If it's sweet that you want, then this food truck is for you! Tried a pair of Doughwichs. These are disks of frozen chocolate chip cookie dough, filled with a scoop of - - - cookie dough! The PB Fluff is peanut butter cookie cough swirled with marshmallow fluff. The Brownie Batter is a scoop of frozen brownie batter. Definitely a unique dessert. Uber sweet, so much so that I couldn't eat more than 1/4 before it was too much. That's OK, the rest saved for the next day. Next time, I'll go for ice cream between the cookie dough instead. read more

Amazing friendly service and the ambiance of the truck is friendly and draws you in. The dough which I ordered was chocolate chip dough with vanilla ice cream and peanut butter sauce. My only complaint is the vessel in which I was given my dough which. It was a flimsy paper when it needed to be a stronger cardboard bowl. Loved the variety of options including doggie cookie treats. read more

The cookie dough here is such a nice treat for a special occasion, pick me up, or just trying to fill a sweet tooth. They have a plethora of flavors, all of which will definitely satiate any sweet craving. One scoop is also a hefty scoop, which personally lasted me quite awhile (also perfect for kids). It has been a while since I visited Not Just Icing but on Food Truck Tuesday I decided to pick up a cupcake! This time I went with an Oreo Love cupcake which is a chocolate cake with an oreo buttercream icing topped with a mini oreo! The frosting was BOMB, I wish the cake was a bit more moist but it still tasted great! And, for $3 it is a great deal. FYI, get a rewards card, buy 12 cupcakes and get 1 free. read more

Wow are you sure you shouldn't be called " not much of anything"? For $3.50 a cupcake I would hope to have at least larger ones than ones my teenage girls make at home for under $5 for a half dozen with all the fancy extras. I've been coming to them for cupcakes since 2016. They are SO DELICIOUS. The cake is moist, the icing is true buttercream, & the service is great. Just how I like my cupcakes - decadent and sweet, but not overwhelming to the point that I want to scrape all the icing off. I tried the Strawberry Delight (vanilla cake with strawberry buttercream) and loved the fresh and light flavors. I actually thought the cake could've just been a taddd bit more moist, but I didn't really mind it with all the delicious buttercream and the fresh strawberry on top. When it comes to customer service, good products, and accountability, Not Just Icing is top notch! Donna and her girls work SO hard to produce the freshest, sweetest, tastiest cupcakes in all the land... they even have 2 ovens on the truck baking cupcakes- ensuring yours is the freshest and best product! The truck is located all over RDU and available for private events too. I recently hosted a company event with 3 savory trucks + 1 sweet truck, and I was lucky enough to have Not Just Icing. Donna was always so quick to respond to emails and even offered many suggestions for other savory trucks. She customized her menu to meet our Oktoberfest theme, and our employees were SO happy with this corporate event. The cupcakes were very reasonably priced (especially considering how fresh they were). My favorites were the chocolate with pumpkin icing and the chocolate cupcake with strawberry icing- it was even topped with a slice of strawberry! She offered singles ($3), 4-packs ($11), and 6-packs ($17) at our event, which was perfect for people to take some home with them. I heard nothing but positive reviews about Not Just Icing- our employees were just so happy with her customer service and products! All in all, I highly recommend Not Just Icing for your next company picnic or corporate event... if you see her truck out at a food truck rodeo or event in the Triangle, be sure to snag some of these cupcakes for yourself- I promise you won't be disappointed!! read more

Who doesn't like cupcakes, right? Not Just Icing has good cupcakes. Their strawberry icing is amazing. That said, their cupcakes aren't the star of the show on their truck. The scoops of cookie dough are! The sugar cookie with sprinkles cookie dough has seriously made a blah day 100% better. You can get it in a cone or in a cup. It's eggless dough so you don't have to worry about sickness. read more

We tried this food truck at the Durham Food Truck Rodeo and thought it was a really cool idea. Didn't get to try any of the cupcakes but the flavors looked very creative. We got a brownie batter and biscoff cookie butter dough and agreed that the brownie batter was quite a bit better than the cookie dough, which wasn't as cookie buttery as I would have liked. Still very yummy though, and very rich. read more

Not Just Icing is a new food truck (well "new" in the sense that I haven't seen it before or found any online reviews) that I discovered at the June Raleigh Food Truck Rodeo. As an initial disclaimer: I love cupcakes, and I love food trucks. So any food truck serving cupcakes is bound to get a pretty positive review from me. I was impressed by how many varieties of cupcakes that Not Just Icing had. There were at least 10, maybe 12 available on sale from the truck for the standard price of $3/cake. I asked which was the favorite of the woman working the counter and got a lemon cupcake with raspberry icing (probably what I would have chosen myself on a hot NC afternoon). It was good - the raspberry icing really stood out. It was VERY flavorful--not just generic fruity/sugary flavor, but in the sense that it actually tasted like raspberries. The lemon cake was good--not the best I've had but enjoyable. The cupcake was a little small. I generally don't complain about $3 cupcakes, but I like to feel satisfied after eating it, even if a friend takes a bite or two. With this, a bite or two turned into 1/3 of the whole cupcake! Overall, looking forward to seeing Not Just Icing around again and trying another cupcake variety. read more

