I'm writing this review on my own accord and was not financially incentivized to do so. I had a Northwind representative come out to give me a quote on replacement equipment. They sent Rahul and he was a breath of fresh hair. Honest. Straightforward. Didn't try to up sale me and gave me honest feedback on how I might make the best of my current system. I went through a handful of different companies, most of which I found to be sleazy and dishonest, before I found Rahul and Northwind and they were the best experience bar none. read more

They are back again. Never a pleasant experience when the AC is out. But they were here first thing in the morning, diagnosed the problem, and had it repaired in minutes. He explained why I had the problem and it made total sense. They charged a very reasonable service fee and advised me that equipment is under warranty... who knew? I am always happy when Greg shows up. I always ask him to skip up to the house like he does in the video. I refer all of my clients to them. read more

I previously gave them a 5 star review, but that service no longer exists. We had a problem with our front heater and called Northwind because other service was good. The guy who came out took over 3 hours to "Diagnose" the problem, but because he had taken way longer than it should have, he only charged us for two hours. Got an estimate that the unit needed a new heat kit and we accepted it. NOTE: Their estimates try to be general and I do not like a general estimate when the cost is over a thousand dollars. They came out and put in the 'heat kit' and the heat worked. The only problem was it would not shut off when it reached the correct temp on the thermostat. We called Northwind and told them of the problem and they sent someone out. This guy was similar to the other in that it took him 4 hours to diagnose the problem and each time he would tell us it was a problem, we would say, "But your guys fixed that." and his story as to what the problem was would change. We were told at least 4 different reasons this was not working. He finally settled on it was a valve on the roof and he had tested it with a magnet. The other problem was the guy would stand around and talk to employees the whole time he was here. Then he called a manager up to the front to tell her he was only going to charge for 2 hours. I was there and heard it and left her to sign. The next morning I get an invoice charging us 4 hours for sending out the village idiot. I immediately called Northwind and was put through to someone named Dale with an attitude. I explained the issue and he had said well you don't have to be upset and I told him I wasn't and was speaking in a normal tone and am just telling him the issue. He apologized and made a comment that he was just saying it because of others?!? Then he told me he was going to check into it and call me back. That was on 1/25, a week ago yesterday, and he still hasn't gotten around to it. I called another A/C company and they immediately found the problem. Whoever put in the heat kit or the person coming to 'diagnose' the overheating issue had burned out an entire circuit board. The actual problem was fixed when they reset the thermostat but now we have to buy a new board to be able to have heat in the front of the building. Northwind used to be good. Undoubtedly they are scraping the bottom of the hiring barrel now due to their growth. The people they are sending out now are incompetent, lazy, and slow. Oh, but they do continuously send you reminders that you have an estimate you haven't agreed to!!! You need to sign it so they can send another village idiot out. USE ANYONE ELSE read more

My furnace went out & Northwind was my first call. I explained my problem & they were able to send someone out for an estimate. Brigitte was exceptional, she explained what she saw when she inspected our old system & then laid out our options. She didn't try to up sell us anything extra & told us exactly what we needed. She explained their warranty & assured me the system I was interested in was the best. I told her it was looking to get more estimates, but after she left & a discussion with my husband we decided to have them do the work. We were able to have the installation done the next day, and I am completely satisfied with their work. I also wanted to shout out The Michael Berry Show (am radio 740), I heard Northwind's commercial on their station. I also got a discount for mentioning his show. For any a/c or heating needs I wholeheartedly recommend Northwind!! I also feel their prices are fair as well. read more

I had them out to tune up my ac. Got their name from Michael Berry. Very glad I used them. Dan who did the work explained things very well and did not try to sell my anything I did not need. Sold components to the ac OEMs in the past so have some knowledge and everything he told me seemed to be what I learned way too many years ago. Nice having a tech out that did not try to sell me extra items an was very friendly. Use them you will be pleased read more

Incredible company with incredible people. Jose Serrano came out to one of my church members homes to fix her A/C. She's a senior living alone and was without A/C in the middle of the heat wave. Northwind dispatched a tech at 8:30 PM to help her. He fixed the problem and the price was reasonable. Northwind found out her church was paying for the repair and they went ABOVE AND BEYOND in cleaning the unit and making sure everything was right. Then, because Jose thought he had let her cat out, he was looking for the cat outside at 10pm at night. The cat is fine, she was hiding under the couch. But this company treats their customers like family. It is SO refreshing to have a company that not only cares about the work they do, they TRULY care about people. THANK YOU JOSE!! THANK YOU NORTHWIND!! read more

Absolutely the best A/C and heating company around and it's not even close. Shout out to Michael Berry for the recommendation.

