Alex was super responsive, and got back to me right away regarding the issue I was experiencing.

I got locked out of my apt bedroom that I never had a key for. Augh! Alex was on it, in record time, in the midst of Friday afternoon city traffic. He had the lowest price, was impressively fast with comms, arrival and completion, and impeccably mannered (I was stuck in a Zoom meeting while he worked next to me, quickly and discreetly). It was probably less than 60 minutes from when I posted my project to when he completed the job. I hope not to need his services again but will definitely call him first if I do! read more

I called Alex to have some duplicate keys made and a new lock installed on a storage unit in my garage. He was incredibly responsive, professional, and a genuinely nice guy. His work was quick and timely, and I will definitely call him again for any locksmith needs. read more

I needed help on a non-emergency basis. Alex did a great job and charged a fair price. He arrived on time and corrected all my lock and key issues in a single appointment. Highly recommended. I will use him again. read more

Trust Alex to be your go-to locksmith in a pinch! I called in the afternoon and he was at my apt complex within a few hours. He was reliable, reasonably priced, fast and friendly. Highly recommend! read more

Alex was very knowledgeable and efficiently replaced our malfunctioning door lock assembly. Good service and professional work at a fair price. What more could you ask for in locksmith service? read more

Alex saved me from a few hours in the cold drizzle. I had just returned from a business trip and didn't take a house key with me. Alex responded immediately and came all the way from the city to Berkeley. While helping me with the lock, he gave me some great recommendations for lock options. In short, he knows his stuff, is pleasant, and speedy! read more

Even though Alex was not able to solve my problem because my door hardware was very unique, he responded to me promptly and gave me a lot of fast advice. He saved me a lot of money and didn't charge me anything. Five stars he's awesome. read more

I ended up not having to use Alex's service but he was extremely professional and responded to my quote within minutes. He's who I will call if I need a locksmith. read more

Alex answered the phone right away the first and second time I called, and he arrived in the window of time he projected. He worked quickly and skillfully and had a solid understanding of products. He listens well and likes to share information. For example, now I know to be careful using a key on a Fleetwood door because it has a plastic part that breaks easily and there are no replacement locks on the market. His rates are very reasonable. Even with conversation, he rekeyed 2 barrels-- on a Fleetwood door and a Schlage wifi keypad lock-- and changed a door handle on a gate that had a riveted-on part in about an hour. read more

I'd been struggling with finding a way to get a reliable keypad for my condo's unit door. The existing mortise lock was in a non-standard size/style that I found impossible to get a replacement for. I reached out to Alex, who let me know what my options were and helped to educate me on what he thought would work best. There was no pressure and he super friendly and patient in answering all my questions. I ended up buying a new lock on Amazon that Alex recommended. When it came in, Alex was able to show up the next day and get it installed quickly with no hassle. Great communication, super professional, great quality service at a good value. I've used Nova Locksmith on multiple occasions now and highly recommend them to anyone else looking for a locksmith. read more

Exceptionally prompt. Fair price. Easy to communicate. Alex did EXACTLY what he said he would do. Could not be happier. read more

alex was super efficient and great price compared to most in the area. he had great communication and was very friendly. Quick locksmith as well! read more

Alex was a total lifesaver. I had booked him to come out and install a Google/Yale smart lock I had purchased from Amazon, but when he went to install it, the lock was jammed--he explained that it was a known product issue with this particular model (get your shit together, Google/Yale!). This was no fault of his own, of course (he tried for 15-20 minutes to get it to work, to no avail). He recommended a Schlage smart lock instead, and said he might have one in his truck that he could install on the spot, and luckily, he did! He installed it perfectly and helped me through setting everything up on the Schlage app. He really saved me from the sub-par quality of the Yale lock. He was very fast in all of his communication, showed up on time, and was considerate and kind during the install. Would definitely recommend. Thanks, Alex! read more

Quick and great service for a mail box replacement! Alex was very kind and professional

Prompt response to my request to change out some interior door knobs. ALex arrived on time for the appointment. When the decorative doorknobs which I had purchased did not work, he installed a standard setup. Told me what the problem was. And, recommended me to other knob manufacturers in the event I still wanted to go more antique looking. Great service. Nice guy. Fair price. read more

Alex was very prompt in responding to my request for a bid and he provided the best price. He was flexible with scheduling when I had to cancel the first time. Then we resolved our issue so I didn't need his services, but he will be the first person I call next time I need a mobile locksmith. read more

Very positive customer experience with Alex at Nova. I had to get my existing lock replaced by a deadbolt, which he did very efficiently and called me ahead of time with his ETA. I also asked about extra security measures we can take which he talked through with me in a very honest manner. Didn't try to sell me anything extra. Price was very reasonable too. read more

