The bar does not care about safety. My friend was drugged there. We attempted to contact them twice to get help to start filing a police report. On the second call a bartender answered and refused to provide the managers name, a way to contact the manager, or information about the bartender on shift. They accused me of blaming the bartender, which I clarified multiple times I did not. They hung up because they were too busy. I called on a week day around noon, so it is unlikely they were busy as on weekends there is barely anyone there. I had to make a post on Facebook to be acknowledged by the owner. When the post was made the official bar account blamed my friend and told her to take accountability and watch her drink. The post got attention of the local community and 5 other women have come forward saying they had a similar experience. My friend is traumatized by the way they chose to handle the situation. Don't drink here, if something happens they will blame you and refuse to assist in any manner. Food is disgusting and the whole place smells like a septic leak, you aren't missing much by avoiding this place. Keep yourself safe. read more

don't order from this restaurant!! i placed an order through doordash, the wait was 1.5 hours and my order was partially removed. why would a restaurant have something on the menu and not be able to fulfill the order?? terrible! Dive, Dive, Dive In an area filled with pretentious places and no good bars, there's Danny's. It's like a gem that you didn't see coming. A dark dive bar where you can watch a game or hit the jukebox. Great deals on beers and drinks and you can order food from the outside and bring it in. The Patrons were a great crew that even offered us pizza that they ordered. We'll definitely be back to Danny's, a Westerly institution. Thanks read more

It's a dive bar.......with Golden Tee! What more can you ask for?!?! We came here after visiting the Malted Barley (Awesome) and wanted to hang out at a dive bar keeping up with our tradition! We walked in around 8ish and were given some glaring stares by the regulars but the atmosphere livened up a great deal around 930-10. They have a pool table, shuffle board, and of course Golden Tee. It gets a bit crowded but prices are reasonable and the bartenders are awesome. read more

Remember the old Buick commercial: "This isn't your father's Buick"? Well Danny's may well be your father's bar. This is what made bars, bars in years gone by. Good company, good people, good drinks and enough political incorrectness to fill a boatload of your father's Buicks. They recently added a surprisingly expanded menu so you can fill your belly with something while you're here. There's shuffleboard and pool, lots of TV's turned to whatever sports is on that day and the bartender will accommodate you if you want to catch the news or something else, as long as the place is not to packed. The best part is the people, though. You want to start an argument about the Sox, Yanks, Giants or Pats, this is the place for you. Stay away from Denver however as the manager is partial to the Broncos. No Wi-Fi. No cell phone charging stations. No hot "hors d'oeuvres" at 4PM. Just a good, old fashioned and well run neighborhood bar. If you have a thin skin or are easily offended, stick with Applebee's or Outback. Danny's is a real bar for real people who want to have a good time. Highly recommended. Update: Sadly, being an old neighborhood bar means that from time to time one of the "regulars" moves on to that bar in the sky. This happened recently with our friend Jimmy. Danny's stepped up to the plate and hit it out of the park. After the memorial, people went back to Danny's and Jimmy was sent off in style because that's what friends do. Very classy. The manager had extra bartenders, arranged the food and made sure everything was done with dignity and care. Jimmy would have loved every minute of it. New Year's Eve. They close at 12:20 unexpectedly. After all of the malted barley closed because of a fire alarm. Full bar. All of a sudden Danny's decides to close after serving 1/3 of the bar. Terrible, rude service. First time Rhode Island-er. Unimpressed. read more
