Ambience: the exterior patio is absolute gorgeous. Large patio among beautiful landscaping of mature trees, seasonal flowers, roses, and a gazebo make for a very chill setting. There is ample shade or sun depending on your preference. Choose shade during the warmer season or cover at night under the large canvas circus tent which is a lovely option. The interior dining and bar area feels a little dark cramped and looks dated. Service: it varies. As this restaurant is open year round, which is rare in this area, the more seasoned servers during the summer months are better. Food: unfortunately we found it average at best. However, if you come for cocktails on the patio and ultra fresh local oysters and seafood, and stick to appetizers IMO are the optimum choice. Craft cocktails and local beers are a fair. Both the lobster bisque, which unfortunately was not piping hot when served, and the Fish & Chips were just OK. read more

Have heard bad reviews after the new owners took over, but my husband wanted to go for the buck a shucks... a disappointment right from the beginning when the bartender completely ignored us and then threw two menus at us finally never asking what drinks we wanted. After telling her while she was on the run that we wanted a plate of buck a shucks. She still did not ask us what drinks we wanted and we were sitting at the bar. Finally, I broke into the conversation she was having with the people next to us and said could we please get some beers over here and she said just hold on I'll be with you in a minute... that was enough for us that kind of rudeness from a bartender is unacceptable, we will not be back. And we were big customers of the sham before the change in ownership. read more

Interior was spacious but in need of updating and cleaning with broken chairs and some questionable looking condiment bottles. Service was accommodating and friendly to our larger party. The menu consists mostly of breaded, fried and "quick cook" dishes. Ordered the Grilled Salmon with side salad and seasonal vegetables. The Salmon seemed to have been poached and pan seared rather than grilled and generally lacking any flavor other than the oil it was cooked in. The vegetable was green beans which were quite undercooked and firm as agreed upon by the rest of the table who has also ordered the vegetables. This was my first time to The Haversham since the change of ownership. If no one told me it was under new management, I wouldn't have known - until the menu arrived. Also, there is some additional seating (booths) available in the bar area. Still classic bar-style / feel good foods available. I had the Philly Steak sandwich with waffle fries. It was a great choice. Our other dining partner had the Fish and Chips and it was gone before i could ask how it was. Another had a burger which was ordered as medium rare but came out medium (hence the 4 stars vs 5). We did not return it as the difference was subtle. The waiter did ask how our food was and we opted not to mention it. Overall, the portions were average, the prices were very good, the quality (taste) was also very good. What I loved the most was that although the place was packed, the acoustics were exceptional. We sat in the bar area and there was no need to lean in to converse. No shouting. Just your natural voice level was enough. To me - that's a huge win! read more

This venue has two spaces for you to consider hosting events in, I personally hosted my baby shower in the Haversham House. The planning team was fantastic - shout out to Isabella for being on top of all communications and ready day of with her team for some last minute adjustments. The food was FANTASTIC. I had high hopes for the new Haversham as they are under new management by the folks that own Maria's at the beach which I love. I was disappointed. We got take out which automatically lowers expectations but of 5 orders, we were missing 4 sides: 2 Cole slaw, 1 fries, and a Caesar salad. Pretty disappointing. Additionally, literally everything was oversalted, per everyone's taste buds. We ordered 2 cold and 1 hot lobster rolls, 1 stuffed shrimp, 1 pork cutlet, and 1 lobster bisque. The buns for the lobster rolls were nice but not grilled. The pork cutlet was covered with hot peppers, advertised for sure as cherry peppers, but if you don't like very spicey, avoid this entree. The Haversham has a good bar scene and may have good bar food but entrees are priced on the higher side and they need to get the salt and service issues under control! read more

Went to dinner with family to celebrate the first weekend of our summer. Our waiter Mike was nothing but amazing. As we expected a busy Sunday night, he made sure we had the best experience possible even with longer wait times for food. One of us substituted green beans for French fries with our entree, French Fries came, no Green Beans. Visited the HH on October 3rd, to try it out after ownership changed hands. We last visited the HH in January and had an amazingly HORRIBLE experience, you can find my earlier review. Was wanting and hoping for a positive experience and honestly it wasn't horrible this time, just disappointing. There were three of us, we sat at the bar, service was slow (place was slammed) but OK, ordered drinks which came as described and were fine. We then decided to try an appetizer and see if the food had improved. As they came in a three we ordered the Sooner Sliders. Food service was terribly slow. When the food arrived the plate looked as if someone just threw the ingredients at the plate, a total mess. The buns for the burgers were stale. The meat patties while tasty were (even for sliders) ridiculously smaller than the buns, the onions were hanging off the sides, the tops of the burgers were just randomly placed some on top or kind of or hanging off...... Where is the quality control person on the line??? How does a sloppy hot mess plate make it to the customer. We went in with so much hope and left wondering why we thought things would be different. Such a shame, maybe it will take time for the new owners to figure it out or maybe it will continue to a sham. read more

