GO EARLY or be prepared to wait for whatever they are making next. These donuts are the best in this area. We ordered a half dozen and selected four apple fritters, a blueberry and an old fashioned. This spot is a must visit for donut lovers in the area.

Bakers dozen has 13 but one strawberry has been taken by my baby. Check that bear claw and apple fritter.

If they don't have filled doughnuts on display that you want, just ask and they might have some unfilled in the back if they haven't time to fill them. I got a couple of lemon ones. However, if you really want a bear claw or a fritters and they are sold out by 10am on Sundays, go on Monday-Wednesday. I hear they aren't that busy then. I went around 10 am and the line was long but no one was in a bad mood. In fact, everyone was courteous with each other and the owners behind the display worked hard, fast, smile, and they communicated really well with each other. Really like this place.

Baker's Dozen is one of my favorite donut spots in North Carolina. The idea here is very simple: good fresh donuts for cheap. For people who love a good deal, this is a dream situation. The donuts are all made fresh and often come out still warm. The range of flavors is huge, they have everything from the most basic glazed, to fancier donuts that have multiple flavors. For each donut, they also often have multiple variations (powdered, glazed, different fillings, etc...). I cannot emphasize enough how much I like this place, if you even think about getting donuts in the morning you should come here.

Best donut spot in Apex! Love their apple fritters (unfortunately sold out today) and donut holes. Today we had donut holes, chocolate frosted, Bavarian cream, maple bacon and cinnamon buns. The cinnamon buns were not quite as good as usual, but everything else was perfect.

I'll start by saying I am not a huge donut person, but these I will make an exception for. I had been there once at their other location and was so happy they moved closer! They are extremely fresh and just delicious. Get there early because they do form lines and will sell out!

Sick of cake donuts (ie Duck Donuts). If you're a raised/yeast donut lover, Baker's Dozen is absolutely worth waking up early for. This place is a hidden gem is near Beaver Creek, and the donuts speak for themselves--fresh, fluffy, and full of flavor. That said, I prefer the Raleigh location but it's further. This location is new. I chose my usuals (raised glazed, raised chocolate iced, buttercream filled and the apple fritter). Everything was outstanding. As in Raleigh, the apple fritter was hands-down one of the best I've ever had--crispy edges, soft inside, and just the right amount of glaze. The glazed yeast donuts basically melt in your mouth. The staff were super friendly and patient and you can feel this will take on a small-town charm like the Raleigh location. Heads up: they sell out fast, especially on weekends. We got there around 8:15 AM on a Saturday, and a lot of the top picks were already going fast. Definitely go early! Highly recommend for anyone in the Apex or Holly Springs area. Worth the drive, worth the wait, and absolutely worth the calories.

Don't waste your calories on the leaden stale donuts of sadness from those other donut franchises. Support a local family run business instead! These ARE the best donuts on this side of town (& possibly in the triangle)! Baker's Dozen is finally open in Apex at the old Bonafide location. It's fairly hidden from the road but you won't be disappointed! Parking may be at a premium and there's no seating but grab a box or two to go! The interior is pretty no-frills since the donuts are the star! Service was quick and efficient. The donuts are all light, airy puffs of deliciousness & not overly sweet! The glazed donuts just literally melt in your mouth...giving you an excuse to eat more! Long jon was generously filled with Bavarian cream. I have a love-hate with maple bacon but this was light, fluffy, not too sweet & full of real bacony flavor! Glazed old fashioned cake donut was also light & tender! I'm already planning for another trip...hoping to snag an apple fritter this time!

Maple bacon and the most amazing apple fritters!

So excited to have Bakers Dozen open in Apex!!! They are such a step above any others in the area. Classic donuts, super fresh, at reasonable prices. Last week got an apple fritter and it was still warm OMG delicious. Their fritters are to die for with caramelized crispy edges and gooey deliciousness in the center. They have also added a maple bacon with really good flavorful chopped bacon. This place is popular, so get there early on the weekend for full selection. Got there 8:20 am on Sunday, case was about half full with line almost out the door. Line always moves fast and so worth it!

    Absolutely amazing.

Their donuts are much healthier than Dunkin' Donuts but must be consumed in moderation of course. Best donuts in the United States :).

I popped in on a Saturday around 12 noon, and although there was a bit of a wait (not surprising given the weekend crowd), the smell of warm cinnamon sugar in the air made it feel like a treat worth waiting for. I ordered a vanilla with sprinkles, a classic glazed, and 10 cinnamon sugar donut holes. For me, the cinnamon sugar flavor was the clear winner. Little bites of joy, I tell ya!!! The vanilla and glazed were fine, but in hindsight, I wish I'd been a little more adventurous. Duck Donuts has a fun variety of unique flavors like maple bacon, blueberry pancake, or peanut butter drizzle. That creativity is what really makes the place stand out. My son, who is firmly Team Dunkin' and not at all a Krispy Kreme fan didn't love Duck Donuts--he's just not a fan of soft, warm donuts. As someone who usually prefers a good Krispy Kreme, I have to say this was a very different donut experience--more homemade flavor and less sweetness. The vibe was relaxed. A few families were dining inside, a couple folks were enjoying the patio, and the pickup counter stayed busy. It's not the kind of place I'd visit weekly (I'm not a donut junkie), but I'd absolutely come back to surprise a donut-loving friend.

Their online presence is a little lacking; the website shows a list of donut flavors but not all are listed. From the 6 flavors they had today, only two of them are on the website. They also only list 8 drinks on the menu but there are a lot more to choose from so don't be scared if the website is your reference point. When walking in, there are 3 screens: donut flavors, Korean corn dogs, and teas. I was under the impression that the drinks on the screen was all they had but you have to go to the kiosk tablet thing to see the full menu. Let's dive into the food. I love the shape of a mochi donut. It's perfect for sharing or ripping off a bite sized ball without having to take messy bites. The dough itself was nice. I think it's comparable to a Krispy kreme but chewier (not in a bad way though). I like that their flavors change weekly. My favorite was the red velvet. It had a thick glaze and was subtly chocolatey. The cinnamon roll was also nice with the cream cheese drizzle. I'm not a connoisseur of Korean corn dogs but these seemed to be good as any. They give you lots of options for dipping sauces too. No complaints here! Lastly, and perhaps the underdog, was the tea. Even if it was nasty, the packaging would have me buying it again. They seal it with a can lid so you open it like a soda. Very fun experience and something I've never seen another boba shop do. As for the actual tea, I was enticed by the mermaid. There was no description and the girl said a few things but didn't seem too sure. I got it anyway because it was pretty. It ended up tasting really good! I got it lightly sweetened and it was pretty lychee forward. I know they also add blue curaçao syrup into it. I would highly recommend it! Overall, I would recommend this place. I wasn't blown away by the food but I'm also not a huge donut person. The boba is worth trying tho!
