For the sides that I got, the cucumber salad that I received was poorly represented... ABSOLUTELY 2 onions slivers, with a half assed order order of cucumbers. For the fries that came with the meal, I received 17 fries.. as I expected a lot more.. with flavor. After eating their fries, it feels like the fries were previously frozen. Not much flavor other then a little bit of salt. The other side I ordered, was the cucumber with onion (bc sweet potato fries were not available) ...it was very little.. was very disappointed With the beef brisket I had. It was only 3 pieces .. most were vet Fatty... b.ut it still was extremely tasty. .. Slow service, lack of resources, especially being the "exclusive'food truck here, I would expect a lot more. This was pretty tasty! I ordered the Carolina Fries and they were topped nicely with pork, coleslaw, pimento cheese, and BBQ sauce. The fries were really tasty and crispy, they were kind of coated in a breading and fried. The pork was also really good - my only complaint is that I wish there was more of it as there wasn't much. The jalapeno pimento wasn't as spicy at I wanted it to be; it kind of just added a nice creaminess to the meal but not really any flavor. The coleslaw was fantastic and not too liquidy for the fries. I'd definitely recommend this food truck. Like most food trucks it is a little more expensive than I think they should be but at least the drinks are cheap. The Humble Pig took the cake at the most recent Durham food truck rodeo! After an hour and a half of stumbling around the park like hungry zombies, we hit this place up as our third stop! As we inched ever closer to the order window, items started to disappear off of the already vacant chalkboard menu -- with the vacancy of our much anticipated brisket and sweet potato fries. We ended up ordering a Smoked Chicken Wing and NC Pulled Pork Sandwich. You might be thinking "WTF" with the attached $2.50 price tag for the chicken wing... but let me tell you, it is WELL worth it. It's a whole wing (3 joints, wingette and drumette), smoked to tender perfection. It melted in my mouth! As for the sandwich, the smoked, shredded pork was squeezed between two soft, pretzel-like kaiser buns with a dollop of slaw on top. We added a heavy drizzle of "Kickin' Butt" spicy, sweet, tomato-based sauce to finish it off. By far, this is the best BBQ I've ever had in my life! Tender, smoky, shred-dy... a delightful marriage of flavors. This heavenly BBQ managed to soothe my 5-year-long, sorrowful cravings for the firehouse, smoked bbq from my hometown. OH MY DAYUM -- this is how BBQ is supposed to BE! Time-wise, it was a 15min wait to get to the ordering window and a 10 minute wait to get to the food (this was after the big rush) -- but the food is WELL worth your time. Oh wow! Eating at The Humble Pig was a humbling experience! especially because they were parking so close to Humble Pie last night! I've seen this truck about 2-3 in the past month whenever I leave Tasty Beverage Co. Another one of their usual parking spot is on Cabarrus St in front of Deep South The Bar. Even before I see the smiling face greeting me I already smelled the deliciousness. Wasting no time, I quickly ordered a barbecue taco, while checking in on Yelp. That's right, be sure to check in here to get your complimentary dessert. The Pumpkin Pie flavor was awesome. The delicious pulled pork barbecue blended well with the sweet slaw, and everything is served on a deep fried flour tortilla. You can make this even better, topping your pork with one of their signature sauces. You definitely want to try Kickin' Butt Sauce or that tangy mustard sauce; but if you just want to be a BIG BABY and whine about the spiciness, then you can certainly use the Butt Sauce, and I will just silently mocking you behind your back. We also utilized the Yelp check-in offer and got a complimentary dessert -- they had two, and I opted for the seasonal pumpkin cream pie, which was a cup with a swirl of pumpkin-y mousse and whipped cream atop crushed crust. After all the rave reviews I knew I had to try out the Humble Pig stat and as luck would have it, the Raleigh Food Truck rodeo was happening this past weekend, woohoo! $8 for the sandwich alone which is sorta pricey and I HAD to try the sweet potato fries. Thankfully the wait isn't too long for the Humble Pig which is surprising. 