2. Mixed with Minced Pork Noodle一碗干拌面或粉 and Cold Pig Ears in Chili Sauce Cold Dish猪耳朵 and kelp silk salad 凉拌海带丝

Came in for a late lunch, and the restaurant was pretty empty. The staff seated us immediately, a very family, friendly environment. Super welcoming! We sat at the open tables and got water, ordered online using a QR code as is common in many Chinese restaurants nowadays. We ordered the Huaxi noodles, one with rice noodles and one with noodles. We also got the Taiwanese Braise Beef Noodle soup with rice noodles. We got two cold dishes and a dessert, which was the pig ears, kelp salad, and brown sugar rice cakes. The food was all very filling and satisfying. The portions are the perfect size and we ordered a side of extra rice noodles since we were extra hungry. The cold dishes are at the front and can be requested up front. The rice cakes were very tasty too! The rice noodles aren't the best quality I've had but they satisfied a craving, and especially when they are rarer to find, we were happy. Left feeling very full and recommend checking Noodology out! Lots of parking, clean restaurant, good service, and quality food.

This place is located in a plaza with many other Asian options. You have to scan the QR code to order and that wasn't very obvious, so I'm letting you know. The atmosphere is very mom and pop with many booths. Nice and clean environment. We tried their noodles the original beef one and also the sauerkraut fish noodle, They were both really good with rich intense flavor broth, definitely on the spicy side. We ordered 3 side dishes and they were all very flavorable and tasty. Will definitely come back for a quick grab for noodle.

Small noodle shop in Irvine with bold, spicy Taiwanese flavors that hit the spot. Everything we ordered had great texture and spice, and the portions were solid. Spicy Dumplings: Get Soft dumplings in chili oil that had a good kick and lots of flavor. Great way to start the meal. Dry Pork Noodles: Get Really comforting. Loved the mix of minced pork, scallions, and egg on top of springy noodles. Braised Beef Noodle Soup: Get Super flavorful and rich. Comes packed with meat, veggies, peanuts, and a broth that has heat and depth. The space inside is small but cute. Pretty casual and chill, though not ideal for big groups. Service was fast, nothing fancy. I'd definitely come back for another spicy noodle fix. Food: 8/10 Service: 6/10 Atmosphere: 7/10 Value: 6/10

We've visited Noodology several times. Overall, the food quality is still good and that's the main reason we keep coming back. However, there are a few issues that make the experience less enjoyable. There is no menu anymore--everything is through a QR code. Personally, I find this inconvenient because the characters on the phone are too small, making it hard to order. I need to ask the staff to order the food for me. The restroom was not clean and had a noticeable smell. I hope the restaurant can improve by cleaning it more regularly.

The food is REALLY good and spicy. Been here twice and it's essentially Sichuan because my mouth is numb (not all dishes, I just choose dishes that are spicy). Service is spotty... if you are seated in the back area like I was the first time, they didn't come by at all. (You order off a QR-code and then send the order online.) The second time, we sat right by the cashier so we got water refills much more and checked in on. Otherwise, small family business restaurant. Located in a small plaza with decent parking.

Perfect Taiwanese comfort food! I enjoyed EVERYTHING I ordered from here! The fresh milk tea was so refreshing! I recommend getting an extra cup of ice since they make it fresh so it's warm still. The service was very efficient and I saw that you can even order ahead and have it ready for you as soon as you come in to sit and eat. The dishes were very flavorful without being over powering. The spicy beef had a light numbing effect and the cilantro and peanuts were a great addition The tomato beef noodle soup hit the spot! Nice bounce and chew to noodles which is always satisfying. The brown sugar rice cakes were perfectly lightly crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside and soaked up the syrup well. Everything cooked perfectly Like and old auntie/uncle cooked it from home. Noodles on point Meat falls apart in mouth, fat properly rendered, seasoning is excellent. Soup has a great balance of acidity and spice, savory, without feeling too heavy. Don't miss out. Solid spot.

Noodology specializes in.. you guessed it, noodles! This spot is particularly known for having noodles from different provinces in China. Their noodle soups are rich, flavorful, and super comforting. They also have some amazing spicy dishes like their Chengdu dumplings and their newest item, spicy beef with peanut which was super addicting! The restaurant itself is pretty spacious with inside and outside seating. You order through a QR code on the table and the friendly staff brings out the food for you.

It's been a minute since my last visit but Noodology's menu selections are as yummy as I remembered. The Cold Pig Ears and Zhajiang Noodle with rice noodle (egg noodle is also an option) are still my faves. Even though there are other dining options in this plaza, the restaurant is still plenty busy during the lunch hour. There were two servers on shift, but neither was particularly friendly or attentive. That seems to be status quo at Chinese restaurants...would you agree?

Any gluten and soy free options?

They have some rice noodle dishes which are GF

I was thinking of ordering takeout but I saw a review mention that the staff do not wear masks. Have you noticed if masks are being worn while preparing and packaging our food?

The last 2 times that I have ordered takeout during COVID I saw staff wearing masks both at the register and while preparing food.

