Espresso martini is to die for here, and the deserts are out of this world
Eric S.

Noah's is absolutely my favorite locally made dessert dining establishment. It's a super quaint 1970s built establishment on Water Street in stonington burrough that has that cheers vibe.. You know...where everyone knows your name!! That is honestly one of the most enticing things about stopping here for a coffee and a dessert. You just never know who you'll sit down next to and strike up a conversation with. (I do recommend sitting at the bar and taking part in good old fashioned face to face conversations. Something so liberating about relating to people of all walks of life, if I do say so myself) While they offer brunch, lunch, happy hour, dinner, drinks, as well as desserts, I often think of Noah's as the best desserts in the entire burrough of stonington. They hand make the Desserts right on property and are always being updated on their website. As I right this review I'm double checking the most recent options.. here is today's dessert menu list as taken directly from their website èBourbon Pecan Caramel Bread Pudding Served Warm with House Made Caramel Sauce & Whipped Cream ...Strawberry Blueberry Crisp Served Warm with a Scoop Vanilla Ice Cream ...Chocolate Mousse Topped with Whipped Cream Peach Cobbler Warmed and Served with Vanilla Ice Cream Brown Derby Warm Brownie topped with a Scoop of Vanilla Ice Cream, Whipped Cream, Chocolate Sauce and Chocolate Curls Affogato Vanilla Ice Cream & Shot of Espresso Add Grand Marnier or Fratello 6 Key Lime Pie with Graham Cracker Crust and Whipped Cream I would recommend sharing them all because you won't be able to choose just one! Cheers

Absolutely love this place. Somehow the pancakes taste so much better than anything I could have at home. Such a cute vibe and stellar location.

Stopped in for a drink...amazing service at the bar! Old 19th century vibe with great bourbon selection and some craft cocktails mixed in. I had the "what the Fig?" Fig Brandy, Apple brandy, chartreuse, and lemon. Very well balanced. Loved the drink, but it's seasonal so get it while you can. My uncle got the buffalo trace and coke. I would never mix coke with such a good bourbon with anything, but the flavor was actually amazing!

Returning from a visit with relatives in Maine, my companion and I overnighted in Mystic, Connecticut. The next morning, after checking out of our hotel, we spent a few pleasant hours strolling about the Mystic Seaport Museum before paying a call at Noah's Restaurant in nearby Stonington. Highly recommended by a friend, we thought this would be the perfect spot to enjoy a casual light lunch before heading back to Pennsylvania. Making its debut in 1979, Noah's has become something of a Stonington institution. Located on the corner of Church and Water Streets, the restaurant is domiciled in two adjoining storefronts, one given over to a convivial horseshoe-shaped bar, the other to a pleasant dining area. Homey & Comfortable are the words that best describe the scene; and I sense this the moment we cross the threshold and behold the profusion of meetings and greetings. It's quite apparent that the lunchtime crowd here is comprised almost entirely of locals - on this particular occasion, it appeared that we were the only out of towners in the house - which is usually a good sign. Certain segments of the menu change on a daily basis. The day of our visit, for example, there were possibilities ranging from Turkey & Brie Sub to Grilled New York Strip Steak, Seafood Spaghetti, and Pan-Roasted Monkfish. Then, of course, there's also an assortment of Appetizers, Salads, House Made Noodles, Hamburgers & Sandwiches, and an interesting number of make-your-own Boro Bowls. Of particular interest to us, however, was the section of the menu celebrating Oktoberfest. Included were such substantial entrées as Sauerbraten with spaetzle & braised red cabbage and House-Made Pork Schnitzel with vegetable & mashed potatoes... both of which we deemed a tad on the heavy side for a "casual light" lunch. We settled on the choice of Wurst(s). And, interestingly enough, we both decided on the Bratwurst, which was poached in beer and served with German potato salad, juniper apple kraut, and ramekin of zippy mustard. The dish came in two portion sizes... We both ordered the diminutive version. The shared dessert - Blueberry Pie garnished with vanilla ice cream - was something of a mixed bag. I enjoyed the flavor and consistency of the pie, my companion did not. The real problem, however, was the crust, which was so hard and unyielding that it was almost impossible to cut, even with a knife. Bottom Line: My companion and I really did enjoy Noah's laid-back, casual ambiance... but we were also in agreement that the food (at least what we sampled) could have been a good deal better.

Wow! We had the best date night sitting at the bar here. The bartender Ryan was kind and made perfectly balanced drinks. I loved that all the locals know and love him. The ambiance here is like a pub/tavern and the food is elevated American classics as well as lighter/healthier options. I had the Messy Dan Burger. It was so good we ordered a second. I wish that was a joke but it's not. Can't wait to come back!

