    Steak and cheese popover
    Tiffany B.

This is exactly the kind of breakfast and lunch spot that keeps you coming back! Delicious food and super friendly staff. Their popovers are the star: light, airy, perfectly golden, with that crisp exterior and soft, buttery center. The stuffed steak and cheese popover is a must-order and packed with flavor in every bite. The house-made corned beef hash is delicious and clearly made with care. I also loved the loaded breakfast bowl complete with crispy potatoes topped with an egg, onions and peppers, melted cheese, guacamole, and sour cream.

What a find. Was in the area on Mother's Day looking for bite to eat. Lucky find, I couldn't believe it wasn't crowded. Staff super friendly and helpful. Place is nice has good amount of tables. Plenty parking. Busy area. Food was Amazing. Had nice variety of drinks, menu was interesting. Couldn't believe how good it was I ate mine and stared at my plate wanting more. Love finding different unique places. Definitely worth the try, we will def drive all the way back to this spot to have again. Thanks

Stopped here after a run to re-fuel. Did not have breakfast but appreciated that it has a parking lot (a plus in Mystic) and is a bit removed from the downtown Mystic area. Grabbed an iced americano and love that they use local Giv coffee. Also picked up a Morning Glory muffin which paired perfectly with it. Loved this muffin in their Simsbury location and was glad to see it in Mystic.

This was a very cute place in the area. Highly recommend if you're looking for a brunch spot. Food was good and service was friendly.

The pop over with the honey butter was delicious My hot honey iced latte was also delicious though I didn't taste too much spice and it was a little too sweet, but not overly so (for reference I typically just get an unflavored unsweetened latte). My pop over was good, but felt a little too savory. I wish I had ordered the pop over on the side rather than as the container for the veggie scrambled egg dish. Also, we ordered a specialty smoothie to support pride month, which was delicious as well. Our server was attentive and engaging. We loved our little table by the window. The atmosphere was bustling on a Saturday morning and I can see why. We had eaten at several hotel properties earlier this week at no cost (and could have had our breakfast included at the hotel today) but chose to make the trek this morning somewhere new and it was well worth the $50 breakfast for two.

Small and charming breakfast/lunch spot in Mystic! I had high hopes for trying the "pop overs" since I've never had one before. I tried the veggie popover and it was just okay (it looks exactly how it tastes, nothing bad by any means but also didn't blow my socks off!). I would definitely come back and try something else on the menu! The home fries were delicious and the blood orange aperol spritz was a hit!

Went to Pop Over eatery and had a delicious breakfast. My husband and I split the Veggie Pop (regular menu) and the Apple Pie Belgian Waffles (these were a special limited menu item). Both were fantastic, not overly salty (veggie pop) or sweet (waffles). The wait was a bit long, 30 min, considering it was not at capacity. But service was great. It's a casual eatery with a California vibe to it. Would go again for sure but would account for the longer wait.

Servers and hosts are always friendly. They dont rush you but the food comes out quick and the specialty coffees are delicious. Many gluten free options!!

Small casual breakfast/lunch restaurant with signature house made popovers stuffed with toppings from Nutella and fruit to scrambled eggs and breakfast items or topped with chili and cheese they all have some standard Breakfast fair options with their own twist. And you can even come for lunch and have salads, sandwiches etc. Nice selection of coffee and tea drinks as well. It's always hard to choose.....Eat in or Takeout.

My favorite thing about this place and why we chose it is the vegan options. It's overpriced but may not considering Mystic is overpriced in general. I wasn't the biggest fan. The hot drinks were great!! That's probably all I would return for. The food was mid. Parking on site. It can get busy on weekends. People are friendly.

My family of four went here today, and 3/4 of us were in love. The service was fantastic. I ordered the veggie pop with fried Brussels sprouts on the side and both were delicious. My hubby ordered a special - the Chicken pop pie. He was a happy camper. He had it with the fried cauliflower, which he liked. We had the buffalo sauce on the side. Our eldest liked her french toast, but did not like the side of steak tips she ordered at all. They seemed to be brined in a balsamic vinaigrette and the taste was off-putting. We all tried it and agreed. Our youngest was in heaven with her waffles and hot cocoa. She just wanted more fruit. The decor was joyfully seasonal. We look forward to coming again.

I've been wanting to try their food ever since they opened in Mystic, mainly because of their extensive plant-based options on the menu. Recently, I finally got the chance. I placed a pickup order through their website, but the food was disappointing. The buffalo cauliflower sandwich was just okay (the best among what I ordered). The plain bean burger was literally just a patty with a piece of bread. The fries were mediocre, and the Brussels sprouts were a complete disaster -- all I could taste and see was oil (especially disappointing given the high price!).

Excellent from food to service. Popover with eggs and chicken with waffles were excellent. Service - very friendly and warm.

