My son was in from out of state and asked to eat here. It was nice return as we sat outside in the village. Service was exceptional and our waitress was truly caring. Everyone enjoyed their meals and I hope to stop again when I am in town very soon

Who doesn't LOVE a good french fry, right? I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to fries, though. They can be my most favorite item on my plate...or my least (those that are coated with something, piled with something, or are not served piping hot.) The Jealous Monk gets my vote for the best fries! They are served in a cone-shaped dish, a bit squishy in a good way, pretty salty, and very warm and tasty...the way a potato is meant to be! Their burger (where I'm also a bit of a snob) doesn't disappoint either! So if you come to Mystic, make it a point to hit JM in the Old Mystick Village if you are hankering for yumminess!

This is a great place for those who enjoy a great beer selection, great atmosphere, and great food There are 32 beers on tap and they offer flights with 3 beers- 5 ounce pours. We tried 9 and we'd not disappointed! The food was excellent; fresh and delicious. And the service terrific. If you are in the area I definitely recommend giving it a try.

Great place to eat while visiting the shops. I saw online that they were able to accommodate for gluten allergies and was happy to see it was true. I got the Alps burger and the Homemade Bratwurst on gluten free buns to share with my husband. He got a Big A Pretzel and my son got a kids order of tenders. Just a heads up, the fries are not gluten-free and are made in a shared fryer. The server was great in helping me with my accommodations. The food was pretty good and the gluten-free bread was not bad.

Jealous Monk is a beer hall and garden located in the Olde Mistick Village. The interior is spacious with high ceilings and long tables. The outside patio is also spacious with plenty of seating. There are dozens of rotating draft beers, cocktails, and wine. They also have a good selection of food; from pretzels, burgers, wings, and more. I'm a fan of craft beer so I had to stop in. I love that it is kid friendly too. We ate outside on a beautiful summer evening. Our server was friendly and attentive. I had the red sangria which was good. We started off with the buffalo chicken crab rangoons which were decent. They had lobster rolls on the menu so I had to order it. I love the cold style; it's mixed with mayo on lettuce and a buttered bun. They loaded it with lobster meat. Overall, my family and I enjoyed our meals and drinks! I highly recommend!

What a fantastic Beer Hall to find in the Mystic area! Thanks to our friends from Yelp, we swung by here for dinner and glad we did. It reminded us of a smaller version of a European Beer Hall. Great food and drink with long shared tables to add to the fun. Add liter beers to the mix and you are in Prague The beer selections were great. Had 2 very nice IPA's that each hit the spot differently. Lots of options for everyone's beer taste. Food was out of this world. Pretzels as big as your head. Chicken sandwich that was moist and very tasty. Cannot add this point enough- Whatever you eat there GET THE CORNBREAD!!! It was mouth watering delicious! This place was a great find. You can swing by for just drinks, just food or my personal favorite both!

Food was delicious! Service was great and they had live music out front! We took advantage of the Oktoberfest menu and ended up being very happy with the pork knuckle and the pretzel charcuterie board. I wouldn't mind coming back to try some of the beers they had on tap of which there are many. Only minor issue is that they couldn't pop the eagles game on which means we'd go elsewhere for sports watching in the future.

The food was decent- I got the Mediterranean Chicken Wrap and the Boneless Wings with Zenga sauce, and personally it reminded me a lot of Bdubs, if the wings were more stale and refried. The wrap was quite better, the chicken was hot, and the fries it came with were delicious. And the wrap itself tasted like a savory salad. Service was quick, reseated at a bar and got served relatively quick, probably within 20-25 minutes for the entire thing. However! 40 dollars for the entire meal? A little crazy, but then again it's Mystic Village, you know? If I called the ambulance here, I'd probably get them mixed up for the receipts would share the same audacity. The ambiance was decent, acoustics allow the music to be in the background without blaring, and the lighting was dim, a little too dim for my taste. Couldn't see my own hands.

What a great German beer hall and bier garden! Food and service were great! We were lucky to score a couple of bar seats as the table wait was 45 minutes. Had the most amazing New England clam chowder and southern tier caramel pumpkin IPA. My husband had a bratwurst which he enjoyed so much. Casual spot with large indoor and outdoor areas. Nice size bar. Friendly and attentive bartenders. Of all the places we could have chosen to eat at the shops, we were thrilled we got to experience here. If you're a beer enthusiast, you'll be so happy! Tons of beers from all over New England and beyond on tap.

Was Shopping at Mystic Village and stopped by for a snack at the bar with friends. The place was super packed. We sat at the bar so that we didn't have wait. We try several beers and a few appetizers to share. I love this place.

We stopped in for lunch after shopping in Olde Mystic Village. My SO and his friend wanted brats, and this one is quite large, served on a bun with sauerkraut. Although the day was lovely, and the outdoor seating area open, our guests chose to dine inside the beer hall. We were told to sit where ever we wished and a waitress came by in quick time with menus and to take a drink order. My SO and his friend walked over to the bar to speak with the bartender about available beers. There are *so* many taps behind that bar! I am not sure of the exact number, but 'dozens' probably covers it. They each got themselves a German beer which was delivered to the table by our waitress. We were ready to order when the beers arrived so we placed the order and the waitress brought over silverware and extra napkins. We ladies chose waters, were given an option of lemon, and the water was refilled during our visit. We were left mostly alone through out our visit, but as the beer hall was not busy, and there were a few staff members near the bar, it would have been easy enough to flag someone down should we need anything, which we didn't. Our food was brought over by another staff member and our waitress checked in on us after a few minutes to be sure we were all set. She was very personable and did a good job. I opted for their Caesar salad which was fresh, had plenty of spicy dressing and lots of croutons. My friend had the Monk burger and loved it. Said it was 'messy, just the way I like it' and tasty. The gentlemen enjoyed their brats. I did try the fries and boy are those things delicious! I'd come back for the fries. Actually, I'd like to try that burger too. If we are back in the area, we'd stop in again. Definitely a beer hall with food, not a restaurant with some German beer. Seating inside is at shared tables, exactly as it is in a Munich beer hall so be prepared for that. Parking is plentiful. Restrooms are dated, but they are clean.

The second part of the CTBeer.com beer fest event was held next door from the Mystic Hilton at the Jealous Monk. This was a separate ticketed gathering which was $25. I arrived to continue working the 2nd part of the event. It started at 4:00 and scanned 50 tickets that was purchased in advance. i gave a ticket for a 1 complimentary drink along w the appetizers. Only worked for an hour which was only needed and then able to The ambiance of this well known restaurant was right on and our guests were very pleased w the food and enjoyed the table fire pits. It turned out to be a well enjoyed event.

Ordering was very easy online, even though the prices seemed a bit high. We ordered $109 worth of food...Arancini ($16), garlic bread with cheese($16), Penne al Vodka with sautéed chicken($32), and the Alfredo with chicken cutlet($38). I was expecting a lot for prices like these. The Arancini were 5 pieces the size of golf balls and the flavor was ok, not worth $16, out garlic bread with cheese ($16) was left out of our order, the penne vodka with sautéed chicken ($32) was dry and there were 5 small pieces of chicken, and the baked penne chicken Alfredo had broken sauce, full of grease and almost inedible...I threw out most of it. I expected so much more from this establishment. The parking lot was packed and parking just to get takeout was challenging, but the food and prices were amazingly disappointing. We may try their pizza to see if that is any better, but I would not recommend the pasta dishes. I can see charging g prices like that if the pasta was homemade, but even that is a stretch. 3 stars is generous
