    Warm olives
    Nick N.

I really enjoyed the service and the ambience of this place. The waitress was super helpful and was very patient with me explaining the menu. I kind of just walked in on a whim, so I don't know if I was fully into the Mediterranean food style at the moment but something didn't knock it completely out of the park. However, the food was not bad and the happy hour specials are decently priced. I think the most interesting thing I liked was the WARM olives. I didn't know what I was expecting. I usually eat cold olives from the refrigerator. But they were quite delicious. I felt like the kafta meatballs and cheese dish was very salty ( remember I also had olives). The overall experience was that I kind of felt that everything was too salty but I honestly think this might've been a reflection of what I ordered and not the entire menu. I think I would probably go back for the happy hour and try some other stuff in the near future. The place is worth a visit for experience and price.

Great flavors and service. Chicken and moussaka were full of flavor. Everything was exceptional.

This was an absolutely incredible experience! The cocktails were very inventive and so tasty,…read morethey're dangerous! The restaurant was featuring a special Parisian menu, as their first "stop" on their port trips around the world, and it did NOT disappoint! We started with the escargot and fries plate - not something I would have put together, but the escargot was so rich that the fries really helped to soak up the sauce! Also, look at all those snails!!!! So much, a great value. Then, I had the duck confit and it was absolutely delicious! The skin was crispy, while the meat inside was tender and fell off the bone. The wait staff was also extremely attentive and so friendly! Overall - an absolutely wonderful experience and I am happy to see where they go next!

Might sound scary for some people, but it won't be when all the flavors come together in that amazing bun. The wings for "Buck a Cluck" were outstanding. Perfect flavor, not too spicy and they are good size wings. If you like wings, you have to get these. If you like olives, they come warm so they are super flavorful. Perfect snack for a mini martini or any app. I can't wait to go back...they have live Jazz music on Tuesday and Friday nights. Better get a hotel!

A brunch experience you definitely want to arrive hungry to!!…read more I went to Sunday brunch at Sift bakery and I cannot wait to come back. You pay a flat rate for the food where it is a buffet style and you get the option to choose from a full breakfast (hot meal). Our waitress was so nice and was great about checking in on our dining experience. We definitely ate our money's worth! We started off at the pastry bar, I enjoyed the guava and cheese danishes & a mini chocolate croissant. Their spinach and cheese danish was also so tasty!! Then made our way through the charcuterie bar where there was an assortment of fine cheeses and meats, as well as the option for a fruit parfait which my friend really enjoyed. Finally, our favorite part of the buffet was the raw bar (which we could not stay away from). The oysters and clams were so fresh and cleaned exceptionally well- their mignonette was one of the best that I've had! The last 'course' of brunch was a dessert tower!!! I cannot wait to dine here again in the warmer months, this was epic.

The jury is still out…read more It includes a buffet of raw bar (oysters, shrimp and clams), a couple of side salads, cheeses, meats. The pastries and deserts that are included are underwhelming. Think smaller versions and less popular options from Sift bakery downstairs. Like, come on... you have beautiful baked goods for sale downstairs but you provide basic, small samples for the buffet? This was disappointing. We could order one a la carte entree for our main. I asked the server her recommendation between 2 dishes. I didn't end up eating my meal as it was not cooked as ordered and frankly, was not that good (avocado toast). If you are going to command a large price tag for brunch, it should feel special. This didn't quite. Finally the deserts were all just not that good. Each of the confections were pretty but sickeningly sweet. The other dessert options just didn't meet the mark. There are so many delicious offerings downstairs that are hard to choose from. I was blown away by how bad the desert choices we were given on our (5)? towers were. The service was ok. We were a party of 20. We had one server. I have worked in many restaurants. For a party of this size, 2 servers would have been more appropriate. I was bussing the table myself at one point. Of course the gratuity was guaranteed on a party this size, and the server knew this, but the service could have been better.

The Rigatoni ($28), a pasta with Bolognese in a cream emulsion, frozen in time due to its salt preservation technique, was indistinguishable in size from its appetizer counterparts. One example of such includes the Fried Calamari ($20), and the Fried Mozzarella ($15), both of which came under-seasoned and under-portioned in the vie for freshness and seashore "vibes", leading to a spectacular disgracement to its 'Mariner' title. It is unclear thus far into the lore who this restaurant is intended for. A romantic date where each party tries to look less hungry than the other? A local photographer trying to flaunt Shutterstock photos on its faux-wood bulkheads? Whoever the audience may be, it certainly does not include people looking for heartily assembled food, who also happen to be hungry. Of course, blame does not go without acknowledging my naivety of hoping a reliable cash cow in trigger-happy wealthy Mystic, would strive for improvement. Who am I to look for change where the money just isn't demanding any semblance of quality for what the ambience implies?

Waitstaff was very pleasant and service was fast. They are a beer garden and while they had a large tap list, it wasn't particularly interesting on the day we were there. I got a chicken schnitzel sandwich which was very tasty, but I was disappointed by the portion size for $16. The bun was your average grocery store burger bun size, and the piece of chicken was smaller than that. My husband's Reuben was good, but not particularly special. Overall, I'd come back again, but there are places in Mystic I'd rather go first. It's a 3.5 for me, but I'll round up for now.
