What a joke... We were just here 11 days ago and it was completely fine. This visit was a different story, and honestly still hard to believe. Our waitress was walking away mid-sentence while we were trying to order. She never asked my girlfriend what side she wanted, just assumed fries without mentioning other options. The appetizer came out wrong and had to be sent back. When entrees came out, everyone at the table had food except me. My shrimp taco showed up 10 minutes later, clearly forgotten, and I was supposed to get four shrimp but only got two. Gone in one bite. When I brought it up, the manager didn't offer to remake it. She just knocked 50% off the price since I'd technically gotten "half" my shrimp. Not an apology, not a fix, just a discount calculated like a math problem. I've maybe written one review in my life. My 10 month old is a very messy eater which I normally pick up myself at the end of meals when we eat out. 3x thru the course of my meal, various workers came over and swept under my son, my daughter and I and kept giving us dirty looks. The expresso martini was absolutely fantastic, that cold foam was light and airy with a good sweet taste. A very solid martini! The halibut risotto was probably one of the best fish meals I've had in the area. The fish was flaky and cooked perfectly. The risotto and sauce were super savory together and mixed really well with the fish! My only complaint would be some of the chairs there not providing much support. Came here for dinner on a Friday evening around 5pm. We were able to get a table for 4 immediately. Our waiter was very nice and attentive. Parking is easy in the big lot. Inside is nice and right on the water with great views. We ordered a crab tuna appetizer that was a special. The fish tasted good but it was kinda small and hard to split. The rice was supposed to be crispy but it wasn't very crispy. I then ordered the seared 5 spice ahi tuna sandwich which I enjoyed. But I felt like the bread overtook the sandwich and there wasn't enough flavor. The sandwich was $26. We had dinner here after arriving in Mystic for the night. We were looking for good seafood, a view of the river, and a good glass of wine. It delivered on all plus more! This was (for me anyway) a hidden gem! But based on how busy they were it wasn't hidden from the rest of Mystic. It seems everyone knew about this place to dine! It's right on the water and surrounded by boats. Great ambience, attentive staff, and delicious food! I ordered a Perro Salado based on the recommendation of the sweet ladies sitting next to me. It has tequila, aperol, grapefruit and Prosecco and it was delicious. And it seemed like the perfect place to order my first CT lobster roll. It did not disappoint. They have a nice happy hour too, in the bar area but you can make a reservation for a high top bar seat and that counts for happy hour. Anniversary in Mystic. It was a beautiful day, so dinner with a view was a priority. Red 36 fit the bill. There is a lot with plenty of free parking for the restaurant. After our dinner, we were easily able to walk over to the downtown area. We got to the restaurant at a few minutes after 5 on a Saturday. There are no reservations taken during summer months (April-September), so we hoped there wouldn't be much of a wait. We were in luck, and got a table outside overlooking water/boats. Perfect. 5-10 minutes later, and we'd definitely have to wait. Our waiter was very nice. Our meals were wonderful. I had the fish & chips. 2 large pieces of fish (I think cod?) and homemade fries. My husband and I went with our adult children for drinks and oysters. The place was PACKED. Like a pub in London at 5:00 packed. We made friends with a couple who was seated at a 4-top, who graciously gave up the table for us! (Thanks Bob and Michelle!!) We got 2 rounds of 24 oysters and fantastic cocktails. Our first time here and it was disappointing. We've heard such great this about this establishment and we're so excited to try it. The restaurant itself is chic, modern decor and casual. It sits on the water with indoor and outdoor dining. The view is spectacular. It took a while for our server to greet us. The drinks took too long and food was a tad slow as well. We started with the Mystic oysters for $3.25 each as a lunch special. I prefer west coast oysters but they only serve local ones which is fine. The person that shucked them didn't do too good because pieces of shell fell into the meat. I asked for extra lemons and only got two. The creamy clam chowder had good flavor but way too many potatoes than anything else in it. Linguine clams in red sauce were mediocre at best. The clams and pasta were overcooked and lacked flavor. It appeared that used garlic out of a jar instead of fresh garlic because you definitely can taste and smell the difference between the two. Clams were super chewy and a bit gritty with sand. Lobster Cobb salad was okay once I added more dressing and salt to it. My Cobb salad was missing avocado so I had to ask for that. For the two of us we spent $150 with tip. Our server was a bit slow in refilling drinks and it wasn't busy. Other people helped by bringing out our food and clearing the table. Overpriced for mediocre food. It may be a good place for drinks and the water view but I will not return. read more

Ambiance is salt life, beach, boating, 360 views of the water, high ceilings, white and blues decor, salt air and seafood, and yacht rock. They offer a really nice varied menu of both small plates and harder dishes most of which are inspired by the sea, but there's something for all tastes and preferences. The raw bar is a must. Great cocktails like the frozé, Mezcal Paloma, and the Hugo spritz. Start with a chowder, fried clam bellies, share the lobster Cobb salad. Beer battered (as it should be!) fish and chips, and the seared scallops over truffle mushroom risotto are solid tasty satisfying menu options. Honestly would be 5 stars for food but the customer service was a miss. My mom is 4 foot eleven so she can't sit in high top chairs because her feet don't touch the bottom. We asked for a table for 2 and they said they had nothing and it would be a 20 minute wait, which would have been fine if we didn't have to get to the airport. After saying that one of the hostesses offered up the sofa in the lounge- which again would have been fine, if there weren't empty tables everywhere. Apparently they keep four top tables for parties of four, even if someone physically can't sit in their tall high top chairs. In spite of that, someone else came along and we only waited a couple of minutes while tables were brought together for us. We were seated in what I called the enclosed porch, which was lovely. The place was packed when we went, I understand why! We saved this restaurant for the end of our trip, to celebrate our anniversary. We were not disappointed. We started off with some freshly shucked raw oysters and clam. Those were fresh and tasty. The red sangria was good. For my main entree, I got the mussels, it's on their appetizer menu. We kicked things off with a warm, hearty clam chowder, followed by their crispy Bang Bang Shrimp and a fresh dozen Ninigret oysters. There's a lot of tables crammed in together not sure if it's due to the season so there's limited outdoor seating. That being said we were seated close to the covered deck and the door to the deck was constantly opening so we were pretty cold the entire time. Drinks were not the greatest. I ordered a cosmo and didn't finish it. Food was pretty good but the price was kind of high. I got a salad that ended up being $32!! I asked for shrimp in mine and they charged PER shrimp. So I got 4. Salad originally without any protein was $18, which is crazy for just a salad. My boyfriend got a shrimp flatbread which he said was pretty good in flavor. That was $20. Service was very basic. Nothing over the top that stood out. Girls at the front desk seemed overwhelmed/stressed out so wasn't a super welcoming experience in the front desk.
