Plantastic Indy - Steak Hibachi meal was yummy - 25oz for $24 (enough for 2 days or 2 people)

Plantastic Indy is an A+ across the board…read more Every time I eat there, no matter what's on the menu, I know that there has been so much love, dedication and technique put into each dish. I've been eating here consistently for quite some time and I am thoroughly pleased each and every time. The owners and staff are so genuine and inviting. The food is delicious and comforting. The atmosphere is cozy and upscale. They are now doing fine dining. This is a first for Indy and I love that they are pushing forward in this space. My friend and I went on opening night and we shared the calamari. For my main dish I ordered the steak filet which came with truffle mashed potatoes, asparagus and cranberry sauce. My friend had the house made fettuccine. When I tell you it was all so delicious. It took a little more time, but that has to be expected in fine dining anyway. But the big wow is, they are making the pasta by hand prior to making the dish. That's truly outstanding. It truly elevates the dish. Everything we had was so flavorful. When I heard cranberry sauce I was like, hmm how is this gonna work?? Oh it worked! It paired so well with the rest of the dish. For desert we had the leaving the nest which was chocolate ganache on a nest of chocolate with a hand made chocolate cookie. Me nor my friend like chocolate much, but the quality and flavor of this desert was one that I could enjoy again. I will definitely be back and I suggest the same for you. Very proud of this establishment. They are resilient and brilliant and they truly care about their customers and their business. Much love.

When I go back, I would not get the hibachi again though. The only reason is it is so similar to something I make for myself at home. I should have tried something different. The wings were good. I ate a few there and brought the rest home and warmed them in the air fryer later in the evening. They warmed up nicely. The hibachi heated up well too. It made a nice breakfast this morning!

I have not spent much time in the Eastside of Indianapolis other than Irvington. Driving through…read morehere, you see the blight and the abandonment of this area of Indianapolis since the decline of manufacturing. Then again, it's not an uncommon story unfortunately- large parts of the city forgotten in terms of economic development but then suddenly needed during times of campaigning. Had taken Keystone and then Rural Street to get here, and the potholes are not kind. But, we had this place on our list and were determined to make it here at least once. Tlaolli stood out for its vegan offerings. Plenty of vegan taco options, birria (an absolute rarity to see vegan birria), and torta. They offer soy chorizo, jackfruit, and king oyster mushrooms as protein options. The exterior is colorful, and inside there are seating options. We had gotten our food to go, so I cannot comment too much on the service. Had placed our order online, and the food was ready within the estimated time in the order. We ordered the vegan birria tacos ($17.99), the vegan torta ($10.99 base but added soy chorizo, which was $3.99), and the no-no-no taco ($5.99). Our total with fees was approximately $45. Tlaolli offers outdoor seating, so when the weather is nicer this would be a good place to come. Next to the East Washington IPL branch, Tlaolli has a colorful green exterior with neon signage. Food: The food was very good. The proteins were nicely seasoned and juicy. The highlight for me was the birria tacos and the consome. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed it. 10/10. This is a great local business in the area to support: offers a diverse menu of options with food that is comforting and tasty.

Still the best taco I've had!…read more This time I dined in instead of doing takeout. It is teeny tiny inside, just a few tables. But the decor was so pretty and vibrant. I'm pretty sure the owner was the one who waited on us. He was friendly and so patient while we decided what to order. I had the chicken chipotle tacos since I remembered them being so good last time but I'm pretty sure you can't go wrong with anything on the menu.

Even though they were busy the wait was not very long and the host was so nice and I wish I could remember his name. Our server was so nice and kind and made great recommendations. I had the mocktail Nohito and it was sooo cute and delicious! The others had cocktails and a bottle of coke (yes glass bottle)- cute right?! Now we had the Karange tofu and I need that recipe! The crispiest most flavorful tofu outside and nice and soft inside. Couldn't tell it wasn't chicken! We also had oysters. For dinner I had the Katsu Curry and it was on point! And the leftovers were just as delicious. My sister had the Tantanmen and it was sooo good!! I could drink that broth. They do give you options for rice instead of noodles and broth if you like options. We also shared the Glazed tofu and yall it will change your LIFE!!! Cute monkeys hanging out everywhere with beautiful string lights and a classy understated tiki vibe. Please go here if you haven't yet. You'll thank me later

The drinks, the ramen, the dessert...we love it all, and we love spending our money at a local business. For years now, the kitchen has substituted rice for ramen for me because I have gluten intolerance. I have always asked respectfully, explained why, and said thank you, every single time. Tonight my husband and I walked down to Strangebird for dinner, ordered drinks and dinner, and I had *just* said to my husband that Strangebird has come to feel like a second home. Then the server came out and told us that the chef has decided they will no longer permit any modifications, including those that meet dietary needs. We were out on the quiet patio surrounded by other customers, so on top of being totally blindsided, it was actually pretty embarrassing, too. Folks, let me tell you how much I wish I could just eat the ramen noodles like everybody else. So much food that I love (and in some cases spent years learning to make myself) went out the window forever when my body stopped being able to handle wheat. But at Strangebird, I could still go in and enjoy the depth of flavor in every other component of a bowl of ramen. And that meant the absolute world to me. I'm heartbroken.

I was told I could have a seat wherever I liked, and a menu was placed in my table a minute later with a glass of water. There were an array if meat and vegetarian options, including combination platters. I ordered the 2 mushroom and 2 cabbage and carrot sambusas, they came with spicy green sauce which was delicious. The mushroom was my favorite! I asked hot many of the vegetables were included with the combo for 1, and was happy to find the ALL of them did -which most places limit your options. It wasn't a long wait before my sambusa to come out. And I had time to eat 2 Bru yesterday my meal arrived. The spread look bright and delicious, my taste buds agreed. The host/owner perhaps, kindly gave me a military discount without me asking and thanked me for my service. When I went to pay he asked how everything was, again. I told him everything was wonderful, and I'd definitely be back!
