Great experience!! This restaurant is located next to the inn at Mystic and has stunning views of the bay. The interior is beautiful with a nice seating area next to a warm fireplace. The service was good, and the food was fairly good. The burger was delicious, however the flatbread was a little soggy underneath. Overall the food was decent, and the ambiance was just gorgeous! 4/5 stars

Fish & Chips, I substituted the chips for mashed potatoes, coleslaw.

Beautiful place. Indoor and outdoor sitting. We were able to sit outside! Our server, Evan, sure knows customer service. Great job, Evan! Great menu: Fish & Chip, seasoned and fried to perfection, Lemon Drop Lavender Martini bread pudding for dessert Recommended.

    Sweetheart Dinner Special

I had the most amazing Valentine's dinner at Rocks 21 last night. Upon entry we were immediately greeted and quickly sat with our reservations in the dining area for the Sweetheart Dinner Special ($99 per couple for a four course meal). They had live music playing in the separated (more casual) bar area which was pleasant to listen to throughout our dinner. Their Sweetheart Dinner menu had plentiful choices and after consideration I opted for the cajun crab chowder, shrimp and avocado cucumber bites, and the filet mignon surf and turf. Everything was so flavorful, seasoned well, and so delicious! My boyfriend got the chicken parm and Caesar salad which he was complimenting throughout the entirety of our meal. Our dinner was paired with sparkling champagne and we concluded with chocolate and vanilla mousse pudding. The portions were generous and we were so full by the end of our meal that we had to get dessert to go! Our waitress was wonderful and so attentive, and made our experience wonderful for our first time visit. The restaurant is located conveniently 5 minutes from downtown Mystic and in the same lot as Mystic Inn right near the waterfront. A great hidden gem. I cannot wait to visit in the summer months with their outdoor seating - it is a lovely place! I hear they serve brunch as well as more casual dining options too.

My favorite parts of dinner were the coconut shrimp and the cookie skillet. Our server was also very nice. It was too cold to go out to see the view but through the window it still looked beautiful. The rest of the food was okay, everything came out piping hot. I just thought my entree was lacking in flavor and the crab Rangoon dip was very cream cheese heavy. I also got the winter pomegranate and rosemary daiquiri and that was tasty!

I blocked his face but I needed to show how outrageous it was to be around FOOD. Girls had their hair up,why not him?

UPDATE: Would anyone want to go to an establishment that can't handle honest reviews about your personal experience & even message you such negative messages?? Not sure if the two RUDE, AGGRESSIVE & THREATENING direct yelp messages that I've gotten lately were from fellow staff or family/friends of the employee (they were from an Abby C. & Robert C.) ..but were in regards to my review below! Whoever these people are that direct messaged me on here (I would hope they weren't immaturely encouraged by staff?) NEED TO GROW UP & DEVELOP THICK SKIN!! Learn how Yelp works! Reviews aren't always nice and are posted to not only help other yelpers but to suggest and advise, which helps the restaurant! **Yelp exists to provide a platform where users can review local businesses while also HELPING improve restaurants as I've mentioned.**I'm a former public health inspector for NYC (the hours were too intense which is why I left, if you're wondering) an employee with hair like THAT would not fly and the owner could even be fined, ok? What I didn't include in my review was that we also heard the patrons sitting next us, even comment on his hair when he came in the room, there was a comment of "Oh geeze, look at his hair!" So clearly, we weren't the only ones taken back. Had I told the staff about his hair, what was he supposed to do at that moment? Shave it? Or even if he put his hair back when I mentioned it on the spot, you think I would trust getting food from them after THAT? would YOU? How would YOU feel if you found hair strands where you sat or IN YOUR FOOD?? Hair is a BIG Problem, yes in the FOOD service industry, it's right up there with cockroaches! It can certainly be considered a health code violation and can result in a write-up from a restaurant inspector, as it poses a potential risk of contaminating food with hair, which is considered a food safety hazard. Look these things up, before sending a childish threatening messages & feeling "bold" BEHIND A SCREEN, as was hypocritically mentioned, in 1 of the messages I got! What these immature people don't know, is that I still have close ties to restaurant inspectors and haven't mentioned these things to them. I post reviews hoping managers will take suggestions and improve. The truth hurts but do better! The comments made to me in these direct messages were so exaggerated, outrageous & RIDICULOUS! They honestly sounded like they came from an angry teenager. Are they also messaging other yelpers because their feelings got hurt over a REVIEW?? Are they going to message someone who posts a negative review about their favorite places?? If this person "quit" (IF that is true) all he had to do was put his hair back, it was on HIM to go to that extreme. Don't blame others for his actions. Again a simple tying your hair back, like the female employees had, would have been fine. Why are the female wait staff the only ones who are doing that?? I don't know why these "keyboard trolls" are obsessed with my review. It's sad that my (HONEST) review based on MY experience, are upsetting them so much.**Adult lesson 101: Don't blame other people for his actions** if that's how you (or him or anyone) view it that way, then you're going to have a really tough time with life!

