It's a solid cupcake The cake was moist and had a good perfect cake consistency. The location is beautiful and we were greeted joyfully as soon as we entered. The person behind the counter described each option. (See pictures) Then we looked around at all the cakes on display and they have window so you can watch them work on masterpieces. Some 5 year old was getting a better cake then I have see at most weddings. The overall winner was the pie, it was a perfect texture and the nutmeg came through. The toffee cupcake was just ok. I heard about Cake Couture from my cousin, so we had to come for a visit. When one walks in, he or she is greeted by the warm colors of black, gold, and white. The atmosphere is very welcoming and the customer service is amazing. My cousin and I tasted the Butter Toffee Crunch and Strawberry Shortcake cupcakes; the food left us speechless. I received a delicious birthday cake from here as a gift a few years ago so I decided to stop by to try out some of their cupcakes. Its conveniently located in the shopping center behind Triangle Town Center Mall. The decor and interior is so beautiful and the variety of cheesecake, cupcakes and pies are great. I chose the strawberry cupcake/cheesecake and it was just ok. The cheesecake almost taste like the no bake cheesecake you buy from a grocery store and the graham cracker crust at the bottom was just crumbles and not really a crust. I was looking for a black owned bakery in the area and found their yelp site. Their service was amazing I can't remember the lady's name who greeted us, while the owners were away. I decided very last minute I wanted a birthday cake and understandably they weren't able to make it, but I was able to get cupcakes that weekend and they were incredible. Super moist and flavorful. In a word: WOWZERS! I visited Cake Couture Boutique as part of a cash mob experience. I arrived around 3PM, much later than everyone else, and stopped at the desk that is smack dab in the front as you open the door. At first I thought it must be some type of registration desk, but the nice lady sitting there assured me that it was not. I am not quite sure what it was for. I proceeded further in to peruse the specialties of the day. There were about five different flavors of cupcake, of which I chose the Lemon Chiffon, to go. The cupcake is packaged very nicely in a white box and you are given a fork, the plastic kind that looks like a real fork, which I thought was very classy. The cupcake was very moist and flavorful and the icing was whipped, light and fluffy, and not too sweet. A great combination! Who knew cupcakes could taste so good?? The cupcakes run less than $3 per. If you decide to eat-in, the ambiance is really nice. It has the feel of a true, stylish boutique. read more

Soooo, yesterday we took my oldest daughter shopping in Raleigh for her birthday. Typically we make our own cakes ( I'm a baker) but since we were put so long we decided to end our day with cupcakes from Cake Couture. We park and walk over, get to the door a pull...IT's LOCKED! I check my watch and the time states 5:45! I look at the door and the hours are posted very clearly and they say Noon to 6:00pm! What the hell kind of business closes 15-20 early?! Meanwhile, there were 3 people in the front of the store, I assumed they worked there and they were just casually conversing and lounging behind the locked doors. I was in town for the weekend and looking for a last minute cake for my cousin's 40th birthday. One day in advance was too soon to get a nice custom cake ordered so I decided on a variety of four dozen cupcakes. All of the flavors were distinct and robust, tasing like what they were described as. Cakes were moist, frosting was light and fluffy while still tasting like a full bodied frosting, and the presentation was fully on point. Let's be honest, pricing on cupcakes is always ridiculous when you are buying for a large crowd, a sheet cake will be a much more cost effective solution. That said $35 for a dozen artisan cupcakes is a decent deal in this day and age. The presentation and wow factor of a really nice tray is worth it to those who want to spend a little more. I highly recommend Cake Couture and would be dropping in for a single cupcake after a nice lunch once in a while if I lived in the area. read more

