Panang Curry
Nick J.

I can only speak off my one visit that I found Noodle Wave packs robust, rich flavors in its dishes. My wife and I always test a Thai restaurant by our staples: panang curry, pad thai noodles, and tom kha soup. It was weird - the flavors of the pad thai and panang were not what we're used to. The flavors were very good, but simply not what we were expecting, like there is a plan B to putting these dishes together and we had only ever been served plan A. So it took some getting used to the tastes before we could enjoy them. The other weird thing is that while I don't think we'd ever order those two plates again, the flavors were so exotic and exciting that we definitely want to come back and soon. The menu looks very adventurous now that we know NW uses very fresh ingredients. The wait staff appears consistently relaxed and natural. I like that. Not overbearing or absent, nor fake or indifferent. Everyone seems themselves and it contributes to the calming experience I think eating Thai should be. Speaking of calm, love the design of NW. Not busy but not void of character. Just a good balance of atmosphere. I have a good feeling we'll be coming here often and enjoying a great variety of dishes.

OK so the best part about this place as we all know, is that they have halal meat. Unfortunately, I did not know that you did not get a bowl of soup in the beginning and that is only for a lunch so that was annoying. Fortunately for us, the food made up for that. The number one thing for me that I liked was that the children's meals came out really fast because if the kids are not happy-- nobody is happy. They got chicken nugget meals that come with ice cream, which is fantastic. They had Vanilla Ice cream, coconut ice cream, and green tea as well as options. Both of my kids chose vanilla and enjoyed it. I felt like the chicken was off in the noodle dishes, pad thai and pad see ew, and so I was not able to eat the actual chicken in the noodle dishes, but I did like the sesame chicken and my favorite was the Orange chicken. Their Thai tea is also quite good. Overall, I would come here again!

Yum Woonsen Shrimp and Chicken

Of all the Noodle Waves, this one is my favorite! Great service and really good food... how can you go wrong? This place is located in an unassuming strip mall, but there's plenty of parking. After you place your order, you're given a little bowl of soup. The best way to describe it is a Peanut-y Tom Kha. It's creamy, savory, a little spicy and very delicious! We went overboard for lunch and ordered enough for an army: Yum Woonsen - light and refreshing. The clear noodles perfectly absorbed the tangy lime dressing and the shrimp and chicken were cooked to perfection. Rama Peanut Chicken - this creamy sauce makes anything tastes good! Chicken was tender and perfectly spiced. Pumpkin Curry Shrimp - it's a seasonal item. It's close to yellow curry, but not as sweet. The pumpkin gives great texture to the dish. Lo Mein Kao Soy - tender beef with crispy AND soft noodles served with chili oil. Party in your mouth! Pad Thai - definitely a must when trying a Thai restaurant for the first time. This one is a little on the sweet side, but still very good. We washed it all down with a tall glass of Thai tea. Overall an amazing meal! One big plus, the food tastes great as leftovers too! I can't wait to come back and try their other dishes.

Good food; not amazing but satisfactory. Great service. Casual but neat ambiance. Price is reasonable.

I came here for a work lunch and it did not disappoint. I can't believe I hadn't been before and this is now on my top list for Thai food. The service was good and our server was attentive. The lunch entrees came with a soup and it was flavorful. I got the drunken noodles with fried tofu. The tofu was very good. I can't wait to go back and try more dishes.

Food was absolutely amazing especially the peanut udon noodles! The spring rolls were also amazing! The restaurant has a ver cute interior and the service is amazing. They do charge extra for steamed rice with your curries which is not something many Thai restaurants do, so that was a bit disappointing.

Fried icecream.

Food was good, best was the Bangkok chicken, siracha chicken was ok, not that great. Their Mongolian beef was very tasty too. You have to try the fried ice cream, really yum!

Pad See Ew

Food as pleasant as it's atmosphere! This restaurant cooks their food to optimal flavor! Their desire to know the customer's opinion of the food gives the impression that they take pride in their food and their work. I have come here multiple times and everything has been delightfully satisfying! I highly recommend the Pad See Ew! Spice level was nice (I had a 4 which was not too bad but might be very spicy for others). The only thing is the restaurant is a little small which gives the feeling of crowdedness. However the service is phenomenal and the hostess do a good job in seating us quickly! My girlfriend enjoyed her meal as well. We brought a student named Nikhil for the first time and he also enjoyed his meal. Here some of my girlfriend's thoughts: "The chicken pad Thai was great! Just the right amount of spice and flavor, and was delicious with extra hot sauce and chili pepper!"

