First, Emily was phenomenal. From taking care of the kids to tour-guiding us through the menu, she felt like a warm hug when we needed one most on a day with a headache. This place is where a greasy spoon meets Grandma's kitchen, with a talented chef working a flattop that's been seasoned by years of flavor. The Eggs Benedict? A must-order. 12/10. "Oh boys." One of my favorite places to grab breakfast when in Mystic... If you can get a table outside do it. The view is nice and you can see the boats floating by. It's basic breakfast with some twists and tons of options. The staff is great most have been with the restaurant for quite a while. It's a little off the beaten up ath but Worth a visit. read more

This place is just okay. With that said, I came here as it is a top rated brunch spot, and I love a good brunch spot. There's an extensive menu and a small interior. They do not take reservations, so it's possible you'll be waiting for a while. You may also wait for a while when you're sitting because I felt ignored most of my visit. I had a crab and asparagus Benedict and pierogies. I will grant that the Benedict was well done. Poached egg was perfectly runny and the hollandaise had a wonderful light flavor. The pierogies and the potato hash, however, were pedestrian at best and I didn't eat most of the potatoes as a result. The menu has impressive range you wouldn't find at most places, but I wasn't excited by most of my meal so I'm left with thinking I might come back here but I'd never say this is a place you have to go to. read more

It's ok. The wait to be seated was long. Our wait was 45 minutes on a Sunday. The staff is very attentive though once you're inside. Service was mostly positive. We did have a delay or two waiting on clean cups for mimosas. The second mimosa I had was perfect, but the first round seemed like we just got champagne. Was weird. I went here specifically because they seemed to specialize in Benedict's. They have an entire section of their menu devoted to it. But, spoiler alert, the hollandaise is packet :(. What a let down! The food was good otherwise. I had a Philly steak Benedict which was quite good besides the sauce. And we had jalapeño hash browns, which were delicious. If the wait wasn't so long I'd probably be back. But there's other places with similar quality and less wait. I'll probably end up at Toast & Tonic instead. read more

Glad I finally made it. Tried to go Sat and there was an electrical wire down that closed the one road there. I had better luck on Sunday. Arrived around 930am to a 30 min wait. It's a popular place. Everyone was friendly and welcoming- I noticed the host briefly stopping at tables to chat with guests by name as he returned to the host stand after seating diners. I figured they were regulars- but then he stopped at my table a few times and checked in with me, using my name. I was impressed. It was very busy but service was excellent. My eggs Benny and the side of fruit were delicious- got biscuits and sausage gravy to go. Huge menu selection. My server brought me a 'to go' cup with lid when she noticed I hadn't finished my iced tea. Little things like that matter. Cute place- would definitely go back. Kitchen Little is that ol' reliable that is always packed. Why? Because the only other breakfast joint in Mystic is the Mystic Diner. (Sift is phenomenal but I have a hard time classifying it as a breakfast joint.) It has a large, finely tuned menu with the occasional standout special. But while one walks away full, the flavors aren't that memorable. Service is typically fast, courteous, and with a focus on getting folks out the door to address the growing line outside. Thankfully they have some seating outside that overlooks the marina, which on a nice day is the place to sit. read more

We recently made our first visit to Kitchen Little and it won't be our last. The dining area was packed when we arrived but we didn't have to wait very long as the waitstaff was quick and efficient in resetting the tables. The menu was laid out effectively and we loved the 1/2 # idea. So fun! We both enjoyed the breakfast options we chose and the coffee was served hot and everyone was very attentive to make sure our cups were refreshed often. This place was as good as everyone else has written. Although it's not to say that some groups may have had not as good a time. The vibe is cool. It's a small restaurant and does have outdoor seating (although methinks some are saved for regulars. And rightly so!) Service was great. We chatted for awhile with our server (maybe too much ). Food was really good--really crispy bacon and the jalepeno hash browns, yum. Only objection came from the cinnamon swirl pancakes. My kid thought they were on the small side. My lobster benedict was delicious. Anything is better with more lobster but it was enough. The plate could have benefitted with a small salad or microgreens. Would definitely return! read more

