The pizza is good but this is BK, $2.75 for just a plain slice is no habbit I'm rushing to develop. Considering all the more extravegant toppings are gonna run you upwards of 4 something a slice. Not Ray's has really distorted my perspective on what to expect of a pizza slice. I find their crust to cheese to sauce ratio to be spot on and I am hard-pressed to identify one topping I wasn't happy with. Usually, the boyf and I get a whole pie - I recommend eating it with someone you love in front of an old episode of 90210. Decent pizza. Ordered a large "Not Ray's" pizza and the crust was burnt and inedible around most of the pizza. The cheese was good, and while the meat toppings were okay, the vegetables seemed to have been dropped onto the pizza in large, overpowering clumps. Not cheap, I will probably not return. read more

Just tried this place for the first time, it was decent but not earth-shattering. The plain slice was pretty good all around, could've been in the oven a little longer to crisp up. The gramma slice was very good, and the gramma with pesto was excellent, I found the crust on the square pizza to be better than the round. Awesome local spot. I make a point to visit every time I'm close by. I always order a green slice and a cheese. I appreciate the cleanliness and the staff is really friendly. This is by far the bet pizza place I've ever had. Someone please let me know if you know somewhere else that can top this. My boyfriend, my cousin, and I were walking from the Brooklyn Flea Market in Fort Greene to the Brooklyn Museum to see the Keith Haring Exhibit (which the museum itself is five stars) but that's a different review. We came across a pizza place where the line was out the door. And people were piling in, coming out, all with a box or at least one paper plate drenched with an oversized slice of pizza. That was the cheesiest, best mushroom pizza, with the best dough and best crust I have ever tasted. Hands down. Even when we were passing though, people would say, hey you got Not Ray's Pizza. And you could see that the place was popular because there were pizza traces of cheese and paper plates in garbage bags on sticking out of trash cans. The pizza is amazing. Probably the best local pizza in the area, though that isn't saying much. The pizza is okay. Nothing fantastic and definitely not worthy of being called "Brooklyn Pizza." The shop is small, hot, crowded and often filled with rowdy students from the local high schools (Bishop Loughlin and Brooklyn Tech). When crowded it's nearly impossible to place your order, you've got to elbow your way to the counter and then shout your order out to the staff (but that's expected of many local pizza shops). The pizza is inexpensive and always served hot and the staff is very friendly. If I'm in the mood for a slice or two, I'd hit up Not Ray's, but when given the choice, I'd just order from Papa Johns. Also, they close pretty early, even in the summer, which is a bit of a put-off. On the block, they're always the first restaurant to be close. Disappointing. read more

Came here with my boyfriend to grab a quick dinner prior to heading over to watching a Nets game one night, and I was surprised by how satisfied I was with this place. The staff was friendly, and the pizza was delicious. Despite the fact that I had a fever that day and did not have much of an appetite, I was really satisfied by Not Ray's pizza slices - that day I had ordered a slice of Sicillian, and it was as cheesey and buttery and soft as I had wanted my pizza to be. Been going here for years and what amazes me is how that the taste of the food has stayed the same. While many business lose their taste after like a couple of months, not rays. Been going to Rays when their slices of pizza where a dollar which was like in the 90s and now their close to 3.00 but worth it though. The place is always in pretty neat shape, never any notice of bugs or dirt and grim around. The food like I already mentioned is good and the service is great to. I've had the pepperoni and the margharita slices. when you walk by it you would think it's just your average nyc pizza spot but I found the options to be better and the pizza to taste fresher. One of the best places to go for pizza IMO. Good and flavorful and some imaginative varieties also. I love their pesto pizza slice...very very good. Service is what it is...they are there to take your order and give you your order...nothing more and nothing less.
