    Cooked goose platter

Besides the amazing breakfast options, this spot is the place to be! Our hostess was so sweet and endearing, and most of all, super funny. We barely had a wait even though we walked in around 8:15 AM with the whole family of 4, maybe 2 additional sleepyheads joining later. I would like to share there's free parking available. I genuinely had a wonderful time here. Did I mention that it was our wedding anniversary! And this cafe made it even more awesome! :) I believe our waitress was so calm as my whole party agonized over the menu and needed time to peruse the many choices available. I loved the fact that the waitstaff patiently checked in to see if my family and I were enjoying ourselves. That was heart warming when they asked if we would like more coffee or any additional items. It felt like home, and it's no surprise that this restaurant/cafe had a huge community of regulars. And the food...how can I describe it? Big portions made with love. My hash browns felt like nostalgically good, crispy, crunchy goodness. It reminded of every time I begged my mom to buy us hash browns especially due to the high oil content/high satisfaction rating. The sausage was huge and juicy in my cooked goose platter. I loved it! There was so much cheese and avocado. It was delicious and so yummy. I had to take the hash browns to go. They were spicy tingly and flavorful! Our table was given a huge carafe of coffee...so another helping of kindness, so they let us decide how much caffeine we needed to function. Very subtle attention to detail. Also ketchup, srichrcha (spelling?) aioli, sugar options including substitutes, butter, half & half, all available for us. My visit was really an experience worth cherishing that heart just melted. I was already having a difficult morning, and it was so relaxing to see people just being patient and caring! I saw a gentleman to my right having a breakfast platter with his dog, some families with cute babies, and a friendly group of ladies happily speaking about a recent wedding they attended, so all in all, it just had a great vibe. I highly recommend this spot when you are in Westerly, Rhode Island!

BEST PANCAKES EVER! I got the cinnamon roll pancakes and was mumbling the entire time about how I couldn't get enough. Paired with hot chocolate (which they were nice enough to make with oat milk), it was the best breakfast ever. The ambiance is warm and cozy and homy and all the good things. Especially with the Christmas tablecloths and decor!! The tables are spaced nicely and there was plenty of parking when we were there. Prices are totally fair. Service was good too! I loved it so much here that I bought a Get Goosed hoodie and will have it forever.

Service was amazing as we got our food right away. Place can be crowded but we didn't have to wait. Got the inlet, traditional breakfast, and lox bagel. Portion sizes are pretty big and everything was delicious. Loved my lox and side of fish salad was so fresh and appetizing. Overall they nice and Defs recommend

A 3 star ( great ambiance, great service and great food). Another kick ass creative name for a place. Ample parking and spacious inside seating. Fast service that was attentive and personal. Had the onmelette w potatoes and the spicy tartine. Highly recommend this joint.

Great no frills affordable yet fancy-vibes breakfast spot near Westerly. Food is yummy, not the best ever, but hits the spot and doesn't break the bank.

Excellent! I had a custom omelette, and everything I ate was great. Everyone with me enjoyed their meals, too. Very cute restaurant in a gorgeous part of town. Quick, friendly service.

Nice friendly staff. Our food came out quickly for them being so busy. We ordered two coffees and they brought us a thermos which was awesome, instead of having to wait for refills! The food was good. I got a hash brown skillet which was unique and pretty good. My husband got the hash and said it was good also.

Great Breakfast or Brunch. They have mimosas! They also have the best key lime pie. We didn't try lunch but they have an array of sandwiches, salads and wraps. Also a large deli case of bakery goods. The cooked goose isn't far from Misquamicut and makes for a nice bike ride.

The Cooked Goose has a nice brunch menu and also a deli counter for food to go. We arrived about 10:30 for Sunday brunch. Several folks were waiting to be seated and our wait was about 10 minutes. We wanted a Bloody Mary but they only had mimosas on the menu so we ordered them instead. For brunch we had biscuit and chicken sausage gravy with two eggs, breakfast tartine, and an omelette with rye toast. All came with home fries. The biscuits were grilled and had a nice outer crunch. The omelette was stuffed with goat cheese, spinach and sausage, it was delicious. The tartine was unusual but tasty, it consisted of Country wheat toast with 2 poached eggs, goat cheese, avocado, arugula, & tomato. We'll be back to try their lunch menu.

    Spicy fried chicken sandwich

I came to the Cooked Goose for lunch on a Sunday afternoon in December - definitely off peak for this town. The spicy fried chicken sandwich was recommended by server so I tried it! It was slightly disappointing. Calling it spicy was a little misleading - there wasn't any heat in the sauce. I wasn't a fan of the house-made kimchi that came on top of the sandwich either. It didn't feel authentic and lacked flavor. The restaurant gets 4 stars however because it has a really cute neighborhood vibe inside! Everyone was warm and friendly which goes a long way for me. The breakfast menu looked promising as well!

