So my nickname is "Coffey," and funny enough, I absolutely love coffee!…read more I just don't drink it often. It's more of a little treat I give myself every now and then. The last time I had coffee was actually last year in Costa Rica, so when I started looking for a good coffee spot and stumbled across this gem, I had to try it. First of all, the ambiance and atmosphere are everything. It gives a beautiful mix of France and the Louisiana French Quarter. The moment you walk inside, it honestly feels like you've stepped into a completely different world. I only ordered a Café Mocha this time, and WOW. Easily one of the best Café Mochas I've ever had. It genuinely tasted like it was made with love. It was rich, smooth, savory, and did absolutely everything it was supposed to do. Now I'm afraid I have no choice but to come back tomorrow for the croissant and another Café Mocha because... I mean, WOW. You guys really outdid yourselves creating this place. I only have one small suggestion: it's always important to acknowledge each customer when they come in, even if you're busy or not quite ready to help them yet. Just a quick "Hi, we'll be right with you" can go such a long way. I completely understand that things get busy and overwhelming, but great customer service is always remembered. That being said, the girls were great, and I absolutely love this place. I will definitely be back. Chef's kiss.

I hate to leave a negative review, but after my experience here today, I feel I have to…read more I stopped by this restaurant for breakfast, and unfortunately, the experience was extremely disappointing. To start, there were four different prices listed for the same item, and none of them matched. The price on the menu didn't match the price on the board, and neither matched what I was actually charged. It was very confusing and made no sense. Then there was the croissant. When I received it, I could barely tell there was any egg or cheese inside. The portions of both the egg and cheese were so small that, honestly, if I had been blindfolded, I wouldn't have known there was egg and cheese in the croissant at all. I don't expect anything extravagant, but I do expect the prices to be consistent and the food to reasonably match what I'm paying for. Unfortunately, this experience fell far short of those expectations.

This morning my husband and I took his elderly father to The Hungry Hallow Cafe in Carmichael CA…read more This cute cafe is located in the corner of a strip mall and has plenty of parking. The cafe has 2 sides to sit in and is decorated with decorations of the current holiday. We had the sweetest server, Debbie, and she made sure that the coffee cups on our table were always filled with hot coffee. My father in law had the French Toast and crispy bacon. It was a large portion of French Toast and the bacon was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the Ham egg scramble with pancakes. He said his eggs were light, fluffy and very good. His 2 pancakes were large and looked really fluffy too.... I took a bite of his pancake and it has great flavor and was perfectly cooked. I ordered the veggie omelette With Jack cheese. I was able to substitute no zucchini for sausage. I choose crispy hash browns and a biscuit on the side with a side of biscuits and gravy gravy. My omelette was a 3 egg omelette, my hash browns were a perfect crispy and the side of biscuits and sausage gravy was flavorful and very good. They serve breakfast and lunch and all of their food is reasonably priced. A few lunch items, like fish n chips or a French dip are only $12.50...not too pricey at all. If you are looking for delicious hot food, friendly servers and reasonable prices this is the place for you. We will definitely be going back to The Hungry Halloween Cafe soon! I unfortunately forgot to take some pictures of our food this morning.... We were all hungry and as soon as our food came out we dug in... lol

My wife and I enjoy trying new breakfast places, and with the reviews Hungry Hollow Café has, we…read morewere looking forward to giving it a try. Unfortunately, we left wondering how it has such a high rating. I ordered the Country Scramble. The potatoes seemed boiled rather than fried and were very soft and mushy. That made the entire scramble watery and mushy as well. On the positive side, the sourdough toast was good. The biggest issue, though, was the cleanliness. In the bathroom, I saw three dead cockroaches and what appeared to be rat droppings around the edges of the floor. That was extremely unpleasant and honestly made it difficult to feel comfortable eating there. Based on our experience with both the food and cleanliness, my wife and I would not recommend Hungry Hollow Café, and we would not return. I rarely leave a review like this, but cleanliness in a restaurant is something I take seriously.

