I had the unfortunate experience of arriving home late one evening to find myself locked out due to a stubborn glass door. After a quick search on Yelp, I came across Nova Locksmith, and I couldn't be happier with the service I received, particularly from Alex. Upon submitting my information, Alex promptly reached out to me via phone, demonstrating a proactive approach to customer service. Despite being the second locksmith to contact me, his honesty and professionalism immediately stood out. He estimated a 30-minute arrival time, explaining that due to the late hour, any locksmith would likely take the same amount of time. I appreciated his straightforwardness. What truly impressed me was Alex's friendly demeanor and transparency throughout the entire process. He patiently walked me through each step as he worked to unlock my door, making sure I understood what he was doing. His personable nature put me at ease during a stressful situation. Not only did Alex provide exceptional service for my immediate need, but he also went above and beyond by expressing willingness to take on a second job if he had the necessary supplies. His responsiveness, efficiency, and friendliness were unmatched, prompting me to secure the additional service without hesitation. Overall, my experience with Nova Locksmith, particularly with Alex, was nothing short of excellent. If you ever find yourself in need of locksmith services, I highly recommend reaching out to Nova Locksmith and specifically requesting Alex. You won't be disappointed. read more

Highly recommend! If you have to call a locksmith, you're probably in a jam. Don't panic, call Nova and they will fix it and you'll feel better in no time. Prompt, knowledgeable, skilled, professional, reasonable, efficient, trustworthy.... I could go on and on. I have nothing but praise and not a single complaint. Our front door lock that's as old as the house (seriously old) suddenly froze up and wouldn't unlock. Then we broke a key inside the keyhole trying to get in and it was now stuck inside the lock. In a semi-panic -- on a weekend, during COVID -- I found Nova based on their amazing reviews. Alex answered the phone right away and I felt better already. He gave me an ETA and came as soon as he was done fixing someone else's problem. He got us fixed up and then came back another day to change out the entire lock (a pretty big job requiring a lot more time). There was a lot of measuring, chiseling, drilling, and other locksmith magic. Alex did a great job. On top of that, he's a really nice guy and has a reassuring "Don't worry, I got this" demeanor that will make you feel that you are in good hands. It can be scary wondering if you found someone you can trust, so feel fortunate that you found Nova. read more

Excellent service. Great experience getting a new lock installed on the front door. We feel so fortunate to have found such a skilled and reliable locksmith. Alex is friendly and knowledgeable. He answers calls and responds to texts quickly. He discussed my options for a new keyless lock via text and gave me great recommendations for my particular needs. Alex showed up right on time, checked in earlier that morning, and was very professional, courteous, and helpful. He did a fantastic job installing a new keyless lock (looks great!) and made extra keys. He worked efficiently and carefully and clearly knows what he's doing. He checked in with me along the way regarding a couple of decisions/options. His rates were very reasonable. We were dreading the whole procedure of installing a keyless lock, but Alex made it simple, painless and affordable. We will definitely use him in the future. We had a very positive experience, and in addition, Alex is a really nice guy! read more

I recently had the pleasure of working with Alex to change the locks on my home, and I couldn't be more satisfied with the experience! From the moment I reached out, Alex was incredibly responsive, promptly scheduling a time that worked for me. When he arrived, he got straight to work and was impressively quick without sacrificing quality. It was clear that Alex is extremely knowledgeable about all things related to locks. I had a few questions about smart locks, and he took the time to explain exactly what I needed, why it was necessary, and which options would best suit my needs. His recommendations were spot-on, and I felt much more confident in my decision thanks to his expertise. If you're looking for someone who is reliable, efficient, and really knows their stuff when it comes to locks, I highly recommend Alex. He's definitely earned my trust, and I'll be reaching out to him for any future locksmith needs! read more

I have a very old steamer trunk, which someone inadvertantly locked. I don't have a key. I called on New Years Eve day, thinking no one would be available, but that I would arrange an appointment for the following week. Surprise, Steve was at my house in less than a half hour. He asked me to send him a photo prior to his arrival, and cautioned me that he might not be able to pick this lock and might have to pry it off. He worked on picking it for about 10 minutes and was successful, preserving the lock itself. He showed great concern for doing no damage to this old trunk, belonging to my grandfather. Once he opened the lock, he inspected it again so that if he had a similar call in the future, he would be able to retrace his work and pick the lock without damage to the mechanism. Given that this was a house call, I think the price was reasonable. read more

Alex is the man. There's a lot of locksmith scams out there but luckily we stumbled across this Yelp. We were locked out of my apartment bedroom and gave his number a call. He was dealing with another client at the time but was polite enough to answer and let us know that it'll be a 5 min wait time. I told him our situation and he was able to come within the next hour! He was very upfront and gave us an estimate on what the price would be. He even gave us a heads up call when he was 25 minutes away from our place. He was able to get through the lock in just a couple minutes and even explained to us the type of lock and what happened so we know what to do for next time. Overall great guy and would definitely recommend to hit him up if you are ever in this kind of situation! read more

