Mobile cafe madre off 28th & Valley way.

This review if for the coffee truck they currently have in midtown. They have a few lattes, teas and baked goods. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The vibe walking by is very lively and upbeat.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The music was a little too loud but the barista turned it down when we came in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was very fast and the barista was very pleasant. I ordered the Dulce Canelo which was a 10/10 and the Chocolate banana bread also 10/10, it was very moist. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a great spot for people to sit and sip right off of 28th st. & Valley way. Although seating space is limited.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Had a little time on my hands so decided to stop and smell the...coffee. I ordered the Mexican Mocha for there. I love when I'm given an actual cup and saucer for eat-in at a coffee shop. There's just something special about sipping a coffee drink from a ceramic cup. The Mexican Mocha was wonderful. Great mix of cocoa and cinnamon with a rich coffee taste. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Milagro is a wonderful Carmichael treat, offering up so many restaurants. It means this is a super place for people watching too.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The staff was friendly and service was speedy. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

The barista was friendly, but not very helpful--she admitted she hasn't tried any of the drinks because she doesn't "drink that kind of stuff." ‍ I ordered an iced dirty lavender matcha with oat milk, and honestly, it was just okay. On top of that, she was the only one working, so orders before mine took priority, which made the wait much longer than expected. [[HIGHLIGHT]]If you're looking for a spot to sit, relax, and have a conversation, the ambience is nice for leisure time.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]But if you're just trying to grab a drink and go, this isn't the place.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

I wasn't sure they were open since Milagro looked shut down, but they were. Plenty of parking and seating.

The only cafe at the Milagro Center, I used to come here quite often! Cute spot with lots of plants and seating. I usually like to support small businesses, what gives me pause is when I'm charged $.50 to add a splash of soy milk in my coffee. Is it me? Does that seem petty to charge for that? Anyway, I suppose when Starbucks lets you add milk or soy without any charge (or any other cafe that I have been to for that matter), it seems a bit petty to charge extra for this. In addition, when my daughter ordered a hot tea and asked for honey to be added, it was also going to cost an extra $.50. It's like In'n'Out charging money for a ketchup packet. (Restaurants do this in Australia, heaven forbid that ever happens in the US.) Anyone who knows me will say that I am "all about the principle." I just can't bring myself to pay $.50 for a tablespoon of non-dairy creamer to add to my coffee smh.

Café Madre is located inside the Milagro Centre in Downtown Carmichael This was my first visit at this cafe. It is between a gelato shop and a Mexican restaurant. Temps were in mid 80's today but felt like in the 90's. I ordered refresher drinks, Golden Lemonade and Madre Berry, I love the tart on the Madre Berry which included coconut water, strawberries, cardamon, and lemonade but my favorite was the Golden Lemonade with pineapple and turmeric (ordered it twice). I also ordered the Pizza Sandwich. It was okay but I'm not a fan. It's a pepperoni and cheese pizza sandwich-style. It came with chips. The two young employees were fast but when they are slammed with customers have patience as they try to get the orders out as fast as they could. Seating is limited inside but if you step outside you can enjoy your food and drink in a covered outdoor food court common area. Review #2605

Walk past this sign and enter the doors to the left to find the cafe
    Ashley C.

We had a little trouble finding this spot because there's no sign outside, but we knew it was the right parking lot because we saw Cafe Madre on the shopping plaza sign off the street. You have to walk through the large Milagro sign and you'll see a giant outdoor fireplace & seating area. The Cafe is inside through the left automatic doors. There is a restaurant inside too, and looked like some other places that either closed down or are in process of opening up but it was a nice big area with community style seating and would be a cool indoor food market. Cafe Madre is front and center once you walk in. They have different kinds of drinks to choose from like coffee, tea and fresh juices, but we came for coffee. I got the horchata latte and it was yummy! It was so creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. Love the sip lids too. My husband's almond roca latte was very strong in almond flavor but yummy - but if you don't like artificial almond flavor (think almond cookies with the almond extract) then you might not like it. It would be nice if that was a mocha so that you really get a true mix of the flavors like an almond roca chocolate candy. They had some seasonal drinks like pumpkin latte and egg nog latte but she said they were out of eggnog when my husband tried to order that. We are rarely in Carmichael but it's nice to know there's a great coffee shop in the area if we are driving through. I can't wait to see what other drinks they'll come up with for the next season.