Small salmon. Bland curry.

The food here is probably the best Thai I have ever had...both in taste and presentation. It is also very well-priced.

Do they serve alcohol?

THEY ARE NO LONGER BYOB! There is a sign on the door stating you cannot bring it in and they DO NOT SERVE IT EITHER.

Is it halal?

Yep! It's 100% halal certified!

Is it BYOB?

Yes. Although I no longer drink alcohol, I and my fellow dining companions have enjoyed our own beer, wine, and liquor on several occasions. If you are picky, you may want to bring glasses that are suited to your beverage as thiers are limited.… Read more

King's Noodle - Fried pork chop over rice

I finally made it here! My husband and I tried to eat here a while back but we arrived too late and…read moreit was so close to closing time that we ended up eating elsewhere, and since then King's Noodle has been on my radar but we had not committed to the drive from our place in Carrollton until today. After carefully studying the menu, I went with the Three Delight Dry Beef Noodle and M went with Pork Chop Noodle. We had no idea what to expect for the noodle portion of the Pork Chop Noodle but we were really excited to try the pork chop so we went with it. Other reviewers are correct that it takes a while to get the food. We patiently waited for our number as the number increased slowly. Finally, our number was called. To our pleasant surprise, the Pork Chop Noodle came with a noodle soup in addition to the fried pork chop. The noodle soup was ok. The broth was pretty simple and a tad bland (easy to doctor up), but a nice companion to the pork chop. The pork chop was my single favorite item of the meal. Really great flavor and so crispy! Lastly, my dry noodle. The beef was so tender and the tendons so melt-in-your-mouth silky. The tripe? (I think that's what the meat was on the bottom of the photo) was just ok and normally I love tripe. The overall flavor was pretty good, although I thought it was made superior by adding some chili oil and soy sauce. It was also a LOT of noodles. Omg let's talk about the noodles. The noodles that were in my dry beef noodle were so good. Think and chewy in the best way. Keep in mind that the noodle soup that came in the pork chop noodle was a different, thinner kind. I have to come back and try the beef stew noodle soup because I think that comes with this same thicker noodle. Ambiance was ok and sometimes it was tricky to navigate around all the tables, but unlike what another reviewer said, the chili oil was available in a little condiment station. I did have to ask specifically for the pickles, however. Overall, a positive experience and I can't wait to go back!

Food was good, but the service was extremely poor. I asked…read morefor iced tea and was told they had it. After waiting, I was handed a milky drink and told I had ordered "milk iced tea," which I absolutely did not. When I pointed out the mistake, the employee argued with me and refused to exchange or refund it. This is basic customer service -- acknowledge the mistake and fix it. Instead, I was told to take the drink I didn't order. The food itself was good, but the service was bad enough that I won't be returning. A business loses customers fast when staff can't communicate or handle simple issues respectfully.

My order came out quickly. Service gets 5 STARS Food...So I shared the Ciabatta Cheesesteak Sandwich with my mom. It was actually tasty and flavorful. The bread was soft and the steak was tender. We were happy with the results. It was our first time eating this. It tasted better than it looked. 4 STARS Next up we shared the Bacon Bravo Turkey Sandwich. This use to be my favorite. It was truly disappointing. The bacon was nonexistent, the sandwich was dry it needed more than a drizzle. We didn't care for it at all. The presentation was great, but this sandwich was lacking. 2.5 STARS The lemonade use to be so good. It tasted like water with a splash of lemonade. 2.5 STARS The chips were good and provided a nice crunch. So overall the food and drink were decent. I wish we would have only picked the Ciabatta Cheesesteak Sandwich. Overall 3 STARS Ambiance was ok they desperately need someone to monitor the dining room. This person could and should make sure tables are clean. The floor/carpet was dirty from people dropping food. Napkins that were dirty were on the floor. It wasn't the best. 2.5 STARS I left with mixed emotions as the customer service and steak sandwich were great. However, the ambiance of the dining area was lacking. I'm still a fan, but I think Panera is slightly going down. Ingredients are shrinking and costs are pricey for the quality.
