Great Dive Bar - Delicious Food Ryans is old dive bar pub with dated decor (which is a good thing) and plenty of food and drink deals. The food at this pub is spot on. I love their kickin chickin. its a great value and you can choose the sauce and trust me, i've tried all of them and they are all fantastic. also, the lobster roles and fried seafood are of the quality you would see at a seafood restaurant but without the high cost. In town visiting Of course I looked on yelp for a local place to relax. I liked what I read so I decided to stop in. It's not easy being a woman and being by yourself but Erin the bartender made me feel welcome right away. My battery almost died and she went above and beyond by lending me her personal charger. I was grateful due to the fact that my phone was dying. She handled the bar with ease. Most people seemed to know each other and were very pleasant. I saw a couple pool tables to the side. Keno was playing but I'm not sure what else they offered. TV's were on playing sports and the enthusiast were really enjoying the game. I had already eaten so I can't tell you about the food but from what I saw it looked delicious If I'm ever in the area again I will definitely stop in and hopefully it's Erin's shift. read more

Well we started off with staying down at the mystic Marriott hotel in spa Looking for some places to eat and we hit Google then Yelp and Ryan's pub came up So we took a drive we couldn't find the place it's actually a little hole in the wall pub/bar next to a smoke shop, the food was excellent we had some bang bang shrimp, I had a bacon barbecue Burger With a couple Of Jack and cokes and my significant other had like a seafood platter & I will say the food was great. I wish I had gotten some pictures of the food as it was the last thing on my mind. The Atmosphere is like a pub/bar & friendly So don't be afraid of that I definitely recommend this place, Hit them up for lunch or dinner But either way I can say the food was awesome better than most restaurants. read more

We ended up eating here three times in the week long stay that we were in the area. I had the burger one time and it was really good for flavor. I had the fish and chips on one visit, and they were very good serve fresh and hot. The food, beer and service in this place. we're on point on every visit. The only negative on this place is that it's dated and having doors open at times draws the flies in. read more

Do you have a little secret spot in your neighborhood? The kind of place no one really knows about, and you aren't telling because a bunch of guests might ruin the comfortable vibe? I'm betting this is that place for folks on the outskirts of Groton. You'd never know it from the outside. Ryan's looks to be a very ordinary neighborhood bar from the street. And on stepping inside, you'd easily confuse it with an oversized local. That'd be right up to the point when you got served at the bar. The staffing here is outstanding. The kind lady behind the bar when I visited was quick to suggest a pair of favorite dishes, fried whole-belly clams and a "good" cheeseburger. Good was understating it by quite a bit. This is a fantastic cheeseburger. Hot greasy, coarsely ground beef in a loosely formed, hand made patty, caramelized on the flattop and served on a sweet glazed bun. Cooked to perfection by the way, hot pink and juicy in the center. I opted for a serving of onion rings as well, also done very well, crispy and delicious. If I'm in the area again I'll try something more adventurous. The burger was great, I can't wait to see what they do with some of the local seafood on offer. After reading reviews on Yelp and seeing that the food was delicious, my mom and I decided to check this place out. We walked in, the bar area was packed and we made our way to the banquet area where there was a man watching sports, which was extremely loud, and a huge fan, which was extremely loud. We shut the fan off because it was by the only open table, and waited. No one came by. No one spoke to us. No one acknowledged our presence. Nothing. Nada. Zilch. During our overnight stay in this area we had very few choices of restaurants that were open to accommodate us for dinner. I made some phone calls and this restaurant told me that they were open and had seating for the four of us. When we pulled up to the restaurant, looking at it from the outside on a normal day with other restaurants available, I would have never stepped foot in this place by looking at it from the outside, but we didn't have much of a choice. It basically looked like a vacant space with a sign in the window. When we went inside we were warmly greeted and a couple of tables were pushed together for us. Well I have to tell you, the service and the food was incredible. The wait staff could not have been any nicer, and the menu was huge and eclectic and had many great surprises on it, but most of all, the food was magnificent. If we were staying here more than one night we would have been back in a heartbeat. Keep up the good work guys. read more

No reservations required. 1/2 lb burger was more than I could eat but so good. Grilled cheese was exactly what you'd expect. Solid dive bar with really good food. Guy next to us ordered a steak and he said it was way more than he expected for $22. It looked so awesome and it was clearly more than a pound. Super cheep and easy if your in the area with free parking. Get you dive bar on and try it the staff are super friendly. I'd go back for the steak but we are leaving today. Hope someone can update the steak dinner. read more

I like this place, especially Sue the bartender who led us to a nice sunset and then we returned for beers and dinner. Good wings but a couple of fair at best lobster rolls at $22 a pop. I'd stick to the more typical pub fare for an overall better experience next time read more

Food: Burgers and fries are delicious. Takeout: Due to the pandemic we ordered takeout and everything was smooth and the staff was very respectful to our heath and wore mask and kept distance. Stumbled upon Ryan's Pub after leaving the beach and so glad we stopped in! Brenda was extremely accommodating of our group of over 10 (partially rowdy) people which can be hard to find! Casual, fun pub atmosphere with 2 pool tables AND cornhole!! Menu is insane ! Crazy affordable too! The variety of wing sauces is unmatched. Be sure to try the Cajun Ranch sauce !! If you come here and don't order a burger, you're absolutely missing out. 100% will be returning for not only the (and I can't stress this enough) AMAZING food, but especially to see Brenda's smiling face !!! read more

One of the worst experiences I've ever had!! We were part of a large group and I ordered first (boneless with fries and nachos) and every person in our group received their food before us (also ordered wings/boneless and fries) When we asked about our food both the cook and the bartender look puzzled and claimed that somebody else had accidentally taken our food. Instead of apologizing they quickly ran to the kitchen and tried to act as if they hadn't forgotten our food. The nachos that "take longer to cook" came out with cold shredded cheese and the boneless were still not ready. Then when I began drinking my water, it had black particles in it. I nicely approached the bartender and showed him the water and he was completely unfazed. "There was probably stuff in the bottom of the cup." When I went on to explain that the food took very long even though we had been the first to order yet the very last people to receive our food, he was super rude! His excuse was that there was a lot of people and the same thing happened last week. Never once did he apologize or even care to show a bit of remorse! I understand that things can get busy, orders get forgotten, things go wrong. All I wanted was an apology and for him to at least pretend that he cared about my experience and would like to resolve my issues. Needless to say I WILL NEVER BE BACK and I will be sure to tell EVERYONE I know to steer clear of this place!!!!! The saddest thing about this is that I love to support local businesses. Neighborhood pub with great food. Don't let the unassuming exterior fool you, they offer excellent food from stuffed burgers to seafood that rivals any of the local restaurants for miles around. The burgers are hand made and hand-pressed served on a brioche bun and are so good, my wife, who rarely eats meat says it's the best she's ever had. I just heard they're adding french-dipped roast beef sandwiches to their menu and will cost less than $6 on Mondays. How can you beat that? read more
