Came here for dinner after our first choice fell flat. We sat at the bar, which is usually something we like to do when checking out a place for the first time. It so happened that they were just starting their annual Oktoberfest menu, which was a bunch of traditional German favorites. Well, ding ding ding! We have a winner! Spaten on tap and schnitzel? Oh yeah. The bartender was very personable, and took good care of us. We started with some Asian pancake app which was excellent, and then on to Oktoberfest! I of course had the pork schnitzel, with mashed potatoes and broccoli. She had the sauerbraten which was served with spaetzle and red cabbage. Both dishes were superb, but my schnitzel was sublime. So tender but crispy. They do have German mustard if you ask too. This and a couple of Spatens and my lovely wife's companionship, what a meal. I went overboard and ordered the German chocolate cake for dessert. That was excellent too, as was the strong hot coffee. We returned to Noah's at lunchtime for the first time post pandemic. We were so glad to be reacquainted with one of our long time favorite spots! My husband got the clear clam chowder and a wonderful huge Reuben sandwich with perfect French fries. I got a delicious Messy Dan burger (gotta love that name!) but I skipped the bun and upgraded from fries to a delicious side salad. The burger was delicious with a great sauce, cheddar cheese and crispy but thick bacon. We were too full for dessert but they really tempted us with some beautiful choices. The new outdoor seating was a welcome surprise. Noah's is doing a great job remaining a timeless lovely spot in the always lovely Stonington Borough. read more

Had lunch with my family following my mother's funeral and it was, as usual, excellent. Oysters, salads, and more. I've been dining here since it opened in late 1970's and never had a bad meal or bad service. I do however miss the local artist shows that M. The outside mural says "Nor'easter Diner" but the true name of this restaurant really is Noah's. That's because the sign is carried over from the 2014 movie Great Hope Springs starring Merryl Streep. The movie was filmed at this restaurant. I like Noah's restaurant slightly better than the Water Street Cafe. Noah's is a little more slower paced, it has more elbow room, and it has slightly better lighting than the Water Street Cafe (why is the WSC so damn dark?). Also I like the fact that Noah's bar section is separate from its restaurant section next door. Lastly it's name is just cool.... Noah's. My plate of Stonington flounder fish was very good. No complaints whatsoever. Service was fine too. Prices are OK, and with this restaurant being located in the pricey Stonnington borough I suppose the prices could be worst. Trying to explore what's best in the area and ended up here for lunch on a Saturday. Impressive selection for specials as well as many selections for normal menu. Ordered Korean green onion pancakes, lettuce bulgogi, scallop roll special and salmon special. The salmon special came with a Parmesan risotto that was very underwhelming. Not sure if it was risotto cooked incorrectly or rice with cheese but that's why this isn't 4*. Seemed to be a large wine list and the sangria was fantastic. We will definitely be back! read more

This is a local landmark. Great reputation and the reviews are all good indicators of what to expect. Its older, the wat staff is fun and friendly and the menu is varied. We were running to meet friends at a local vineyard and we ran in hoping we did nto have a long wait - we didn't wait - we went to the bar - wish we had time ti hang, enjoy the coffee and the food! This was brunch time My wife's burger was super, tasty moist with the best home fries she has says she ever has had and my clam chowder, clear broth, was one of the best I have had - more clams please!!! Went here for Sunday brunch and it was so busy that we opted to sit at the bar. Glad we did that since the people waiting in front of us had just been seated not to long after our food came out. Ordered the 3 egg omelette and breakfast baguette. For my omelette, I did ask for egg whites, which they were able to accommodate. I found the eggs a little runny because of, what I thought, was a little too much tomatoes and a little too much butter on the english muffin which saturated the plate. The home fries were delicious. The breakfast baguette was delicious and I think I would have gone for that or the pancakes instead. I did enjoy the company at the bar and the bartender. We were from out of town and stopped in to get breakfast before we left town. Not knowing the area we did not know anything about Noah's. We walked in and asked the wait for a table and the host was a complete asshole and basically told us to fuck off if we didn't call ahead. If I'm ever in the area again I will never go to this place and if any friends are visiting the area I will make sure they stay away. read more