There were probably only 2 customers dining. We decided to order and dine in too since we were hungry and having a late lunch. It's a quaint Ukrainian family-owned restaurant and their servings are decently-priced. We ordered 2 chicken kievs (which are like American chicken cordon bleu). The entree comes with 2 sides: a salad and a rice, mashed potatoes or other vegetable. Check out the pic I took of our plate; it's a hefty serving and for &13.99. They also let us try the Shuba salad which in Ukranian is "fur coat" but means herring under a fur coat. According to google, it's "Diced salted or pickled herring fish (the base) * Layers of boiled and grated vegetables: potatoes, carrots, and beets * Chopped onions and mayonnaise (sometimes with hard-boiled eggs or diced apples)". I personally thought it was ok- it's like a mashed potato salad but with herring fish in it. Despite the fishy taste, the potatoes and eggs were good but we prob wouldn't order it again. We will be back to try out the desserts and the lattes. If you are looking for good Ukrainian food and want to support a small-local-family restaurant, check them out.

But just follow your GPS and you'll see the sign for Elena's Cafe! There's plenty of seating inside. The place filled up quickly around 9am on a Sunday morning so just come early! We came mainly for the painters pancakes which is a set of 5 mini pancakes and 6 different "paints" (condensed milk, chocolate, strawberry, green apple, mango, lemon curd) so the kids can express their creativity and eat it too! They thought it was so much fun. But I was impressed at the actual food and drink too! Really enjoyed my raspberry matcha. The raspberry foam was delicious but I just wanted more of it. The tiramisu latte could've been a bit better - more actual espresso and less steamed milk. But the highlight was the potato cheese pierogies. So delicious! They melted in my mouth and the bacon was a nice touch. The caramelized onions were also perfectly cooked! Love that they had photos for everything on the menu, although it does seem quite overwhelming, so maybe if they organized them better (all soups together, all appetizers, etc). I hope to return soon and try more dishes!

We were seated in a booth upon request while we waited for her to arrive. The staff were extremely friendly and accommodating to my son. When my daughter-in-law joined us, Amy took our order right away. I kid you not--I got everything I wanted from the menu and it was worth every penny spent, my son got a teddy bear pancake (which was reasonably priced), and I was even able to add an egg to my Western burger. My daughter-in-law placed her order, and off the waitress went. Moments later, our food arrived. It was fast, hot, and absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, my daughter-in-law received the wrong meal, but Amy worked her magic again. She immediately took ownership of the mistake and corrected it without us having to do much more than point it out. Afterward, they let my son pick out a toy. He ended up choosing two, and because he has nonverbal autism and doesn't get out much, that small act of kindness meant the world to me. No one stopped him or complained about him picking more than one. It was heartwarming because I often feel judged over little things by people who don't know our story. Instead, we felt genuinely welcomed here. I danced in the car and sang to my son all the way home because I was so happy after our experience. Our server was amazing; you could tell she enjoyed what she did. When my husband got home from work, I couldn't stop gushing about what a wonderful experience we had together. We will absolutely be back, and I'll be bringing more people with me!

So when I happened to be in the area, I had to stop by Mimo Bake Studio for a little afternoon snack fix. I went with the Bobaberry açaí smoothie and some mini coxinhas, and both hit the spot. The açaí was smooth, cold, refreshing, and actually filling. I'm always looking for ways to sneak in a little extra protein, so adding peanut butter was a no-brainer. Delicious and nutritious? I'll take that win. And the mini coxinhas! Usually, you'll see coxinha as one larger pastry, but Mimo makes these cute little bite-sized ones. You get four per order, which makes them perfect for sharing... although I'm not saying I actually shared all four. I'd definitely come back here for a quick snack or drink when I want something delicious that feels a little less guilty. It's always nice finding a little taste of Brazil that brings back some good memories.
