This is a favorite stop, especially for lunches. Honestly, it's never a bad day to go here. The staff are incredibly friendly. It has a warm home atmosphere with lots of great colors and comfortable booths. The food is always in large amounts lots of leftovers and they have a fun way of serving champagne on Sundays if you ask, a great atmosphere it's always a good day to stop and eat here. This place is solid! We are newer to the area and so glad to have discovered Los Dos Compadres. Food is always fresh and served hot. We often do the fajitas (we split it) and they're lovely. Chips and salsa is one of my favorite in the area... price is on-point and very fair for the large portions. The staff is friendly and responsive. They are usually quick to take your order and the food comes fast. LDCC is a great local option that we highly recommend. If you haven't tried it, do so! They're worth the pop-in. read more

I came for lunch and sat at the bar--because the dining room was inexplicably packed. After this visit, I'm still scratching my head as to why. Let's start with the drinks: $9 for a Happy Hour margarita? Really? It was weak, flavorless, and honestly one of the worst I've ever had. If there was tequila in there, it must have taken a wrong turn. The complimentary chips and salsa were decent, and the $5 side of guacamole wasn't bad, but the portion was laughably small for the price. More like a garnish than a side. I went with the Taco and (2) Enchilada Combo ($15). Price was fair, but the execution? Not so much. The taco came in a prefab shell thinner than a paper napkin--completely incapable of holding its shredded beef filling. I had to inhale it before it disintegrated. The cheese and onion enchiladas were average at best, drowning in a watery sauce that clearly missed its thickening agent. What baffles me most are the glowing 5-star reviews. I have been eating here for many years and since they sold out to a corp. the quality has gone downhill. I ate there this weekend and ordered the three enchiladas. The corn tortillas were stale, the ground beef tasted old and that was the only flavor the beef offered; no garlic, no onions, no salt, no pepper, just old stale dried out beef. The sauce was an odd flavor and the consistency was slimy. The beans were watered down. The only thing good on that plate was the rice. We nearly passed up Dos Compadres because they have outdoor remodeling in progress, and we thought they were closed. They are open! And inside the restaurant is nicely decorated with good dining ambiance -- clean and not too noisy. We were quickly seated and given tortilla chips and 2 salsas, a mild and a medium. We ordered margaritas that were large, delicious, and generous with ingredients! I had 2 chicken enchiladas that came with rice and beans. My partner had a fajita quesadilla with guac and sour cream. We also got a small side of guacamole. All the food was fresh and delicious. Various wait staff stopped by the table to see if we needed anything. And we very much enjoyed the whole experience, as we were celebrating Cinco de Mayo over the weekend. We highly recommend La Cantina Dos Compadres and we will be back. read more

What can I say? I love this place! I've been coming here for years. I have never been disappointed. The ambience is pure Mexico bright and cheerful. The service is always top-notch. Water chips and salsa come to your table pretty much immediately. They give you a spicy salsa and a mild. Today I had the Carne Asada plate. This is my go to often. I just love the tender grilled meat and all the yummy fixings. Their rice and beans are just right. You get guacamole and a couple of charred scallions as well as a jalapeño. There's a piece of fresh tomato and shaved iceberg. My favorite to eat on the delicious tacos that you make with the hot tortillas . Not kidding heavenly. Today I was with my son. This is a nice little Mexican restaurant, just off SR14 so very handy if you are just passing through. Predictable Mexican fare. Nothing especially noteworthy but no complaints at all. They have a family area and a bar/seating area if you want to get away from the kiddos. Very reasonable prices, decent portions, attentive service. Decent sized parking lot although I can see having to park on the side street(s) if the place is crowded. If you're looking for the world's best Mexican, this isn't it. service was mediocre at best. we went in with a large group (12) and instead of pushing some tables together they made us all sit separately. The lady staff were very friendly, and took our drink orders right away. then nobody came back to our table for over ten minutes. Another lady came and took our food orders, and then the food came out before our drinks. When receiving our food, the guy that brought it out was trying to pass the plates to everyone so fast that he spilled food down the front of my dress and didn't even apologize or even offer extra napkins to clean it up... The food was sub par for the price, $17 for a small taco salad and I had to ask 3 times for some salsa to put on it (I ordered salsa with it when they took my food order). The drinks were tasty but very small and VERY expensive ($27 for two drinks). I love Mexican food, and I love chips and salsa. The salsa here is plain, no flavor, and not spicy at all (I like spicy salsa). They do not offer complimentary beans with the chips and salsa (most other places do). Just overall, a bad experience. Long wait for just a drink, rude men serving food, worst chips and salsa for a Mexican restaurant by far, food sub par at best, and it seems like they are more concerned with how fast they can get you in and out rather than any real customer service. Everyone enjoyed their meals!! My husband and I ordered the steak fajitas. They were so nicely grilled with the onions and peppers! My son and his girlfriend ordered the three combo fajitas that included steak, chicken and shrimp! Besides the sizzling pan we had Pico de Gallo, guacamole, rice and beans. The restaurant was nicely decorated with colorful God's eyes. The server was attentive and made sure we had plenty of chips and two different types of salsa. Great food,service and ambiance. Food was decent and they serve pretty big portions. The young lady that took my order to go seemed nice. I was excited that they offered margaritas to go and ordered a patron rita which was about $20 and they serve it in a sealed bottle to go. BUT when I got home and we started digging in I immediately noticed that there was no way that margarita was made with Patron! I know my tequilas and I could tell right away it was def not Patron and was either Cuervo or some cheaper well brand. I called back to let them know and talked to my server who said she made it and she claimed it was. This tequila had serious bite and was not smooth at all, it had that bad aftertaste and it was apparent even with margarita mix. I had some bad run ins with cheap tequila when I was in college and anybody that has will never forget the taste of the cheaper stuff! Nothing was done about it either. So shady and totally disappointed. Ruined the meal and the night. Food wasn't anything special and not good enough to overcome that and def won't be going back now. read more