5 - 10 minutes later I get a large sandwich with a small plate of waffle fries, score! I squirt on some kickin' butt sauce and run off to find an empty seat at the rodeo. Humble Pig puts some great looking heavy slaw on top of the sandwich and there's a heaping pile of pork. I bite in and the bun takes it all well, it's got some moisture but the bun holds up nicely with some softness underneath. The meat is solid, tender, well pulled with some decent flavor. And it's a lot of food. But in all honesty, I liked the sweet potato fries better. Reminds me of a version of Chick Fil A waffle fries, it's well-fried, crisp with tender sweet potato inside. Overall a solid meal here at Humble Pig. I'm still trying to figure out how much I liked their pork. It was good but right now I'm favoring the pig served up at Porchetta over the Humble Pig. Humble Pig is by far the best food truck rolling around the Triangle. We hit it up during the DFTR and we were blown away by the quality of their food. By the time we placed out order, a majority of their items were cleared from the board, having run out. Their staple pulled pork sandwich and full chicken wing were still available though and we ordered what we could to sample as much as possible. We were praying for them to still have their sweet potato waffle fries by the time they got to us, but a couple chumps ahead of us ended up getting the last order. It was the first time I ever considered pulling a waffle fry heist, but security was pretty tight that day. The pulled pork sandwich was one of the best I have tried, and this is includes the dozens of restaurants I've tried looking for the best real deal Carolina Q. The bun held everything together so well, it was almost like a hybrid keiser-pretzel roll. I went with the Butt Kicking sauce and it was tangy with a bit of zip, but nothing out of control. The pork was juicy and melded the sauce and slaw together perfectly. The full smoked wing was aesthetically horrifying to some, but once you sat down and went to work with both hands, you'll find the chicken is super tender and jammed with smokey richness. For $2.5 per wing, I'd be happy ordering a couple as a snack with a cold beer. At our recent company picnic, The Humble Pig truck sure did pump out some tasty smoked BBQ! We chose the Humble Pig food truck/trailer because BBQ goes great at any corporate event, and they certainly didn't disappoint. Megan (their event/catering coordinator) was great to work with- good customer service & very accountable. The beef brisket was by far my favorite, but the pulled pork was a close second. I love their spicy housemade BBQ sauce! Though the slaw wasn't amazing, the sweet potato fries were on point. The plates are $10-13 each but you definitely get what you pay for & the portions aren't skimpy. Wow. Just wow. I didn't intend to buy anything from the Humble Pig when I hit the food truck round-up at Perimeter Park yesterday. The friend I was with just wanted to take a peek at their menu so I walked over with her. She mentioned that she didn't like brisket and I briefly questioned our friendship. What kind of person doesn't like brisket? The guy at the window apparently agreed and offered her a sample. I tried it too and immediately ordered a plate of brisket to take home for dinner. This is the best brisket I have had since I've moved to NC. Possibly the best brisket that I've had ever if I'm telling the truth. I'm a huge brisket snob and this was so good it's got me still fantasizing about it. It was served with a side of coleslaw, which sort of tasted like cabbage with a bit of vinegar. I've been on the hunt for good smoked wings lately, and Humble Pig was suggested as a strong contender for the best ones in town...so when I saw that they'd be at the Durham Food Truck Rodeo, I had to give them a shot. I started out with the smoked wings, which were very tasty and had a crispy skin. The only thing that bothered me was that the chicken seemed to be really greasy. Overall, though, the taste was on point. Then I tried the pulled pork sandwich with sweet potato fries. Unfortunately, the pulled pork left a lot to be desired. Beware the Yelp address, find this place, it's worth it!!!! The listed address was wrong, but we called and found out the food truck was at the Fortnight Brewery. It's was cold, it was windy, it was Soooo worth it. I asked what was good for first times, and was given a nice sample of the pulled pork and the brisket. Both are delicious, but the brisket was a bit fatty. I opted for the pulled pork dinner with sweet fries and coleslaw with fennel. The meat was moist and was very delicious by itself. I tried all the sauces, butt, sweet butt, and the eastern Carolina vinegar. All were great, but if fixed to choose is pick the can't vinegar. The fries were crispy on the outside, and hot and cooked perfectly on the inside. Not like some places with too much mush, or too chewy. I can't wait to try to make the slaw with developing. My coworkers decided to hit up the RTP food truck rodeo and The Humble Pig caught my eye. I'm always down for exploring new BBQ places. My coworker got the Beef Brisket plate with 2 sides and so did I. First