This place is getting better food wise, we went Friday night and everything was delicious: mushroom salad, burrata appetizers, mussels and salmon entres, not just tasty but also nice presentation. Atmosphere was relaxing, modern vibe and good jazz from 6.30 to 10.30 pm. Our server was attentive and service was quick. Do try this place if you haven't already! read more

Nocturne is a special place in Denver. We went on an evening Spherio, a talented jazz trio was perfoming. It was a special occasion and our first time at Nocturne so we pre-ordered the 3 course tasting menu. We were warmly welcomed on arrival and offered two table options and decided to sit upstairs. The view and ambiance was lovely. Our server, Olive was wonderful. She made us feel special and was helpful with the orders. They offer a wine pairing and it was thoughtfully selected. We were both less enamored with the food. It could be the options were just not to our liking but both the appetizers and the fish amuse were not great. My entree (the pork with dates and ancho) was excellent and our favorite bite of the evening. Desserts were more strange than tasty. While we are critical of the food part of our meal, everything else was so lovely, that I plan to return. I would give it more of a 4.5 star unless the food steps up. Next time I might try the more casual menu at the bar. I hear they serve a delicious fried chicken... read more

A friend recommended that we do a girls night at the Nocturne, and it was such a treat! The service was top notch and everyone was so attentive. We each had two cocktails (the Seafoam Paradiso was SO good!) and the food was just delicious. I really enjoyed the grilled peach appetizer, I'll be recreating at home. Definitely won't be a frequent visit due to the price, but it was a fun night and I'd happily return in the future. read more

The food and ambiance were great! We enjoyed everything Nocturne had to offer. The confit rabbit leg was phenomenal and very tender. The waiter, Micah, was awesome! Very informative and pleasant. read more

Good but absolutely not worth $98 per person. Portions were very small and food was good but nothing very special

Nocturne was nice for a date night. The food is decent but drinks are great. I think next time we'll just sit at the bar & enjoy the live jazz sets. The neighborhood is fun so after we left we walked to a couple other places. It's a fun night out at Nocturne read more

Wonderful experience on a friday night at Nocturne! We booked bar seating and had a great time. The service was impeccable - water was always filled, they were refilling our wine (we ordered a bottle) at good timing without interrupting much of the show, the plates were removed timely since we had such a small table. The food! Was amazing!! I've always felt that live music venues food lacks quality and overpriced but not here. We ordered the short rib special which was very tasty and cooked super tender. What really stood out was their lazy bird chicken sandwich from the ala carte menu. Overall an amazing night! read more

After a long day of traveling we made it in time for our bar reservation to watch some Jazz. This was probably one of our favorite places from our entire vacation. Brandon our waiter knew we were celebrating our first anniversary and made it an unforgettable night, from getting to try different drinks, from taste testing some food, to surprising us with all of the desserts; he went above and beyond. The entire staff was super friendly. We enjoyed sharing the three course meal & some apps. The drinks were creative and tasty. We would recommend this place to anyone, especially to those who enjoy jazz and good cocktails. Thank you Brandon for a great night & for recommendations for afterwards. We will be back! read more

Just took my husband here for a nice birthday dinner and entertainment and he really liked it. He's a fan of art deco and this establishment is fairly art deco. I made reservations for the bar seating and they were great seats! The ambiance was very cool and very different since I've never been to a jazz bar/restaurant. The jazz group was amazing and I felt like I was back in time.. I felt classy AF. We ordered a small plate and a large plate which was plenty for us. The bison meatballs with chimichurri was really good! Had lots of great flavor. Then we had the sliders and the spotlight of that dish was actually the fries lol. They are very different than your standard fries- they were like smashed finger potatoes with some sort of Cajun (?) seasoning. And because it was my husband's birthday, they brought out a complimentary birthday dessert which was very sweet of them. Overall a great place for a l low key Friday or Saturday night. Very cool place. read more

This place is the real deal. The jazz on the evening we visited was nothing short of transcendent. The food is SO good. We had the Brussel Sprouts salad and the short rib main. The salad was crisp and has just the right amount of tangy. We were given a knife for the short rib, but it was not needed. The meat was fork tender and the potato side dish was the perfect accompaniment. I had the poached pear dessert, and I was truly sad I was unable to finish it. We had such a lovely evening g. read more