These are seriously the best cupcakes around. Over the last year or so I have tried nearly every variety of cupcake offered by this food truck and each one has been delicious. The cupcakes are made with fresh ingredients and are always moist and flavorful. I think the ratio of icing to cake is perfect...not too much icing like some of the gourmet cupcakes offered around here. This doesn't affect me but I think it's cool that there are cupcakes offered that comply with certain dietary restrictions as well. read more

A wonderful variety with a refreshing menu dedicated to fruit flavors. But these cupcakes left me wanting more... in an I'm-not-satisfied (rather than a gimme-gimme more) kind of way. Perhaps the biggest fault is their size; definitely on the small side, yet priced at $3 a pop. There is a price break if you order a four-pack, and again if you order a dozen. But even with the four-pack discount, they're more expensive than competitors that offer substantially more cake. I ordered the Irish Car Bomb, cookie dough on chocolate, blueberry, and cinnamon swirl. The only true disappointment was the Irish Car Bomb which, for me, did not suggest Baileys in the cake nor Jameson in the icing. It just tasted like dry chocolate cake with a smooth vanilla buttercream. The cookie dough mixture atop the chocolate cake is exactly like cookie dough batter (in other words, delicious!), and added interest to a cupcake that was otherwise identical to the Car Bomb (chocolate cake bottom, vanilla buttercream top). The blueberry was a highlight in that fresh fruit was abundantly detectable in both cake and frosting... not too sweet, this cupcake is like a dressed-up decadent version of a muffin. The cinnamon swirl was my fave of the bunch -- think: cinnamon bun but better. The rich icing smacks of butter, and granular streaks of cinnamon sugar branch through the cake like a tasty central nervous system. The strength of the cakes is the smooth, light frosting -- not gritty, and not sculpturally hard. read more

I was thrilled when Not Just Icing was available to make cupcakes for a co-workers birthday party. Unlike other local companies who insist on making one flavor for all of the cupcakes, NJI gave us a wonderful mix of cupcake flavors and icing on our order of two dozen. The cookie dough cupcakes were gone instantly, followed shortly by the raspberry frosted. They even devoured all the Gluten Free cupcakes, which are usually left over for a day or two. Thanks for your delicious cupcakes and excellent service. read more

Excellent cupcakes and better than most I've been able to find in Durham so far. I went to the food truck rodeo today and tried their oreo cupcake. So I've been lucky enough to eat cupcakes from this truck at least 4 times in the last year. Not Just Icing comes to my workplace frequently, and I have a hard time resisting. I always buy a half dozen to bring home to my family, and we all agree that these are the best cupcakes we have tried in the Raleigh area. Always moist, wide selection of flavors, basic and fancy, with the perfect ratio of icing and cake. These bad boys don't fall over because they have a ridiculous amount of icing on top. So so good. And the customer service is excellent. The owner is always so sunny--but then I would be too if I had perfected the art of the cupcake. Food: 4 Service: 3…read moreAmbiance: 3 Date/Time: 9/28/2025 12:30pm Crowd: full bar, 1/4 full dining room Order: Turkey BLT, Philly sandwich This place is located just behind the gas station on the corner of Lynn and Creedmoor in a little strip mall. The business used to be a food truck only and they moved into this location and used the relatively small place to turn into a sports bar, keeping the "kitchen" parked outside in the food truck since the suite is an end unit. If you're a big sports fan, this place is probably perfect for you. It is set up with the bar to the far left as you enter, with a divider in the middle and then the dining area on the right of the divider....and TVs everywhere you look with signs indicating which game of interest each is tuned to. And, like most sports bars, the noise is set to loud. From the dining area, you can exit out the side to the mostly covered outdoor dining area which is where the food truck is parked, and where you go to place your order (not give it to your server who only brings your drinks) and pay for it. Also where all your condiments and napkins are located. For those of you who are not sports fans, all is not lost as the food is pretty good. Granted it's sports bar oriented but it's really pretty tasty. The turkey BLT is between large slices of toasted and buttered bread with a slightly light serving of turkey. The Philly is on a small hoagie and has some kick to it with all the jalapeños. Standard sandwich orders come with chips but fries are available for an upcharge. Service is, well, again it's a basic sports bar so don't expect sit down restaurant service but the folks are mostly friendly. Bottom line is if you love to sit at a bar, or eat grill food, and watch your favorite team on tv with friends, this place should satisfy you. For those who just want some good grill food, order out or if it's a nice day, sit outside where it's not as noisy.

Started with the pernil mallorca melt... mouthwatering pork roast, slow-cooked & fork tender, on sweet-ish mallorca bread with melted cheese and a spoonful or two of the pork juices. Excellent. Next, a Cuban sandwich. The same pork roast, this time with as slice of ham, Swiss cheese and sliced pickles, slathered with mustard on pressed mallorca bread. A great rendition of a Tampa-style Cuban but missing that Cuban bread. Also tried a trio of empanadas. The beef is a hearty mix of chunky beef, well spiced, juicy and tender. The chicken is chunks of white meat, with slivers of carrots and other vegetables. A little more bland than the beef, but still flavorful, moist and tender. Each was ensconsed in a traditional half moon pastry and fried deep, golden brown. Not at all greasy, these were crunchy, savory and delicious. Honorable mention to the s'mores empanada. The same half moon pastry, stuffed with chocolate, marshmallow and graham cracker, then deep fried. WAY better than your standard cookout s'mores; these were decadent and sweet. The perfect dessert to top off the meal. Be on the lookout for this food truck. Really good food - fresh and delicious.