It's a good spot to go with families and groups. I loved the big windows that let in lots of natural light and the diverse crowd of brunchers. The hostess acknowledged us quickly and we sat right down. It was busy with a short waiting list on a Sunday morning. They have a fairly large brunch / breakfast menu with specials. I had the scallops on arugula with Asian slaw, I can't say it was memorable but it was ok, a bit over priced at 20 dollars. Restaurant located on Water Street in small town in Stonington. Very clean, welcoming atmosphere. Waitress was polite, attentive and offered us as options a melon to share and bloody Mary's. The melon was fair but the bloody was off the charts good. Celery. Olives and just the right spice. Breakfast at our table included omelet specials that were perfectly prepared. Bacon was fantastic. Thick, crisp and very flavorful. Potatoes were made fresh with just the right amount of crispness on the outside and warm perfectly prepared inside. Very good meal. You can't go wrong. read more

This place is definitely a nice brunch spot. Theres no doubt the food is quality and better than a run of of the mill breakfast you might find elsewhere. With that being said it is a little pricey, however. I suppose it is what you would expect to pay in a quaint CT town, though. I got the benedict. It was good but I was not crazy about the brioche bread it came with vs a traditional english muffin. My friends' breakfasts all looked great as well. We were disappointed to learn that they do not serve alcohol for brunch until 11 on weekends due to state law. As part of Mystic Restaurant Week we decided to visit this restaurant because it advertised on its website that it served lunch from 11:30 am - 5:00 pm. They even had a sidewalk sign advertising their lunch hours. When we walked in we were informed that we had to eat in the pub section. When I asked to see the lunch menu for restaurant week we were informed that lunch is only served until 3 pm (it was 4 pm). I told the server that I was disappointed. After he tried to take our order I informed him that it was on Noah's website and advertised outside. He then conceded to ask the kitchen staff - all with an attitude. When he returned he dropped the lunch restaurant week menu in front of my wife and huffed away. He served the meal without saying anything, and refilled my water glass (after I went to the bar to request more water) but did not offer to refill my wife's half-empty glass. He got better minutes before the bill had to be paid. He was so bad it was actually entertaining trying to guess what else he could do wrong. Meanwhile the other staff seemed very friendly and pleasant. The scallop salad and meat bowl were very tasty and unique. We love the food but do not plan on returning. read more

Have been stopping here for a bite for many years -- at times somewhat reluctantly and often en route to Newport. Consistency this place has had: Very nice and enjoyable pub ambiance, very good service, and very mediocre food. Food portions are small, prices push up whenever possible, and food quality is meh. A "local joint" feel this place certainly has, but some of the patrons are clearly not locals... So: If you're looking to chill with a pint of ale, go for it! The restaurant is cute. The service was friendly. The food was just OK it was just OK. I started with the peace soup and sausage my companion had the muscles. The muscles were excellent we're excellent the peace soup OK for entrees I had add the fettuccine with pesto is nini with pesto and Korean beef. The flavors were outstanding. However the dish was cold. My guest Had the swordfish. It was overcooked and dry. We shared the bread pudding for dessert. Very large portit's very large portion but again Is quite dry and overcooked. We will not head back to this restaurant. read more

After recently staying in Stonington for a romantic weekend getaway, my boyfriend and I decided to stop in here for brunch on Sunday morning. Here's our visit: I'd offer a bit of advice by telling you to park across the street in a public lot, located behind residential houses (harborside). Parking is tricky on this one way street so rather than finding a spot by driving around, save yourself the trouble and park here. We briefly waited in their little entrance area and chatted up another lovely couple waiting just ahead of us. Everyone was all smiles and the wait moved quickly. I had expected the dining area to be rather small upon entering however, we were seated in a beautiful and airy dining room off to the right. Plenty of seating and all tables were full. Our waitress immediately came over and was SO friendly. She brought back water and delicious hot coffee. Why do warm, cozy mugs make coffee taste better? I digress. My boyfriend ordered an omelet, I went for the quiche of the day - scallions, ham and colby jack cheese. Just about 10 minutes later, our food arrived. It was glorious - truly beautiful and appetizing. Everything looked (and tasted) SO fresh. Spying on other tables, I noticed Blueberry Pancakes and the biggest Popovers I've seen in my life. Bagels, omelets, sandwiches - it seemed that everyone had ordered one of "their favorites..." I can't decide how much I love this place if not for these reasons alone: All of the waitresses were smiling and friendly. The food was coming out quickly and efficiently. Beautifully presented, smelled amazing and not one person (we had a great view of the entire dining room and kitchen) seemed to have any complaints about their food. This is one of those places I wish were right next to my house. I'd visit every day. There is something for everyone on their menu, the locals are cheery and talkative and a Sunday brunch is everything and more at Noah's. We have been to Noah's many times over the years and we have been satisfied . Today we went for breakfast and we had a very bad experience, which I blame mostly on our server, whose name I won't mention. It started with the server spilling coffee on our table and it went downhill from there. While we didn't order anything that was complicated, it seemed to be taking an unusually long time for the food to come. Once we received our order the food was lukewarm at best, which probably means that it was sitting somewhere for who knows how long. We would have told our server that the food was almost cold but she never came back to see how everything was. We were never offered a coffee warm-up, and the next time she came to our table was to deliver our check (in keeping with her mode of operation she said "no rush"!). Needless to say I won't be going back any time soon. No need for me to rush back for the high prices, and terrible service. My wife said she would kill me if I left my customary 20% tip, which I did not, but I feel that even the 10% I did leave was not deserved by her. read more