impression was that $13 for lunch was a bit much. We later found out that it was $10 for the brisket and slaw and $13 for that and fries. So basically, we just paid $3 for fries. I'm thinking this better be some amazing fries. The Food: Beef brisket was actually quite tasty. The meat was tender and had a nice smokey flavor. I tried it with the butt sauce which had the right amount of sweetness to it. The fries were good, but did not live up to the extra $3. The Service: The guy taking our order had an attitude when I asked a question. That itself makes me not want to come back. Though admittedly some reviewers are bias in favor of certain businesses, some hold vendettas towards them and review accordingly, the large majority are looking out for the next customer! I refuse to drop my rating for a disgruntled owner that can't handle feedback. Instead I keep it at a reasonable 3* for average experiences. The line for The Humble Pig at the Food Truck Rodeo today was intimidating, but I was determined to give it a try. I've had my eye on this truck for awhile, but sadly it doesn't seem to come to Durham too often. I appreciated that the line moved surprisingly quickly. The people in the truck definitely appeared to be well organized, and handled the crowd like a pro. They were incredibly nice and friendly, too. When I finally reached the front, I was a bit sad that they didn't have dessert (so I couldn't use the yelp check-in bonus) but quickly brightened up when I saw SWEET POTATO FRIES. Yeah, I got those, as well as a pulled pork sandwich. Ten minutes later, I happily picked up my eats, and saw a giant shiny bun filled with succulent tender pulled pork pieces, and waffle sweet potato fries which were bright orange and sprinkled with cinnamon. I slathered some of that tomato-based Kickin' Butt (hee!) sauce on my pork (the other options were a spicy mustard South Carolina sauce, and a NC vinegar sauce), and chowed down. Oh man, it was delicious. It didn't have those crispy bits which makes the BBQ at The Pig out-of-this-world, but it was smokey, flavorful, and tender but not soggy...perfect in texture. And the sauce was amazing, similar to the sauce I used and loved at BBQ joints in Nashville. The sweet potato fries? Holy mother, they were awesome. Close to the best I've ever had (Puckett's Grocery in Nashville), and definitely the best I've had in Durham. Next time I gotta try their desserts! And everything else. Tried Humble Pig for the second time this evening at the Carrboro Block Party. The menu was a bit more limited than in my previous encounter, so I decided to go for the Smoked Taco. Really liked the option of corn or flour tortilla (corn of course!) Did two tacos & one side for $10. The taco was delicious: the meat was juicy, flavorful. Nice amount of coleslaw to give it some crunch; a little sauce provided a bit of heat. And excellent corn tortillas! I was impressed by a taco from a BBQ food truck. My only disappointment was the sweet potato fries. I am a huge fan of the S.P.F.s and these were even WAFFLED. But, I found them a little too soft and a little too sweetly seasoned. The Humble Pig is just about as good as BBQ trucks can get. I absolutely love these guys and have used them several times at our brewery. To keep it simple, here's a rundown of experiences: Service: Fantastic, quick, pleasant. Most popular trucks have very long lines when things get busy but they always keep the line moving because of their wonderful organization behind the scenes and efficient preparation methods. Food Quality: Their brisket is one of the best in the area, and I'm not just talking about food trucks. I'm talking about restaurants too. Melts in your mouth, minimal fat content, wonderful smoke flavor. Two thumbs up! Price: While they are admittedly on the higher side for some people you are definitely getting your money's worth. After all, you're getting almost a full pound of well-prepared, smoked meat. Plus they've recently added a delicious $5 pulled pork taco with slaw that is delightful! Responsiveness: On several occasions we had another truck either double book themselves or not show up. When I called The Pig to see if they were available they would be here immediately in full regalia and handled their time slot professionally & efficiently. The Humble Pig has never double booked on us or not shown up since we've had them booked at the brewery. That's so important in the business that I am in that I can't stress their loyalty & ethics enough in keeping an organized schedule. You can definitely count on them. Catering: While I can't personally comment on this side of their business, I can say that I've heard great things from friends & if their organized schedule keeping is any evidence I'd say catering with them