Do they offer outdoor dining?

Yes

Is Noodology open for takeout during the COVID outbreak? I've tried calling multiple days without any luck:(

I drove by yesterday and they are closed. I wish they had updated yelp website. I think they are closed until 4/15/20

Any options for vegetarians?

No. All the soups are made with beef broth and have beef or seafood. But you can try to ask the noodle soup only without the meat

What type of broth base are the soups and is there a vegetarian option?

I believe they have beef broth; maybe chicken

How long is the wait usually during lunch hours?

15 min tops but you can check in on your way in:)

Are the soups gluten free?

Menu says rice noodles, plus at least one photo shows glass noodles. Best to ask restaurant personnel.

Are there any vegetarian entrees?

Yes there are. As long as you order meat-free you're good.

Hello, Does the food at your restaurant have MSG?

There is nothing wrong with MSG, you idiots in this comments section. It is a racist myth and that's it. To the person who said they were tired afterwards, that's called food coma, you blithering buffoon

Leaving this review after an almost bad experience to help the restaurant or anyone else that may…read morehave eaten here today. 5 stars for fixing the problem immediately for us. We've been here several times before and what keeps us coming back is the quality of the food. Today, they had a new chef cook our food and it was terrible. Green beans were extremely sour (way way too much vinegar). Mapo Tofu had a ton of oil but not enough sauce, so it was just flavorless except the oil. The fried pork chop was over fried where some pieces you can't even bite through. The rice had too much water in it and was mushy. I rarely return food but this time it was so bad we had to let them know. We returned all of our dishes back to them. They let us know there was a new chef today, and they would remake all the dishes for us with the original chef. The replacement dishes were just as good as all our previous visits and it was excellent again! So thanks to the staff for fixing the problem. I'm not sure if they are training a new chef to take over, or as a backup, but they need to be careful as serving bad quality food like that would drive most people to never come back. We knew the food was good from prior experience, so we knew we could ask why the food quality changed. For first time customers, or those that may have ordered to go - if you had bad food today, it may have been a fluke due to the new chef. Service however was a amazing as usual. For all our visits including today, the staff has been kind and always looking for ways to help out and make sure we were having a good experience. So besides the food being good, I would say excellent service is also huge plus here. Don't be fooled with the automated ordering and robot delivering the food into thinking there is no service. The people behind the counter are awesome! Hope management takes care of this new chef issue quickly since their food quality is the main reason people come here. There was a night and day difference between the original food we got today, and the replacement!

Modern Chinese, Ancient Disappointment…read more EverSpring looks great, sounds great, and is priced like it plans to deliver something memorable. Unfortunately, what I'll remember most is how quickly my excitement turned into polite disappointment. The salt and pepper pork chops were...bold. And by bold I mean shockingly salty, like the chef was trying to preserve them for winter. I've had salt and pepper chops more times than I can count, and this version tasted nothing like any of them. Overcooked, oddly flavored, and just completely off. If this was a creative interpretation, creativity may have gone a step too far. Then there was the crispy beef. I say this with sincerity: it was inedible. Not "I'm picky" inedible--burned-breading-that-tastes-like-toasted-mistakes inedible. Each bite delivered a charming note of scorched regret, like someone deep-fried a crouton and called it a day. I stopped eating not because I was full, but because my taste buds filed an HR complaint. And look, if this were cheap comfort food, I'd shrug it off. But this is sit-up-straight-when-the-bill-arrives pricing. For what we paid, I expected at least one dish to make me say, "Okay, this works." That moment never came. The concept is solid, but the food just didn't deliver. I wanted to love it. My taste buds, however, requested an early exit. Everything went to the trash can. Never again.

Everything we ordered was delicious, but there are some dishes that really stood out to me. The sliced fatty beef in pickled soup was full of flavor and had the perfect amount of sourness. They had that lighter, slightly chewy texture that stands out compared to the usual. On a random weekday they had a good crowd for lunch, mostly office types from the surrounding buildings. It wasn't hard to get a table, but the food did take a bit longer than expected to come out. Pricewise you aren't looking at a bargain, but it's not unreasonable. I imagine parking might be difficult if it is more crowded as there are a limited number of spots in the parking lot and it has a funky one-way design. It's also just as amazing takeout which I always appreciate. Other go-tos are the spicy beef noodle soup- the beef in it is always so tender and I love getting the thick noodle option because of the rough texture it adds. This has long been our go-to for Taiwanese comfort food, and while the flavors weren't always 100% authentic, they hit the spot. However, our recent visits have been disappointing. The restaurant has become incredibly "penny-pinching" with their service. I was recently told there would be a $1 charge just for a sprinkle of scallions and another $1 for a small side of clear broth for my dry noodles--requests that were never an issue before. Furthermore, when we ordered extra noodles for my son's beef noodle soup, the original portion seemed intentionally smaller, defeating the purpose of paying for the add-on. Between the degraded service and the "nickel-and-diming" atmosphere, it is no longer worth the 30-minute drive. The vibe has changed, and the pleasure of dining here is gone.
