Can't go wrong with the steak frites. Cooked absolutely perfect and tender, great sauce and fries. Brussels were a hit, crispy and flavorful. The wedge Caesar salad was also a hit, fantastic dressing and fantastic shaved cheese. The anchovy was basic though. The fish taco's are some of the best around, especially if you get them blackened!

Excellent Food. The grilled seafood medley and the gnocchi were surprisingly out of this world. We will definitely come back. To top it off order the blueberry bread pudding.

On a recent trip to East Coast I went to this seafood restaurant. I've been here at least one other time on prior trips to the area. There are a lot of very good seafood restaurants up and down the coast of Connecticut, Rhode Island, etc., however, this spot really isn't one of them. In my most recent trip, I had a mixed experience. The food was good. Both of soups I tried, the lobster bisque and the New England clam chowder, were good. At least as good at other places in the area. The firecracker chicken had good taste, but the chicken was a bit tough. The fish and breading of the fish and chips was good, but french fries seemed stale. Lastly, the blacken mahi mahi was tasty, but I'm not sure they served or preparedthe fish correctly. The dish meet the description on the menu, but rather than fish being prepared with a nice crust of char/spices, I got fish drenched in sweet sauce. It tasted good, but it didn't seem like blackened fish. I ate it because I was hungry. I was hungry because the service that night was poor. It was also super loud in the restaurant. While the server was present and attentive, it took nearly an hour to get the main courses from time of sitting down. When asked why the food took so long, the server merely said the had a lot of big groups. At one point during dinner, I had to used the bathroom. The men's room only had one toilet, and, I will spare you the details, it was super gross and no one would want to use it. The views and atmosphere are amazing, but that's typical of restaurant like these, and more to do with the location and the quality of the restaurant. In sum, this spot is not a hard pass, but be cautious, there are better spots.

My friends and I had reservations for dinner at 7pm but we still had to wait 15-20 minutes for our table. We got drinks while we waited - I got the peach bellini which was yummy. For dinner, I did the crab cake salad but without the cheese and I was disappointed it only came with 3 small bite sized crab cakes and then just the arugula. I wish there was more to the salad. I got a side of the fingerling potatoes and they were good. My friend got the teriyaki hanger steak and that was SO good I wish I got that instead. It's a nicer restaurant as on the nicer side. We sat outside which was nice and it's on the water.

Always love it here. Waitress was so helpful to my party of 5. Recommended great food and drinks. We had the best time.

Went to Breakwater while visiting my son in the area; the views and vibe were spectacular, and my oysters were fresh and delicious. I opted for the hot lobster roll, and man, this is what a lobster roll is supposed to be. Absolutely plan to visit Breakwater if you are in the Stonington area!

Enjoyed a wonderful early dinner out on the deck overlooking the harbor and clear enough to see Fishers Island and Long Island. I had the Nashville Hot chicken sandwich and chips, both were very good. Enjoyed a nice local lager, and our server was knowledgeable and very attentive.

Usually when in Ct a must stop. Location is beautiful relaxing eating on dock. We started by having parking issues the lot is extremely small. Once inside for our noon reservation we found out they ran out of lobsters and they were waiting for a delivery. Very disappointing. I ordered the fish and chips and the fish was good. My guests ordered the seafood sampler which was not eye appealing but tasted good. The other ordered the blackened fish taco. They are GF and without the gf lobster roll we're limited. The taco was ok. Luckily it was a beautiful day to sit on the dock and sip on our drinks but sure wish they had those lobsters

You'd be right, there are restaurants here serving such standard cuisine, but what makes a trip to the Boro special is a trip to Milagro Cafe, serving the best Mexican food and drink in Southeastern Connecticut. Having eaten in dozens of Mexican restaurants from Texas to NYC over the years, my wife Pat and I were thrilled to find Milagro: sure, it has traditional burritos and tacos dishes, but the chef's take combining Mexican fare with an American twist is special. Last night I had braised beef enchiladas, while Pat chose roasted pork with tomatillo and cactus sauce-- both incredible. And the drinks! Milagro Cafe has a truly amazing bartender in Rebecca who, given her talents with margaritas, would be a renowned mixologist if she were in Manhattan ( although she'd never let anyone call her that.) She creates an amazing array of original margaritas, whether her classic Patron ( my go-to) or one of her seasonal creations ( Pat loved Rebecca's mixed berry margarita, a summer selection)...better than any we've ever had, anywhere. When you add in a warm, professional and attentive staff led by Theresa, who provides service, a smile and smarts with everyone who enters the cafe, you have in Milagro Cafe one of the best reasons to visit the Boro. Stonington's still.got its rustic charms, but in Milagro Cafe it's got spice too!

