I received a delicious birthday cake from here as a gift a few years ago so I decided to stop by to try out some of their cupcakes. Its conveniently located in the shopping center behind Triangle Town Center Mall. The decor and interior is so beautiful and the variety of cheesecake, cupcakes and pies are great. I chose the strawberry cupcake/cheesecake and it was just ok. The cheesecake almost taste like the no bake cheesecake you buy from a grocery store and the graham cracker crust at the bottom was just crumbles and not really a crust. I also tried the white chocolate macadamia cupcake and that was really good. The icing was light and sweet and the cake was moist and had a great flavor.

They are phenomenal. I had a vision for my grand twins birthday and other places told me they could not do it. I called and went in and they saw my vision and made it happen. The cake was moist. Icing not to sweet and was decorated beautifully. You get what you pay for and I am so glad I did not settle for what others were willing to do. Go check them out. You will love them.

I was looking for a black owned bakery in the area and found their yelp site. Their service was amazing I can't remember the lady's name who greeted us, while the owners were away. I decided very last minute I wanted a birthday cake and understandably they weren't able to make it, but I was able to get cupcakes that weekend and they were incredible. Super moist and flavorful. Will be back for another special day hopefully putting in my order in enough time to have one of their masterful cakes.

Soooo, yesterday we took my oldest daughter shopping in Raleigh for her birthday. Typically we make our own cakes ( I'm a baker) but since we were put so long we decided to end our day with cupcakes from Cake Couture. We park and walk over, get to the door a pull...IT's LOCKED! I check my watch and the time states 5:45! I look at the door and the hours are posted very clearly and they say Noon to 6:00pm! What the hell kind of business closes 15-20 early?! Meanwhile, there were 3 people in the front of the store, I assumed they worked there and they were just casually conversing and lounging behind the locked doors. I'm sorry, but any business owner should know that 15 minutes can certain impact your profit. Needless to say, I'll never go back!

Almond cake, buttercream, fresh berries. It has a delightful juxtaposition of richness and freshness, like créme brûlée with fruit on top.

Stopped by here last night after dinner on a whim. The staff and I'm assuming the woman who was the owner (I'll have to get her name next time) were very friendly and helpful. The bakery itself was GORGEOUS. I mean really. I just wanna go hang out there, eat cupcakes, and be surrounded by the glamorous atmosphere. My selection was an almond buttercream cupcake with fresh berries nestled into the icing, and topped with a dash of edible silver glitter. I mean, come on, does it get any more fabulous than this? And the cupcake was DELICIOUS. I was *slightly* worried the bakery might be all show and no substance, but to my delight, the cake was soft, moist, and decadent, and the icing was just the right amount of sweet richness without being too sugary. Whoever made these recipes is extremely talented and has found their calling. Can't wait to go back! Which will probably be today...

I love cake. A lot. With that being said - I was really excited to try this place since it is close by my house. I give this place 5 stars for ambience, friendly staff, and overall display, but only like 3.5 stars for actual cupcake taste and quality. I was greeted by the owner almost immediately upon entering, it was a quiet rainy Saturday afternoon so I imagine pretty slow for her. She was very friendly and gave me the rundown on all the cupcake flavors available that day. I chose what she said was through signature cupcake, Strawberries and Cream - strawberry cake with buttercream frosting that had a hint of cream cheese. I also selected the vanilla with vanilla frosting. I got them both to go. The cupcakes were very reasonably priced at $2.75 each and they were beautifully decorated. Unfortunately, when I got home a short time later and tried a bit of each, the cakes were both kind of dry. The taste was great, but not as moist or dense as I prefer. The icing didn't to me taste like full on buttercream (to me this means butter and powdered sugar and a bit of milk or cream). It was sweet and had the perfect texture but it was almost too sweet and reminded me of store bought cake icing. I think I'll definitely be back, to try something else. It's a cute place and hoping the dryness was a fluke.

