I love it here! It's only a few from where I live and the drink is always perfect. I can't seem to get past the Mexican mocha. The cashiers are always so nice and fast for it usually only be one person. I always go in the morning so it's usually quiet. Perfect if you want to do work or study. My only reason for minus one star is the reward system. I have the clover app and it allows me to check in and basically do a stamp card. I have 2 free coffees now but the cashiers never know what to do so I have not been able to redeem them. My only suggestion is for them to learn how to redeem it on their end for the customer. We stumbled upon the cafe while waiting for lunch. The cafe is in the middle of the Milagro Centre. They offered different coffees, plenty of teas and also sandwiches. There was only one staff member at the time so it took a while to order and get a drinks. We got the kids hot chocolate and Horchata Latte. The latte was rich and creamy and we loved it. The kids drinks were a good size and not too hot which was nice. There were several tables in the front of the cafe and more around the centre. So it was nice to sit and take our time. read more

This review if for the coffee truck they currently have in midtown. They have a few lattes, teas and baked goods. The vibe walking by is very lively and upbeat. The music was a little too loud but the barista turned it down when we came in. The service was very fast and the barista was very pleasant. I ordered the Dulce Canelo which was a 10/10 and the Chocolate banana bread also 10/10, it was very moist. This is a great spot for people to sit and sip right off of 28th st. & Valley way. Had a little time on my hands so decided to stop and smell the...coffee. I ordered the Mexican Mocha for there. I love when I'm given an actual cup and saucer for eat-in at a coffee shop. There's just something special about sipping a coffee drink from a ceramic cup. The Mexican Mocha was wonderful. Great mix of cocoa and cinnamon with a rich coffee taste. Milagro is a wonderful Carmichael treat, offering up so many restaurants. It means this is a super place for people watching too. The staff was friendly and service was speedy. The barista was friendly, but not very helpful--she admitted she hasn't tried any of the drinks because she doesn't "drink that kind of stuff." ‍ I ordered an iced dirty lavender matcha with oat milk, and honestly, it was just okay. On top of that, she was the only one working, so orders before mine took priority, which made the wait much longer than expected. If you're looking for a spot to sit, relax, and have a conversation, the ambience is nice for leisure time. But if you're just trying to grab a drink and go, this isn't the place. read more

The only cafe at the Milagro Center, I used to come here quite often! Cute spot with lots of plants and seating. I usually like to support small businesses, what gives me pause is when I'm charged $.50 to add a splash of soy milk in my coffee. Is it me? Does that seem petty to charge for that? Anyway, I suppose when Starbucks lets you add milk or soy without any charge (or any other cafe that I have been to for that matter), it seems a bit petty to charge extra for this. In addition, when my daughter ordered a hot tea and asked for honey to be added, it was also going to cost an extra $.50. It's like In'n'Out charging money for a ketchup packet. (Restaurants do this in Australia, heaven forbid that ever happens in the US.) Anyone who knows me will say that I am "all about the principle." I just can't bring myself to pay $.50 for a tablespoon of non-dairy creamer to add to my coffee smh. read more

It was my first time here and I was excited to see they had indoor seating because I've been trying to find a coffee shop that isn't too busy I could study at. I walk in and immediately feel like I intruded on a conversation and like the employee hated her job. When it came to the tip she tossed the iPad over and just walked away. I still left a tip because I work in customer service but the atmosphere wasn't one where I felt like I could dine in and sit there to work on my laptop without bothering the employee. Café Madre is located inside the Milagro Centre in Downtown Carmichael This was my first visit at this cafe. It is between a gelato shop and a Mexican restaurant. Temps were in mid 80's today but felt like in the 90's. I ordered refresher drinks, Golden Lemonade and Madre Berry, I love the tart on the Madre Berry which included coconut water, strawberries, cardamon, and lemonade but my favorite was the Golden Lemonade with pineapple and turmeric (ordered it twice). I also ordered the Pizza Sandwich. It was okay but I'm not a fan. It's a pepperoni and cheese pizza sandwich-style. It came with chips. The two young employees were fast but when they are slammed with customers have patience as they try to get the orders out as fast as they could. We had a little trouble finding this spot because there's no sign outside, but we knew it was the right parking lot because we saw Cafe Madre on the shopping plaza sign off the street. You have to walk through the large Milagro sign and you'll see a giant outdoor fireplace & seating area. The Cafe is inside through the left automatic doors. There is a restaurant inside too, and looked like some other places that either closed down or are in process of opening up but it was a nice big area with community style seating and would be a cool indoor food market. Cafe Madre is front and center once you walk in. They have different kinds of drinks to choose from like coffee, tea and fresh juices, but we came for coffee. I got the horchata latte and it was yummy! It was so creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. Love the sip lids too. My husband's almond roca latte was very strong in almond flavor but yummy - but if you don't like artificial almond flavor (think almond cookies with the almond extract) then you might not like it. It would be nice if that was a mocha so that you really get a true mix of the flavors like an almond roca chocolate candy. They had some seasonal drinks like pumpkin latte and egg nog latte but she said they were out of eggnog when my husband tried to order that. We are rarely in Carmichael but it's nice to know there's a great coffee shop in the area if we are driving through. I can't wait to see what other drinks they'll come up with for the next season. read more

