Mobile cafe madre off 28th & Valley way.

This review if for the coffee truck they currently have in midtown. They have a few lattes, teas and baked goods. The vibe walking by is very lively and upbeat. The music was a little too loud but the barista turned it down when we came in. The service was very fast and the barista was very pleasant. I ordered the Dulce Canelo which was a 10/10 and the Chocolate banana bread also 10/10, it was very moist. This is a great spot for people to sit and sip right off of 28th st. & Valley way. Although seating space is limited.

Had a little time on my hands so decided to stop and smell the...coffee. I ordered the Mexican Mocha for there. I love when I'm given an actual cup and saucer for eat-in at a coffee shop. There's just something special about sipping a coffee drink from a ceramic cup. The Mexican Mocha was wonderful. Great mix of cocoa and cinnamon with a rich coffee taste. Milagro is a wonderful Carmichael treat, offering up so many restaurants. It means this is a super place for people watching too. The staff was friendly and service was speedy. I'm looking forward to my next visit.

The barista was friendly, but not very helpful--she admitted she hasn't tried any of the drinks because she doesn't "drink that kind of stuff." ‍ I ordered an iced dirty lavender matcha with oat milk, and honestly, it was just okay. On top of that, she was the only one working, so orders before mine took priority, which made the wait much longer than expected. If you're looking for a spot to sit, relax, and have a conversation, the ambience is nice for leisure time. But if you're just trying to grab a drink and go, this isn't the place.

I wasn't sure they were open since Milagro looked shut down, but they were. Plenty of parking and seating.

The only cafe at the Milagro Center, I used to come here quite often! Cute spot with lots of plants and seating. I usually like to support small businesses, what gives me pause is when I'm charged $.50 to add a splash of soy milk in my coffee. Is it me? Does that seem petty to charge for that? Anyway, I suppose when Starbucks lets you add milk or soy without any charge (or any other cafe that I have been to for that matter), it seems a bit petty to charge extra for this. In addition, when my daughter ordered a hot tea and asked for honey to be added, it was also going to cost an extra $.50. It's like In'n'Out charging money for a ketchup packet. (Restaurants do this in Australia, heaven forbid that ever happens in the US.) Anyone who knows me will say that I am "all about the principle." I just can't bring myself to pay $.50 for a tablespoon of non-dairy creamer to add to my coffee smh.

Café Madre is located inside the Milagro Centre in Downtown Carmichael This was my first visit at this cafe. It is between a gelato shop and a Mexican restaurant. Temps were in mid 80's today but felt like in the 90's. I ordered refresher drinks, Golden Lemonade and Madre Berry, I love the tart on the Madre Berry which included coconut water, strawberries, cardamon, and lemonade but my favorite was the Golden Lemonade with pineapple and turmeric (ordered it twice). I also ordered the Pizza Sandwich. It was okay but I'm not a fan. It's a pepperoni and cheese pizza sandwich-style. It came with chips. The two young employees were fast but when they are slammed with customers have patience as they try to get the orders out as fast as they could. Seating is limited inside but if you step outside you can enjoy your food and drink in a covered outdoor food court common area. Review #2605

Walk past this sign and enter the doors to the left to find the cafe

We had a little trouble finding this spot because there's no sign outside, but we knew it was the right parking lot because we saw Cafe Madre on the shopping plaza sign off the street. You have to walk through the large Milagro sign and you'll see a giant outdoor fireplace & seating area. The Cafe is inside through the left automatic doors. There is a restaurant inside too, and looked like some other places that either closed down or are in process of opening up but it was a nice big area with community style seating and would be a cool indoor food market. Cafe Madre is front and center once you walk in. They have different kinds of drinks to choose from like coffee, tea and fresh juices, but we came for coffee. I got the horchata latte and it was yummy! It was so creamy and the perfect amount of sweetness. Love the sip lids too. My husband's almond roca latte was very strong in almond flavor but yummy - but if you don't like artificial almond flavor (think almond cookies with the almond extract) then you might not like it. It would be nice if that was a mocha so that you really get a true mix of the flavors like an almond roca chocolate candy. They had some seasonal drinks like pumpkin latte and egg nog latte but she said they were out of eggnog when my husband tried to order that. We are rarely in Carmichael but it's nice to know there's a great coffee shop in the area if we are driving through. I can't wait to see what other drinks they'll come up with for the next season.

I ordered a Mexican hot chocolate, not on the menu but I figured I would ask. It was the perfect addition to a cold foggy afternoon.

It specifically cites their negligence when it comes to food safety -- including their ham and cheese croissants. This is documented and public record. You can review it yourself here: https://inspections.myhealthdepartment.com/sacramento/inspection/?inspectionID=C2873A6A-27BE-4310-97F3-0336E0658D6F My son became sick with food poisoning after eating a ham and cheese croissant with moldy ham from Rancho Cordova Donuts -- yes, moldy ham. He had to be taken to the doctor because of this. This wasn't an isolated accident -- it was a direct result of their negligent food handling and total disregard for customer safety. After this incident, we went back to them expecting at least an apology. What did they do? They offered to refund $29.35 and didn't even say "I'm sorry." And again -- this is not speculation. Their last health inspection specifically pointed out negligence around food safety, including improper storage and handling of ham and cheese croissants -- exactly the item that made my son sick. This is beyond disappointing. This is dangerous. If they can't keep bread and ham safe to eat -- something you serve every day -- then how can anyone trust them with any food? Parents, friends, and neighbors -- stay far away from this place. Your health is NOT worth their incompetence, and your family shouldn't be a test subject for their lack of standards. They need to fix their kitchen. Fix their food safety. And start caring about their customers -- not just offering refunds after someone gets sick.

I came during a busy hour which wasn't idea but didn't affect anything in regard to the taste of what I got! Typically I like to find a spot that's quietly busy so if you're wanting to do the same I would try to come when it's less busy as I found myself slightly overstimulated by the business and seeing all the seats filled up which otherwise is a good sign! The Banana Dream Match caught my eye so I ordered it immediately along with an Avocado toast + egg ( extra cost). They give you a buzzer for the food and you have to find a corner to wait in that's out of the way and pick your food up by the kitchen. The vibe was very open and I liked the different seating options as well as the abundance of outlets. I ended up eating outside to get away from the busyness and the I was in the middle of talking when the taste of the Banana hit me. The best. Banana matcha I've ever had. Which I didn't expect because I've tried so many but what I loved most is that the banana flavor was sweet but tasted like real banana and the matcha flavor was still present. The banana flavor wasn't just at the top either it was top to bottom so every sip tasted the same making it soooo good!! The Avocado toast was good as well a little on the tangy side but I loved the egg. Great spot when it's less busy which would make parking easier as well but glad I stopped in to find my new favorite matcha spot.

Luckily there was no line when I was there! I pulled up to the drive thru window and initially ordered an Iced Vanilla Matcha. Unfortunately, they were out of matcha so I ended up going with my usual second choice drink which was an Iced Vanilla Chai. I also asked for light ice so it's not too much ice. The drink was made pretty quick so I didn't have to wait too long. I took a sip and was very pleased with their Vanilla Chai drink given it was my first time trying a drink from here! You can definitely taste the chai which was subtle and the vanilla sweetener made it even better. Will definitely try this place again to see how their Vanilla Matcha is!