5 stars does not do this place justice. My husband and I came here to celebrate my birthday together and the entire experience was immaculate. From booking, to seating, the jazz, the service. I seriously cannot give this place enough praises. Never have I ever felt just a high leaving at his establishment. I highly recommend doing reservations to reserve your spot but they do have some limited walk in available. read more

Super cool jazz club. Being from New Orleans, my bar was high for this experience. The food was EXCELLENT. Ordered the duck confit and it might've been the best Ive ever had. That said, taking away one star for the music. It was just ... OK. If music is what you're really looking for, not sure it's the place. But overall great vibes, food, and drinks. Lovely art nouveau jazz supper club supporting local artists situated in the art district. What's not to love? Beautiful decor, impeccable service! I ordered the ribeye and seared watermelon. The seared watermelon was so different and refreshing from anything I ever tasted. The steak was only ok. Upon hearing that comment the waiter offered to change out my plate although I didn't ask to. What a generous and excellent gesture of customer service. Of course a generous tip followed. I swapped for the scallop which was highly recommended and it was delicious! I also had a local beer, Black Shirt Brewing IPA, with its brewery located just around the corner. Definitely try their homemade sherry rum ice cream. Yum. I came on a Tuesday and it was soothing, relaxing and not too crowded. I highly recommend as it will not disappoint! read more

I attended Nocturne for my birthday and had a blast. Denver's supper club options are minimal and Nocturne definitely takes the prize. The music was great, the food was delicious and the staff was very professional. The only reason why I am rating 4/5 stars is because the dinner option is pricey and not something I would be comfortable spending on a regular occasion to attend a supper club. But I definitely recommend checking it out and having dinner at least once read more

We came in for a drink and stayed for the live show. Upscale bar with live jazz starting at 6:30pm for $17. Pros: great staff who are well educated on mixology and very friendly. Great appetizers that pair well with cocktails. Cons: small space making it quite loud inside. If you're solely listening to the music it's great. However, it is tough to talk to each other while music is playing. Great place for an intimate dinner with friends or date night read more

If I could give Nocturne 10 stars I would! And not just because there were wine/cocktail pairings with dinner. Trying to find the perfect Christmas present can be challenging. Last year I did it, and we're finally here. Shad was so friendly and accommodating, even swapping out my peach old fashion for a very special lemon drop martini because I'm not a whiskey girl. He had tuna tartare, pork loin chop, and some kind of espresso ice cream thingy. Have to say, mine was even better, though the pork chop was impressive! I had a grilled Colorado peach with prosciutto, diver scallops that were so tender and served on top of an eggplant purée with basil oil, and croissant bread pudding. I'm just saying, mine was better. By the way, the music is what this is really all about, and the jazz was phenomenal!! Great date night!! read more

We had the most exceptional evening at Nocturne for my husband's birthday! It wasn't just any birthday...it was a birthday doctor's didn't think he'd get to see as a cancer survivor! And I can't begin to tell you how much everyone went out of their way to make us feel special! We had the best seat in the house! Danielle and Brandyn were exceptional servers and completely made us feel like royalty! The biggest surprise was the FOOD! Brandyn really helped us with some great recommendations! Their menu is a Foodie's dream come true! So many thoughtful flavor profiles and combinations we could have never dreamed of! There was not one bad morsel! And we can't wait to go back again! read more

Fantastic experience, perfect ambiance in the club and reasonably priced drinks! Service was good, given the setting.

This place went above and beyond anything we could have expected. We had a subpar visit the first go around, but the second time the staff was determined to turn it around and...wow. My recommendations: make sure you make a reservation about 15 minutes before the show time - that way you can look at the menu, chat with your waiter and decide what you'd like to have. Second recommendation: go for the set menu OR order all of the food you'd like up front so your waiter/waitress can space it out accordingly to go along with the show. We had a few menu cocktails and a bartenders choice and DAMN was that tasty. The staff was extremely attentive, the food was OUT of this world delicious, the drinks were perfect. 11/10 will be going back. Great fancy date night / special occasion spot. read more