I had a great experience working with Alex. He was fast, friendly, and professional from start to finish. What stood out most was how patient he was in answering all my questions and explaining things clearly. Alex also went above and beyond--he took a look at a couple of extra tasks without hesitation, which I really appreciated. He was honest and transparent about his opinions, never trying to upsell or push unnecessary work, which made the whole process feel very trustworthy. Overall, Alex was easy to work with and made what could've been a stressful situation a smooth and straightforward one. I'd definitely call him again and highly recommend his services to anyone in need of a reliable locksmith. read more

Five star service, both times, at a great price and fast! Alex arrived within fifteen minutes and the service was completed in under ten. He was friendly, professional and clearly there to help not just to make another sale. Being locked out is a little like having a dead body to bury - you have to resolve problem immediately and you are not really in a place to negotiate a better deal. Luckily, that was not the case with Alex. I felt comfortable dealing with him and felt that he can be trusted in an emergency situation. There was no "this much for cash, this much for credit card" and the price was very competitive. I would hire him again without thinking twice and highly recommend him. read more

We had an excellent experience with Nova Locksmith, specifically with Alex. Our front door lock stopped working, and Alex arrived right on time and repaired it efficiently. He clearly knows his craft--he diagnosed the issue right away, fixed it quickly, and made sure everything was functioning perfectly before he left. My husband was also interested in learning about digital lock upgrades, and Alex patiently showed us several options and explained how each would fit our door. His professionalism and knowledge really stood out. We were very happy with the whole experience and will definitely call Alex again for any locksmith needs. Highly recommend Nova Locksmith! read more

Alex is everything you could ever hope for in a locksmith and more. He is reliable, trustworthy and reasonably priced. If you have to call a locksmith, odds are you're in some kind of trouble and the last thing you want to worry about is any of the above. I have called Alex in emergency situations time and time again (I can be forgetful) and it is always a pleasure doing business with him. He replies instantly, arrives in under an hour (far under an hour, usually), and delivers friendly service with a smile. Two years and eight to ten emergency calls later (on weekends and weekdays), I can't imagine calling any other locksmith in the Bay Area. read more

My front door lock was not opening with any of my keys, the original nor the 2 spares I have. I called a friend to give me a number for a locksmith and I called Nova. Alex was at my place in less than 30 minutes. that was impressive considering he is located in SF & I'm in Oakland. He had me in my apt and had a new lock on my door in 10 mins! This guy is quick, professional and a genuinely nice guy. He asked me what I did for a living and when I told him I was retired military, he gave me a nice discount. So whether you are a veteran or not, I'd totally recommend Alex for any lock issues you have. He does vehicles also. read more

Alex is an easy going guy. Very professional as well. Took the time to help explain what was wrong and how he was going fix it. Was even able to multi-task fixing the lock and answering my kids questions (sorry about that Alex). Came briskly in time frame he quoted, and that is really incredible considering it was rush hour in the city. This guy can do magic and fix your lock the right way. He is solid. Gave us advise on preventative measures as well. If there is any other service Alex offers, don't be afraid to call and ask, he is solid, trustworthy and a professional. Thanks again bro! read more

Alex at Nova Locksmithing seriously saved the day. We had an emergency lock issue at our commercial building in downtown San Francisco, and he showed up fast and ready to help. He knocked out the lock change quickly and even fixed a damaged door frame that we were worried about. Everything was done clean, professional, and with zero stress on our end. The price was way more reasonable than we expected, especially for an emergency call in SF. Super friendly, super efficient, and clearly knows his stuff. I highly recommend Alex from Nova Locksmith- he was the absolute BEST from start to finish. Alex immediately answered his phone and was willing to address the problem as quickly as possible. Happily, Alex remedied the lock problem with finesse in no time at all. I so appreciated Alex's expertise, honesty, pricing fairness, promptness, and kind personality. Thanks again, Alex! Alex rescued us from an awkward situation when our new tenant was unable to open the front door to their unit to let in the Comcast installer. Alex came to the property in less than 30 minutes, immediately had the door open, and then made excellent suggestions (which we followed) to make the rental unit more safe and efficient. He was prompt, personable, and very knowledgeable -- I understand that his father is also a locksmith from whom Alex learned considerable skills. We will definitely be using him for our rental properties, whenever the need arises! read more

I had a broken key in the front door entry lock on Labor Day!! I called Nova, Alex, who said he could come within 15 min!!! also gave me a quote over the phone which made it much easier decision to go with Alex vs other well recognized established locksmith. By the way, the well established locksmith didn't return my call even after Alex left. So expediency to arrive (imp for multi unit apt) and getting the job done well within total time 10 min was a wonderful relief considering it was 8am on Labor Day!! Dependable, reliable and efficient!!! read more

Alex provided a quick, efficient solution for an intractable car lock problem. He is an excellent locksmith and the complete professional--knowledgeable, highly skilled, on-time, courteous, and he was kind enough to spend considerable time providing very helpful advice on product selection and how to prevent any further problems. His fee was very reasonable-- substantially less than the quotes I received from other locksmiths in San Francisco. Highly recommended!
