Recently we had lunch at Red 36 and we loved everything about the restaurant. The setting, the menu, the staff and service, the easy parking, and much more. We arrived and after about a 20 min wait, we got a table. The menu was varied and very well priced. I got a Mexican salad and my husband got a flatbread. Both were good size and they were delicious. Our server was attentive and prompt, even though every table at the restaurant was taken. A great choice in Mystic, with a nice view of a marina and the water.

A perfect place to enjoy dining with a water view by the Marina on a sunny/mild October afternoon. Reservations suggested as everyone had the same idea .. to take advantage of this wonderful location. Seafood and a water view were my wish and I couldn't have had a most wonderful experience with our family.. The menu was filled with a variety of delectable seafood choices, but offered something for every palate. The beverage menu was impressive( wines, beers and regular & seasonal cocktails, etc) The atmosphere was energetic.. we were fortunate to have a table one of their outside decks... the service was excellent ,and as as a belated birthday celebration ..I couldn't have asked for anything better!!!! Highly recommend..

A big group of us decided to come by our favorite spot last Friday after work. We all sat outside by the bar. The place was packed everywhere. Our bartender Jorge was so cool to make me a new drink specially for me. A custom White Sangria which I loved. My friends all were happy with the food and drinks. As always you just have an amazing time with the view; weather and all other customers that are never afraid to start conversations. We had not tried their nachos and was super surprised to see how big it was.

We've been to Red 36 many times for drinks, appetizers, and dinner, and we always enjoy it. The atmosphere is nice and relaxed, making it a great spot whether you're stopping in for a drink or sitting down for a full meal. The service is consistently good, and everything always feels well taken care of. It's a place we're happy to keep going back to.

Anniversary in Mystic. It was a beautiful day, so dinner with a view was a priority. Red 36 fit the bill. There is a lot with plenty of free parking for the restaurant. After our dinner, we were easily able to walk over to the downtown area. We got to the restaurant at a few minutes after 5 on a Saturday. There are no reservations taken during summer months (April-September), so we hoped there wouldn't be much of a wait. We were in luck, and got a table outside overlooking water/boats. Perfect. 5-10 minutes later, and we'd definitely have to wait. Our waiter was very nice. Our meals were wonderful. I had the fish & chips. 2 large pieces of fish (I think cod?) and homemade fries. My husband had a burger with egg on top & fries. Really good. I had one of the drink specials - cider sangria. So glad we tried Red 36. Definitely recommend a trip there.

We really enjoy Red 36 The good: -Beautiful location on the Mystic River including deck dining -Open air dining most of the year as it is surrounded by folding glass doors -Cool even on a hot day -Awesome fresh and local raw bar -Fully stocked bar and local beers -Good service -Dedicated Gluten Free Menu taking the hassle out of ordering for those with celiac. GF favorites include the local scallops and risotto, the seafood paella, the PEI Mussels and of course the Ninegrit and Stonington Oysters -Family favorites include the Paella, Fish and Chips, Lobster Mac and Cheese, the Salmon Burger and the Fried Brussels. The not so great -No reservations during the summer months so the wait can be long -There is a dedicated parking lot but it gets full quickly in the summer. -Raw bar and bar service can b slow, plan accordingly.

Our first time here and it was disappointing. We've heard such great this about this establishment and we're so excited to try it. The restaurant itself is chic, modern decor and casual. It sits on the water with indoor and outdoor dining. The view is spectacular. It took a while for our server to greet us. The drinks took too long and food was a tad slow as well. We started with the Mystic oysters for $3.25 each as a lunch special. I prefer west coast oysters but they only serve local ones which is fine. The person that shucked them didn't do too good because pieces of shell fell into the meat. I asked for extra lemons and only got two. The creamy clam chowder had good flavor but way too many potatoes than anything else in it. Linguine clams in red sauce were mediocre at best. The clams and pasta were overcooked and lacked flavor. It appeared that used garlic out of a jar instead of fresh garlic because you definitely can taste and smell the difference between the two. Clams were super chewy and a bit gritty with sand. Lobster Cobb salad was okay once I added more dressing and salt to it. My Cobb salad was missing avocado so I had to ask for that. For the two of us we spent $150 with tip. Our server was a bit slow in refilling drinks and it wasn't busy. Other people helped by bringing out our food and clearing the table. Overpriced for mediocre food. It may be a good place for drinks and the water view but I will not return.

