I feel like these are put in a microwave. Store was clean and not too busy I was waited on promptly and didn't wait too long for my order. The donuts are reasonably priced ($1.65), however, some of the toppings (sprinkles and Oreos) are sparse. They were ready about 6 minutes after ordering them online. I can't believe it took me this long to go to Duck Donuts. I happened to be near the post office on Wrenn and they were just calling my name. Since I have never been to Duck Donuts, the gentleman at the counter was very kind in explaining the options. A half dozen donuts were about $9 and you get a number and wait after you pay. We only waited a minute or two and were handed a hot box of fresh donuts. Social distancing is in place and everyone was wearing masks. When I had the donut at home, the soft, warm, melt-in-your mouth flavor was still fresh and the 6 donuts did not last long. I splurged after a long training run and it was such a nice treat. I love that they have featured donuts because I often get overwhelmed by choices on a first visit somewhere. So it was easy to pick a couple of flavors. I went with the Oreo and the strawberry icing with sprinkles and chocolate drizzle. While they were both so yummy, I liked strawberry better because it had more flavors and sprinkles just make everything better. The actual donut base reminded me of a funnel cake from the fair. Having moved here recently, the concept of only plain cake donuts is new to me. Personally, I suppose I like yeast donuts along with chocolate cake donuts. I liked the atmosphere of the place and like that they also donate to nonprofits too. It was nice that they give a few customers a place to sit & wait, as well as a raised area for children to stand to watch the donuts being made. I noticed that the glaze seems to melt somewhat within a few minutes since they put it onto warm donuts, I don't think that changed the flavor though. Also, the bacon isn't crispy (perhaps because it absorbs the moisture from the glaze). Additionally, I ordered a "mocha" (I expected it to be espresso with chocolate flavoring), however it really didn't ring true to what I expected from a cafe mocha but it wasn't a terrible tasting drink.