would be a joy. Personality: Ross, Jessica, & Becca are a joy to be around. They're funny, upbeat, & very serious about their business. I was able to eat here yesterday at the Mason Jar Lager Company opening night! The food was amazing. I had the Carolina fries! They were big enough for a few of us to share. The Humble Pig puts out some GIANT BBQ sandwiches. They are very tasty--although so big that you better grab a fork along with your meal! They also have several house-made BBQ sauces to choose from. And, they have a great website and are easy to find, which is a huge benefit to any food truck in my book (what's the use if I love your food and I can't track you down when I get a craving?). A sandwich was $8 in the last food truck season (checked online and looked like it's up to $9), which is the reason for four stars instead of five. A few of the other local BBQ trucks are slightly better value (sandwich and a HUGE side for the same price). Overall, I'm a big fan of this truck!! read more

I had my first Humble Pig experience several weeks ago at Oak City 7 in downtown Raleigh. My food was delicious! I was talking about it all night. I had a beef brisket slider, baked beans & banana pudding. The beef was tender, and the sauce that I added was tasty. The baked beans were pretty much perfect---thick sauce & spicy. The banana pudding was a great ending---pieces of banana and vanilla wafers just how I like it. The Humble Pig is a little pricey, but quality ingredients do cost more. A little more food for the money would have been nice. I emailed the owner to let her know how much I enjoyed my meal, and she sent me a very nice email back, which I really appreciated. HOLY WINGS, BATMAN!!!! My office has field-tripped out to the neighboring parking lot for Food Truck Fridays a few times, and this truck is always a hit. The guy who works the window is always so nice and the line moves quickly. I finally got a chance to have their wings before they sold out and they are HUGE and seasoned well. I didn't even use the "Butt Sauce" (hehe) but next time I will be sure to try it with that. The beer fries are super awesome, as well as their baked beans. And I don't even like beans!!! Good food, bad business! Humble Pig came to our office a couple of weeks ago. Their food is tasty, but pricy. I had the brisket - very fatty - with the fennel slaw - very fresh - and beer fries - tasty, but not many of them. The total price was $13. That seems like a lot of money for lunch. It is! But the funny part is that I used a credit card to pay. I wasn't charged $13 as quoted. I was charged $14.14. I never signed for anything. I assumed my total was still $13. My coworker had the same thing happen. $14.14 to her debit card. But our other coworker who paid cash for two pork sandwiches with slaw gave a $20 and got exactly $2 change back. He was not charged a "tax" or "surcharge." We were never quoted that tax or fees applied. Their signs do not state that taxes or fees apply. Are they only charging tax on those who use cards with a paper trail? Does that mean that they aren't reporting cash as income and aren't charging/paying taxes for those who pay with cash? I'm really disappointed by the BAD business practices! I won't be going to Humble Pig again. I find them to be shady. read more

Never done a yelp review before, made an account just to leave these guys the review they deserve. The food is incredible, I've never had barbeque this good. I keep track of their schedule and find them whenever they're anywhere near me and I have money. I had a terrible day today, remembered they were going to be near where I live, and decided to eat some Humble Pig as a pick me up, and it was fantastic as always---but what's more, they're just great people who cheered me up by being great people. The smoked wings were amazing and fried to a unique crispy perfection. It wasn't fried chicken, but the skin was crackling and the meat was tender. I also tried the pulled pork, but was somewhat disappointed. Maybe it was because it was at room temperature when I ate it. Just had lunch at The Humble Pig, since they were parked down the road from my office. It was my first visit to this truck and I tried the two smoked tacos deal with a side for $11. I had one pork taco and one brisket with a side of cole slaw. Both tacos were delicious! Not your typical taco. You can think of them as "red neck tacos" and boy did I savor every bite! As much as I liked the pulled pork, I think i liked the brisket even better. I wish I had known the tacos came with slaw on top, then I wouldn't have ordered it as a side. I liked the slaw, but I think sweet potato fried or beans would have made a better side. Oh well, I chalk that up to being a "noob" and will know better next time!