Wonderful. Wonderful. Though I dont actually remember eating here as an adult, here is what I can tell you that is still helpful enough to make you consider eating here. When I was little, we would go here atleast once a week for brunch. I would drink cream out of the little metal pourers, or the tiny plastic cups. They would happily supply more. I am sure this has affected me in some deep psychological way as an adult, as I can only drink non-fat milk now. Why this is good for you: Family friendly, yet classy. Inexpensive enough to go to often. When I was in college and learning to cook, and apparently deaf and blind because I cant stand her now, I stalked Rachael Ray here when she was taping an episode of "$40 a Day". She was happy to sign my cookbook even though I ripped the seam of my jeans right under my butt sitting on some stone steps, had a unibrow thing going on (hey it was summer), and undoubtedly looked like a nutcase as I got too nervous and then had to chase her down the street once I got the courage. Every time we go, my family raves about how delicious their meal is. And we've always had good experiences with the service. I love the fact that they serve so many local, seasonal, and fresh ingredients. My qualm is with the lack of vegetarian options. The salads are always fantastic but can't stand alone as a meal. The fettuccine with basil pesto is somewhat bland and uninteresting. On one visit, I was very excited to find a vegetarian risotto on the specials menu. Unfortunately, it was extraordinarily bland and had the texture of spackling paste. Furthermore, even my meat-eating but seafood-allergic friend had a very hard time finding enough options. Plus, the space gets so noisy I've never been able to carry on a conversation with a party larger than 4. It's a fantastic choice if you go with a small group and if you leave any non-seafood eaters at home. For me, personally, that's just too many ifs. I still enthusiastically recommend it to others who meet the criteria, however. read more

Food was extremely fresh and high quality. I ordered the made to order guacamole and chips for an appetizer and was disappointed. The chips were round tostitos and the guac seemed a little bland although I may have been a little critical because I hate tomatoes and it was loaded with them. The mashed potatoes were delicious. This place is really nice. I like the simple yet classy setting - there are fresh flowers on every table, with each having its unique, little vase. There are pretty blonde wood booths and tables that make wine glasses look great. The place didn't at all feel touristy, in fact it looked like the ideal place to catch up with family and friends. My husband and I meant to eat breakfast there, but we were too late. Apparently they only serve brunch on Sundays. The food was very good, and the variety of items on the menu was unlike anything I've ever come across. Oysters, quiche, pate - you could even get a Welsh Rabbit sandwich. My husband and I split the Muenster and Canadian bacon quiche as an appetizer, a compromise since he was looking forward to eating breakfast. I ordered the Reuben with German style potato salad and my husband had the Noah's Best Wurst. He wasn't a fan of the potatoes, which was flavored with vinegar but were still sweet, but I enjoyed them. The service was a bit slow, but it was a busy afternoon and the waiter and host stopped in to check on us several times while we waited. My little party of three came here at a weird hour on a Saturday afternoon, a very late lunch I guess you could call it. When we got to the door there were many people leaving providing many open tables on the dining side. We followed a couple in and there was already another couple waiting for a table. At first the hostess stated the dinning room was closed because they were to start setting up for dinner, once she sat the first party waiting in the bar area she realized there were no other open tables and quickly changed her mind and sat us and the previous party on the dining side. It's a good thing she did because people just kept coming in! It's a really cute place with beautiful art hanging on display. Local artists I'm guessing. We ordered the French Onion soup which was amazing, perfect amounts of cheese and onion and bread in a giant crock. I ordered the quiche of the day which happened to be cheddar and bacon, again, perfectly balanced ratios of ingredients big portion, served with a little green salad. My two counterparts got scallop dishes, one an Asian style salad served with a multitude of colorful veggies and one the broiled dinner the scallops were cooked perfectly. Service was a little slow but friendly. She convinced us to get dessert which was a great idea, the hot fudge sundae was delightful, and the blueberry crisp and apple cobbler were quickly inhaled.
