I finally made it here! My husband and I tried to eat here a while back but we arrived too late and it was so close to closing time that we ended up eating elsewhere, and since then King's Noodle has been on my radar but we had not committed to the drive from our place in Carrollton until today. After carefully studying the menu, I went with the Three Delight Dry Beef Noodle and M went with Pork Chop Noodle. We had no idea what to expect for the noodle portion of the Pork Chop Noodle but we were really excited to try the pork chop so we went with it. Other reviewers are correct that it takes a while to get the food. We patiently waited for our number as the number increased slowly. Finally, our number was called. To our pleasant surprise, the Pork Chop Noodle came with a noodle soup in addition to the fried pork chop. The noodle soup was ok. The broth was pretty simple and a tad bland (easy to doctor up), but a nice companion to the pork chop. The pork chop was my single favorite item of the meal. Really great flavor and so crispy! Lastly, my dry noodle. The beef was so tender and the tendons so melt-in-your-mouth silky. The tripe? (I think that's what the meat was on the bottom of the photo) was just ok and normally I love tripe. The overall flavor was pretty good, although I thought it was made superior by adding some chili oil and soy sauce. It was also a LOT of noodles. Omg let's talk about the noodles. The noodles that were in my dry beef noodle were so good. Think and chewy in the best way. Keep in mind that the noodle soup that came in the pork chop noodle was a different, thinner kind. I have to come back and try the beef stew noodle soup because I think that comes with this same thicker noodle. Ambiance was ok and sometimes it was tricky to navigate around all the tables, but unlike what another reviewer said, the chili oil was available in a little condiment station. Food was good, but the service was extremely poor. I asked for iced tea and was told they had it. After waiting, I was handed a milky drink and told I had ordered "milk iced tea," which I absolutely did not. When I pointed out the mistake, the employee argued with me and refused to exchange or refund it. This is basic customer service -- acknowledge the mistake and fix it. Instead, I was told to take the drink I didn't order. The food itself was good, but the service was bad enough that I won't be returning. A small family-owned business located in a little plaza in Richardson. There is street parking in the front of the restaurant, as well as a shared parking lot in the back. There are several tables inside the restaurant. Mostly small tables, but you can easily push them together if you have a larger group and want to be seated closer together. Once you get inside, you go to the front to place your order and pay, before taking a seat. When your order is ready, they will call for your order number. For our order, they called the number and also brought out the second dish we ordered a little later. We ordered the Beef Noodle Soup, Tofu and Seaweed Noodle, and Chicken Thigh Rice Plate (not sure what it was called, but it was served on a simmering hot plate). I enjoyed the warm broth from the Beef Noodle Soup. The noodles were soft and chewy. The beef was tender, didn't require a lot of chewing to break it apart. The Tofu and Seaweed Noodle was a cold side dish that complimented the hot entrees we had. It isn't really a noodle dish, it's just tofu and seaweed sliced up to look like noodles. We did have a large party and they did not let us rearrange any tables which I thought was a little bit strange, but we were ultimately able to crowd about 10 of us around their one round table at the restaurant. I would not recommend this place for large groups. The beef noodle soup was very flavorful, and the noodles were the perfect amount of chew. The beef was tender, and portions were generous l. Honestly my family has been going here since I was a kid but recently they have definitely upped their game. Plating has gotten better and the place has gotten more organised. Here it's a pay at the front and wait for your food sort of deal so you don't get too much interaction with the workers. However this is a family owned place and the owners are super sweet. They remember us as regulars and always say hi. Food has always been top notch! One of my all time favorite taiwanese spots in the area. You can't really go wrong with anything on their menu but my go to is the fried beef noddles. We always get one or two of these Togo and meal prep for work lunches . Was a long time customer ever since this place first opened and used to come here regularly with my family, but I can't recommend this restaurant anymore. I visited today on a Saturday at lunch time and the restaurant was full. The staff was clearly overwhelmed to the point where they abruptly rejected orders for 2/3 of their menu, including rice dishes and lo mein; they only accepted orders for noodle soup. The person taking orders was also very rude. This is a family run restaurant, but clearly, they need to hire some staff to help out in the kitchen as it took 35 minutes before we received our food even with the vastly reduced menu. To me, this was the last straw as the food quality had already deteriorated after one of the original cooks left. The ingredients in the food had also been cost reduced (e.g. replacing bok choy with cabbage). I will not be returning to this restaurant again. read more

Came in on a sunday afternoon for lunch with friends and ordered the beef noodle soup with shrimp wontons. I am used to picking the level of spice and the beef noodle soup being a bit more salty but this place was a bit different. The soup itself wasn't too flavorful and no spice at all. Instead they have soysauce and chili oil on the side for you to add it yourself. The meat was soft and shrimp wontons were about average to good. It was really an average dish overall. Not my favorite but I would eat it again if I was near and circumstance led me here. They were very quick and concise with the orders and nothing was lacking. Majority of the stuff is self serve here and pretty simple. The one item here that made me like this place is the shrimp wonton noodle soup! I've tried the beef noodle soup and the vegetarian noodles, and they're alright. Not something I would want to go back and eat. Beef noodle is nothing special cause it's just few pieces of beef and then a plain broth. It's basically a mom and pop noodle restaurant. The place is neat and clean, better than many other Chinese restaurants. I also checked out the restroom (the men's side of course). The level of cleanness is way above average. While I was there, most patrons were Asians, which means the noodles are really good. I ordered a beef noodle soup with my favorite tendon and stripe (S2). I thought I was ordering a soup noodle. But when it was delivered on the table, I noticed there wasn't much liquid in the bowl. I asked the waitress walking by, and she told me it was dry noodles. Luckily, it came with a small bowl of dark beef broth. I poured it all in the noodles to make my own noodle soup. Proud of my own creativity, and it tasted just as good or better than any noodle soup I had. Onto the food now. The noodles were really good, moist, and chewy. They are as thick as udon noodles. These are freshly made noodles, not dry noodles. That makes a huge difference. Fresh noodles readily take in the flavor of the broth and everything else, and they taste so much better. The beef was equally good - savory, chunky, but tender. One thing I would like it to be better is the tendon. I love tendons of all kinds. But I like them chunky. But what I got was just tiny, skinny slices. But I have to say they tasted great. The same applies to the thin stripes. The broth (or sauce), although not much, was one of the best I ever had. I always order the beef dry noodle (menu item #1) because it has more of a garlic flavor than the traditional beef noodle soup (#2). And you get a side of the soup with your order of dry noodles, plus a sauce plate of 酸菜/榨菜 (pickled chinese cabbage/pickled mustard). It comes with a piece of radish, cilantro, tender beef and of course the delicious noodles. The food is made fresh, they only start to cook the noodles once they put the order in, which is why it takes a bit of a wait. But it's so worth it. The taste is clean and flavorful. This restaurant is also very much self-service. You get your own water, utensils, napkins. This resembles the asian restaurant mentality - do it yourself. So don't listen to the negative reviews!!