The service here is TERRIBLE, we understood we were a larger group but the wait was 40 minutes, we waited 15 minutes to have our order taken, we sat for over an hour waiting to just find out that they didnt even put our order in, our kids were crying. We really wanted to like this place. We live in the area and gave it four separate tries over time, hoping the experience would improve. Unfortunately, every visit was the same. Burnt rolls, burnt bacon, and potatoes that were completely drenched in grease. The potatoes honestly looked like they'd been sitting around for days--more like a pile of grease with a few potatoes mixed in. To be fair, the servers have always been very nice, and the location itself is pleasant. Unfortunately, that's where the positives end. The kitchen just doesn't seem to care about what they're sending out. The quality of the food is baffling considering the reputation this place has. In a town with so many truly excellent restaurants, there's just no reason to keep giving this place chances. After four attempts, we're done. Maybe visitors passing through town are handing out the four- and five-star reviews. As locals with plenty of better options, we won't be coming back. read more

Kitchen Little is a must visit in Mystic CT. Beautiful location right on the waterfront in the boat yard, 5 minutes away from the aquarium and a bunch of shops, you can come here and make a whole day of it, which is exactly what we did for my fiancée's birthday. This little family run shop does breakfast right. We drove 2 and a half hours just to come eat here. The staff make you feel like a you're a part of their family. The filet was tender even though it was cooked well past medium. The hollandaise sauce was thick, which worked well surprisingly. The lobster side was excellent. Pancake I am glad they had an option to add just a single pancake. The pancake was light and airy, buttermilk delicious. Not a fan of the log cabin syrup option. Location Backdrop of the marina is always a nice view. The locals pack this place and I see why. While there was a small wait, they turn over time for the tables is impressive. I have an update to my earlier review. Tami, the head server at Kitchen Little, took up our case and helped to resolve the two additional charges for our breakfast. Since they are a small family-owned business, it did take a minute to get everything straightened out with their accountant and coordinate with our bank who was investigating our claim but they have now sent a check to reimburse us. As I mentioned earlier, we had a good experience otherwise and felt the food & service were worth a 20% tip. So I'm glad to say we worked it out. Happy Holidays everyone! read more

Had a great breakfast with family! They are a bit of a smaller place inside so they had to break us into two tables but it was totally fine. I had the kitchen sink omelette which was so good. It had everything I wanted all tucked away! Others got lobster Benedict which they loved and said it was their favorite meal of the trip ! They have great views and a nice parking lot ! First of all it has a kick ass name. We came on a Sunday morning, perfect day out sitting right in the boat lunch w great views of boats going in and out. Stopped in for breakfast and found the restaurant to be hopping. There are tables of two and four available for seating. This is a small restaurant that has a fantastic view of the water except in winter when all the boats are sitting in the parking lot. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door by our very pleasant server. We seated ourselves at a table for two. Word of caution to talk people, check the table before you sit down to make sure it doesn't have sides to it. Unfortunately we picked that table and it's difficult to get long legs under the table without upsetting the tea kettle. The menu is very packed with plenty of choices on how you would like your eggs including the option of building your own omelette. We ordered two scrambled eggs with cheese, the cinna -bunn, and the Portuguese eggs Benedict, home fries well done along with a wild raspberry mimosa. Our order arrived very quickly and done the way we requested. The scrambled eggs were well cooked but the cheese had been blended into them so really couldn't taste it. The bunn was grilled and had a cream cheese swirl on top. Plenty of cinnamon but was on the dry side. Had the cream cheese been slathered across the top that might have helped. The Benedict had plenty of hollandaise sauce on top of the eggs and the eggs were nice and runny. Under the eggs were chorizo patties resting on a grilled Portuguese roll. Chorizo wasn't as spicy as expected but the dish had good flavor and the Hollandaise was excellent. The home fries were well done with plenty of onions. Great flavor and the potatoes are red skin potatoes and were chopped into bite sized pieces. The mimosa was good with plenty of raspberry flavor. All in all a good meal and there will be a return trip to try more items on the menu. read more

We came in for Saturday breakfast at 10:30 AM, and we were told to wait 30 minutes for a table. It took us one hour to be seated to get an unclean table. We waited another 15 minutes for a waitress to come and take our orders. Then we waited for food almost 30 minutes. Seriously! Just to eat breakfast here it took us almost 2 hours before we were done. As soon as we got food we asked for the check to get out and go. Their services are not better than any fast food shop.
