Espresso martini is to die for here, and the deserts are out of this world

Noah's is absolutely my favorite locally made dessert dining establishment. It's a super quaint 1970s built establishment on Water Street in stonington burrough that has that cheers vibe.. You know...where everyone knows your name!! That is honestly one of the most enticing things about stopping here for a coffee and a dessert. You just never know who you'll sit down next to and strike up a conversation with. (I do recommend sitting at the bar and taking part in good old fashioned face to face conversations. Something so liberating about relating to people of all walks of life, if I do say so myself) While they offer brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner, drinks, as well as desserts, I often think of Noah's as the best desserts in the entire burrough of stonington. They hand make the Desserts right on property and are always being updated on their website. As I right this review I'm double checking the most recent options.. here is today's dessert menu list as taken directly from their website èBourbon Pecan Caramel Bread Pudding Served Warm with House Made Caramel Sauce & Whipped Cream ...Strawberry Blueberry Crisp Served Warm with a Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream ...Chocolate Mousse Topped with Whipped Cream Peach Cobbler Warmed and Served with Vanilla Ice Cream Brown Derby Warm Brownie topped with a Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Sauce and Chocolate Curls Affogato Vanilla Ice Cream & Shot of Espresso Add Grand Marnier or Fratello 6 Key Lime Pie with Graham Cracker Crust and Whipped Cream I would recommend sharing them all because you won't be able to choose just one! Cheers

Clams

We got there around 3pm on a Sunday and were able to take advantage of the happy hour menu/pricing. The clams were a great value and delicious. All the wait staff were very friendly and attentive. I got the Cobb salad and my family got the burgers and quesadillas. Everything was very delicious and generous portions. The restaurant has a nice comfortable arty vibe with photographs of the beach and other scenery and portraits everywhere on a cute street in Stonington. Really enjoyed our experience

Returning from a visit with relatives in Maine, my companion and I overnighted in Mystic, Connecticut. The next morning, after checking out of our hotel, we spent a few pleasant hours strolling about the Mystic Seaport Museum before paying a call at Noah's Restaurant in nearby Stonington. Highly recommended by a friend, we thought this would be the perfect spot to enjoy a casual light lunch before heading back to Pennsylvania. Making its debut in 1979, Noah's has become something of a Stonington institution. Located on the corner of Church and Water Streets, the restaurant is domiciled in two adjoining storefronts, one given over to a convivial horseshoe-shaped bar, the other to a pleasant dining area. Homey & Comfortable are the words that best describe the scene; and I sense this the moment we cross the threshold and behold the profusion of meetings and greetings. It's quite apparent that the lunchtime crowd here is comprised almost entirely of locals - on this particular occasion, it appeared that we were the only out of towners in the house - which is usually a good sign. Certain segments of the menu change on a daily basis. The day of our visit, for example, there were possibilities ranging from Turkey & Brie Sub to Grilled New York Strip Steak, Seafood Spaghetti, and Pan-Roasted Monkfish. Then, of course, there's also an assortment of Appetizers, Salads, House Made Noodles, Hamburgers & Sandwiches, and an interesting number of make-your-own Boro Bowls. Of particular interest to us, however, was the section of the menu celebrating Oktoberfest. Included were such substantial entrées as Sauerbraten with spaetzle & braised red cabbage and House-Made Pork Schnitzel with vegetable & mashed potatoes... both of which we deemed a tad on the heavy side for a "casual light" lunch. We settled on the choice of Wurst(s). And, interestingly enough, we both decided on the Bratwurst, which was poached in beer and served with German potato salad, juniper apple kraut, and ramekin of zippy mustard. The dish came in two portion sizes... We both ordered the diminutive version. The shared dessert - Blueberry Pie garnished with vanilla ice cream - was something of a mixed bag. I enjoyed the flavor and consistency of the pie, my companion did not. The real problem, however, was the crust, which was so hard and unyielding that it was almost impossible to cut, even with a knife. Bottom Line: My companion and I really did enjoy Noah's laid-back, casual ambiance... but we were also in agreement that the food (at least what we sampled) could have been a good deal better.

Stopped in for a drink...amazing service at the bar! Old 19th century vibe with great bourbon selection and some craft cocktails mixed in. I had the "what the Fig?" Fig Brandy, Apple brandy, chartreuse, and lemon. Very well balanced. Loved the drink, but it's seasonal so get it while you can. My uncle got the buffalo trace and coke. I would never mix coke with such a good bourbon with anything, but the flavor was actually amazing!

Absolutely love this place. Somehow the pancakes taste so much better than anything I could have at home. Such a cute vibe and stellar location.

Wow! We had the best date night sitting at the bar here. The bartender Ryan was kind and made perfectly balanced drinks. I loved that all the locals know and love him. The ambiance here is like a pub/tavern and the food is elevated American classics as well as lighter/healthier options. I had the Messy Dan Burger. It was so good we ordered a second. I wish that was a joke but it's not. Can't wait to come back!

