The restaurant wasn't crowded at all since its relatively expensive compared to the diner next door. But this restaurant did not disappoint. The staff was welcoming and we seated quickly. I have younger kids, 4 and 6. I really appreciate it when the restaurant make accommodations for young kids by providing coloring sheets and crayons, definitely helps them pass the time faster since they can grow restless waiting for the food to come out. The food here was good and I would definitely come back here if I were in the area.

Very lovely dinner. Our server was engaging and connected with us, was very sensitive about our party's gluten free sensitivity. The restaurant is very classy, perfect for a date night or even a large group the food was outstanding, personally- one of the best pork chops I have ever had, so tender and juicy. The banana pepper sauce is a great accompaniment. The wine list was slim, but I enjoyed my Italian glass. There are a lot of good options in Mystic, but I was impressed with this one, I would happily return.

Waiter Cory. Make reservations, they get busy quickly. Prompt greeting, comfortable seating. The restaurant can easily handle large groups and private parties. The decor is a bit romantic; some spots give a little more privacy. Antique tin ceilings with classic chandeliers. Circular bar, set aside from the main dining room. There is alfresco seating. The menu is Italian American style. Excellent food prep and presentation. I had the pappardelle bolognese - perfect. The noodles tasted freshly made and cooked al dente, the meat sauce thick and perfectly seasoned. Initially, the portion looked like I could finish it. It's really a lot more than it looks, two people could share it and both would walk away satisfied. My companion had the Seafood Fra Diavolo. Every ingredient was cooked perfectly. No rubbery calamari, chewy shrimp, over or undercooked pasta. Possibly the best one we've ever had in any Italian American restaurant in the United States . Next time I'm near Mystic, I will be dining there again!

    Rigatoni Corsi (Takeout)

My friend and I grabbed take out from Andiamo on a Saturday night. We ordered a couple items to pick up for take out and it was ready in only 20 minutes. We got and shared the SHRIMP SCAMPI and RIGATONI CORSI. The SHRIMP SCAMPI portion was a bit smaller but flavor was tasty and the shrimp was well cooked. The main issue was that it was so greasy. After I finished the item, there was a whole layer of grease on the bottom of the box. The RIGATONI CORSI portion though was huge! Flavor was great and the noodles were perfectly cooked. All in all, a great dinner option!

As always, a warm welcome, great service, and delicious food with crazy large portions! I went with a friend to have a relaxing dinner and catch up on life. We decided we both wanted Italian food so we headed over to Mystic to one of my favorites. We started with two Aperol Spritz from the happy hour menu at $8 each. They were a perfect light refreshment after a few very hot and humid days. We seriously debated the burrata salad, but I already had my mind made up on the chicken parm and knowing it's huge and delicious, I decided to pass. I am gluten free celiac, and our server (Angela) was great in communicating the precautions the kitchen took to ensure that my meal was safe and also the caveats that it is not a gluten free kitchen. I asked for my gf pasta to be cooked al dente and it was perfect! The chicken parm is coated in gf breadcrumbs and is crisped to perfection. My friend ordered the same but with regular pasta. She was amazed at how good the cutlet was. We both chose the vodka sauce over the regular marinara and it was soooo good. I am never big on a lot of sauce, but wanted a bit more for my chicken, especially knowing I would be reheating my leftovers. Delicious meal, excellent service and leftovers I couldn't wait to eat the next day.

Very nice restaurant and the food is great! I've tried the alfredo, chicken parmesan, spaghetti and meatballs, pasta with vodka sauce, cacio e pepe, ceaser salad and several of the cocktails and they've all been great. The bombolini dessert is phenomenal. Service is usually very good as well. Very nice spot right across from mystic village.

Was very very pleasantly surprised, picked this restaurant randomly and it's great! Everything we got was delicious and huge portions. The restaurant is very pretty especially the bar area. Our service was also great we had a really nice waiter. I've recommended this spot multiple times now it was terrific.

If I could give Andiamo six stars I would. My sister and I are visiting Mystic for the weekend and this has been the best food we've had here so far. We came on a Saturday night around 8 and it was pretty busy, but they seated us 2 right away. The bar is beautiful and the decor is classy and clean. Our waitress, Paige, came over quickly and she was so sweet! She took our drink order right away and offered us some bread. The bread and butter they provide is hard to stop eating because it is so good, my lord. I ordered a drink (Hugh's ??) with prosecco, gin, lemon, and elderflower - I enjoyed it, a little tart but it was yummy. For food, I got the shrimp scampi. This was some of the best I've had, and I order this plate everywhere. It was so flavorful, the shrimp were cooked perfectly, and it was buttery but not too heavy. Divine. My sister ordered spaghetti and meatballs, but without any cheese on top (she has a weird aversion, don't ask lol) and the plate did come out - looking delicious tbh - with cheese. She asked if they could remake it and I was surprised to find no one batted an eye. They brought a new dish out within ~7 minutes, steaming and fresh, and my sister loved it. I think what stood out to me, other than the relaxed vibe and amazing food, was how kind the staff were. We got good impressions from every single staff member we interacted with, which is sort of rare these days. I would go out of my way to come here again!!