BRING BACK THE OLD OWNERS! This used to be our FAVORITE place for years. We went today and ordered two soups and sandwiches, and it took over 45 minutes for just our bowls of chili, which was average at best. After over an hour, we told the bartender to cancel our sandwiches. They said oh but they're ready. So we said we will take them to go. It took still another 15 minutes to bring them out to go. The bacon on the club didn't even look cooked. The chicken Cesar wrap was falling apart and not even good. The sandwiches sucked. It was a Friday of a long weekend. A World Cup game had just ended. The wait staff was terribly overwhelmed. We waited an hour for our food and it came out cold. We ate some with our hands since we weren't given silverware. We sent the food back to be reheated. They did comp us our meal. We have been coming to The Haversham for 13 years. It has been our usual go-to place for our family and friends. The last few months things have gone downhill. Tonight was the last straw. Our party of 3 arrived at 6:30 on a Sunday. The parking lot was only half full. Asked if we had reservations- we did not - so they seated us outside which was fine because it was a nice evening. The waitress was very attentive however it took 30 minutes for our drinks to arrive. It took another hour to get our one appetizer which arrived with no silverware/plates/napkins. We asked for those but they never arrived. As our appetizer was getting cold I had to go inside to ask for silverware/plates/napkins. Two hours in, we were still waiting for our dinners and our glasses were empty. People who arrived after us started to complain. When the manager came out we also spoke with her about the long wait times and missing items. She apologized but offered no explanations. By the time our dinners arrived, one item was missing and another drink did not arrive. By this time, we sat in the dark getting bitten by mosquitoes. We had to go inside to track someone down to pay. The waitress did the best she could do but we will never recommend The Haversham to anyone and we will not be back. Giving it one star because the food was good once it finally arrived. The new owners made some nice renovations but they missed the mark completely on service and hospitality. Decided to give the Haversham a shot with new ownership. We sat at the bar which had always been our go to spot. Bartenders were quick and attentive, beer was cold. Really liked that they added booths to parts of the bar. The randomly placed tables for two in the hall from the hostess station and one on the TV wall just did not fit into the atmosphere of the place. While the steak quesadilla and accompanied sides were good, and my husband's Big Fish sandwich was just right, the sweet potato fries were limp, not crispy. He really liked the cole slaw. My one overall disappointment was the so-so menu. Very limited and disappointing compared to the previous owners menu. read more

Solid 4.5, restaurant off the main road, servers were great, im not a fan of turkey so they made me a chicken club instead of a turkey club and it was the bomb, wife ordered a burger medium and thats how it came out. My husband and I went to dinner there 2/27. We ordered fish dinners, my side included sweet potatoes fries. I shook malt vinegar on bit into one. I immediately began coughing, gagging and choking. My husband said later he thought I was having a convulsion. The waitress came over to the table. My distress was obvious and she was concerned. When I could talk I tried to describe the burning, horrific taste I experienced. She was appropriately apologetic. I expressed I didn't know if it was something the fries had been cooked in or the malt vinegar. I said I think all of the vinegar should be taken off the tables and the fries be tested, particularly because there were small children at other tables. Absolutely no movement any where to take vinegar away. Shortly after the manager made his table rounds. I said I am the French fry lady. He looked at me blankly. NO ONE had mentioned the incident. He apologized and said he would look into it. STILL no movement to remove the vinegar bottles. We were not drinking alcohol, but there was no offer of a cocktail or desert or deduction from bill. Just good bye. We live in the area and had eaten there many times in the past. We were disappointed in the food, regardless of the burning choking experience, as well as the very poor customer care, not only for us, but everyone who was about to pour malt vinegar on there iffy sweet potatoes fries!! Awful, just awful! had a small group (6) for a birthday. Waiter seemed to have no experience. We had to ask for plates, utensils and napkins. put our orders in and decided to get appetizers while we waited. One order was cold and the other was way overcooked and greasy. Waited well over an hour for our meals as others that came in a lot of time after us were served their dinners??? When our meals finally came, one order was hot the others were overcooked, greasy and cold. Been here 4 times this year, one was a good meal, it was early April in the middle of the day. Other 2 times the meals were not good. We decided to give it one more try. No bueno. It seemed to be staffed by young inexperienced staff. Sorry to say we're all set with this place. Had an awesome meal at The Haversham! The fish sandwich was absolutely amazing anmd crispy, fresh, and full of flavor. Their cole slaw might be my new favorite it was perfectly creamy with the right crunch. Drinks? Totally on point. And the service? A solid ten. Friendly, fast, and welcoming from start to finish. Highly recommend if you're in the area! We went there after the sandcastle competition and glad we did. They were busy because of a bridal shower but the bar area was great. read more

Have visited this restaurant on and off for several years. Very disappointed with the food today. Our server was very pleasant and attentive. We ordered clam chowder, whole belly clams, fish and chips, and a Caesar salad. My beer was the best item served. Chowder was average, fish and chips were all batter which was not fully cooked, and the clams overcooked!( $35.99) 6 on the plate with fries and small Cole slaw. This was a buffet event. 3 servers stationed at the buffet. Two were dressed in server attire, man in middle was in a shirt and jeans. Server #3 kept flipping his hair across his face repeatedly. The food was abysmal. Although being in hot trays, the food was cold. Pasta dish was bland, meat dish was over spiced and included more veggies than meat. Best was the roasted potatoes. Dessert was five star because the guests provided their own. Bar service was understaffed and the server unfamiliar with the beverage selections and served not what was asked.