I love the cupcakes and cake from this bakery! I'm in awe that there's even people saying anything different. My husband and I have gone so many times we are on a first name basis with the owner. The cupcakes are always moist and the icing is light and delicious. My husband surprised me with a cake from here for my birthday and I think it lasted 2 days before we finished it. Stopped by here last night after dinner on a whim. The staff and I'm assuming the woman who was the owner (I'll have to get her name next time) were very friendly and helpful. The bakery itself was GORGEOUS. I mean really. I just wanna go hang out there, eat cupcakes, and be surrounded by the glamorous atmosphere. My selection was an almond buttercream cupcake with fresh berries nestled into the icing, and topped with a dash of edible silver glitter. I mean, come on, does it get any more fabulous than this? And the cupcake was DELICIOUS. I was *slightly* worried the bakery might be all show and no substance, but to my delight, the cake was soft, moist, and decadent, and the icing was just the right amount of sweet richness without being too sugary. The design is so chic, and gorgeous tiered cakes around the space provide examples of what these artists are capable of. My kids destroyed their cupcakes and gave them rave reviews. My mom and I stopped for some lunch on a recent Saturday and happened to see Cake Couture. Being a baker myself I love to support my fellow "cakers". We walked inside and were warmly greeted by who I think was the owner. She described the different cupcake flavors and we decided to order a lemon one and a toffee crunch one. They were delicious, moist and had the most amazing creamy buttercream. The shop itself was clean and had the cutest decor. I love cake. A lot. With that being said - I was really excited to try this place since it is close by my house. I give this place 5 stars for ambience, friendly staff, and overall display, but only like 3.5 stars for actual cupcake taste and quality. I was greeted by the owner almost immediately upon entering, it was a quiet rainy Saturday afternoon so I imagine pretty slow for her. She was very friendly and gave me the rundown on all the cupcake flavors available that day. I chose what she said was through signature cupcake, Strawberries and Cream - strawberry cake with buttercream frosting that had a hint of cream cheese. I also selected the vanilla with vanilla frosting. I got them both to go. The cupcakes were very reasonably priced at $2.75 each and they were beautifully decorated. Unfortunately, when I got home a short time later and tried a bit of each, the cakes were both kind of dry. The taste was great, but not as moist or dense as I prefer. The icing didn't to me taste like full on buttercream (to me this means butter and powdered sugar and a bit of milk or cream). It was sweet and had the perfect texture but it was almost too sweet and reminded me of store bought cake icing. I think I'll definitely be back, to try something else. Ok so I've waited on writing this review because I didn't want to be mean or negative....but I'm still kind of upset with this place and their cakes. I was excited about this place because it's a Black Owned Business and I was told that they could do the drip cake that I wanted for my 30th birthday. I went to the location....which is pretty cute btw....and met with a cake designer. My first issue was that the prices on the website are apparently wrong. For a 6 inch cake, it's actually $65 instead of $45. I told sis that the website was wrong and to this day...3 months later, the prices on the website are still wrong. We sampled some cupcakes (banana pudding was good flavor but kinda dry and the strawberries and cream was dry with no flavor) and just chalked it up to them being left out in the display case all day. Showed them a picture of the cake I wanted and they were all excited promising that they could do the cake how I wanted it. Went to pick up the cake....didn't recognize it as my cake because it looked completely different than the picture. It was cute, but definitely not what I wanted nor expected. The cake was frozen solid so we had to let it sit out for a few hours before we could eat it. The flavor (strawberry lemonade) was actually pretty good which is why I'm giving two stars (for the flavor and friendliness of employees) but the cake was def overpriced and not what was promised. They overpromise and underdeliver FOR SURE! Would not frequent this place nor recommend if you're looking for a cake or cupcake for a special occasion. I ordered a cake for my birthday after tasting one of the strawberry cupcakes I was sold on having a strawberry birthday cake. I explained the way I wanted the cake designed and their was a cross up but when I saw the cake is was ok with. Once the cake was cut we discovered that their was more strawberries on the top of the cake and the bottom hardly had any. I called a few days after the event to inform them of the issue. The person I talked to ( Bre')was very apologetic we settled on compensation of cupcakes at a later date. I was told when I got ready for them to just call I agreed. I called about a month later I left a couple of messages and no return call. I can't say I expected that I'm usually a better judge of character after all your word is your bond. read more

I used to live across the street and would always see the sign. Today I decided to stop by to get cupcakes for a classmate. The decor is so nice and clean inside the shop. I ordered 6 individual cupcakes and found out my friend was allergic or didn't like peanut butter. So I called to see if I could bring it in to exchange it, Brie said of course. But before I could get my wheelchair back out of the car and hop in it, she brought another box out to me with the exchanged cupcake and took the other box with the peanut butter one in it. Cake Couture did the cake for my son's wedding and I could not have been more pleased. I needed a gluten free cake, and if anybody has experience with that, you know how difficult that is. I worked with Brie and she provided cupcakes for my bridal shower and the cake for my wedding. Everyone loved the cupcakes. But the show stopper was my wedding cake. It was 6 tiers, had 4 different flavors, and was absolutely stunning. She really listened to what I wanted and put everything together to make an amazing creation. The reason I loved working with her is because she didn't just do the traditional vanilla cake. She has so many flavors! She let us sample about 8 different flavors and we selected which ones we liked. The show stopping flavor is her peach cobbler cake!!!! It was delicious. I hadn't even heard of peach cobbler cake before, but I'm glad I have now. She is also moderately priced. She made a cake for 100 guests and we paid about $550 for the cake. I will definitely be using Cake Couture again in the future! read more

Not only was my cupcake beautiful but it was the BEST cupcake I have ever tasted. The bakery is lovely and the Gentleman (terribly sorry I forgot his name!) who was working was polite and helpful. They had very reasonable prices and trust me you get more than your moneys worth on the presentation alone. But the best part of any cupcake is the flavor and this bakery has ruined all other cupcakes for me; it was that good. I seriously don't know how they weren't sold out! read more