Alex did a great job with a challenging task to install new locks in an old apartment mailbox. The existing locks are discontinued so he had to make modifications on the 6 unit mailbox to install updated locks. The two repaired boxes work perfectly now. I'm very satisfied with his workmanship and professionalism. He is quick to respond to my request for an initial quote from the photos I sent to him. If you are in need for a locksmith, please contact Alex. You won't be disappointed. Good dude and very friendly. read more

Ive sat outside of my house and went through 3 locksmiths trying to open my front door over the course of a few hours. Nova opened in in under a minute. When I've called a few locksmiths over the years and they might not even have the right tools on them half the time, it's good to have someone who is responsive and can get the job done saved in your phone. read more

Amazingly quick and nice guy - highly recommend We arrived at the office this morning to find our deadbolt had failed. Within 20 minutes we were back in the office thanks to Alex read more

These reviews are bogus. Don't trust the high rating. Totally unprofessional. Discourteous, disrespectful, and will price gouge you. We were quoted $89 for service call plus $80-120 depending on the job and 20 minute wait time. The locksmith who was sent to come arrived one hour late and essentially told me that he fit in another job that was nearby before coming to us. I called the company before the locksmith got to us for an update and the dispatcher was not only unapologetic he was extremely rude, unprofessional and unsympathetic. Go elsewhere. Your money is better served with Brian at Rhinoceros Locksmith or at Mike's Locksmith and General services. read more

Alex was amazing, responsive, and efficient! I contacted him after our closet door would not open and he clearly communicated the possible issues as well as solutions. When he arrived he was able to fix it quickly with minimal noise. I'd call Alex again for any issues! read more

Alex was extremely knowledgeable in his craft, honest, professional and had great communication from the get-go. He called to say he would be coming sometime during the window we agreed on and then texted when he was on his way and then 3 minutes away. We needed to replace an old lock with a keypad lock on our gate and also re-key the front door. Unfortunately, the door's lock system was so old that re-keying would potentially not work on top of the manufacturer no longer being in business. Alex took the time to explain the situation, the pros and cons of the various solutions and was extremely patient with my questions. He worked quickly and confidently and was good to chat with as well. Highly recommend and will use his services again. read more

The locksmith helped us fix a jammed up mortise lock which required some sanding out part of the door. He was very thorough and we re-keyed another lock and made some key copies all with equipment in the truck, for a very reasonable price. Highly recommend! read more

We needed a lock rekeyed and Alex accommodated my ask for keys with a larger base because I'd been struggling to turn the standard ones in the lock. He identified that part of my problem was that the cylinder was damaged and replaced it. Pricing was reasonable, Alex was super friendly, and he did a great job. Would call again. read more

I lost my mailbox keys and my landlord quoted me $300 to call a locksmith. I made my own calls and everyone's prices were either too high or they were unable to do mailboxes. Alex had the best price in the area, I paid about $130 to change my mailbox lock. He responded quickly, came exactly when he said he would and fixed it in 10 minutes. Works and looks as good as new, I highly recommend! read more

After a really dumb move on my part, locked my keys in my car and my spare is 300 miles away. I tried some ideas but basically gave up and looked up for a locksmith. Nova responded within 15 minutes of me using the Yelp feature, text me a price (which was the best among 4 others in the area) and showed up within an hour of my request going out! Opened my car up within minutes (maybe even less, it was that fast!) and problem solved! Really happy with the service Alex provided, though I hope to not have to need him again assuming I don't get locked out! If I need lock work in the future, I know exactly who to call now! read more

I needed locks replaced while I was out of town. Alex replaced the locks super fast and then got on face-time with me to show me what was done. He dropped off the keys for me at a nearby location, which I was extremely grateful for. Superb service and very reasonably priced! read more

Tried to take apart a commercial lock to re-key it myself and broke it. Yes, I'm an idiot. Put out the distress call on Yelp. Nova was the first to answer. He showed up fast, saved me from myself and fixed the lock and charged a reasonable rate given the damage I had done and the speed of his response. I will be using Nova for all my locksmith needs in the future and can highly and heartily recommend them, Alex is a lifesaver. read more

My go to locksmith (unfortunately I need one because I've locked myself out of my apartment a few times now). Alex is very friendly and always professional. He always shows up within 20-30 minutes and has me inside 30 seconds later once he gets to my door! Payment and getting a receipt was super easy! Would definitely recommend! read more

If I could give 0 stars I would. As a woman alone in my home I was treated with disrespect, carelessness, and lack of empathy. Waited a while to review because I was generally scared of every person I interacted with at Nova Locksmith. They have multiple people who get notified for a call without notifying the locksmiths who is picking up what job... this resulted in 3 very angry locksmiths at my house and one even quit Nova Locksmith on the spot because he was so upset. Absolutely do not recommend. read more
