This place is a staple on Westerly RI. I go here at least once a year. I love the outside seating by the ocean but that they also have an indoor area as well. They have an indoor bar and make good drinks. The food is more of a seafood menu but for someone that doesn't eat seafood there are some other options as well. The service was good. This place is the definition of a beach bar. It literally could not be more on the beach....the views are spectacular and of course there is sand everywhere. Shirt and shoes are definitely optional! You really can't get any more beachy than this. We were there on a beautiful summer afternoon with highs in the 80s. Fortunately we were able to get a table under the tent which provided us with shade but still allowed a nice view and a refreshing breeze. Service was friendly and fairly efficient (although the salad was a little slow in coming out). We had bang bang shrimp and some shrimp tacos, along with a really tasty watermelon and feta salad. We didn't have any alcoholic drinks but based on the menu and what I saw going by on trays, if you want a little booze by the water, you will not be disappointed. The food was tasty and I thought the prices were reasonable. The only downside was the men's bathroom. That was rough on many fronts. I haven't been that traumatized by a bathroom since seeing the Grateful Dead at RFK Stadium during the early 90s. Restroom aside, this seems like a decent place with a great vibe and I would guess that it's a favorite of the locals since everyone seemed to know one another. If you want a nice meal by the beach, this is your place. read more

Stopped in here for dinner with my favorite ladies on our long weekend and I've got to say, we were in love with this spot. We called ahead for a rezzie and were sat immediately when we arrived. We decided to split a drinks pitcher, and can confirm the summer drinks menu they have is on point. The stuffies are super flavorful and I wish I had ordered more. I decided to go with a whole lobster and 10/10 would recommend. The lobster meat was delish and perfect and I would eat this daily if I could. The Andrea will never go out of business because it's on the ocean and the drinks are good. My friend had tacos and complained about the fatty meat. I had scallops and they were not fresh and tasted salty for some reason. The service was good, the drinks were good, and the view was great. Get drinks and appetizers and you can't miss. read more

No reason, no apology, no way to contact the restaurant via phone or text, and no time to make alternative reservations elsewhere. Cane here for our bachelor party. The weekend was a total washout do to the weather but the Andrea made it fun. We sit right near a great view of the ocean and the staff was so nice and accommodating. I got the vegetable risotto which was very delicious as well as a watermelon margarita pitcher. Another fun touch was they have alcoholic gummy bears which was a nice treat. I would love to come back here again when the weather is nice to get the full vibe. read more

Andrea's is a great spot for a bite right on misquamicut beach! I had to get a lobster roll here after a full day at the beach. My lobster roll was soo good despite the price, but you're paying for the view too I suppose. I wish we could've "swapped" out the potato chips for the fries for an up-charge, but we had to get the fries as a side. Their fries are great though!! Kind and quick service. We didn't have a reservation, but waited about 10 minutes for two people on a Sunday afternoon. read more

Always great food here at the Andrea in westerly. What changes reviews from time to time is some of the wait staff they hire don't seem to care , some are young kids earning summer money. Write things down when customers tell you there order give it to the kitchen and bring it out. Often I when I'm there they forget something. Some of the waitstaff are busy chatting with other staff members and don't pay attention to their tables , I waited 30m for an extra order of bread for my mussels and she brought it when the meal was done. read more