Had a great meal here! Came around 6 pm on a Saturday evening and they didn't have a table for 3 but we were able to eat at the bar. The bartender was great and very nice and prompt. I ordered the corn for an appetizer and I loved it. The chipotle sauce was so delicious with the cheese. Then I ordered the bowl. It was great to be able to customize it. Very fresh and good sauces to tie the bowl together. The bowl was also a very good size and I was very full afterwards. The inside is very cozy. Overall a great experience!

Oh so good that we had to come back for breakfast! Spent happy hour (every day 3-5) and we were so pleased we came back for eggs Benedict and huevos rancheros the next morning. Had to take a pic of ladies pancakes too. The service is great. Thanks Ryan and Steve for making us feel like part of the Noah's family!

Went to Noah's at the suggestion of many. The place is adorable. Very quaint. We sat at the bar. The service was slow, at best. We were there for two hours. We immediately ordered drinks and the homemade guacamole. It came out 20ish minutes later. It was ok but lacked seasoning. Homemade chips were good. I had the house salad with salmon. The lady next to me has the shrimp salad and wasn't impressed so I changed my choice. It was a solid 5 out of 10. My friend had the lettuce wraps. The lettuce was weird. Not Romain like you normally see but a big spinach leaf- it appears that couldn't hold the meat. She said the meet was seasoned well and tasted good. Nothing here wow'd us! Same with the couple next to us.

Wild Blueberry Pancakes and one of the specials, roasted apple pancakes with a side of Applewood Smoked Bacon and patatas bravas.

Always a terrific breakfast or brunch meal at Noah's. The best wild blueberry pancakes ever. Coffee game is on point. Extra plus having the half n half served fresh in a pitcher instead of those shelf-stable small containers. Service is friendly and the ambience is quintessential seaside New England charm. The photos of flowers, beach, etc add to the esthetic.

There were 6 of us for brunch and none of us had been here before. The Shipwright's Daughter rivals many excellent experiences we had and surpasses most. The staff was super friendly and did everything they could to make our experience memorable. The brunch menu offers a nice assortment of options as we had one member in our party who had some eating restrictions. We started off with both raw and roasted oysters, both of which, we some of the best we have ever had. I love Shashuka. I've never had it with tomatillos. This version is now my favorite. I enjoyed the play between savory and acid. I chose my eggs to be prepared over easy expecting the yolks to add the desired richness that tomatillos can handle without overpowering their bite. What set this version apart for me was the addition of the pickled vegetables. They greatly complimented the tomatillos with their own sweetness and acidity that made for a well balanced bite. Others in our party felt similarly, that their meals were so flavorful and so well execucted that it made for a superb dining experience.

I really liked the ambiance of the space, it's quite comfortable and has a nautical aesthetic. We were sat in a cozy little corner by the window, a great spot for watching the bustling of the little seaside town. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable of the restaurant's offerings, noting in their introduction that the focus of the menu is on fresh local seafood, and that everything on the menu is freshly made in house. I was very eager to try a cup of the clam chowder for an appetizer since many other reviewers have said that it's some of the best they've ever tasted, and after trying it for myself I'm more than inclined to agree with them; it had a perfect consistency and excellent flavor. Boyfriend wanted the fried mozzarella so we got some of that, and that was pretty tasty as well. Boyfriend got the chicken parm sandwich for his meal and I got the fish and chips. I didn't end up trying the sandwich, but he said he liked it. My fish and chips plate was pretty good; the fish tasted just a tad under seasoned to me, however the flavorful tartar sauce helped with that and I could tell the fish itself was great quality. The hand cut fries were good, but I wasn't really a fan of the coleslaw. Overall we had a pleasant experience at The Mariner. A very good choice for fresh seafood and a relaxed vibe. I'm sure I'll be in town again at some point; if I come back to The Mariner, I'll make a point to get a bowl of the clam chowder instead of a cup, because that alone is absolutely worth returning for... but until then, I'll be dreaming about it.

The menu offers everything from soups and salads to scallop meals and sandwiches. Extremely well priced. There are about a dozen tables and a few high tops as well as a bar for seating. Parking is across the street. The staff is extremely friendly and attentive. I wish they had brewed iced tea, but they said it only comes from the fountain. Ick! Ordered a bowl of clam chowder soup. Very creamy and good flavor. The clams seem to be gritty. Probably could use a good rinse before they are cooked. But overall, the flavor and consistency our clams and potatoes with each bite was nice. Ordered the cod sandwich with onion rings. The cod sandwich is quite large. Served on a brioche bun with tomatoes and lettuce and a lemon wedge It was served piping hot. The fish, although large and presentation was nice, it lacked flavor. The batter was not completely cooked toward the meat of the fish. You get your choice of side and we had onion rings. They were standard side, but cooked to perfection. Overall, I was pleased with this restaurant. I would give the ambience a five out of five, the weight staff service was five out of five and the food would be a solid four. I would definitely come back to this restaurant.
