    Caprese Sandwich

I still remembered this place fondly when I visited Phoenix 5 years ago. Half a decade on, it's still everything I want in a bakery-sandwich shop. Artisanal breads, fresh ingredients, a pleasing yet restrained variety of filling combinations, and salads that are more interesting than your standard house green. Their Caesar salad is worth a try with its noble spicy kick.

Excited to eat here, but reality did not meet that excitement. Wanted to eat inside but the noise was so bad you couldn't have a conversation. We chose the heat outside over the noise. A little sound absorption would have been good. The noise level must be miserable for the employees Had the turkey with cabbage on the pita bread Would suggest if you like the filling get it on a bread roll and ask for extra cabbage. The pita was lacking in taste and texture Italian sandwich was pretty tasty. Spicy than thought it would be. Good flavour The winner here was the Italian sandwich.

The store is located in a strip mall & could be missed if you're not looking for it on the east side of the road. Small place with about 10 tables inside & a few out front. I think you can park/ enter through the back as well. Upon entering, I was greeted quickly by someone, that was great. I took a minute to look at the menu [on the wall], since this was my first time in... Ordered the chef special (roast beef) & iced tea. Sandwich is really fresh & arrived quickly! What a great place.

Love this place so much. I don't get to frequent it as often as I'd like because I am in the East Valley now. But, whenever I am in the Biltmore area, I make it a point to grab lunch and a loaf there. I love their semolina bread. And their lunches are great. I really started going there more often during Covid, they adapted really well to the take out game, and once a week I would grab their baked pasta. They are consistently good at what they do. And it shows, because it still tastes so darn good every time.

We walked in to the cool little café style restaurant and was immediately greeted nicely. The menu is on the wall and was very easy to read from. All of the food looks great! I got the Italian, my wife got the Pressed Beef Sandwich, and my son got the Tuna Sandwich. We all loved our meals and they were so nice and fresh! We didn't want to do fast food before the Turning Point AmFest 2025 conference this week! Sorry for the half-eaten photos but we were in a hurry!

Came for lunch with my work team. First time for all of us and all of us purchased some bread before even ordering! I got some of their English Muffins, which we love for making pizzas! I had the tuna sandwich which is way different than any I've ever had! It is made with potato, bean, parsley, a cabernet vinegar and olive oil dressing and topped with arugula. This isn't your typical tuna with a mayo base and I found it pretty good. I am not one for having my side salad on the same plate as my food but I got an extra plate and moved the salad to its own plate. And because I love chips on my sandwich for a crunch factor, I also got a bag of Miss Vickey's plain chips. Topped off my meal with ice tea and one of their oatmeal cherry chunk cookies, which is big and chunky and so delicious. Overall a great lunch and great service!

    Italian on a Semolina Hoagie

The bread is really good - but the sandwiches could use a bit more flavor. I got the Italian sandwich and I enjoyed the semolina hoagie and the giardiniera - both were delicious I just wish it had some sort of aoli or spread. My partner got the turkey sandwich - again, the bread was good but it needed something extra to make it worth the 14.00 price tag. I think they make good bread but the actual food is lacking a bit. Staff was very friendly and welcoming.

Heard so much about how I should come here for the bread since they are known for it. Ordered he Chefs Special of a sandwich with tapenade. My colleague who ordered the same thing and previously was a Chef agreed that he sandwich and presentation as underwhelming. We did agree the bread was highlight of our lunch meal.ordered a green tea ice tea only to learn that they have no packets of sugar or sweetener. Will pass the next time a want a sandwich.

The Italian sandwich was great. So fresh and the bread was also very fresh with the semolina seed and whatnot. The staff was very informative and very nice about it. I want to come back to try their other popular items. My friend got the Al pastor torta and also mentioned it was a very good sandwich and very filling. The arugula salad was a nice touch with the greens and overall the service was great.

A maggot top right corner in my to go order

My first and last time here. There was maggot in my food. It's absolutely disturbing to take two bites out of your food from how hungry you are then next second to see a creepy crawler. I was sick to my stomach. Who knows how many others haven't even noticed and just ate their food right away

This place is a must for lunch. Today we tried the turkey sandwich and the pork belly. Both were so delicious.

    Italian Sandwich, tangy and spicy!
    Alane O.

First time here and was by myself so my review is limited to one sandwich, but what a sandwich it was! I had the Italian. Everything about it was perfect. From the perfectly portioned meat to cheese ratio, to the the tangy dressing hugged by, freshly baked rolls dusted with sesame seeds, snd topped with these hot peppers that delivered just the punch needed. I've been thinkingbabout this sandwich since I left. Definitely will be back.

One of the best sandwiches in PHX. Wish they were open on weekends. The breads are also very good.

Bread doesn't get any better. A bit pricey at over $7 a loaf, but you definitely get what you pay for.

Are you able to eat in at your location?

Yes, indoors and a few tables outside.

Do they offer the panzanella salad anymore? I follow them on Facebook and their menu doesn't seem to have it on it anymore. Thanks!

It's not on the current menu.

I went with the bang bang burger and kale salad -- a side comes with the lunch sandwiches. I was hesitant on kale but she mentioned it gets great feedback and I am glad I tried it! The kale salad has citrus and other goodies in it (sorry, I forget what!) and the kale wasn't tough at all. The dressing is lightly sweet and refreshing. Definitely recommend! The bang bang burger was delicious and filling without being overly heavy. They also had cans of local beer - Huss Blonde and Papago Orange Blossom - and a couple of speciality cocktails, along with various canned and bottled non-alcoholic drinks and fountain drinks. Its a cute shop with a patio and one side was open to the nice weather. A woman stopped to check in - I think she was the manager - who was really nice. Came here for lunch with a friend on a Saturday, had a good time! (Drinks in photo not from here)…read more I enjoyed my Cast Iron Egg dish, the shallot (or scallion) cream sauce was the secret winner, but I may want to try something new next time. My friend enjoyed the Pork Chili Verde dish. Portions are decent. We sat outside, which at noon in May is a bit warm, but we eventually moved to a shaded table and that was enjoyable. They have lots of fans and misters outside too. I also picked up a strawberry rhubarb and coconut rum cake for my parents. They loved the strawberry rhubarb, but they said the coconut rum cake was a bit strong on the rum (it tastes exactly like Malibu if you like that). Overall had a good time and would go back, staff was friendly despite it being busy.

A friend of mine suggested this spot for a mid-morning breakfast, and I hadn't been here in years…read moreso I agreed. I read that their parking lot fills up quickly but that there's a public lot across the street, so I parked there and crossed over. This cozy restaurant was fairly busy and we perused the pastry case while waiting in line, lots of tempting treats. My friend ordered the lemon ricotta pancakes which are topped with blueberries. A lot of their menu items have pork in it, but they were good about substituting. The burrito usually has schreiners chorizo, hash browns, cheddar, sunny egg and chili oil with side of salsa verde. I asked for avocado instead of the chorizo. We brought our own drinks so didn't order any. We grabbed a table on their patio since the sun wasn't over our heads yet. It's nice out there and I think they have some fans going to keep the air flowing, and there was also a natural breeze. Our food came out and they were plated beautifully. My burrito looked good, but it had too much hashbrowns and also there wasn't any chili oil, which was a bummer. Maybe they normally put it on the chorizo so they forgot to add it to my avocado. The egg was runny which I like: The salsa verde was delicious; I love cilantro and it had great flavors. I tried the pancakes and they were fairly rich but I liked the tart lemon flavor and the blueberries, one of my favorite fruits. This is a nice place to meet up (small groups) and I'm glad I visited again.