I enjoyed my visit here. The service is friendly but not intrusive. When I needed ketchup or extra items, our waitress was responsive and kind. One needs to be flexible because a lot of things are sold out like the lobster dishes and chicken salad so if you are okay with limited options...thats something to take into account. I believe we had 30 minute wait which is reasonable but if you are hungry, it is best to arrive ahead. Our meal were simple, yet they arrived in big portions. We had pasta and linguine dishes. There's a kid menu and also tons of cocktails and beer & wine options! I liked the view since it's beautiful looking at the strong waves crashing and observing the sun setting in the far distance! I would recommend going to try this place especially if you have young kids or a baby and like a drink and a stunning view. It's definitely family friendly! First off the location is beautiful. Right on the beach. Great spot for people watching and taking in the ocean. A large event tent is set up so you can sit inside and enjoy yourself without being blasted by the wind. Our server was kind and attentive. And all our orders arrived quickly. Everyone really enjoyed their meals. The star of the show was the hot lobster roll. Perfectly toasted roll. Stuffed with tender perfectly cooked lobster. And a side of butter to drown away my sorrows. Might be the best lobster roll I've ever had. The lobster risotto was pricey and was the special of the day. But it had a ridiculous amount of lobster in it and was well worth the price tag. We went during shoulder season and I could definitely see this place being packed during the peak of the summer. for several years we have traveled from western Mass to The Andrea and have enjoyed the scenery and the food. today was a big disappointment. our favorite has always been the hot lobster roll, so we ordered them again (3 of us). the lobster was dry and we had to ask for drawn butter, and the rolls were toasted. anyone who knows how to make lobster rolls know you grill the rolls so they are soft and buttery, but not toasted which makes the roll almost unedible. so we ate the dry lobster and dipped it in butter and left the useless roll. Also, the size of drinks has decreased. what is going on? please bring your quality back to where it as always been. read more

Okay, so food, service, ambiance? Food is a solid 3.5-4. Great, no but certainly quite good. Not sure I'd return for the food alone. Service was quite nice, friendly attentive and polite as you would expect. Solid 4 stars. Now we come to ambience, 6 stars, if not more. This isn't a beachy restaurant, it's a beach restaurant, steps from the sand and surf of Westerly. The deck boasts a spectacular view of the ocean complete with tables and Adirondak chairs for pre or post dinner chilling. There's also a massive fireplace. My only complaint is that I wish it was wood burning as opposed to gas because it throws off very little heat and nights there, even during the peak of summer can get cold. Which brings me to my only tip: If you're heading there at night, bring a sweater, or a hoodie or perhaps a jacket. This is the kind of place that if didn't live three plus hours away, I would be at once a week if not more. Kudos. read more

Dined here over Labor Day weekend 2021, and the food was great! We had reservations on the patio around sunset, and it was such a relaxing vibe and the sky was so pretty. There was a fire place outside (wasn't lit, would've been nice if it was) that obstructs the sunset view, but regardless it was still great! I had the scallops with green beans and mashed potatoes and my date ordered the shrimp scampi- we each loved our dinners! We split a Mac n cheese which was just okay. Definitely needed some flavor or some shredded cheese, but it was okay. The drunken gummies were interesting, 4 bucks, why not... We ordered the s'mores for dessert, which was a nice interactive dessert that made the Andrea stand out. The ultimate mudslide was okay as well. There was a girl giving out samples of it and the sample was way better than when I ordered it. They have a free private parking lot and decent bathrooms. read more

Waitress was wonderful. The hostesses were not, they were borderline rude and so not accomodating on seating. Our menues blew off our table and they refused to seat us elswhere. The food was mediocre at best. Our chicken dish was burnt black on the bottom and they served it anyway. read more