Nocturne is the epitome of modern elegance, style and culinary adventure with just the right amount of edge! This jazz supper club is the ultimate destination for both romantic and casual dining! DECOR: the renovated warehouse exudes character with raised ceilings and industrial glass windows. It's equal mix of modern and industrial. Loved the various seating arrangements to cater to all patrons. We walked up the stairs and sat down at the table with an aerial view of the entire space, which was undoubtedly the best spot in the restaurant in my opinion. FOOD: they use seasonal ingredients harvested from their own farm! I got the black garlic linguini, which was superb! The noodles were hand made and infused with black garlic. Loved all the fresh vegetables and the perfectly poached egg! My fiancé had the Muffulleta sandwich paired with smashed potatoes and mustard. The flavors were so incredible! The smoked meats and gooey cheese just melt in your mouth! The pickled onion and pickles were a nice addition to the heavy dish. They have a good selection of local microbrews. We had the Black Shirt IPA, which was excellent! The only suggestion I had was maybe serve some type of bread/snack while waiting for the food to arrive since it did take quite a while, even on a less busy night. SERVICE: our waitress, Tiffany, was so attentive and professional throughout the entire evening from reciting the evening specials to recommendations. This jazz club is such a fun place to enjoy live music with your dinner! They seemed to perfect every detail from food, drinks and music! The owner, Scott, came to our table at the end to inquire about our meal---loved the personal attention! Rest assured, we will be back to check out their music lineup soon! read more

Loved so many things about nocturne. Obviously the live jazz was great. Every table has a clear view of the performers and the resident artist Matt Smiley was amazing. The food was incredible. Smashed frites very satisfying and the chocolate terrine was one of the best things I've eaten. On top of all that, service was exceptional. Always had someone close by to get a drink or clear plates. Everyone needs to make a trip here. Best jazz club in Denver read more

I would love to give more stars, my review is based of value. The ambiance is great. Bar is well equipped a d staff is attentive. It falls short with the band and food. Food was warm not hot and flavorless. Even the dessert felt old and dry. The band seemed inexperienced and had no direction. For the price, it just felt .. lackluster. We love nocturne and enjoy coming here for a special occasion night out. I can't speak for the food, but each time I have been, the service is fantastic. The bar is beautiful and reminds me of the great gatsby era, but the rest of the club has an industrial feel. It is a very classy place so put on your best attire and go enjoy a nice night out with some great jazz! read more

Excellent, Excellent, Excellent .... excellent jazz, excellent food presentation and taste, and excellent service! First visit, tonight, and a very impressive one it was. The Annie Booth Sextet performed all original pieces from their latest album ... with sophisticated writing and arranging unlike what one typically witnesses when musicians announce that they are about to perform another one of their member's heartfelt "original compositions". These artists were a tight group of consummate professionals with a rhythm section that clearly enjoyed reading one another as a "unit" at the core of each presentation. Each piece was a deftly performed chart of the jazz idiom with an elegant melodic structure and cadence, yet offering thoughtfully improvised solos (not of the self-indulgent 64 bar nature heard from less polished groups). Hooray! Well done! As for the venue, Nocturne has nailed it with the intimate layout of its design through the subtle complimentary weaving of flavors within each of its culinary offerings to the execution of its service. My standards for all of these things are high making these words all the more valuable. read more

Great intimate venue for a date night. The staff is on top of their game, and the cocktails are phenomenal. They may be a tad pricier than other Denver venues but they're basically doubles and all alcohol, yaaaassssss. It's a small enough venue to really enjoy the music and connect with the band. The mood lighting adds to the sexy vibe. Their food menu is creative and mouthwatering with a few vegan options but I think eating here would actually take away from enjoying the music and ambiance. Also, a nice excuse to up your fashion game and get a little dressed up, since Denver is so über casual. read more

I travel to Denver frequently and enjoy trying something different each time I go. The last time I was there, I had wanted to see a jazz performance, but without a reservation, I couldn't find anything. So this time I made reservations in advance so I could enjoy a special night out with a friend. The music was fantastic, and the service was excellent. Our server was very attentive and described for us each dish that we ordered, along with the wines we had with each course. The ambiance is classy but not stuffy and has a friendly feel to it. I will definitely want to visit Nocturne again when I'm in Denver for a future trip. read more

