Very pleased with the food and service at Par 4. The food was served "HOT" like it should be. We were happy with the presentation of the meal(s) and it was delicious.. My husband and I do not have BIG appetites so they divided our meal for us. We definitely did give the server a more than adequate gratuity for that extra service. All orders were delivered in a timely fashion and served piping hot( except for the salads, of course. ) I'd mightily recommend the Gorgonzola Pear and walnut Pizza, especially if you're pining away for a little something sweet for Supper. I went here for a work lunch and I had a pretty good experience! The service was really good, we had people join as they showed up and as soon as someone new arrived at the table, someone was over to ask them for their beverage order. Our food also arrived very quickly after ordering and the view of the golf course was lovely. I got the spicy chicken wrap and it was only okay, it was a little on the drier side and the tortilla seemed a little stale. It was peeling kind of strangely and felt hard. The fries were good, though. It was a still a good experience, there was a lot of seating available so I highly recommend for larger groups. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem. We were there on a Monday for lunch. We were hungry and looking for a new spot. Our party of 4 was definitely not disappointed on either point. My former neighbors from Tormberg have been coming for years and now I know why in one word: AWESOME! The craft beer selection was extensive, different and very good. My wife had the fish and chips which were large portions of flaky and very hot cod. It was steamy hot. She loved her plate. My friend ordered ordered a Cuban sandwich which he really liked. It looked good but I didn't have the heart that it didn't look very authentic. Why mess with a friend who is happy with his meal? I had a buffalo chicken wrap that was very stuffed and definitely messy. I was a bit disappointed even though it was good. I would order differently next time. I can't rememberer what the fourth sandwich was but the picture shows it looked good. Our service was excellent by a very lovely waitress Anna. Honestly the drinks are cheap but the service is terrible. If you want someone to roll their eyes at you for ordering a drink then go for it. I come here because it's near my work for happy hour, but honestly I am going to do whatever I can to switch to anywhere else. The bar tenders are in general are very slow and rude. The waitstaff for the tables are hit or miss as far as how fast they'll come, but they are generally nice. It's mostly the bar service that needs new staff. read more

We came here for their steak for my boyfriend's birthday for steak. We haven't dined indoors since COVID. They do not have a website so you cannot view the menu but you can find pictures online. Based on the pictures we thought they still had steak on the menu but when we arrived we found no steak on the menu. This is very much a neighborhood place we're people can come hang out and enjoy a good meal. Everything came out hot and fresh. I ordered the pastrami sandwich special and unexpectedly came with BBQ sauce , fried onion rings, and coleslaw which is not what I think of for a pastrami sandwich. Yum! Word on the street is Par Four serves an out of this world apple crisp that can feed a whole army. But we made the mistake of ordering nachos before we could contemplate dessert. And lucky for us, it was no mistake at all since the nachos are delicious. It's beany and cheesy and meaty and so big it alone would qualify as a meal for two. It's definitely an older crowd, at least during lunch time. I have no idea what their dinner crowd is like, but there's a stocked bar, a happy hour between 3-6 ($1 Coors Light drafts and 1/2 price appetizers) and plenty of TVs for sports viewing. Being in close proximity to Pfizer and Electric Boat, it's also a nice option of employees like us to have lunch off-site, which is exactly why we were there. The hand-written menu is fairly extensive with salads, sandwiches, wraps, seafood, pasta dishes and pizza. I ordered the honey mustard chicken wrap and was pleased the the crispy pieces of chicken and the sweet, tangy mustard. Eyeing my cohorts' meals, their salads looked leafy and fresh. If you opt for a salad with either the teriyaki chicken or buffalo chicken, be prepared for two separate meals. Out comes your salad in a bowl, and your side protein is big enough to be a whole appetizer. None of the ladies were able to finish it. There's a couple's deal on weeknights - two entrees and a bottle of white wine for $25. They only offer a select amount of entrees, and you only have one choice for wine, but it's still not too shabby if you're counting your pennies. read more

The food was great, but the service was slow. Initially it took our server 10 minutes to greet us and get a drink order. It then took another 15 minutes for an appetizer, then an additional 30 minutes for four salads. Throughout the hour, our server came by twice. We've been long time customers of Par4. Their food has always been good quality. But they need to reinvest in their business. The place is rundown. The main entrance is through the back door next to the dumpster. Not very inviting. Bathrooms need updating too. Wait staff is so-so, depening on who you get. Great 19th hole stop after a round at Shennecossett. Menu is large and typical tavern style, with a good number of daily specials. The food is uniformly excellent and portions large. There's a decent bar and some nice views if you want to sit along the outer glass of the classic old clubhouse. Frankly, the restaurant is what keeps us coming back to Shenny, as the course and clubhouse have otherwise seen better days. read more

The inside needs a facelift and the service is really lacking. They forgot to put our complete order in and started vacuuming while we were eating! We could not hear over it to have a conversation. I was looking for a place that I could go to watch my favorite football team and also enjoy a good meal. An acquaintance of mine from the Mystic area recommended Par Four. I'm so glad I found this place! They had an extensive menu, a large bar, a dining area and tons of large flat screens to watch all of the games. I enjoyed the selection of food and thought the reuben I ordered was pretty good. They also have a large selection of desserts. The prices were very reasonable and everyone really seemed to enjoy everything they ordered. This isn't just a "bar food" type of place. There was also a great friendly atmosphere and everyone was very nice to me despite the fact that I was wearing a jersey that wasn't from New England or NY. One customer noticed that he had a better view of my game where he was sitting at the bar and offered to switch seats with me. The bartender, Kerry, made me feel so welcome. She never missed a beat while getting everyones drinks/food and she somehow did all of this while talking to all of the customers. The other thing I liked was that there was plenty of room in the dining area for families to enjoy a meal and the game. Some places with a bar would not be appropriate for families but the crowd here felt like a bunch of nice neighbors. I even made friends with some people who were cheering for the opposite team. Overall I had a great time at Par Four and can't wait to get back for another game. read more