    1. Takes reservations 2. Across from Old Mystic Village (easy access on and off the highway) 3. Upscale interior design. Very Modern Italian Bistro style. High top and low top tables. A beautiful large bar. 4. Hughie's Love Salad (you have to get beyond the name) is a large salad. Enough to serve 4/5 people to kick off a meal. Plenty of salami and cheese! Heavy handed with the dressing (I like that.) But...the dressing was too much oil and missing as much flavor as I want salad to have. My husband loved this salad! 5. The meatballs. They are good, not great. The sauce was ok. The ricotta was tasty and made the meatballs even better. 6. The chicken parm fell flat. Lacked flavor. Does it need Garlic? or Italian seasoning? Also, I enjoy my chicken parm to have some crisp to it. This did not. Overall Andiamo has a great location and is a super nice environment. It's overpriced in my opinion for what they are pumping out. I would suggest sticking to drinks and apps here.

Oh my word! After driving 500 miles I pulled into this place looking to wind down for the last hour of my drive - what a find! Polenta cubes in hot honey - Brilliant and delicious! Seared scallops were great (though a little on small side) and fresh spinach w fresh garlic. Excellent service! 100%

I have been here now 4 times in the last month. I am in love. However I wasn't a fan of the pork chops. I actually complained and they were so nice and took it back. They were so professional about it and just made me continue to love this place more.

That's a full size adult penne portion size. (!!??)

Ordered takeout from Andiamo last night. Felt completely ripped off! The Love salad has changed. The dressing is different, thick and gloopy. It was $19. And an entrée order of adult penne with butter was $12 and the container was not even half filled. When I went to pick it up, there was an employee at the takeout counter. I gave them our last name and he turned around and ran away. A minute later, another employee walked up and asked if I'd been helped. I gave our last name again. She handed me the bag and said is this the right order? I should've known when there there's only ONE bag at the takeout, the quality has gone downhill. I am a local. I will never return here again. For $70, I we got a disappointing salad, a tiny portion of plain pasta and to be fair, very good Arancini.

The decor is gorgeous, blending Mediterranean-inspired blue tiling with warm mustard seating and rustic wood accents. The lighting is soft and inviting, and the layout feels spacious yet intimate. It's a beautifully designed space that sets the perfect mood for a great meal. The bar area is beautiful and full of character! I love the mix of the rustic whitewashed wood front and the intricate tile work. The tiered ice display filled with Limoncello and fresh lemons adds such a fun, refreshing touch, and the giant floral centerpiece is stunning. It's a bright, lively spot that's perfect for grabbing a drink. If you prefer dining al fresco, there's a patio and the porch space has a fantastic atmosphere. It feels bright and cheerful thanks to the lively pink flower baskets and the bold blue outdoor furniture. Because the deck is fully covered, you get plenty of shade while still being right next to the walkway. It's a very cute, well-maintained exterior that adds to the overall appeal of the place. The service here is awesome! Our waitress was incredibly sweet and hospitable, and she completely understood that we were on a tight schedule with a bus tour. She did an amazing job of being attentive and accommodating without ever making us feel rushed. The food rolled out in perfectly timed layers, and she even offered to refresh our drinks before we could even ask. I initially thought the garlic bread was a bit pricey but was totally worth $12. The focaccia bread was nicely toasted and seasoned with herb butter and four cheese fonduta. Next was the fried calamari with cherry and banana peppers. The calamari was delicious, seasoned perfectly and was a combination of rings and tentacles. Those who enjoy banana peppers might enjoy that they are lightly fried too resemble the calamari, however I'm not the biggest fan and probably should have asked them to hold them. With them being breaded the same as the calamari is difficult to tell them a part so when your taste buds are gearing up for a bite of calamari and instead you bite into a pepper or can be slightly disappointing. For $19 I would prefer more calamari and less peppers. The salads are very good here too. The Roasted Garlic Caesar features a classic Caesar dressing enhanced with a bright hint of lemon and topped with crunchy breadcrumbs. I added salmon as my protein choice, which was cooked beautifully and paired perfectly with the savory, garlicky flavor profile of the salad. This made for a filling and flavorful meal. Tagliatelle - Outstanding homemade pasta and sauce. The tender, shredded short rib ragu is perfectly tossed with fresh noodles. It has an ideal noodle-to-sauce ratio and avoids being overly rich or heavy. A deeply comforting, cohesive dish topped beautifully with parmigiana. Also enjoyed the lobster roll which was served warm with butter on a perfectly toasted brioche bun, accompanied by a side of fries. The rich, melted butter beautifully complemented the sweet lobster meat, and the brioche added a wonderful touch of sweetness and crunch. Really glad that my bus tour stopped here. I'll definitely return and highly recommend!