With its Latin American focus, I felt like the Peruvian chicken would be the best bet. Plus it was listed first on the menu (unlike concert setlists the best isn't usually saved for last - what's the deal with The Killers opening with Mr. Brightside? - but I digress). This was superb, partly thanks to the salsa verde, but also due to the excellent basil bread. I also enjoyed the mint lemonade. The local customers, like many Yelpers, raved about the Chinese BBQ sandwich and said I should get it next time. I had a moment of indie-rock snobbery and thought I can get Chinese sandwiches anytime in NYC, but I was curious about the emphatic praise. For a second I pretended I couldn't possibly get a second sandwich. So with some self-delusion combining "I didn't eat breakfast" and "these nice people told me to get another one" I got the BBQ sandwich. It, too, was excellent, with a perfect fusing of ham, bread and sauce.

I was in Mystic on New Year's Eve morning, killing time in between food activities, when I saw…read morePasta Fresca & Piadina in a Yelp search result. Its grinders looked damn good. Since Pasta was in the name, I figured it might be more of a market than a grinder shop and I decided to visit. It was actually more of a grinder shop that sold some fresh pasta and sauces and things that you would expect a grinder shop to have. I honestly thought about walking out without buying anything, but I kept thinking about that awesome looking Italian Trio (basically like an Italian Combo) grinder. I decided to order a small, take some pics and a couple of bites, and save the rest for later since I had lunch plans. This grinder was my ideal Italian Combo. First off, the small was huge. Full size at most places. I ate it over the course of two days. I ordered it with lettuce, tomato, banana peppers, cucumbers, provolone, Oil and Vinegar, Salt and Pepper, and Mayo. The three meats were pepperoni, Genoa salami and capicola. The bread was good, fresh and up to the job of holding the ingredients. There were about six slices of meats, but they folded them around the inside of the bun (cut on one side) so you were really getting about 12 layers in each bite. And the inside was stuffed with the veggies and other toppings. So stuffed that the toppings fell out as you were taking bites. But that was actually great from my perspective, because you could just pick up the fallen toppings and put them exactly where you were going to bite next. I've been to a lot of highly rated grinder shops in CT. I don't think I've had a better Italian combo. The ingredients were all great. It was a well constructed sandwich. You got bits and pieces of most of the stuff in each bite. Ingredients were in the right proportion. It was salty. Acidic. Juicy. Great contrasting textures. This was a text book Italian Combo Grinder. Now if you live near Mystic, getting a grinder from Pasta Fresca is a no brainer because you can take it home. If you're not from the Mystic area, there was a bit of seating. Seating may be hit or miss though. In any event, if you can figure out where you're going to eat the Italian Trio, you're going to love it. Can't believe I've never heard of this place. 5 Stars

They might be a tad bit under staffed cause we did wait a bit before someone got us a table and even to pay and get some of the bakery items was a bit of a wait, but it wouldn't stop me from going again. The food actually came out fairly quickly. The wife and I both got the grilled chicken sandwich with fries and my son got the French toast. I will admit, when my wife wanted to come here I really wasn't in the mood for anything I saw on the menu. We were on vacation and we weren't having much luck with food options the whole time so I was just being picky. That all changed tho when food arrived because that sandwich was excellent and really hit the spot. The service was okay while the food came out in a timely manner. I liked that some of the fish items listed the fishing vessel on the menu. Three appetizers were ordered which consisted of a beet pickled deviled egg ($4 each), chilled oysters (Half Dozen $18), and the local fluke crudo ($17). The egg had a crispy clam strip and espelette pepper. This was solid. I thought the clam strip was a little too overpowerful given the size of that and the egg. The pickled beet egg was interesting, and I liked how the filling was also under the egg, so the egg did not move. The Riverhawk oysters were fresh and tasty. The mignonette was simple and paired well. The crudo had an herb mayo, pickled ramps, kelp crisp, and pickled sugar kelp. This was alright. It seemed like fennel or a similar type of herb was used in one of the pickling items, which took over a little bit. The kelp crisp was nice and paired well with the fluke. For an entrée, I had the local scup a la plancha ($37). It came with Marshall Cove mussels, fondant potato, English peas, and a saffron emulsion. This was a nice sized portion. I thought the saffron emulsion was key and went together with everything else on the plate. The mussels were fresh again, and the potatoes were cooked perfectly. It was a well-done dish, but the use of scup made it feel more modest, but maybe that was the point, so what do I know? I also tried the scallop dish that came with green crab crispy rice, chili crispy, and a garlic aioli. The rice was very crispy, and it reminded me of a traditional hibachi rice, but elevated. The scallops had a perfect cook to them too. For dessert, the oyster ice cream ($10) was tried. It had to be tasted when it was on the menu. It had a slight briny flavor, but nothing too overpowerful. The ice cream itself was very creamy with a nice texture. I believe Greek yogurt was used, which probably helped with the oyster flavor that was incorporated. Will I go back? Sure.