Well I just may be partial, but this quaint little town surrounded by water creates a lovely coastal vibe for this gem. Ambiance is salt life, beach, boating, 360 views of the water, high ceilings, white and blues decor, salt air and seafood, and yacht rock. They offer a really nice varied menu of both small plates and harder dishes most of which are inspired by the sea, but there's something for all tastes and preferences. The raw bar is a must. Great cocktails like the frozé, Mezcal Paloma, and the Hugo spritz. Start with a chowder, fried clam bellies, share the lobster Cobb salad. Beer battered (as it should be!) fish and chips, and the seared scallops over truffle mushroom risotto are solid tasty satisfying menu options. The service is always friendly and unrushed no matter how busy they are. I've always found everyone to be so pleasant.

Honestly would be 5 stars for food but the customer service was a miss. My mom is 4 foot eleven so she can't sit in high top chairs because her feet don't touch the bottom. We asked for a table for 2 and they said they had nothing and it would be a 20 minute wait, which would have been fine if we didn't have to get to the airport. After saying that one of the hostesses offered up the sofa in the lounge- which again would have been fine, if there weren't empty tables everywhere. Apparently they keep four top tables for parties of four, even if someone physically can't sit in their tall high top chairs. We had a lovely lunch, our waiter was adorable, food wonderful, and when we left, surprise, the tables were still empty. Just a request to do a little better for your customers.

We were a party of six right after the lunch rush. Hostess was not welcoming and I felt like we were bothering her. In spite of that, someone else came along and we only waited a couple of minutes while tables were brought together for us. We were seated in what I called the enclosed porch, which was lovely. The waitress seemed impatient and not really helpful with the menu (I didn't even realize there was a specials menu until after I had my mind set on my selections). The NE clam chowder was a bit salty for my taste. The crab cake was well-received. We ordered assorted raw oysters but there was no "explanation" of which were what. Overall generally not a "wow" experience.

Great seafood with a nice view and not bad prices! The scallops were delicious and we also enjoyed the lobster roll. Service was friendly!

Day trip to Mystic today and this was my husband and my first stop for lunch. Beautiful day and we sat on the covered patio. Gorgeous views of the water and harbor!! It was a brisk day but we were plenty warm as the patio is covered. Service was excellent, no complaints at all. Our server was super nice and did a great job. I got a glass of prosecco which was tasty paired with a cup of the creamy clam chowder. Chowder was very good but perhaps needs more clam and less potato. We both had lobster rolls with the warm buttered roll. Really yummy, definitely buttery and lobster was good. This was my first ever lobster roll and it did not disappoint. Lastly had their fall sangria which was very festive and tasty.

Came here on a weekend for lunch with my family and would give this place an overall 7.5/10! We waited about 5-10 mins to get seated at a hightop inside, and service was pretty good. Below are the food items we ordered and what we'd rate them. Best thing to get is the clam chowder, calamari and fish and chips! Sounds so simple but this place knows how to do it really well. The restaurant is sat on a dock overlooking the water and I'd give the overall ambiance a 10/10. Would recommend for others to try! Crab cake: 7/10 Clam chowder: 10/10 Brussel sprouts: 9/10 Seared scallops on truffle mushroom risotto: 5/10 (loved the scallops but the risotto was missing an umami flavor, overall taste of ingredients wasn't cohesive) Fish and chips: 10/10 Seafood Paella: 8/10 Grilled Salmon: 6/10 (nothing too special)

    Are dogs allowed?

