We had a fantastic experience eating here. They have a massive selection of draft beers that are probably the lowest prices I've seen anywhere. There's around 10 different beers that are $5 (or less!) for a 24oz mug The food is also excellent. Tater Tots with bacon and cheese were super delicious. The fried fish sandwich was made with fresh fish with a crispy beer batter and was not greasy at all. Chicken tenders were cooked perfectly. The kids meal is a great value with fries, drink and ice cream sandwich for around $10. The outside patio is comfortable and the fans keep it cool. Inside is similar to the last few restaurants in this space and that's a good thing. Service was friendly, fast and efficient. Our server John was great and very attentive. Great experience. We did call ahead and we're seated upon arrival. We had our choice of indoors and outdoors and we opted for outdoors. Our waitress was wonderful very knowledgeable about the food and knew the answers to the questions we asked she was attentive but not overwhelming. We both had the clam chowder which was very yummy and I had stuffy's. They were. I don't remember if it was two or three, but I could barely finish them. They were really good.!! my sister had the clam cakes that she also enjoyed. Sadly, no room for dessert. Tavern in 65 will be on our go to list from now on. read more

This is a Home Run. Replacing the badly named Thirsty Beaver, this is a major upgrade. They have a huge selection of draft beer and cans drinks, as well as cocktails. The food is phenomenal. I had the Portuguese Clam Pasta.. Little necks perfectly cooked and tender not rubbery. Awesome tasting broth from the class and onion, peppers, and chorizo gave this dish the perfect amount of spice. Served over linguine and I've found my new go to when I crave seafood. Appetizers are almost a meal in themselves, my favorite being the Tumbleweeds. The only holdover from the aforementioned establishment. My family had dinner here on a Saturday evening. Although it was busy, we were able to be seated right away. I started off with a strawberry daiquiri, which unfortunately tasted bad - straight up watery alcohol, no strawberry flavor or sweetness existed, so I had to swap it for a coconut mojito instead. For food, I just got the Nachos with chicken. The nachos were massive, flavorful and filling. I can't remember what everyone got, but Clam Cakes were shared and enjoyed. Service and atmosphere always great. I'm struggling with some of the salad dishes even though the options look really good. Maybe this picture I snapped of the Chicken Pear salad summarizes it best...iceberg lettuce (wilted) mixed in with the greens making it seem like they were running out of what should be a green leaf salad, with huge uneven cuts of red onion. Maybe I'm picky, but it just seemed like it was made at home in a hurry. Flavor was good with the raspberry vinaigrette. I have to say, the nachos were amazing and reminded me of the ones we used to make and serve at Marfaritavilke/Margarita in Mystic, but they use thinner chips here. It's so nice to have the Haversham feel good foods available again. I had the Beef Pot Pie special and it was amazing. I hope it becomes a permanent addition to the menu. My dining partners had a chef salad and a ball steak. The salad was fresh and delicious and the steak was cooked to perfection. We were lucky enough to have Maya as our waitperson. Professional and not once deterred by our indecisiveness. Maya is a big part of the 5 stars! If there was anything that was less than 5 stars - it would be the acoustics. However, we were there at the height of the dinner rush, the place was packed and we were seated next to family with young 'active' children. How disappointing! This is an ideal location and the restaurant itself is beautiful with multiple rooms, indoor and outdoor, with several seating options. Today's server was great. So much going for it ...except... the food. We started out with an order of Tumbleweeds. We were so happy to see the wispy onion treats on the menu but they were *way* over-seasoned. Too much salt and way too much paprika. Then my chicken ceasar wrap arrived. I thought it would be a safe bet. But whatever bottled dressing they used was nasty. I always ask for well-done fries but the ones I was served were burnt to a crisp. Overdone! Don ordered the chili and he said it was too sweet and tomato-y. Even the chips served with it were stale. Who was working the kitchen today? The only thing that might have been good was the flatbread of the day. It was a huge pizza and our friend said it was good, but we didn't try it. There were several good restaurants in this space starting with WB Codys and the Salted Goose but everything since hasn't been worth returning to. Overall, I have to say fair at best. Happy they were busy and they have made a good transition but the food is only fair. Lobster Mac bad 2 pieces of lobster and it was very overdone and expensive for the little lobster you get. My granddaughter had grilled cheese and they gave her 12 fries with half of them burned and poor display on the plate. My wife had seasoned swordfish that was just one small filet with three broccoli pieces and a small potato. My sister in law took two tries to get her calamari dinner to her. They gave her two other meals first. Averaging over $20 per entry is regular but it is still more of a pub than restaurant or tavern. Hopefully they will iron out service and lack of service issues l. Heard it was a five star so we tried but still working on it. Keep up the effort! I hope for better results soon read more

Great lunch at the Tavern! We were seated immediately by staff. The place is open and bright even on cloudy days. We opted for the pork BBQ and Reuben both served with fries. The fries were lukewarm and when I mentioned to server and said just an FYI to kitchen, she insisted we get replacement serving. I'm so glad I agreed because the fries were amazing! Such a breath of fresh air having Jay and his staff back in business and they haven't missed a beat since their days at the Haversham. The restaurant has such a fun and lively atmosphere, the staff is tremendous and attentive. I've enjoyed the fish and chips, the Cobb salad, the smash burger, the chicken bacon ranch sandwich and the turkey BLT wrap. The beer selection is really good too. Nothing beats polishing off your meal with a nice 25 oz beer. My new favorite place in town. read more

We had a great experience at Tavern 265! The teriyaki salmon was absolutely delicious, the nachos were huge and perfect for sharing, and the fish and chips were crispy, fresh, and cooked just right. The portions were generous, and the prices were very reasonable for the quality and amount of food. Maya was a fantastic server. Paid attention to detail and ensured we were happy with our meals. Showed up with water refills without us having to ask and checked back to make sure we had everything we needed. The food was excellent. We enjoyed a wonderful meal at Tavern 265 on Saturday. We arrived late afternoon and were seated immediately, but many were waiting on our way out, so plan ahead on a Saturday. The service was spectacular (kudos to Molly) and we ordered Tumbleweeds to start, followed by a buffalo chicken salad and salmon with asparagus. Instead of potato, I was able to order a side salad, which was pretty large for a side. I love that you can eat out with healthy choices. The salmon was cooked to perfection, btw. After all the virtuous salad eating, we shared a brownie sundae for dessert. The brownie was warm and the ice cream cold. Bliss. We purchased a gift card on the way out, because we know our son will enjoy this place as much as we did. read more