Was craving some coffee, and Yelp led me to Cafe Madre. I love how cute the decor is and the vibes here. Mexican Mocha ($5.50) -I was debating between this drink and the horchata latte, but went this drink to try first and glad I did! -This was my first time trying a Mexican Mocha and was told by the cashier that it is a mix of Mexican Chocolate powder, espresso, and milk. -I was deliciously sweet (just how I like it), loved the richness of the chocolate and of course, topped off with cute "latte Art." -My one gripe was that the espresso was a little sour, which was a minor thing since the chocolate masked most of the espresso taste. However, from time to time while sipping my drink, I did notice a little sourness (very faint) pop up. I may need to try another one of their espresso drinks to get a better feel, but likely they may need to adjust their extraction or grind size. Almond croissant ($3.85) -One of the BEST almond croissants I've had in a while!! Luckily, I got it when it was freshly made in the morning (Sat) and it was buttery, flaky, with that nice crisp to it. I am glad it was not hard like some of the other places I'v hard more recently. Tucked in the milagro center is this gem. They have a cute sitting area as well as tables. The menu has a wide varieties of coffee, juices, tea, other beverages, and sandwiches. Near the cash register there is a specialty drink. We got the horchata latte and Mexican mocha. Yum yum. Not to sweet, just right. Recommended stopping in and giving them a try. read more

meh... i drove into a beautiful parking lot and was excited to try this cafe due to the exterior. but was unfortunately disappointed by bad service, horrible latte, small portions, and extremely dusty/dirty interior. For the price the chai latte was half foam and tasted like dirt and hot water. I'm rarely disappointed by cafes but honestly this is the worst experience i've ever had. I always try to give the benefit of the doubt, for example busy day or understaffed but in this case a lazy worker who sat on her phone while we wait waited to get help. The portions are very small, and not worth it for the price. Coffee is better at home in this case. read more

This was our first time here. We ordered an Iced Sweet Latte, Iced Matcha & an Iced Tea (I forget the name). We also decided to order some sandwiches. My daughter got the Veggie Sandwich and I ordered the Pizza Sandwich. When our drinks came....they were hot (not iced) but she gladly poured them on ice for us. She then informed me that they were out of pizza sauce and asked if I wanted a grilled cheese instead. I looked at the menu again and asked for the Ham Sandwich. When our food came...it was Turkey (not ham). I decided to just keep the turkey. It was delicious, but not what o ordered (either time). My daughter loves her matcha and her veggie sandwich. Went in today to try Cafe Madre out. There was a lovely young lady named Mia working alone today. There were so many people, and she kept her cool. She attended everyone with professionalism. She handled it so well. I was impressed. I ordered the Horchata Latte, and my sis got the Mexican Mocha. I also got a toast, and she got a Cinnamon Pretzel. The service can be quite slow but only because oftenthere is only 1 person working, can't blame them for that! I like coming here, a lot of the reviews below may have just been on a bad day. We all have those right? I've been coming here for about 6 months now pretty often. There's usually just one girl there when I'm there, she's really quiet but always nice to me. I usually just get the hot mocha, it's pretty good! When I'm in the mood for food here, I get the Chipotle Turkey Sandwich, it's very good not too spicy, I'm not a fan of the lays chips that come with it but no biggie. They also have some baked items like cookies, muffins etc. haven't tried those much but they look really good too. The biggest attraction to me is the environment, I love the plants! When your hours are listed, I expect them to be accurate. If I show up at 8am (which is a very late opening for a coffee place), then I expect that you'll be ready to take my order at 8:00am. I showed up at 8:10am and the doors were locked. The worker saw me standing there and did not open the doors. Took my business to Starbucks that day. Sad, because I wanted to support local. Decided to give it another chance, and came at 8:30am. This time the doors were open, but there was a sign on the cash register that said "sorry we're closed." When the girl saw me, she removed the sign and took my order. But the fact that by 8:30am she was still not prepared and opened is pretty concerning. I then waited 15 minutes to receive a hot coffee when I asked for iced. I will not be returning. read more
