hot regret that tasted like burnt dirt and bad decisions. The barista had all the warmth of a parking ticket, and the entire room smelled like overpriced coffee and unearned superiority. Every person inside looked like they were competing for the title of "Most Portland Human Alive" while aggressively typing on MacBooks and pretending their coffee had personality traits. Overpriced. Chicken and Waffles Just alright overall. The chicken had a nice golden panko crust, crisp and visually great, but the meat was dry and no seasonings. The waffles leaned dense and overly sweet, with syrup poured on top making them soggy by the time they arrived. It does come with a generous amount of bacon bits! "The Stuff" Hash browns loaded with bell peppers, ham, cheese, and topped with country-style gravy. Big, hearty portion and super satisfying. The bell peppers could've been cooked a bit more, but the hash browns were crispy and flavorful with a great cheese pull. Natalia's has been on our "bad" list for quite a while (mostly because of.the awful fly problem they have in the summer). We decided to give them another try and they are now permanently on the list! Around 9:30 on a Monday we stopped by for breakfast and we're immediately seated. Then we were ignored. No water, no coffee, nothing. The hostess ignored me as I tried to get service. Best meal we've had in a while. It's across between what you make it home and Restaurant food. It's a little cramped inside, but it doesn't feel like it when you're sitting there. Hard to explain there is a vintage vibe to the decor. You will find typical breakfast and lunch options it takes a few minutes to get your order, but that's because they make it right then worth the wait. Casual diner with no frills. Cute retro decor and a sit up bar. They were very accommodating to us with a baby in our group. (They also have a full changing table and supplies in the bathroom!) Pretty mad at myself for not trying this place earlier. Wife and I wanted breakfast food so she looked up places around us. Greeted instantly with a smile and hello. Sat quickly and order taken shortly after. Felt like that cozy diner every town needs and you just feel welcomed. Wife ordered the supreme omelet and I ordered the chicken fried steak. Food came so fast we were surprised. Probably less than 10 mins. Food was also delicious and portions were legit. I am a big guy and the plate was more than enough for me. I was in the mood for pancakes however they do not offer them on the menu which I thought was odd for a breakfast spot. They did have waffles and French toast but no pancakes. I had the Bailey's Sandwich which was served with Hash Browns. The sandwich was served on toasted wheat bread and was loaded with scrambled eggs, spinach, mushrooms, bell pepper and cheese I would recommend and would order again. The price was $16 on the menu however I realized later that I was actually charged $16.50. They should update their printed menus. The service was fine. It was not busy so I was asked to choose any open table. I sat across from the open kitchen. The cook that prepared my sandwich also delivered it to my table. This is such a pleasant local cafe! It looks tiny from the outside but they have a whole nother room that seats a ton of tables and people. The staff is so nice and the decor is cute. They give personalized mugs for coffee. All our food was yummy, I got the biscuits and gravy, my partner got the chicken fried steak, and his parents got the American breakfast and the corned beef. Weird place. Came at 12.30. They close at 2, but said kitchen closes at 1. The outside is in shade and has several tables outside with umbrellas. Since we have a dog we wanted to sit outside where it was a very nice temperature. Then we are told they can't serve us because it's too hot for servers to go outside.