Went to lunch with my wife and our son, his wife and two grands. Ate outside, able to se the ocean and on occasion hear the waves. Me and my wife are from San Antonio, Texas so this w a treat. Waiter was from Romania, so that was a treat. He was efficient, considerate and engaging, three of us ordered the lobster rolls. I have traveled frequently and my lobster roll was the best ever, even beating Boston (sorry). Son ordered a shrimp scampi, his favorite sea food. He said it was excellent. Clam chowders were super. Grands son ordered pasta marinara which he vacuumed quickly. I topped my meal with a chocolate toffee mousse cake..,unfortunately I had to share with others. Four stars for Andrea's standing among the few beach-side options on Atlantic Ave, still a solid and consistent choice. We feel an almost imperceptible difference in quality, both food and service. We didn't recognize any of the staff this last trip. Server was OK. Mussels were bland with a couple tasting a bit off. The specialty fried asparagus were OK but oily and batter not clinging well. Charged $14 for an Aperol Spritz made with only club soda, and no Prosecco. (Ok, maybe an odd choice at a beach bar, that's on me.) Fried fish, sandwich and platter were both excellent as always. We've been coming here for many years, and cried when we saw the hotel destroyed during Sandy. We are so grateful the family continued the restaurant operation under the tent and we will always enjoy this beautiful location whenever we're at the beach. The Andrea is for sure one of my favorite beach bars in the Misquamicut area! I love that it is right on the beach, and in the summer they always have a live music lineup both during the day, and often at night! It's not officially summer until you grab a drink and an order of drunken gummies from the Andrea. We stopped in for a late lunch on Memorial Day weekend and to our surprise we actually were able to get a table; during peak season beware they usually have a wait! It's awesome that you can walk right in from the beach, and you can either sit inside or outside, but either way you can still feel the ocean breeze. We got several rounds of drinks, gummies as well as appetizers. They have some good frozen drinks but they are a bit pricey for what you get. I like that they change their menu around a bit from year to year but you can always depend on some staples such as the fried asparagus served with a cheese sauce or the calamari. They don't skimp on their hot lobster roll served on a buttery bun, it's one of my favorite dishes here. We also tried some bang bang shrimp and shrimp tacos which were very good and refreshing. I also tasted some clam fritters which were fried to perfection served with a tarter sauce. I can't wait to stop back in a few weeks! read more

The food that we got was really good but it was basic stuff (a cheeseburger, chicken and fries for my children), and I got buffalo Mac and cheese with a side of fries. The fries are battered style which I love and the chicken was crispy crunchy fresh. The only thing is the waiter (who I tried to give the benefit of the doubt because he was a younger kid) forgot things we asked for/about us 3 different times. We just sat and sat. Stopped by this restaurant for the first time based on the reviews. We were excited to try it out but our experience started off terrible when we were met with an impolite manager at the host stand, Grace. Upon arrival, we asked for a table by the water and she mentioned she couldn't sit us there although there was 5 tables available in the section. Her tone and attitude about it is what made the situation bad. Based on her tone and attitude, we felt like she just wanted to insert her authority for some reason when we just wanted to be sat to enjoy our meal. I even asked when the next reservation was coming in that way we can sit and be done in time when they arrive. She answered with an attitude saying right now. As we walked away to be sat somewhere else I watched her talk to the other hosts about us making it very uncomfortable. She was extremely rude and tried to go back and forth with me . She later sat walk ins in the section we requested. I HATE places with bad customer service so for that, I won't be returning or recommend to anyone that values customer service. read more

One of the good spots to be at while you're here at the beach. It's not great but not horrible either. It's what you expect at a beachfront dining summer seasonal place. The staff did their job. Were there when you needed them. Not overly talkative. Not very hospitable. Just going through the motions. Fantastic ocean view sitting at the bar or a table. Very busy for dinner. I was there yesterday. Clam fritters are ok. Nothing to write home about. Too dense and stiff. Not light and airy as I have had at other places. The seafood cakes were good though. Now that's it's summertime, I'm constantly wanting to go to the beach. However, when I start thinking of being there and feeling like an ant in the middle of a colony of them, I change my mind. A friend of mine told me that she found this place and wanted me to go with her, so I did. Bingo!!!!! It's the perfect place to eat and be on the beach without the colony of ants!! The Andrea is an outdoor/ indoor restaurant/bar right on the beach away from the chaos of Misquamicut. You can eat under the tent or outside. We parked and were greeted by two extremely friendly people-Emily and Nate, who provided us with all of the valuable info about using the beach. It's $50 HOWEVER it includes parking ($20) and your own personal beach space (limit is four per space) for the day. Each space is spread out. You can reserve it ahead of time. The wait staff will take your orders for drinks/ food right on the beach. If you go after 2:00 and there is a space available you don't need to pay!! We tried the food. EXCELLENT!!! We shared Bang Bang Shrimp and Gouda Mac and Cheese bites. I especially liked the Bang Bang Shrimp that came in a large bowl and was filled with delicious shrimp with a sweet chili sauce. Our waiter turned us on to the Bang Bang Shrimp. That's Elias! You need to check this place out. Amazing. read more
