While looking for a place to eat we came across Evie's. Looks like a sports bar with a fancy restaurant menu. Service was excellent! Debbie our server was friendly, attentive and overall a happy person. Local beers on the tap list with great prices. We both ordered the Steak Bomb Naan with French fries. Very generous portions. Our plates were full of delicious fries. The naan was loaded with shaved steak, roasted red peppers, sautéed onions and mushrooms, pepper jack cheese and chipotle aioli. Delicious! The food is excellent there. I had the cast iron cottage pie. A very generous portion is provided and it is a meal in itself. I'll also mention that our waitress Heather, who was very friendly and professional, but she was also very accommodating. I wanted the cast-iron dish which wasn't on the menu at the time I visited there because it was a brunch menu. But she was kind enough to ask and the Kitchen was able to accommodate. You could really taste/feel the tenderized effect on the meat with just a hint of dill underneath the spicy but not too spicy sauce. I had the Evie's burger with truffle fries for my main, the burger was delicious and the sesame seed bun was super fresh. Ordered the fish tacos, immediately when brought to the table they were covered in oil and accompanied by a sauce that did not complement the fish whatsoever. It was extremely heavy, fries were incredibly greasy and soggy. Fish did not seem fully cooked, and someone at the table also ordered the shrimp tacos, to which the shrimp was also very undercooked. Seemed like they took cocktail shrimp and just threw it on. Next morning I woke up with the worst food poisoning I've ever experienced, lasted a total of two days. Was excited to try Evie's when a friend had mentioned there was a new place in Westerly. The decor is cool and I just love the center bar with comfy stools. I actually heard someone else commenting on the chairs around the bar and how she loved them too. I was visiting during a peak time and it was too loud. I was struggling to hear our server and my friend that I was there with. They have a beautiful outdoor area that has a fence so it blocks the parking lot so it seems more intimate. We grabbed two seats at the bar but it seemed like they were turning tables pretty quickly for a busy evening. We had great service and our servers at the bar were friendly and attentive. I loved Mitchell! The drinks are great. The menu is small but has some good options. I ordered a garden salad with house made balsamic dressing and the beef stroganoff. The salad was fresh and I really liked the dressing. The stroganoff was good but I was expecting a different kind of flavor like more beef gravy ish. It wasn't bad it was just different than beef stroganoff that I've had. It was good just different than what I'm used to. The real hit of the night tho was the pumpkin bread dessert suggested by our server. Topped with ice cream and whipped cream which is the perfect combination. It was delicious. It is a good sized portion with smoked Gouda chunks mixed in, laying on top of mashed potatoes, carrots and smothered in gravy with micro greens on top. Perfect comfort food. Food service in ambience was very good. The restaurant was absolutely spotless and the food was terrific.

My husband and I found this gem (or what appeared to be a gem) several months ago and we really enjoyedbthe first few times we dined there. About the third or fourth visit, we discovered they offered half-priced appetizers from 3 pm to 5 pm every day of the week. Their list of appetizers was ten including meatballs with ricotta, wings (offered several ways), calamari and ckam fritters. It was a nice offering and we not only returned a time or two, we informed co-workers and neighbors. We had not dined here in a while and decided to go again at the spur of the moment. This "gem" turned out to be a "sequin," having reduced the appetizer list to nine, no wait eight because the fritters we ordered which are still on the menu were "discontinued" according to the server because she said there was no longer a button to order them in her system. So we changed the order to the pretzels which were tough and chewy. The truffle parmesan fries were okay, but the naked wings were overcooked, partially dry and of the order of "eight" pieces, one looked like something that crawled out from under the refrigerator. When mentioned to the server, she just smiled and looked away. How embarassing. She didn't even offer to check with a supervisor. Of course it wasn't her fault that we were served this creature, but she did nothing when it was pointed out. Also, we had been there twice before and ordered hamburgers. The first time was great. The second time they were overcooked and the server comped dessert. Now they only offer "smashed patties" which eliminates a nicely cooked hamburger when you prefer them medium-rare. This was our second time at Evie's. Our first visit which was not anything to write home about, was much better. To me it seems Evie's is having an identity crisis. The atmosphere inside gives off a relaxed vibe, we went when there was live music, there really wasn't a "place" for the live music to be held. And it was really hard to hold a conversation, even on the other side of the room. Maybe the music is a summer thing?? Dinner was ok.... my daughter had the noodle bowl which was good. But it none of the pickled vegetables where pickled except the jalapeños. I had the Mac & Cheese which has been better. This time there was to much breadcrumbs which made it very dry and not creamy and cheesy. My husband had the Evie Burger, which was good.