A finger points at a bakery menu item called 'with cream' priced at $2.95, on a menu with various baked goods and prices, at a restaurant or bakery.

I'm staying at the Ocean House hotel which has expensive awful tasting food. THANK YOU to the Cooked Goose for rescuing our taste buds and wallets! Everything was amazing - the eggs, pancakes, French toast, tartine...the orange juice was fresh squeezed. The home fries were well seasoned - they also had bagels and an assortment of baked goods. The baked goods were top shelf. We tried a chocolate chip cookie and coffee cake and split it up amongst the family. The t-shirts and sweatshirts were high quality - we grabbed a couple because they looked cool. Definitely eat here for breakfast or lunch in the Watch Hill area!

There were 6 of us for brunch and none of us had been here before. The Shipwright's Daughter rivals many excellent experiences we had and surpasses most. The staff was super friendly and did everything they could to make our experience memorable. The brunch menu offers a nice assortment of options as we had one member in our party who had some eating restrictions. We started off with both raw and roasted oysters, both of which, we some of the best we have ever had. I love Shashuka. I've never had it with tomatillos. This version is now my favorite. I enjoyed the play between savory and acid. I chose my eggs to be prepared over easy expecting the yolks to add the desired richness that tomatillos can handle without overpowering their bite. What set this version apart for me was the addition of the pickled vegetables. They greatly complimented the tomatillos with their own sweetness and acidity that made for a well balanced bite. Others in our party felt similarly, that their meals were so flavorful and so well execucted that it made for a superb dining experience.

While the hotel offers several dining possibilities, there is no question in my mind that Coast is their culinary chef d'oeuvre. My dining partner and I found their New England-inspired cuisine to be not only beautifully presented but also absolutely delicious. Throw in an award-winning wine list, friendly & personable service, picturesque view of the Atlantic Ocean, and a most satisfying evening at table awaits. Be advised, however... What also awaits is a pretty hefty hit on your pocketbook, as our five-course prix-fixe Degustation Menu - with several choices included - was priced at $145.00 per person, plus beverages, tax & gratuity (there is also a similarly priced vegetarian menu). If you want to add the Reserve Wine Pairing, which I did, that will cost you an additional $125.00 per person (Grand Wine Pairing an additional $250.00 per person). Definitely not what you would call a cheap date. That being said, however, in my opinion - and that of my companion as well - dinner here is well worth the expenditure. Our first course was the Ninigret Pond Oyster "Pan Roast." Sourced from a local coastal lagoon that is linked to the Atlantic Ocean and Block Island Sound, Ninigret Pond is home to several reliable oyster purveyors. I must confess that I have never been an enthusiastic fan of bivalves in general - and raw oysters in particular. However, the pan-roasted representatives sampled here, smooth & buttery with a touch of sweetness and sprinkled with Royal Belgian Osetra Caviar, were quite good indeed. And the Ruinart Singulier 18th Edition, Blanc de Blancs, Brut Nature, Champagne, (France), proved to be the perfect libationary accompaniment. But even better was the outrageously delicious Bluefin Tuna Tartare. I have tasted this dish on numerous occasions; however, this particular incarnation was in a class all by itself. Gently caressed by avocado and kissed by golden kiwi and a beguiling carrot ginger reduction, the result was a presentation that was pleasing to both eye and palate, and a highlight of our evening. The 2019 Tegernseerhof Loibenberg Riesling Smaragd Wachau (Austria), of course, added immensely to the enjoyment. The next course presented us with a rather interesting conundrum... the choice between two equally appetizing possibilities. My dining companion, of course, went immediately for the Seared Scallops & Foie Gras. I, on the other hand, decided to side entirely with the carnivores... Kuro Farms Wagyu Strip Loin. Companioned by short rib, confit carrot, and Sicilian pistachios, this was a winner all the way... as was the wine selection, the 2020 Aslina "Umsasane," an enticing blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Petit Verdot from Stellenbosch, South Africa. The dessert course was especially noteworthy, a Blackberry Sudachi Entremet aided and abetted by white chocolate mousse, lavender, and raw honey sponge. A rather unusual denouement, I must admit, but a lovely presentation and irresistibly scrumptious. And, once again, the wine selection - 2018 Domaine Huet Le Mont Moelleux, a Chenin Blanc from Vouvray, Touraine, in France's Loire Valley - was right on the money. The Bottom Line: An exceptionally fine dining experience. Pricey, to be sure... but, in my opinion, worth every penny. A restaurant to which my dining companion and I would gladly return. Highly recommended on all counts.