Noctrune provides a great experience in terms of music but thefoods was standard. We went here on a Saturday around 9pm and the place was packed! The place is small and cozy so you will have great seats to listen and enjoy the jazz just make sure to reserve before hand. We started with the calamari two ways and the fries. Both were just ok but the calamari was a bit better. They both felt that they were heated and served rather than made to order. As for the main dishes we went with the lamb shank and the pot-Au-fue (braised beef short ribs). The beef short ribs were the better choice, more rich in flavor and the potatoes that came with it complemented very well. The white rice that came with the lamb shank was just mundane. Finally we finished off with a warm cookie and vanilla ice cream which were standard. Great jazz experience while the food was just ok, here are my ratings: Calamari: 7.5/10 Fries: 7/10 Pot-Au-fue: 8.5/10 Lamb shank: 7.5/10 Warm cookie and vanilla ice cream: 7/10 read more

First time here, love it! I'll definitely be back. Parking: We came around 6:30 today (Sat), it was not hard to find free street parking. Food: I ordered mussels and the hazelnut financier. They're soooooo good! I could taste the garlic, a sweet hint from the yucca roots and of course the mussels in the broth of the mussels dish. I just love it! And the hazelnut financier was a must if you love hazelnut. It was warm with a little crumbs on the outer layer. It was perfect. The financier was also surrounded by the blueberry compote and the blueberry cheesecake gelatos... Oh... I was in heaven... Drink: I had Penicillin. Well if you like a bit smoky and a little citricy, it'd be in your alley. It was in my alley. Ambience: Great performers, great music, great ambiance and great audience. On a side note, there is cover charge, which will be added to the bill. The cover charge varies. You may find out how much it is today by going to their website. Highly recommended the place. read more

So glad we chose Nocturne to celebrate our anniversary!! The live music was phenomenal, sensual sounds of jazz in a upscale and cozy acoustic setting. The tables are distanced appropriately for Covid protocol. Staff is attentive, friendly, and very accommodating. Reservations are required, and the food is equally as good as the entertainment. The cocktail menu is curated to accompany the meal choices, or al a carte. We will definitely be returning. read more

Nocturne is a phenomenal date night option for something that's both fun and classy, especially for those who love jazz music. Located just around the corner from the Denver Central Market, Nocturne seems like a different world. There's a coat check, friendly hostess, and attentive wait staff. While we came here mostly for a few hours to snuggle and enjoy good music, it was also a chance grab a bite. I chose the braised pork belly, while my husband ordered the gently smoked salmon. The pork belly was decent, but the salmon was amazing! The texture was of the melt-in-your-mouth variety, and there was a lot of flavor deep in the salmon rather than on the surface. The French Quarter style beignets were okay, though we'll probably try something else next time. And yes, there was definitely be a next time! In the future, we'll probably choose a more casual place along Larimer for dinner and come here for a nightcap. The entree portions are a bit disconnected from the already high price point, but I'm glad we tried it. Pro-tip: This place is popular! We got bar seating when I made the reservation one week in advance. Definitely book farther ahead if possible. read more

Went for our anniversary and did the chefs tasting menu. Low key wish the jazz band had a vocalist and that we didn't opt to sit by the stage. It's 2" away from your face if you sit there, don't do it. It's a small venue and you can see and hear from everywhere. The service was IMMACULATE. The food was good. Worth the price good? IDK about that but maybe we just don't get out enough. read more

Love the venue, love the acts, love the service. So why only 3 stars? The ambiguous entertainers fee that they charge. The charge isn't posted anywhere except in passing where the only specific is that a "small fee" is included on final bill. I made the reservation via Tock, and there was no mention of a fee when making the reservation. What's frustrating is that it's not always enforced, and nowadays you don't want to be an asshole and give low rated reviews while we're in COVID. I'm just asking for transparency. On my last visit, I spent $120 on 4 drinks. Breakdown - $20 grat/$50 cocktails/$50 mystery charge Cool. I'm all about supporting the performers. Just let me know how much I'm spending ahead of time. I tried to reach out to venue but have yet to hear back. Cool... read more