We went for an early seating yesterday and bravely brought our 8 month old. This was already a bold ask because this restaurant doesn't scream children but port of call took it with stride. We were accommodated with a highchair and several staff stopped to say hi to our baby. (For his part, our baby was relatively chill although a loud babbler, and no tears which we would call a win). Now onto the product. Absolutely phenomenal. We were wowed from start to finish. Every single drink, dish, and dessert far exceeded our expectations. The happy hour menu is very generously priced and had several favorites off the actual menu, as well as some items which I believe are available all the time. Our server (I'm very sorry I can't think of his name) was fantastic and offered excellent recommendations to like drinks on the current menu based on drinks we said we usually steer towards. Every drink (we had 4 different ones) absolutely knocked it out of the park. This would be an awesome spot for cocktails and apps with friends but is also a superb full service date night spot. We can't (and won't) stop raving about port of call!!!

I actually expected it to be really busy when we got there around 10:45, but there were quite a few open tables. They sat us in a queue table right in the window near the water. I couldn't decide what to get because everything looks so good. I ended up with the Patatas Brava which had soupy in it. I haven't had soup in years and they made it really stand out with the home fries, eggs, and crema. My wife had the basic breakfast, and everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. We ordered an apple crêpe for the table that had caramel and toasted almonds on it. The staff was also great. We had one waitress, but a second one was always there to check on us. On our way to Maine to visit relatives, my companion and I thought a stopover in the peaceful…read moreseaside village of Watch Hill, Rhode Island, with dinner at the famous Ocean House, might be the perfect start to our extended weekend. While the hotel offers several dining possibilities, there is no question in my mind that Coast is their culinary chef d'oeuvre. My dining partner and I found their New England-inspired cuisine to be not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. Throw in an award-winning wine list, friendly & personable service, picturesque view of the Atlantic Ocean, and a most satisfying evening at table awaits. Be advised, however... What also awaits is a pretty hefty hit on your pocketbook, as our five-course prix-fixe Degustation Menu - with several choices included - was priced at $145.00 per person, plus beverages, tax & gratuity (there is also a similarly priced vegetarian menu). If you want to add the Reserve Wine Pairing, which I did, that will cost you an additional $125.00 per person (Grand Wine Pairing an additional $250.00 per person). Definitely not what you would call a cheap date. That being said, however, in my opinion - and that of my companion as well - dinner here is well worth the expenditure. Our first course was the Ninigret Pond Oyster "Pan Roast." Sourced from a local coastal lagoon that is linked to the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island Sound, Ninigret Pond is home to several reliable oyster purveyors. I must confess that I have never been an enthusiastic fan of bivalves in general - and raw oysters in particular. However, the pan-roasted representatives sampled here, smooth & buttery with a touch of sweetness and sprinkled with Royal Belgian Osetra Caviar, were quite good indeed. And the Ruinart Singulier 18th Edition, Blanc de Blancs, Brut Nature, Champagne, (France), proved to be the perfect libationary accompaniment. But even better was the outrageously delicious Bluefin Tuna Tartare. I have tasted this dish on numerous occasions; however, this particular incarnation was in a class all by itself. Gently caressed by avocado and kissed by golden kiwi and a beguiling carrot ginger reduction, the result was a presentation that was pleasing to both eye and palate, and a highlight of our evening. The 2019 Tegernseerhof Loibenberg Riesling Smaragd Wachau (Austria), of course, added immensely to the enjoyment. The next course presented us with a rather interesting conundrum... the choice between two equally appetizing possibilities. My dining companion, of course, went immediately for the Seared Scallops & Foie Gras. I, on the other hand, decided to side entirely with the carnivores... Kuro Farms Wagyu Strip Loin. Companioned by short rib, confit carrot, and Sicilian pistachios, this was a winner all the way... as was the wine selection, the 2020 Aslina "Umsasane," an enticing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from Stellenbosch, South Africa. The dessert course was especially noteworthy, a Blackberry Sudachi Entremet aided and abetted by white chocolate mousse, lavender, and raw honey sponge. A rather unusual denouement, I must admit, but a lovely presentation and irresistibly scrumptious. And, once again, the wine selection - 2018 Domaine Huet Le Mont Moelleux, a Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Touraine, in France's Loire Valley - was right on the money. The Bottom Line: An exceptionally fine dining experience. Pricey, to be sure... but, in my opinion, worth every penny. A restaurant to which my dining companion and I would gladly return. Highly recommended on all counts.