Had a great meal here! Came around 6 pm on a Saturday evening and they didn't have a table for 3 but we were able to eat at the bar. The bartender was great and very nice and prompt. I ordered the corn for an appetizer and I loved it. The chipotle sauce was so delicious with the cheese. Then I ordered the bowl. It was great to be able to customize it. Very fresh and good sauces to tie the bowl together. The bowl was also a very good size and I was very full afterwards. The inside is very cozy. Overall a great experience!

I read some of the fantastic reviews online and thought I would give it a try. There was a sense of mystery and intrigue from the reviews and descriptions of the show. When I told my wife what we were doing, she kept asking what it was. I kept telling her that I wasn't exactly sure but the reviews were good and it was something "different." We went in with an open mind and were blown away! From the appearance outside to the greeting at the front door to the show itself, we felt like we were on a private theme park ride that just kept getting better and better. We have seen similar shows in large venue settings and enjoyed them. The experience that Mystic Dark Room offers is like no other. I liken the experience to car racing. Everyone has seen a car race on TV but until you experience a car race in person you don't appreciate how fast the cars are actually going. The experience at Mystic Dark Room makes you feel like you are in the show and you are! Every person we interacted with from the first step in the door to the first step out was polite, friendly and inviting, making you feel like you were home. The music, lights and choreography were incredible. The dancers were fantastic and the show was phenomenal. We enjoyed every aspect of the experience. It was well worth every penny spent. At the end of the show, the dancers take time to talk to every person in attendance. It's like talking to friends you have known for years and they appreciate any input you have on the show and your experience. We will definitely go back and bring some friends with us next time.

On the restaurants website they had a whole vegetarian section and I had picked what I wanted to get from that menu on their website. When we got there the menu not only didn't have a veg section, there was only one thing I could eat outside of a salad - a pesto flatbread that I didn't want. I ended up ordered the "scallop linguine" $36 without the scallops - making it a mushroom linguine, which was delish I might add. The bill comes & they charged me $32 dollars for pasta and mushrooms without any protein. My partner's steak was 34 dollars. Little bit unreasonable if you ask me. Food & drinks ended up being really yummy, I will say that, but overall I wasn't blown away by this place due to the lack of vegetarian options & expensive prices.

Beer'd Brewing Company is a craft brewery that opened in Stonington, Connecticut in November 2012…read more It was founded by husband and wife Aaron Simoncini and Precious Putnam. After enrolling in a class entitled "Beers of the World" in college, Simoncini became very interested in craft beer and soon began homebrewing. It was during this time that he gained the nickname "Beer'd". Eventually with his now-wife Putnam, Simoncini set out to open his own brewery. The couple set up shop at the Velvet Mill in Stonington. The historic building was originally home to the American Velvet Company, which operated from 1892 to 1996. Today it is a multipurpose building that is home to a thriving community of small businesses and artist studios. When Beer'd originally opened in the mill, they had just a 100-barrel system. The brewery quickly became notable for their small-batch high quality IPAs. In 2018, Beer'd opened a secondary facility at the Airport Business Park in Groton. This new 12,000-sq-ft space expanded their production capacity to 6,000 barrels. An adjoining 60-seat taproom (dubbed "Beer'd Brewing @ The Silo") opened at the Groton facility in January 2020. To differentiate the two taprooms, the original location in Stonington is now often referred to as "Beer'd Brewing @ The Mill". I first visited Beer'd in 2013 (when they were just one of a small handful of breweries in Connecticut), and I've been a huge fan of their beer ever since. They are one of my favorite Connecticut breweries and I have visited them multiple times; they were even a stop on my brewery bus tour bachelor party. I also must point out that Aaron and Precious are lovely people. I recently stopped there while I was in the area. It had been a while since my last visit and there were a few changes. In addition to the original taproom, Beer'd has set up an indoor beer garden in the center of the Velvet Mill. Patrons can enjoy some beer paired with food from one of the mill's many food vendors. Beer'd also set up a designated "Dog Den" for patrons to enjoy a beer if they have furry friends. During this visit, I enjoyed a taster flight that featured "8 Days A Week" (Pale Ale), "Stunner For the Win" (New England IPA), "An Unexpected Upgrade" (Double IPA), and "Heavy Weight-Of-Sound" (Triple IPA). They were all excellent! I plan to continue enjoying Beer'd beers for years to come!

You'd be right, there are restaurants here serving such standard cuisine, but what makes a trip to the Boro special is a trip to Milagro Cafe, serving the best Mexican food and drink in Southeastern Connecticut. Having eaten in dozens of Mexican restaurants from Texas to NYC over the years, my wife Pat and I were thrilled to find Milagro: sure, it has traditional burritos and tacos dishes, but the chef's take combining Mexican fare with an American twist is special. Last night I had braised beef enchiladas, while Pat chose roasted pork with tomatillo and cactus sauce-- both incredible. And the drinks! Milagro Cafe has a truly amazing bartender in Rebecca who, given her talents with margaritas, would be a renowned mixologist if she were in Manhattan ( although she'd never let anyone call her that.) She creates an amazing array of original margaritas, whether her classic Patron ( my go-to) or one of her seasonal creations ( Pat loved Rebecca's mixed berry margarita, a summer selection)...better than any we've ever had, anywhere.