I don’t believe so because in order to get to the deck, you need to walk through the restaurant. But I’m not 100% certain

Would reservations be needed for a weekday lunch?

They don't take reservations but there's tons of seating.

Is it kid friendly and do they have a children's menu?

Yes they do, but upon request

    Is it fancy or casual?

    It's causal.

What is the name of the marina that the Dock side of restaurant sits in?

Seaport Marine ... restaurant is between train bridge and mystic river bridge. Parking for restaurant is in boatyard. Docking available in harbor ... restaurant feels like it's suspended over water!

We started off with both raw and roasted oysters, both of which, we some of the best we have ever had. I love Shashuka. I've never had it with tomatillos. This version is now my favorite. I enjoyed the play between savory and acid. I chose my eggs to be prepared over easy expecting the yolks to add the desired richness that tomatillos can handle without overpowering their bite. What set this version apart for me was the addition of the pickled vegetables. They greatly complimented the tomatillos with their own sweetness and acidity that made for a well balanced bite. Others in our party felt similarly, that their meals were so flavorful and so well execucted that it made for a superb dining experience.

In the interim I have only had two chowders that I would even put in the same league. Last night we had dinner here, and everything was excellent, the atmosphere was of course as wonderful as always. The only disappointment I had was the quality of the chowder has taken such a drastic turn. It was very onion heavy (my daughter thought maybe leeks) that I couldn't taste clam at all. It was also very thick and gluey. Lastly (and I know this is the luck of the ladle) if I got any actual clams, I didn't notice them. Clearly a lot is going right in that kitchen, but I think the head chef needs to go back to the drawing board on the chowder. For such an icon of a restaurant to be serving that chowder is a true shame.

Think elevated steakhouse meets coastal charm, wrapped in a vibe that says, "Relax, you're about to eat very, very well." Let's start with the amuse bouche, because honestly, more restaurants should bring this level of ceremony to the table. A tiny, perfect bite that sets the tone -- thoughtful, flavorful, and just indulgent enough to make you lean back and say, "Oh, we're doing this tonight." The drink specials? Dangerous in the best possible way. Creative without being gimmicky, balanced, and clearly crafted by someone who knows their way around a shaker. You can tell they're not phoning it in -- these cocktails have personality. And then... the prime rib. The star. The reason you cancel your other dinner plans. Tender, deeply seasoned, and cooked with the kind of confidence that only comes from a kitchen that knows exactly what it's doing. Every slice feels like a small celebration. Service is top‑tier -- warm, attentive, and genuinely invested in making the night feel special. The staff strikes that perfect balance between polished and personable, and the whole place hums with a relaxed, upscale energy that makes you want to linger. Now, the one critique -- and it's a real one: no kids' menu. I love a good Wagyu moment, but a $28 Wagyu burger for a six‑year‑old feels... ambitious. Delicious, sure. Practical? Not so much. A couple kid‑friendly options would go a long way for families who want to enjoy a great meal without taking out a small loan for the under‑10 crowd. But even with that quirk, Jeramiah's absolutely earns its five stars. It's a standout dining experience -- thoughtful, flavorful, and confidently elevated without ever feeling pretentious. The Rigatoni ($28), a pasta with Bolognese in a cream emulsion, frozen in time due to its salt preservation technique, was indistinguishable in size from its appetizer counterparts. One example of such includes the Fried Calamari ($20), and the Fried Mozzarella ($15), both of which came under-seasoned and under-portioned in the vie for freshness and seashore "vibes", leading to a spectacular disgracement to its 'Mariner' title. It is unclear thus far into the lore who this restaurant is intended for. A romantic date where each party tries to look less hungry than the other? A local photographer trying to flaunt Shutterstock photos on its faux-wood bulkheads? Whoever the audience may be, it certainly does not include people looking for heartily assembled food, who also happen to be hungry. Of course, blame does not go without acknowledging my naivety of hoping a reliable cash cow in trigger-happy wealthy Mystic, would strive for improvement.