I preferred the cocktail sauce and horseradish provided. The mussels came in a coconut lemongrass broth with chili, cilantro, and lime. These were some of the freshest mussels I had in a while. It was noticeable to me from the feel and taste. The coconut lemongrass broth was a nice compliment and very flavorful. The burger was a quarter pound smash patty with cheddar cheese, umami mayo, lettuce, pickles, and white onion. This was cooked ideally to a medium-medium rare temperature. The bread was the key as it held the toppings and was of good ratio. The pickle was nicely folded and placed where it was not hanging off the burger. It was a little sweet, but not a big deal. I found the atmosphere very comforting with families having a great time talking and enjoying meals. Their was a line for people to get in which is always a good sign. My table had ordered pizza, wings, drinks. Since I came late I ordered a Salad and a bowl of clam chowder. When the pizza came it was a good size pizza one was a meat lovers and the other was pepperoni. By the time I got my order they had almost killed the first pizza and the meat lovers was going down for the count. I was able to get two slices but I had to hit it quick. The pizza was a work of art. Rich thick flavor sauce that you can tell was freshly made with home ingredients that made me think they actually pick up the vegetables that very second to make this fresh hot pizza. The bite on the slice was juicy but not oily like some pizza. My only negative was that I could not get another slice to save my life. My salad was a Caesar Salad that was so big. I shared it with my wife and sister in law. They enjoyed it. that bowl it came it was almost as big as the table. We were having an issue because the pizza's and the other dishes we had ordered made space on the table very limited. My star of my meal was the Clam Chowder. OMG. She handed us menus and the daily specials and took our drink order. Upon her return to our table she went over the daily specials asked if we had any questions and if we knew what we wanted or if we needed more time. We both ordered unsweetened ice teas as we had a 2 hour drive back home. My wife and I both enjoyed a delicious bowl of New England Clam Chowder. It was creamy, rich and chock full of clams and not that pasty style you get in so many places. I ordered 6 oysters on the half shell along with 6 littlenecks on the half shell. They were very fresh, plump, juicy and tasted like the sea. I can live off these 2 mollusks. My wife ordered a Harvest Grain Bowl. It was loaded with crispy Brussel sprouts, butternut squash, roasted chickpeas, red onions, heirloom carrots, arugula, dried cranberries, toasted almonds, farro, with an apple cider vinaigrette. She loved it!!! Me being a seafood nut ordered Seafood Ambrosia. YUM, YUM & YUM!!!. It was a combination of cod, shrimp, scallops, crab, and seafood stuffing baked it an individual cast iron frying pan. It was buttery, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious. It came with a side Mystic Salad that included artisan greens, radicchio, carrots, red onion, cucumbers, celery, and a honey balsamic vinaigrette. I recommend making a reservation for both lunch and dinner as they are one of the hottest restaurants in Mystic (especially during warmer months). If you have never been here I highly recommend giving it a try, I'm sure you will be as happy and as satisfied as I have always been with S & P.

Let me start by saying the ambiance is wonderful. The place is on the water. Too bad the food…read moredidn't match the ambiance. Went here with my family this year on the Tuesday after Mother's Day and I had hyped the place up based on my wonderful experience last year. I was thoroughly disappointed with the menu selections and the food. The waiter told me they change out their menu from time to time. I sure wish they hadn't because the lump crab dip was delicious but the replacement was spinach and artichoke dip. The artichokes were not blended they were chunks and it was not in a creamy sauce but dry with shredded Parmesan cheese over the top. It was awful. I didn't even eat it. I also ordered the crab cake which wasn't good. Last time I had the crab cake, it was made with chuncks of crabmeat. This time it was shredded crabmeat and a lot of breadcrumbs. My son's girlfriend and my husband both ordered mussels and they each said they were okay. My husband also ordered what we call a crab imperial dish containing different kinds of shellfish, bread crumbs, cream sauce and cheese. Our son ordered a crispy fried chicken sandwich and he said it was delicious. I tried it and it was so good. The chicken was fried light and with tasty Chilean sauce on it.