And today was no exception. This is a long-time casual and comfortable cafe which has loyally been serving the neighborhood well. Breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner. The Community people count their lucky stars to have Bella Bru (and it's Luna Lounge) providing whatever it is you might want in terms of coffees, bakery items, main food items, wine... all served in a beautiful, modern and clean atmosphere. Dog friendly patio, bike parking and plenty of free public parking too! Wish I lived closer. I would be having my coffee and breakfast weekly in the lovely outdoors! Or my HH wine/cocktails. Service is wonderful! I have always received 5-star Yelp customer service from Bella Bru employees. Definitely service with a smile. I could not resist stopping by today and grabbing an oatmeal and a peanut butter homemade cookie to take home for dessert. They are soooo good! Treat yourself and become a regular too so you can enjoy all the delicious goodies/food Bella Bru has to offer. Yum!

Bella Bru Cafe Review August 02, 2026…read more Came in around 1:50 PM on a weekend. There was no greeting, not even a simple "hi." It had a very "figure it out yourself" kind of atmosphere. We let that slide and eventually found the printed menu ourselves. The menu clearly stated that breakfast is served until 2 PM, but we were told the breakfast kitchen had already closed early. There was no sign or notice saying this. We only found out from the cashier, who seemed only half attentive. She was still chatting with a coworker while finishing the order of the couple ahead of us and seemed more focused on the conversation than on customers. I ordered the tuna melt. The butter on the grilled white bread left an old, stale aftertaste that I had to wash down with their drip coffee. The sandwich was also poorly balanced. Instead of slicing the avocado properly, they stuffed what looked like half an avocado into it, leaving me with a bulging sandwich that had more avocado than tuna. Compared to a tuna sandwich from Quiznos or Subway at about half the price, this felt like a rip-off. Unfortunately, we still gave them another chance and ordered a slice of carrot cake. We noticed that several customers who ordered after us received their cake much sooner, even though all the server had to do was slice it from the display. Our order was served last, despite being one of the simplest. Overall, the food was overpriced, the service was inattentive, and the experience left a lot to be desired. We won't be coming back.

The inside has plenty of seating since of the chairs do not match, I'm not sure if that's the look they were going for. Our food arrives and my biscuits are hard as a rock, the gravy is hot.. my eggs are not cooked poached and the bacon was cooked perfectly. I said something to my waitress about the hard biscuit and she apologized and walked off. I was a little confused? I finish eating my bacon and my non poached eggs. At this point I was waiting on my bill and ready to leave. The waitress comes back with the check and had the audacity to say, did you not like your biscuits abs gravy? Like, lady I told you the biscuits were hard as a rock I even hit them with my fork. She apologized again and said, she forgot I said they were hard. She asked me to give her a few minutes. She came back and asked if I wanted them remade I said, no and just wanted to pay my bill. This experience put a bad taste in my mouth. I still paid full price for my breakfast even though I didn't eat the biscuits. Oh well! Their prices are great, but that's about all. I probably won't be back. There are too many breakfast restaurants to receive subpar service.

There was lots of parking right in front of the restaurant that made getting inside super convenient. There was plenty of room for us to sit at a large table with our babies in high chairs & strollers nearby. Inside the cafe is decorated very nicely. The staff were so kind and welcoming too. I ordered a mocha and the sweet cheese crepes. My mocha was the perfect balance of sweetness and chocolatey! I savored every sip. The real star of the show though, were the crepes. They were perfectly soft but with a slight crisp on the outside just like I like them. The filling was sweet but not overly and was well balanced with the slight bitterness from the berry topping on the crepes. There is also a side area to eat, however there were a number of flies buzzing around, which made it unappetizing (this was kept my review from being a full five stars). The indoor area is a mix of dark woods and faux plants, which creates a relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, there was only one plant-based (vegan friendly) option for me: the cilantro lime avocado toast. This came topped with micro greens and pickled onions, and with a side of potatoes. The portions were very generous for the price and the food was delicious. The food came out in a reasonable amount of time and the staff were kind. I also ordered an Americano that was good. This spot is like a little hidden green jewel in Citrus Heights. I hope more businesses fill out this complex so they can continue to do well.

What a surprise! I arrived around 10:30 and was the only client there. The office building itself seemed quite empty of tenants too. Not sure of what was going on in the building. The security guard was very nice and escorted me to the restaurant. I was still in time for breakfast. They had a special which I ordered. I thought it took a bit longer than it should have - an omelet and some sausage and a prebaked muffin with coffee that I served myself - but it was all good. They seemed to be working on a lot of catering orders for lunch. A mother and son came in, ordered one meal and shared it. The space is large, open, and bright. It just seemed temporary to me - not like a restaurant wanting to diners but a place to prepare their catering orders and IF a random person suddenly appeared, they could be fed. This is not an area that I frequent and so the likelihood of returning is small - not because the food wasn't tasty or the restaurant itself was unacceptable. It just is out of the way for me and though was good, I was not wowed enough to find my way back for a meal. However, if you are in the area, please check them out. A mom and pop operation that deserves support.