I was recently gouged by a different AC company. I called Northwind to get an estimated price to compare. The front-line person who answered the phone couldn't give me a price estimate, so I asked to speak with the manager. I then spoke with Jim who was able to give me a by-the-book estimate cost which is what I was looking for. Jim was extremely friendly, and I can't thank him enough. My next AC repair call will be to Northwind! read more

We signed up for their annual check up for both spring and fall maintenance and they're reliable and helpful. Just this weekend our capacitor stopped working and they found time on Sunday to repair it. Thankfully their after hours fee was only $125 and the part wasn't exorbitantly over priced. The technician was timely and communicated well. I would strongly recommend them to my friends and family. read more

After 3 compressors in 5 years and after working with seemingly fly by night warranty companies to fix this problem, we finally took a lump check and found (interviewed) 4 companies to put in a new Condenser, the outside full unit. I saw Northwind's commercial and had them come out. WOW! Incredibly professional, ON TIME each visit, very respectful and they did an incredible job. Sure they were maybe $1K more than the others but what we received in confidence, workmanship and warranty, not to mention a Trane unit, more than covered that. Bridget the original sales person, Kevin the project manager and Manny & Mario the installers......I could not have asked for anything or anyone better or more professional! You need A/C needs, CALL NORTHWIND! read more

On Saturday, August 5th I called Northwind Air Conditioning in Houston, TX because my unit was not delivering cool air. The technician Jonathan came promptly. He told me that the capacitor was bad, he proceeded to change it and once done the unit started working properly. While I do not have a complaint about the technician knowledge in changing the capacitor my biggest complaint is the price. The technician was in my house 40 minutes. They charged me $125.00 for the first half hour or service call because it was on a Saturday. According to the invoice they also charged me $393.07 to replace the capacitor which the price is $55.00. This was outrageous! I called the company on Monday and ask to talk to a manager as I believe that there was an erroneous charge. The sales rep gave me the sob story that they pay taxes for all the parts they carry in their trucks, they have to pay for all the trucks they have, they have to pay for the technician salaries and the overall overhead charges. The manager never called me back and I imagine that it is because he knew he has overcharged me. The MORAL of the story is, find a good decent, knowledgeable independent technician to take care of your a/c unit. I will never use Northwind again! THERE PRICES ARE ABUSIVE! read more

Exceeded Expectations! Robert, Jose and their entire crew exceeded our expectations from start to finish. From our first meeting I could tell I was dealing with a high integrity team. We had a 20 year old 5 ton system in our 2 story house. The system was failing and after years of patching it together to keep it running we decided we were in need of a replacement. I obtained bids from 4 established companies and determined that Northwind had the highest value given quality of the product, professionalism, service and price. Six months after a flawless installation I couldn't be happier. We have made it through hot and cold weather without a hitch. The city inspector came out a week after installation and confirmed "these guys obviously knew what they were doing". Northwind removed the old system and replaced all ductwork replacing the old system with 2 separate systems (one upstairs and one down). Looking back I'm very happy with the product, service and care they took installing and completing our important project. Highly recommended! read more

I recently used Northwind to complete an HVAC Replacement Installation. Bridgette took care of my account, she walked me through all my different options, price points and answered all my questions. The technicians were excellent at removing my previous unit, installing the new unit and making plumbing repairs for the drain lines. I was very impressed with the professionalism and how Bridgette took care of my concerns as a customer. I highly recommend this business to anyone who needs an HVAC replacement. read more

These guys are very professional and extremely fair. Worked with Jeff when my AC stopped working and he didn't even charge me for diagnosis. Pleasure to do business with. Highly recommend. read more