Ok so I've waited on writing this review because I didn't want to be mean or negative....but I'm still kind of upset with this place and their cakes. I was excited about this place because it's a Black Owned Business and I was told that they could do the drip cake that I wanted for my 30th birthday. I went to the location....which is pretty cute btw....and met with a cake designer. My first issue was that the prices on the website are apparently wrong. For a 6 inch cake, it's actually $65 instead of $45. I told sis that the website was wrong and to this day...3 months later, the prices on the website are still wrong. We sampled some cupcakes (banana pudding was good flavor but kinda dry and the strawberries and cream was dry with no flavor) and just chalked it up to them being left out in the display case all day. Showed them a picture of the cake I wanted and they were all excited promising that they could do the cake how I wanted it. Went to pick up the cake....didn't recognize it as my cake because it looked completely different than the picture. It was cute, but definitely not what I wanted nor expected. The cake was frozen solid so we had to let it sit out for a few hours before we could eat it. The flavor (strawberry lemonade) was actually pretty good which is why I'm giving two stars (for the flavor and friendliness of employees) but the cake was def overpriced and not what was promised. They overpromise and underdeliver FOR SURE! Would not frequent this place nor recommend if you're looking for a cake or cupcake for a special occasion. See the attached pics of what i wanted vs what i got...Tragic.

Strawberry Shortcake, Maple Bacon, Carrot Cake, Red Velvet. Yumm!!!

I used to live across the street and would always see the sign. Today I decided to stop by to get cupcakes for a classmate. The decor is so nice and clean inside the shop. I ordered 6 individual cupcakes and found out my friend was allergic or didn't like peanut butter. So I called to see if I could bring it in to exchange it, Brie said of course. But before I could get my wheelchair back out of the car and hop in it, she brought another box out to me with the exchanged cupcake and took the other box with the peanut butter one in it. I will be going back, customer service was above and beyond in my opinion. Everyone loves the cupcakes, simply delicious!!!!

The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, and the staff was pleasant from the moment we walked in. Even during breakfast hours, there wasn't a long wait. The shop itself is beautiful. There's an antique cash register near the counter that adds so much character, and I love that the menus are handwritten. Their merchandise is really cute, and they also make gourmet marshmallows. Everything in the case looks and tastes gourmet and made from scratch. They even offer wedding cakes. My total for breakfast for myself and coworker came to $18, which I found very reasonable. The iced Americano was strong in the best way. You can actually taste the espresso, and it didn't taste watered down or cheap at all. The only downside is that they don't serve whipped cream for iced coffee. The almond croissant was perfect. Sweet and buttery on the inside, crunchy on the outside with that lightly crisp, sugary layer that gives i texture. It was balanced and done just right. Overall, a solid breakfast spot with quality pastries and great pricing. I'd definitely stop in again.

The chocolate brownie is thick and rich, but not too sweet, and the marshmallow cream is divine, especially with the ice cream. The service is great and relatively quick, and everyone I've met there is kind and willing to help. The inside is a bit small, so smaller crowds are better and it does tend to get crowded later in the evening and on weekends. The outside street sitting area is nice too and hopefully will be fully fixed soon. Overall a great places to stop for drinks and desserts after a nice meal! Little did I know Cupcake Stop Shop had quietly opened, tucked away in an indoor area of multi-vendors in Moore Square. I noticed they were listed as a vendor at the upcoming Yelper party, and finding myself in the area for First Friday, I eagerly pounced on a preview. It's a tiny and unassuming shop -- in many ways it feels like it's still growing into its decor and intended atmosphere. But the cheery tower cupcake display on the right and the filled cases at the cashier counter both pulled me in. I ended up with a half-dozen flavors (spurred on by the huge variety, as well as a Yelp deal!) and a couple of cake truffles (think: mini cake balls). The owner is incredibly nice and personable, and I have to credit her with having both the creativity and dedication to churn out so many different varieties... a definite strength of this shop. But I feel I'm becoming a bit of a cupcake snob -- as you may gather from my lengthy, growing list of cupcake reviews -- and there were a few things that fell short for me with these... size-wise, they are more petite than most, but I think that the reasonable price reflects this. The main fault with the cupcakes is in the sweetness. I know some will call me crazy: It's a cupcake -- of course it's sweet! But I think mastering the cupcake (and flavors like Chocolate Covered Strawberry) is all about mastering the balance of the flavors of the cake, the filling, the icing, and the chocolate drizzle. Instead of getting a harmonious blend of tangy strawberry, creamy whipped topping, sweet yet summery cake, chocolate bitters, I just felt like I got a lot of sugar. And this was true of most of the flavors. Of the bunch, my favorite was definitely the Snickerdoodle (in which the cinnamon really offset the cake nicely), followed by the Banana Puddin (a close taste resemblance of the traditional). I did think the cake truffles were winners -- fudgy, rich chocolate on the inside, and a light white chocolate candy coating on the outside... but they are quite small. Turn 'em in to fuller-sized cake balls, and they'd be irresistible to this sweet tooth!