The outdoor patio looking out to the water was so nice, and the food was delicious. The lobster nachos were so so good, I would go back for those alone.

We saw their menu that they had a beef…read moreWellington and at the very end of the description it said "deconstructed" so I called to check with that meant. The hostess, who was on was very new, and I don't think she fully understood what I was asking. She ended up telling me that, Yes it was a normal beef Wellington. Cool, so excited, don't see those often. We get there, I order it because I already asked for clarification and didn't think I'd need to ask a second time. As we were waiting for our food, I saw some dishes come out from the table across from us and the waitress said, "Here is your beef Wellington". I realized that it was a concept of beef Wellington, but not a traditional beef Wellington, which is what I'd been worried about. We hadn't seen our server in a while so I went over to the bar and let them know that I wanted to cancel my order because it just wasn't what I wanted and the price tag was $60. I've been willing to pay that if it was what I had my heart set on, but it wasn't. They said they would cancel it. In a little bit, someone then came over, not our waitress, to tell me that I will be charged half of the price of the beef Wellington because I canceled it and it was already made. And of course, I was not OK with that. I once again explained to them that I had called and asked if it was a traditional beef Wellington and was told that yes it was. They said that the hosts are not trained on the menu so they cannot answer questions on them. I then asked what is the point of having someone who is untrained on the menu answer your phones because sometimes people are going to ask questions before they choose to come to a restaurant. I refused to pay the $30, she stated she would have to call the manager back because the manager was not on premises that day and see what she could do. In the meantime, they brought out the beef Wellington that they made and tried to entice me to eat it and I of course said no thank you. Finally, they told me I didn't have to pay. I ordered the stew appetizer. It was very small but tasty, and I was pretty hungry at that point so I'm glad I ordered it. Not sure I'd try this place again, but maybe if I lived closer. Not having a manager on premises really made it tough, it was a massive waiting game to get an answer, and I've never heard of a place blame the customer for their knowledge gaps. I definitely will not be going out of my way to come here again.

I'm back! I love this place! It's quiet here ) it's only a Tuesday) but we're late (arrived at 9:15…read morePM). There is no shortage of decor here! I like the huge carafe of ice water and the spicy potato chips! For my first drink, I'm having a Negroni. A negroni is an Italian cocktail, made of equal parts gin, vermouth rosso (red, semi-sweet), and Campari, generally served with ice, and commonly garnished with an orange slice or orange peel. It is considered an apéritif. They also have an Obi Wan Negroni made with Cold Brew Infused Campari instead. For my first food item, I'm having the Cream of Mushroom soup with chicken. Cream of mushroom soup is a simple type of soup where a basic roux is thinned with creamor milk and then mushrooms or mushroom brothare added. This is delicious! It's nice and hot with a lot of shredded chicken. For my entree, I'm having the Brussels Sprout Salad made with shaved Brussels sprouts, spring mix, bacon, pomegranate drizzle, silvered almonds, shaved Parmesan and lemon vinaigrette dressing. Look at the height of this! This tastes great! I am also having a side of mushy peas. Mushy peas are a traditional British side dish of marrowfat peas that are cooked until soft and mashed into a mush. The dish is especially popular in Northern England and the Midlands, and often eaten with fish and chips or served as part of "pie and peas". Here's a quick overview of mushy peas: Ingredients** Traditionally made with dried marrowfat peas, but can be substituted with frozen peas or green split peas. I love this! It's nice and hot.,What a rare treat! This is hard to find anywhere! I'm also having a side of cold slaw. Coleslaw, or "slaw" in North America, is a side dish of shredded cabbage with a vinaigrette or mayo-based dressing. The word "coleslaw" comes from the Dutch term koolsla, meaning "cabbage salad". Recipes vary by region and can include additional ingredients like carrots, apples, raisins, or celery. Coleslaw originated in the Netherlands in the 18th century, but references to similar cabbage salads appear in ancient Greek and Roman medical texts. This is the best! Nice, thick dressing! For my last drink, I'm having a Godfather. The Godfather is a sweet and strong cocktail that blends Scotch whisky and amaretto liqueur. It's typically served in an old-fashioned glass over ice and can be garnished with an orange twist. The drink became popular in the 1970s disco scene and is named after the 1972 film starring Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. Some say bartender Joe Scialom created the Godfather to capture the movie's spirit. This is done just right! Good job! What a great meal here!

Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right downtown Manchester on Main Street is this gem where Lucky Taco once stood. It echoes the standard British pubs and taverns from across the pond with deep yellow lighting, woods, exposed brick walls and open floorplan kind of vibe. It was lively, energetic and welcoming! Service: Lara took excellent care of us and she was very helpful! I had no issues at all. Food/Drinks: On the table when we arrived was an Irn Bru which is a SUPER popular drink sold in Scotland, often beating Coca-Cola in sales. It tasted like orange licorice, but it was actually pretty decent. Our first appetizer was an order of Crisps which were like thick cut potato chips with some garlic parmesan seasonings which I actually enjoyed! There was plenty of flavor from each component involved. Next up was the 007 which was their spin on the martini James Bond orders! In it is Wheatley Vodka, Bombay Gin, and English Tea Infused Lillet Blanc. It tasted like a dirty martini and was pretty strong! Smooth as well. I enjoyed it. Next up was a dish called Toad In The Hole which is Yorkshire pudding stuffed with smoked sausage then topped with caramelized onions and gravy. I have never seen anything like this before, but it was so strange, but pretty decent! The Yorkshire pudding was a bit eggy and dense. The gravy was a must though, since the other components of the dish lacked the salt that I was seeking. Next up was the Cloth Of Gold Old which is an Old Fashion with a twist which contained Old Forester, fresh lemon and honey. I enjoyed it, but I'm not sure why the mention of Old Fashion was on the menu unless this is supposed to differ from an "Old Fashioned". No matter, moving on. Next up were the Potato Pom Pom which are fired potato balls served with a house-made cheddar cheese sauce. It sounds like a simple dish. The cheese was thick, majorly cheddar-y. I really, really liked these! They tasted like a fancy tater tot. The potato inside was so soft and tender and the exterior was so crispy. My last drink of the night was the Bramble On Rose which is their take on a 1980's classic created in Soho, London. In it is Bombay Gin, fresh lemon, rose water and blackberry syrup. This was my favorite drink of the night. It was fresh, had some herbal flavors and the rose flavor made itself known. I really, really liked this drink and would certainly order it again. Lastly, the quintessential Fish & Chips! It's Atlantic cod in a brown ale batter, served with musky peas, chips, tartar sauce and a curry sauce. The curry sauce was surprisingly fantastic. I was blown away and absolutely needed more of it. The mushy peas resembled guacamole, but I had no idea how I was supposed to eat them. Lol. Were they a sauce? I don't know, but they tasted exactly how you'd think they'd taste. The fish was also fantastic. It was light, yet greasy and crispy. Value: The most expensive thing on the menu is $22.00. This place is not expensive at all so you certainly won't break the bank. Portions are decent size too. In conclusion, I absolutely enjoyed myself here and highly recommend you (reading this) to check it out! British food is... unpredictable if I must throw a word on it. Lol. Like, I almost couldn't predict what some of this stuff would taste like because I had never had anything like it before! Now, I'm a believer!
