Another thing I like about this boba/coffee shop is I really like that the owners are involved with the Rancho Cordova community. They try to bring awareness and highlight the importance of education for children, and set up workshops and events to get the community together and involved. There were two staff members who seemed really nice and were engaging with their customers. We ordered the Signature Fruit Tea and one of their matchas. The Signature Fruit Tea was a jasmine tea with strawberry and lychee. When it came out, it was mostly a red color, barely saw any fruit bits of any. It was strawberry forward and I didn't taste the jasmine in the tea. The drink was quite sweet, and tasted like and appeared as if syrup was used. I took a couple sips and had to let the ice melt. Even then I couldn't finish it, and my partner ended up finishing it. My partner got one of the matchas (tasted like a regular kind of matcha like matcha latte), and it was unsweetened, but the matcha itself was not great...we're used to strong grassy and vegetal notes of matcha, but I couldn't distinguish those notes at all. It seemed watered down. By the time we had left the store and on the road, we realized it was not sweetened, so we couldn't readily go back. My partner ended up adding some sweetener at home and said it was better. I think sweetener can only go so far as to bring the matcha notes out, though. There weren't any indications on the menu to adjust the sweetness, although I'm sure the staff would probably have been accommodating. I just usually like to try items as is for the first time. Cute shop and nice staff, but I unfortunately didn't really enjoy the drinks this time. I might have better luck next time with a different type of drink.
